    1. What's wrong about having a lesbian protagonist? A transgender character? or a strong buff woman like Abby? Nothing because representation matters.

    2. THAT scene in the first few hours. The point was to have Ellie & the player witness a brutal event for what happens afterwards which is the pursuit of revenge. It was the consequence to Part 1's ending and it was executed in a disrespectful way? on some level yes but this is TLOU, a unforgiving world where you're just surviving. He was acting out of character? Well it has been 5 years since settling in Jackson and patrols are to clear out the area and recruit new survivors? He isn't a smuggler anymore and people change.

    3. Bad/Lazy Writing: On my playthrough I failed to notice any of it. Nothing off and do you know Neil Druckmann is brilliant as he wrote Part 1 but also Uncharted 4 which also became the best one since 2?

    4. False Advertising? That is normal in this type of media along with Films to avoid spoilers so yes it is misleading but doesn't you should trust it. The leaks were unfortunate but it was proven to be by a Hacker and not some angry employee.

    5. Crunch: Yes crunch is also usual but this time almost everyone was passionate about making it that even tho the Director told them to not work so hard, they continued by their choice.

    6. The Ending: IMO I thought it was a fitting way to end the journey & I doubt after playing 10+ Hours as Abby and going through change with her Redemption Arc was gonna end up with her fate which was actually the original ending but I'm glad ND changed it as it is more open for a possible Part 3.

    7. Ruined the Franchise? it has been said years ago that Part 1 Fans aren't going to like this. This story was worth telling because it was a concept landed on and also continues the Ending from Part 1 which is the reason this is called Part 2. The character flashbacks did it justice especially the museum. Ellie in part 1 really wanted a meaningful death but finds out the truth so the flashbacks show the worst of times and the best moments. How was it ruined? lol

    8. Paid Shills? Critics gave a good score because it was their own review. I even hear that being paid off to give a good score is even illegal.

    9. User scores tell a different story. 5/10 = not accurate, Metacritic still hasn't implemented a way to verify if you own something so this was review bombed even the second the game released. Impossible to finish. It's true the 10/10's could be bombed. but the Negative ones are far more with the Bombing.

    10. The Director self insert himself? Yes Manny does look like him but Neil never did any Mocap. He even shouted out the actor so that claim is false.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Honestly, I really enjoyed the game while playing it. The game illustrates the brutal reality that the setting takes place in where loss and devastation is very common. The many haters of the game who are upset by Joel's death fail to realize that his adverse demise shows how savage the world is. Just because a beloved character has died due to a golf club does not ultimately make the game so bad as innumerable people have expressed. In addition, the mechanics and the brutal fights made the game very fun to play with all the new additions such as hiding in the grass, climbing, jumping, dodging, and new moves in general. It provided the strongest emotional impact a game ever has due to its ability to form a powerful connection between Ellie and the player. To be honest, I did kind of understand Abby, not that I will ever like or agree with her actions. For instance, if someone killed Ellie, Joel would definitely seek revenge and if the game were centered on the person who killed Ellie, players would view Joel as the bad guy. Therefore, though I definitely don't agree with her, i do understand her. For those people saying that it was out of character for Joel to help Abby and let his guard down, his sense of security lessened after he settled in a safe place with Ellie so he is not the same as the Joel we saw in the first game. Only thing that I kind of didn't like was that I would like to play more as Ellie and found playing as Abby was a bit boring. Overall, I loved the graphics, the cutscenes, the story, fights, characters, acting, and sound. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. They get 1 point for good graphics but that's about all they had. The gameplay is mostly copy paste from the first one and a sequel should be an upgrade. But that's not what everyone bought this game for. They bought it for the story. Because they liked TLOU characters and wanted to see a continuation of that. But this game feels like some anti fan fiction made by someone who down right hated the original. They pretty much throw the characters from the first game under the bus and spit on their memory. The make a hard push for you to like there new ones. Who are down right bland and dumb. Oh and Abe the main character they want you to love is just a horrible person.

If you loved or even just liked the first game give this anti fan fiction of a sequel a hard pass and as for the critics who are praising it. I am 100% sure the majority of them were bought off.

As a fan of the original, I enjoyed playing The Last of Us Part II. TLOU2 is an emotional gut-wrenching roller coaster. Relationships with characters are rich, the world design is very well done. The game is intricately detailed, not just graphically, there is a lot of thought put into each building, each environment.

