This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Incredibly disappointing! Combat and gameplay slightly improved from the last game, but the story is god awful. Ellie doesn't feel like Ellie. Joel's decision at the end of the last game is declared fundamentally WRONG, and he's a bad person who needs to make it right. No profound moral dilemma, just a hamfisted message about the "cycle of vengeance", and a depressing one at that. Druckmann was allowed a little too much creative freedom, and as a result, the game doesn't know what it wants to be. It tries to do several things at once, and fails intensely at all of them. Naughty Dog has broken their consistent cycle of quality, and sh*t the bed in one of the biggest franchises in
AAA gaming. The ending leaves WAY too much open to interpretation, making it impossible to predict the likelihood of a sequel. If they do make a third game, I hope they steer far away from what they've done here! 1 OUT OF 10! Joel deserved better!

Post Script: Just remembered all the early advertisements for this game, and how prominent Joel's character was in them. We were all lead to believe that Joel would be very important to this next game, and Ellie's motivation would be the death of Dina. Naughty Dog literally LIED in their advertising. DO NOT SUPPORT THIS LACK OF TRANSPARENCY BY PURCHASING THE GAME, TAKE IT FROM SOMEONE WHO PAID FULL PRICE TO BE DEPRESSED FOR 20+ HOURS! SAVE YOUR MONEY!

Really bad writing. The story is extremely divisive among fans for good reason. I did not have fun playing as Abby for over half the game, and thought the story’s theme and attempt to teach us a lesson about why revenge is bad was halfhearted and lackluster.

The Last of Us Part II is a dark, brutal, depressing, and intense ride. From the get-go, you are thrown right into the fray with hardly any time to catch your breath. I fully believe that if you want the best possible experience, it’s an absolute must to play through on Survivor. With that said, let’s dig right in.

What I enjoyed the most was the gameplay. If you play on Survivor; patience, resource management, and planning are critical. Going into each encounter with guns blazing might leave you in a bad spot in the next encounters, so you’re forced to think about how you want to take on each fight, how much resources you’re willing to spend, and utilize the environment to your advantage. Do you want to be stealthy, use your weapons at your disposal, a mixture of both, or simply avoid fighting altogether? That choice is up to you, but again, there are considerations you’ll have to make. The tension you’ll feel in each encounter will make you appreciate that momentary respite when you make it through, and gives you some time to breathe and prepare. I may be in the minority when I say I enjoyed the story despite being controversial amongst critics. I appreciate Naughty Dog’s willingness to tell a story that isn’t simply black or white. What their tale does explore is the gray area, the area that is neither right nor wrong, difficult to judge, and does not have a clear and definitive answer. It was a risk the developers took, one that many people either hate or love, but I believe it paid off in the end.

My one critique of this game is that, although I do very much enjoy the gameplay, it will feel repetitive not very long into the journey. Once you’ve seen one fight, you’ve basically seen them all with some very small variations. If Naughty Dog would have thrown in curveballs and different mechanics to deal with as you progressed, I think it could have kept things fresh and provide some really unique battles.

The bottom line is, The Last of Us Part II is a fantastic game. The world and atmosphere is beautifully crafted, and each struggle will leave you triumphant. It very much deserves your attention and play through, and so I highly recommend The Last of Us Part II.

This is the best game I have played on the ps4. It definitely doesn't pull punches and makes the story so much more interesting, it makes the world feel more real.
Art is about designing experiences, so the user feels what you intended as a designer, as an artist. Making someone feel something they want to feel is easy. The opposite requires perfection.

The narrative destroys the game and all the hard work from the game makers and the expectations from fans in the last 7 years.

Many people complain about the story. Obviously it's not as good as the first 'The Last of Us' but that does not make it a bad story and although it's just 'John Wick' except Joel is the dog, I found the story satisfying and a good enough follow up to the 2013 original. The only parts that really bothered me was Abby's side of the story, not only because I had to play as the woman that killed Joel but because her character is quite inconsistent with her actions and just as you think she's found her humanity through caring for ex-seraphites: Lev and Yara, she shows no hesitation to commit horrible acts not so long after. This problem affects some of the characters from the original but is reasonable as it's realistic that people would be different than they were 6 years ago.
    Story = 6/10
On the other hand, the audio, visuals and gameplay of 'The Last of Us II' is what makes this game incredible. At some points I didn't know whether a sound was from the game or somewhere in my house, bloody brilliant. The graphics are better than they've ever been, i wish real life looked as good. Some scenes looked as if they were taken straight from a painting backed by some beautiful scores and white noise to immerse you to the fullest extent.
    Graphics and Audio = 10
The quality of the combat depends on what difficulty you play on, if you play on the easier difficulties it will make for more options when dealing with a group of enemies, with more resources and more predictable enemy paths, but from my experience on Survivor difficulty I saw Ellie transform into Solid Snake having to make every shot count, managing the scarce resources that you have which makes for a harder but more satisfying combat system.
Apart from the combat 'The Last of Us II' offers some basic puzzles, hundreds of collectibles and some exploration to bridge between the action. This part of the gameplay is not the focus but does not become boring or slow down the pacing of the story.
    Gameplay = 9/10