The way the developers took risks and were willing to kill off characters left me emotionally drained in a way no other game has. The world feels truly dangerous and desperate, like an apocalypse. Up until the very end the story telling left me worried with the choices Ellie and other characters might make. How the story takes your feelings towards a character, one you are supposed to hate and flips them, is impressive.

Each death takes a toll on each character, even during gameplay NPC's have dramatic and realistic responses to their fallen comrades as they try to hunt you down. Speaking of gameplay, weapon customization, character progression with skills, the way the melee system works, the way guns and explosives feel and sound are all really top notch. TLOU2 is top notch 3rd-person action. There are some surprising things done with physics, sound design and music that create a truly immersive environment.

If I could critique anything, towards the end the stealth gameplay overstays it's welcome a bit. Also there were a few graphical glitches in which I needed to restart my PS4 Pro. However with what Naughty Dog accomplished with character development, you walk miles in the shoes of these characters, the story unfolds in a way that makes TLOU2 feel truly genuine.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us is one of my favourite games of all time, and was anticipating the sequel so much, thankfully I avoided the leaks bar one, the death of Joel.

The game is groundbreaking in so many different areas, gameplay, visuals, audio, all 10/10, no doubt, but for me the story is a huge let down, and was a way to shoe horn Abby into the story, while Laura Bailey does a fantastic job as Abby, I just do not like the character, I feel that the death of Joel should have been taken, and put at the end of the game, or at the start of a Part 3, Part 2 should've been focused on Abby, with the aftermath of the firefly massacre, and being a solider within the WLF, build her character, build her character arc, it sets up for this revenge story Naughty Dog were desperate to do and would've fit perfectly into a Part 3

Graphics are amazing. I liked the way the game felt. But I hated how the story played out why would you kill Joel like that for? He's a major character at least give Hime a heros ending. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

I've played the game twice and while the first time you wanted to see how it would end once you know the story a second walk-through feels not worth the time. I don't see the need for a 3rd game. There was no need for a 2nd game (although I was exited to see what they were going to do in this game since the first game is my favorite game ever) and I think there is no need for a 3rd game. I would recommend you to play both games so you can make an informed opinion but you can wait for this one to be at a lower price if you want. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last Of Us is one of the most exciting games i have ever played, and when they announced The Last Of Us Part II back in 2016, i was so excited that i couldn’t wait what’s the next story will be. When I got to finished the The Last Of Us Part II, i was so happy because the hype that i have since the announcement was worth it. Story
The story of The Last Of Us Part II is about revenge and forgiveness, the game is not fun and you will really feel the emotions of the two protagonist. The first half of the game you will play as Ellie, a character who will do whatever it takes to get to her goal, which is to kill Abby. The second half of the game you will play as Abby, a character who will do whatever it takes to help those people she cares about. When i saw Abby killing Joel (In Ellie's perspective), i feel the same way how Ellie felt, i felt anger and sadness, and the same feeling of losing someone you love. (In Abby’s perspective) i understood her, I understood why she killed Joel. Her goal is same like Ellie, getting revenge for killing her dad. I mean let’s be honest here, you would the same thing if you were Abby. ( I don’t really know why people still hate abby after finishing the game, i mean it’s sad to know that Joel is dead but if you were Abby you would do the same thing right?)

Throughout the first half of the game, i really feel angry and the urge to kill abby, and during the second half, i felt sad of what the two protagonist have become. I was kinda surprised because i never felt this kind of emotions whenever i play video games. Playing this game really feels like you’re in a roller coaster, there are ups and downs.

    Gameplay
The new mechanics of The Last Of Us Part II is one of the most unique things i have ever seen. The game feature a new dodge mechanic which allows you to dodge enemy attacks. You can also go prone so you can hide from your enemies or try to find another ways to kill your opponents and many more. Playing this game with these new mechanics really feels fresh and intense. The enemies of The Last Of Us Part II are quite challenging, the game has improved so much, the AI of this game is so much better than the first game because they act more realistic. There are also a new enemy type like the dog and other human enemies. Let’s not forget the enemies that made The Last Of Us amazing, The Cordyceps. The Cordyceps are more dangerous than ever, the runners are more agile, the clickers are more aggressive, the stalkers are much more quiet, and the bloaters is much more dangerous than the first game. We also get to see two new enemy types like the shambler and the rat king which are challenging to kill. I am so happy that naughty dog really improved the combat and made other mechanics, i can feel that they really work hard to make this game unique and special than the first game.