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. There's only one thing that really hinders this game. The story. Everything else is excellent. The voice acting, the graphics, just the over all execution of the technical side is pretty great. I am a big fan of the first game, and i liked the simplicity of the crafting. The stealth left some to be desired but I never looked at it as a straight stealth game.

The story is.. Its just ham handed in how they try to get you to care even an ounce about the characters from the outside perspective. These characters literally come into your home in the beginning and bludgeon you're beloved character to death. While i sincerely believe their reasons why they did it, as a fan of the first game and the main characters I simply wanted one thing and that was to kill those people (in game duh). I wanted nothing to do with them but for them to suffer and be scared I was coming for them. This is not what we got. We play as them and the game gives us all these nice and caring perspectives and all the reason why they think we should like the character Abbey but really. I couldn't care less about her and her journey. I wanted nothing to do with her or her friends. I loathed the entirety of her side of the game play. I do not know what drove the writers/creators to go this route but I just can't wrap my head around why they did it. Why did they think this was a good move?

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Really I'm giving it an 8.5. 8 just seems too low.

    SPOILERS.

    OK. I'm confused.

I was fortunate enough to avoid most of the leaks, but two things I did see were A) You play partly as Abby, who's a transsexual villain and B) Joel dies (I didn't see how). For the whole game I was waiting for some big reveal that would show that Abby was transsexual...it never came. One of the main reasons people were so angry about the leaks were that she was trans. Just complete and utter nonsense. The way this game has been review bombed with 0's and 1's and 2's is really weird and honestly embarrassing.

There are problems with this game, absolutely. Some real problems. But if you're bothered that Abby is muscly...weird. If you're bothered that Ellie is a lesbian...weird. If you're bothered that a side character shaved her head because she wants to look like a boy...weird. Is it fueled with agenda? Sure. Is it pushing boundaries? Absolutely. Should it mean you score it with a 0 out of 10? Absolutely not.

Starting with the positives...what a GAME this is. I'm no gaming expert so I'm going to struggle to get all the words out correctly. But as a GAME (separate to the storyline), it doesn't get much better. Insane graphics, probably the best I've seen. The fluidity is flawless. Animations are incredible. I personally love the changes in pace between action and taking it easy. Gun play feels very satisfying. Enemy AI is very good (and adjustable). The zombies are scarier then before. The minor details are there. Sound wise it's incredibly eerie and atmospheric. The moment where you first come across the Scars and get hit with the arrow...I jumped out of my seat! The high pitched whistle, the deep throng of petrifying music as you pull the arrow out of your shoulder. Just amazing. I've seen the gameplay be labelled as boring and not worthy of a PS4 title, and I genuinely find those opinions laughable. The gameplay lived up to everything I expected. Such an improvement on part 1 (which you would expect after 7 years). But how about the story?

This is where I do have problems, and can't help but feel a little disappointed. I'm the biggest fan of part 1...my favourite game of all time. And a huge part of that is down to the incredible story...the connection between Joel and Ellie, the emotion in the cut scenes, every character that was introduced along the way, how the narrative twisted and turned. Just a phenomenal story. I did have a feeling that Joel's decision at the end of part 1 would come back to bite him. But did I think it would bite him like THIS? 2 hours into the game, with no context as to why Abby wanted to do it, after having PLAYED as Abby?! For the record...I have no issue with Joel dying. I don't even have an issue with the way in which he died. It was shocking, powerful. You felt a sense of dread. When the final blow lands and the sound goes to that high pitched screech like you yourself have just suffered a bang to the head. It was very well done. The writers are entitled to take the story how they see fit, and if that means Joel dying, so be it. I'm sad about it, I loved him, I didn't want him to die. But if that's the direction they wanted it to go, OK. Some people in these reviews have been acting like spoilt children. The problem I DO have is A) the fact we had no context as to why it was happening, B) How lucky Abby was to find herself in that situation and C) Not getting to experience the immediate reaction.

I feel it would have been better for Abby to infiltrate Jackson first. Become a member of the community. We could learn about her back story. We could understand why she wanted to kill Joel. THEN we could switch to Ellie trying to get revenge. Asking the player to be as understanding as what Naughty Dog want is dangerous, and clearly in this case hasn't really worked. And one thing I loved from the first game was the emotion, how it would have me on the verge of tears at times. The scene where Sam dies and Henry turns the gun on himself. The scene where Ellie explains to Joel how everyone she cared about has left her or died. I didn't get any of that from this game. The reaction to Joel's death is rushed. The game seemingly doesn't care about Jesse dying. The flashbacks with Joel and Ellie both could have been more emotional, fleshed out and satisfying. That's my main issue.

I ended up liking Abby. During the final fight sequence I was pressing buttons I didn't want to press, begging Ellie not to do it. I was glad she didn't. But even the way that came about, Ellie leaving practically a dream life with Dina and the baby behind, seemed silly and forced.

All in all I think it's an amazing game, slightly let down by a cluttered story, which tries so hard to make you side with a new character. The Last Of Us is Ellie's story. And I really hope they do a part 3 with a stronger narrative and a happy ending for a character we love so much.

And Joel is the lazy half baked character assassination of halo 3's death of srg. johnson.

With that analogy lets get into the actual technical stuff of this review. Is TLOU2 good NO, is it bad? NO. Would I suggest buying this game HECK NO. The game is a buggy inconsistent mess. I found roughly 3000 bugs. That as a QA tester myself I'd consider show stoppers.

Ive had enemies fall through the floor, dogs spawn from no where and many other bugs including escaping the boundaries of the map to cut what otherwise would be 28 hrs of gaming to around 7.

The only saving grace of this game is that its graphical fidelity is decent. As in take god of war at about 3k and drop it down to 1080p good. IS IT WORTH 60 USD? NO. is it worth 30 or 20? Nah still too much. I'd give it about a 15 dollar value.

TLOU2 is no masterpiece its what every other game has done and barely holds on. These 10/10 bot reviews are as bad as the 0/10 the combat is clunky and feels like a old gears of war game the plot feels like chumming for sharks. And the overall plot is about as solid as watching another half baked redone "taken" movie.

Would I say don't play this game nah, is it so bad you should avoid no. Would I say to play this game also no. For me its a 6 outta 10 cause the blatant laziness. its also very DEPRESSING. I'm using gaming analogies to avoid spoilers. But its for me just above average. If you want to play a game play something else. And I pray don't make the mistake of sinking 2 days into this game. Just wait for it to reach the like 10$ price range.

A bold, ambitious story with probably the most complex character development I've ever experienced in any medium. Best-in-class acting conveys a deep, twisted, carefully woven story in an extremely dark setting. It's sad, it's draining, it's frustrating, and it embeds itself in your heart.

All that, and it's presented to you via one of the most visually stunning games ever created.

Am I happy with the way the game ended? No, of course not. I wanted a happy ending for everyone. But sometimes people don't get what they deserve, and sometimes they don't deserve it in the first place.

Menus are unobtrusive, and you don't spend much time at all in them. Combat is incredibly fun, and replayability is made higher by a new game+, as well as being able to solve any encounter in a multitude of different ways.

Where this game shines the most is the story. The Last of Us's execution of the struggle to retain one's humanity in an utterly inhumane world is perfectly captured in the Last of Us 2. While the setting zombie apocalypse always sounds bleak or brutal, unlike other similarly set stories, TLoU2 excels in showing not only the horror of humanity, but the beauty as well. It celebrating that we can truly make life in any world, and also reminding us the depths of depravity we can fall to when that life is upset. It excels at putting us in the minds and worlds of the characters in a way that no other game ever has. The full story cannot be grasped until it's concluded, and the second playthrough is made so much richer as a result.

Post apocalyptic Seattle is so incredibly real. seeing one of my favorite cities so incredibly well rendered in a game was fun beyond words. the graphics are of such incredible beauty that I honestly was speechless at points.

In my estimation, this game is the pinnacle of video game story telling.

Gostei muito do game. Acredito que nunca antes eu havia visto tanta qualidade técnica em um game. A jogabilidade é perfeita. Os gráficos são fenomenais. As expressões faciais dos personagens são um show à parte. Para mim, o que decepcionou um pouco, foi a questão do enredo um tanto quanto "apelativo". No geral, esse game é uma obra de arte.