Conclusion The Last Of Us Part II is the most unique game i have ever played, From it’s story up to to it’s gameplay you can really feel the effort that the crew made. I’m so excited what naughty dog has in store for us. This is my favourite game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Everything- the graphics, gameplay, sound, environment- is great. Even the story in principle isn't bad at all, just really poorly executed. For one right at the beginning you need to suspend logic and believe that Joel blindly trusted abby, that took me out of the game completely and it bugged me for the rest of it. Seems really implausible that someone so astute and always suspicious would make a mistake like that or change so much within a few years. I wasn't bothered as much by the fact that Joel died in that way(my first reaction was that it was expected, since the bad stuff he's done) as much as the uncharacteristic way they made him behave.

Second, everything was waaay to long and also the narrative didn't seem sure of itself. A lot of it was just stupid filler that contributed nothing to the story and just made everything lose pace. I got bored several times and stopped for days. Third, the biggest problem- abby. There was NO reason to force us to play as this person for 10 hours. All that was needed was half an hour at most to explain her backstory and maybe an hour of gameplay to make us see that she had an angle. Instead they spend 10 hours trying to make us sympathise with her, failing with like 90% of the people who played the game. This character was not likeable and her motivations were not complex or difficult to understand, it wasn't that deep and didn't need so long. Understanding her motivations wasn't enough to care about her. If they'd made her gameplay like 75% shorter and allowed us to spend more time with Ellie this game would've been great. I think the ending was nice, the story if you ignore the horrendous way it was executed was also nice. Everything else about the game was nice. However I hated playing this- not because it made me feel bad or whatever, it was boring made me irritated that I was forced to keep playing as abby.

Just a nota bene, I've played the game twice now on Hard and Hard+ and think that it's the level it was meant to be played at. Anything below almost feels like a non-challenge.

Everything in this game can be considered an industry best - level design, mechanics, sound design, character development, lighting, script writing, animations...everything. If you have any understanding in how modern games are made, you will appreciate the effort the people at Naughty Dog have put into this title. The way the game unfolds, the way levels are structured, the way the lighting is used and the camera moves.. The way the sound and the music set the mood and tell the story..

Compared to the first game, part 2 has a way smarter AI that keeps you on your toes when playing at decent difficulty levels. The mechanics, while still being almost the same, have been finessed and broadened. It's fun to go and replay the encounters by trying different approaches and tactics.

But the main reason why I decided to write this review is the whole review bombing situation which I wholeheartedly despise. This game will be a financial and cultural success, no doubt about it. But what makes me super confused is the fact that majority of gamers can't handle a death of a protagonist, sexual preferences of a few characters and the fact that FEMALES CAN GROW MUSCLE. It's 2020 and it's time to grow up and accept it. Throughout the whole game I had thoughts and emotions rushing through my head trying to answer questions. Questions of unnecessary violence, love, compassion, forgiveness. I wasn't simply smashing buttons and killing one NPC after another and progressing from level to level. I was persistently reflecting on what was happening on the screen. This is why I sincerely love this game.

But I guess If you can't handle this, please consider sticking to something simpler. Play a session of Warzone with your mates, let off steam. Maybe one day you'll grow up and be able to fully appreciate this game. Maybe.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The Last of Us 2, in my opinion, gets a lot of undeserved hate. I think the one thing that people agree on is that the game is unnecessary, and that the first game was enough. However, that doesn't automatically make this game bad.
First of all, obviously the graphics and gameplay are miles better than the first game, it's a lot easier to play and the environments are amazing, from riding around downtown Seattle to hiding in the underground, it's awesome. But story wise, a lot of people hate it. I personally like the story, and yes, the way Joel died SUCKED, it was really upsetting to see one of the most beloved game characters ever get in the head with a golf club, and maybe they could of changed the way he died, but it happend. I loved the game for the first half where tyou play as ellie, I didnt have one bad thing to say about it. And I enjoyed most of abby's play through as well, the only reason I gave this game a nine instead of ten is for the Chapter seattle day one (Abbys Version). At this point in the game I still hated abby and wanted her to die for what she did to Joel, and I did not think I would be playing as her again. I had no motivation to play the second half of the game as her, and really had a hard time playing the game. This changed by the time i got to seattle day 2 and I saw how nice abby actually was, but still, that solid 5 hours of gameplay in between stops this game from a 10/10. All in all tho, great game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

the story of this game is completely garbage, the fact that this is supposed to be a story based game yet the story itself is the worst thing about it is why its just not worth it. The 2nd half where you play as Abby is trash as she's just an unlikeable character all around which doesn't make the game fun. Also wtf was that ending?

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Im getting straight to the point I don't like the gameplay, story and overall how the game makes me feel. There are certain parts in the game where it makes the player feel bad for playing it and thats just not okay. Examples are when Elllie is forced to kill the dog and when you play as Abby trying to kill Ellie. These just make me want to drop my controller and walk away. I also definitely don't want to play as Abby for about 10 hours because you could say anything about her and I still won't sympathize for her. And the ending was so out of place for Elllie's character, she definitely wouldn't have let Abby live and if you wanted that at least make it an option to kill her because now the story just kinda seems meaningless. You go and avenge Joel but in the end you don't even kill who kills him? Also how this game tries to make you like Abby so bad is sad it comes to a point where its just super manipulative and obvious. Also im just gonna say this now what the hell was that article before the game came out that says that you dont have to kill dogs??? You are forced to kill a dog as Ellie which is stupid because no one wants to do that and it just seems out of character for Ellie, also how you play as Abby and you get to pet that same dog you kill and play with it... yeah I saw that its super manipulative and stupid. And just to top off my review the trailers for this game are so misleading its terrible, Naughty Dog used Joel as a marketing figure by adding him in cut scenes when he was already dead and in game he's not even in the scene and thats just scummy. This is a definite no in my book and the game honesty deserves the bad ratings. But if you like the game or you feel that you'll like it go for it but I'd at least watch some gameplay first so you know what you're getting into. Expand

Frankly, I don't understand why so many users give it a bad review. I guess they missed the point for some reason. Raging like that on a game like this just does not sound justified to me.

Agreed, P1 was an exceptional strong story, the ending was exceptionally engaging, and the follow-up to it was superb.

P2 is about something else. It's not about a satisfying end, people getting what they want, dancing unicorns on a infected rainbow.

It's about paranoia, mental decay, people going nuts in a world gone beyond nuts. It gives us insight in two people coping with this daily sledgehammer of mental abuse in their own way. And the interesting part is that those two people's lives are entwined in something resembling a chaotic death spiral of revenge and spite.

There's a (ugly, nasty, cringy) beauty in that. How they cope with their challenges, the injustice& losses they endure. It makes this story about a antagonistic struggle of GOD (capable of mercy, even when she sees so much death and inhumanity) vs the DEVIL (can't get closure on the death of a loved one who she can't forgive for what he's done) - it's complicated.

Abby beating Ellie at her game (being sneaky), then Ellie beating Abby at hers (brawling) is some kind of genius master plot awesomeness I have not seen often. Which fit perfectly in the antagonistic clash of them both against each other. We had the privilege being part of that process, understanding how it shaped their actions and their own sanity.

It made me frustrated and sad to see what Ellie has become.
It made me feel relief that there is still sanity in that distopic world by seeing Abby make the arguable mistake of giving mercy twice, even though it cost her all her loved ones. Even though I thought she just was a generic 'baddy' at first.

Maybe that is why so many people are so frustrated and give this title a bad score. They don't like what Ellie (and being the player, they themselves) become. Or maybe they just don't understand what the story is about.

That's the danger of a story that's not aimed to please the viewer. They might get frustrated, or just miss the point.

But that just makes this game a misunderstood *masterpiece* to me.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I absolutely love this game. The first few hours in were brutal to me. After witnessing Joel’s death it felt like I had witnessed my own family members death. It was hard, I wanted to put the controller down and stop but I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. The story, the graphics, the emotional rollercoaster that it takes us on is amazing. Especially all of the tiny details they added, quite amazing to find some new ones. You really have to be open minded when playing this game. This game is quite the opposite of the first. The first was about love and building that close father daughter relationship we admired so much. The second takes you into dark territory. Naughty Dog took the hard route and produced something that viewers weren’t expecting at all. I think it paid off. It tells a real story about how blinded one can be by revenge/guilt that we don’t take the time to end the cycle of violence. People say ellie lost everything. If you look closer into all of the small details I’d say the only thing she “lost” were two fingers and someone that was willing to do anything to protect her. People are mad that we didn’t get to kill Abby. By doing that, it wouldn’t have done anything. It wouldn’t have brought Joel back, it wouldn’t get rid of her grief (it would probably give her more just like we saw abby still dealing with the killing of Joel), and it wouldn’t have allowed her to forgive herself for what happened between her and Joel. I believe this game is yet another masterpiece by Naughty Dog. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's not perfect, but it is damn good.