The soundtrack did not catch me, it is very simple and boring. The story ... well it's better not to talk about it, it's not worth it. What I loved was when Joel says to the irritating girl named Ellie, that if I had another chance I would do it again. Expand

It clearly is not for everyone, but I say that as a compliment rather than a criticism. Better to fail miserably trying to achieve something great than to make the same old wishy-washy narratives, am I right?

The Last of Us Part II is a mature story, not because of its violence and themes, but because it demands critical thinking and patience (to listen, to engage, to reflect) from its players. It never gives you short, simple answers, rather putting you in the situation of constantly needing to reexamine the characters' motivations and how do you feel about them. The game is never "trying to make you feel bad for being violent against your will", because the game is not about YOU (try and say that to the average gamer) but about deeply flawed people. These characters are the medium for this hyperbolic tale of revenge, love (yes, love, more than hate), corruption and redemption. It may sound odd to say that TLOU2 is subtle, with its explosive arrows, machetes and face-eaters zombies, but the fact that a lot of players seem to miss is that the game is never telling you how to feel about violence, revenge and the characters' decisions. It presents you with a full panorama and then takes a step back to ask: "How do you feel about this?" Considering how the audience have grown used to expect a moral lesson at the end of every narrative, it is not surprising a lot of people didn't know how to engage with this one.

I've been playing games for almost 30 years now, and I don't remember another game making me think and feel as much as TLOU2. If Part I is brilliant in its conciseness, Part II is masterful in its (organized) mess. I still need to give it some time to "breathe" before making more decisive statements, but I would not be surprised if it became my favorite game of all times. And for that I can only be thankful for everyone that worked so hard to bring this masterpiece to life.

Perhaps unlike their previous games this one is mired with ballsy decisions to its storytelling element, that while divisive, also demonstrates their aptitude to taking a risk and for that I applaud them. Story wise, you'll see shocking things happen to mire any well told novel or film, but in an age where video games have lacked a source of complex and ultimately frightful storytelling it will either stay with you long after you finish the lengthy campaign or leave you with a disdain for the franchise. Either way you look at it, it's quite telling of the path the writers have taken to differentiate their product from the rest and personally it's a home run. In terms of presentation, The Last of Us 2 is a monster. The graphics are by far the best I've witnessed on any platform, even if the PC is my personal choice. Character animations, level detail, facial expressions - it's the combination of outstanding technical direction and art style. The voice acting is absolutely top-notch and the music in certain scenes heartbreaking. Presentation wise, The Last of Us 2 is a perfect product. Gameplay remains largely the same as the first, with some nice improvements to add variety to the game like the ability to jump and swim. They're not groundbreaking by any means and sticks a bit to closely to the formula, but it feels enjoyable thanks to the many great action set pieces. I would have loved to see the gameplay evolve a lot more, but what's here is still great.

Overall: The Last of Us 2 features fantastic gameplay moments that alongside its presentation will mesmerize you to its world. Its story will be a hit or miss for many as it takes some realistic approaches that in the real world make sense, but in a market where the majority may not be used to gripping story-telling similar to other forms of media, it will rub a lot of people the wrong way. And in a way, I wouldn't have it any other way.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. First off, Wow! The technical achievements in this game makes in terms of graphics/gameplay are great! The fluidity of combat either melee/firearms, the camera angles that occur during combat, the smoothness in movement, the beautiful and disturbing enviorments, the animations, all top notch.
Storyline-wise obviously it's not as impactful as the first, but wasn't also completely against the fact that they introduced a new character as the lead role for the most part.
I'll admit at first I hated Abby (myself having a connection w/Joel from the previous game). But as the game continued a grew a soft spot for her. This game reminds me a lot of the ethics in 'Game of Thrones' where there is no purely good person as there is no purely evil person either.
There are also points where I feel the scenes are made strictly for shock value, as there are incredibly violent and sexual scenes that I thought were a bit over the top. This game absolutely not be played by anyone under 18! Or anyone who is not aware of adult situations.
The story is a real bummer. Much like other blockbuster movies nowadays "Infinity Wars, Joker, etc.", it paints a bleak picture that very much similar to actual real life. So depending whether you like the cold truth or like to escape to a better world its a matter of taste in how this ends. I definitely expected more closure, but, I guess it gives lead way into a possible 3rd game.
Overall, the gameplay superseded the story for my rating. Amazing gameplay/graphics/tech design, bleak and open ended ending.