I don't want to spend all day addressing every single issue that people have raised with this game, but I want to pick a few that I have seen:

The whole Joel thing. Devastating? Yes. That's kind of the point isn't it? Yes we all loved Joel from the first game, but where does this sequel lead if he's around? It would just lead to a bit of a rehash of the first one and I, while I can't speak for everyone, would find that a bit underwhelming. The game needed a catalyst for a change. I think if it was a different character then the impact isn't the same - if it's Ellie then not only did Joel go through everything in the first game for nothing, but we are again left with Joel having lost a daughter/ daughter-like-figure. If it was Tommy then there isn't quite that level of loss for us as players and it doesn't hit as hard. Also, lots of people have pointed out Joel's sudden stupidity for trusting these people at the beginning when in the first game he didn't trust anyone. Yes, but they've been in Jackson for years by this point - he has clearly softened slightly. When your day to day job is to patrol and kill infected to protect people then surely when you come across someone in danger you would naturally defend them and when they help you too then your guard would be let down slightly and that's all it takes.

Playing as Abby. Yeah this felt a bit strange at first, but I grew to like it. I think the strength of these games is the story telling and through playing as Abby we get depth. This depth strengthens the story - rather than just creating a game about a good guy going after a villain we have flawed people embroiled in a battle in the darkness of a broken world. The only bit I didn't like about playing as Abby was the fight with Ellie - I understand that it becomes almost the "boss level" but it felt a bit odd trying to kill Ellie and I think perhaps this could have been a cut scene instead.

With regards to there being loads of plot holes (Joel's lack of awareness, Ellie dropping the map etc.), can we try to suspend our disbelief a little bit? It is a game and there needs to be a way of progressing the story. The characters are flawed and it is inevitable that mistakes would be made. Try to think this otherwise you'd end up getting caught up in every little thing such as not getting bullets from an enemy that seems to have endless ammo while they're shooting at you.

Overall I think it's an incredible game with a strong story. No, I don't think that it is quite as good as the first one, but let's face it - sequels rarely are better. It tells an intriguing story, it has a long amount of gameplay (which I haven't even mentioned - it is great) and it is incredibly immersive. One thing I would reeeeally stress is that you make up your own mind on whether you like the game rather than basing your opinion on what strangers are saying on the internet (I am aware of the irony of me being a stranger on the internet). You don't have to hate the game or be in love with it - you can just enjoy the game.

Having watched review after review, comment after comment, and seeing the overwhelming hate for this title, I admit that I waited about a week before I decided to pick this up.

    And I wish I hadn’t.

I wish I was there on release day grabbing a copy.

Gameplay is amazing. Graphics are the best I think I’ve seen on ANY console. Acting is superb.

    And you know what?

The story is actually good. Not GREAT.....but good.

I can understand why people would be frustrated with this story, but the level of hate this title has received is, IMHO, completely unfounded and unwarranted.

It takes some chances. Sometimes it pans out. Sometimes it doesn’t.

But you will regret not taking the time to immerse yourself in this world again.

Replay value is alright. I wish that Naughty Dog would come up with some extra episodes via DLC, but it is still a title that can stand on its own.

When the people who worked on this claim that it has to “be experienced”, they weren’t kidding. It’s just one of those thing you have to play to appreciate.

Give this a chance. This is easily one of the DEFINING games for the PlayStation 4, and, I believe, a defining game for this generation.

It's better than the first one which was already in my top list. The whole movie-like experience is still there, the gameplay is improved, and the reflection around revenge and the blurry line between good and evil is spot on. It's an unparalleled, thrilling video game experience that never disappoints. Expand

This game was, first and foremost, one if the BEST games this year. Not only did it exceed my expectations on the emotional trauma department, lol, but the gameplay and graphics are immaculate.

You really are taken into the head of a 19 year old girl who is grieving a big loss and whose only therapy is to get revenge, not realizing that she is losing herself to it. Then, you are suddenly thrusted into the mind of another girl, one who has been grieving for four years without any consolation other than the deep anger and hatred that started the day her father was taken from her. You see these two people, whom both think are completely different because of their experiences in life, but couldn’t be far from the same. Both have to learn to live with the hand that was dealt to them without any warning, and live with the consequences of their own actions.

Throughout the game you are given these moments of what I like to call “calm before the storm moments” where you wish that the killing, the fighting, the anger and the bloodshed would stop because the characters deserve that peace, but it is broken and torn away by what either Ellie or Abby have previously done. You get to see Ellie fall head over heels in love with the girl she’s been in love with since forever, and get a shot at a beautiful life; you see Abby take on this older sister role to a young boy who has suffered too much for his young age. But one allows her hatred to cause a rift between her loving and caring girlfriend, and the other causes for her little brother to be harmed all to chase a dream.

It’s a story about actions and consequences, about love and loss, hatred and forgiveness, losing yourself and redemption.

Truly a remarkable game and wonderful story. A great addiction to the lore of The Last of Us.

The problem is, the first game makes it so easy to Love Joel and Ellie as characters, despite Joels questionable actions, so we naturally as players want the best for him after the events of the first game. He finally finds a daughter figure again in Ellie and then he is killed off within a few years. It just doesn't feel like the right sendoff.
Then we are forced to play as his killer and sympathize with her in a "Revenge is bad" narrative.
Its just a bleak and depressing game and it makes me regret wanting a sequel.
I get that Joel is no hero but I do think he deserved better than this. Abby did a lot of horrible stuff also but she gets to live but the main character of the first game doesn't? That is B.S.
The game also uses cheap tactics to try to make the player like Abby more.

    Pros: AMAZING visuals and landscapes.
Some good dialogue despite the poor story.
    Great flashback sequences.
    Solid Gameplay

But for a story driven game, the story being a Miss unfortunately makes the sequel feel not needed and disrespectful to the first games characters.

Loved playing every minute of this masterpiece! I had been waiting for a sequel ever since 2013 and I can definitely say Part II was worth the wait. The best game I’ve ever played for sure.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Visuals & details: Simply amazing. The small details in posture and clothes are insane, and in general it's an incredibly beautiful game.

Gameplay: While rather basic, NaughtyDog introduces some interesting concepts that creates a fairly progressing gameplay. The combat does get quite repetetive, but the introduction of new foes and combat mechanics it does work through the game.

Story: The story is captivating and keeps you on the edge at all times. The intro is very dramatic and left me confused, but I do like NaughtyDogs brave writing. With the thought of the world being in a post apocalyptic state, a lot makes sense, especially the initial scene at the estate.

The plot is quite basic: revenge/vindication. In most of those plots, the story will get quite shallow. However TLOU2 solves this in multiple ways. First off, the characters keep it interesting. I do think Ellie is quite shallow through the game, but the characters around her help give her more feelings, but more importantly I think the flashbacks fill Ellies development. The flashbacks ensure that the plot makes sense.

However, what makes the story great in my opinion is the introduction of Abby. As said previously, the plot is quite basic. But seeing the plot from another perspective at the same timeline, parallell, is in my eyes incredible. Following the story from Abby's perspective is haunting. You know what will happen, and how certain things will happen. But it also fills a lot of blanks in Ellies story which, in themselves, would be quite weak story points.

Now, there's been a lot of criticism against Abby and her story which I do not agree with. Yes, the intro of Abby is **** crazy and makes you hate her immediately. But if you cut out everything with Joel and Ellie, and just look at Abby's story, it makes sense. Therefore I believe that you need a complete neutral view on Abby to understand her character and story. All of her actions do make sense.

The progression of Abby is also a classic and fine story. The initial antagonist that starts to understand her actions and embarks on a story of change. The introduction of Lev is great and everything that happens between Abby, Lev and Yara are in my opinion fully genuine and understandable, especially if you mix in Owen. Owen is such a great character which is the foundation of Abby's turn around, and the combination of these characters makes Abby's part of TLOU2 amazing.

The side characters are all actually amazing and they feel so human, and everyone's presence make sense. Following them from two perspectives is also incredible and the first time you play as Abby in the WLF base is amazing and also depressing, knowing the fate of some of the characters.

One last point that I think NaughtDog are extremely brave with is how certain characters endings are. They're abrupt and chaotic, which some people might call "surprise deaths". In the world of TLOU, with TWO games of Ellie, Joel and others killing people off left and right, it all makes sense that one mistake equals death. I love that ND actually kills off characters. It's realistic.

All in all: The Last of Us Part II is an amazing game. The user score on metacritic makes zero sense and I believe that when looking back at this game in a couple of years, it'll be regarded as one of the greats. Graphics and game details are off the charts and is in league of RDR2 as game changing. The story and characters are absolutely incredible and the whole story kept me captivated at all times. The Last of Us Part II is just what the game series needed and is an aboslute must-play for everyone, and it's also a perfect ending to the era of PS4.

The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.

If you loved the original for its great characters and well-paced story – stay away from this game. However, if you’re aching to sink into the depths of depression, or just want to cut some throats and burn some zombies – Part II will deliver. [Issue#247, p.72]