I have listened to the soundtrack for the main game and its wonderful DLC many time when I really should have been studying. When I first played The Last of Us Part 1 I was a Year 7 high school kid, in that time much has changed for me and its wonderful to see The Last of Us grow and change with the times just as we all have. Please understand that I would be truly sad if this game was bad or even just good and to be clear it’s not perfect, for example it has more characters than the first and its pacing is not as airtight. However, the first game was imperfect as well (like any playable game) mainly on the gameplay side. I have played this game a total of 3 times on hard then normal new game plus where I got the platinum trophy and again on survivor with no NG+ upgrades. In this time I have collected over 74 hours of play as well as every collectable. In doing so I've opened ever drawer, stabbed every morally-grey guard and seen ever cutscene 3 times plus. I'm 8 hours or so deep on a fourth play through. In light of all the controversy and in order to produce an informed opinion and to truly enjoy this game I have so longed for, I have waited more than a month to write this after release. So what does all this add up to? Well in short I love this game deeply, in spite of nostalgia and the years of memories I can say that The Last of Us 2 is a better game than the first in almost every way. Before I say more as you may have noticed I am a severely dyslexic person and to finally have the option to read the many notes in the game (via the auto-read function) is so wonderful. To have a game that recognises and accommodates me and many other like me is a dream come true and I can’t tell you how much this changed the game for me, so before any more silly words thank you from the bottom of my heart. Now with that to one side, this game has lofty ambitions in both its story and gameplay, and for my money this is the best stealth game since Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Its bloodily and desperate fights, especially on survivor, are everything that I wish the first game’s combat could have been and then some (btw I love the first game’s combat and think it's underrated), with plenty of great combat arenas holding some stellar enemy design and diversity, with lots of expanded traversal and crafting options which should please new and old comers alike. Now that we've established this, I believe it is time to discuss the core of this game and easily its most controversial element: the game’s beautiful and nuanced story. When describing The Last of Us Part 2 to friends and peers I like to begin by using the example of the tone of the winter section of the first game and go from there; that is to say this game is dark and knows it. Now of course this will come as no surprise to consumers of the first game. Many of us, including myself, may be surprised to know how just dark this game gets. With this said it still maintains the alluring flickering hope of the first game, embodied in different surprising ways in its three main characters: Joel (though not in a normal way), Ellie and ?? (play to find out). For example, there is a beautiful guitar scene that rivals the likes of Bioshock Infinite, wonderful heart-warming moments like this are as memorable as any from the first game and are never far from my memory. In short, much of this game’s backlash can be summarised through its unwillingness to follow in the footsteps of its predecessor, which on the surface is a problem but in reality marks this game's intention to strive for something new. It would have been so easy to create a by-the-numbers sequel seemingly expected with the precedence established by something like Uncharted, but the game bravely refuses to sit on its laurels and in doing so creates an experience that cannot just be viewed only from the standards of the first but is something entirely new in its own right. To see this level of creativity and willingness to experiment in a big budget game like this is so heart-warming for a movie fan used to safe big budget sequels. In totality The Last of Us is nothing like what I wanted, in fact the experience of playing it humbled me and made me realise that in reality I didn't fully know what I wanted. Sitting here I'm proud to say that my preconceived ideas did not lead me to reject this game but instead to contemplate its many nuanced elements, and be thankful that I don't have direct control over everything that I love, because if I did the surprises and twists that I so loved in the first game might well not be there. In totality the first game convinced me to study writing at uni, this game inspires me to take what I've learned and go make something from it. Expand

Combat, looting and crafting is as solid as the first. New enemies keep it fresh but still creepy. It's good to think how you will engage encounters trying to reserve resources but still win some brutal fights.

I don't know how it got so many negative reviews on day one as it is a pretty long game, must be a lot of speed runners about. I can see why some people might not like where the story went so I am not disregarding all the negative reviews but the day one reviews seem fishy.

Naughty Dog!!!

The is a **** post apocalyptic world game. No one is invincible, and sad as it is Joel had already began to get old. This part gives us more insight and background on the fireflies, and it's **** brutal. I've never been more sad at a game, but that's how life is. The game is hyperrealistic, from game mechanics to telling stories within just found notes. It also is in the way that diversity is properly shownn. I can guarantee you the only people angry about this game a cishet white snowflakes that aren't used to playing a game so diverse. Also, the debate on Abby's appearence is utter **** if you care that much about a video game characters body build you must have some sort of I security issue. The last of us 2 makes some hard decision story wise, and there were some points in the game I questioned whether they were the best decision to make. But I'll stop my rant saying this: life is impulsive and sadistic already. Imagine living in that world. This has got to be the best game I've ever played. And if games like this continue to get made I'm so ready for it Expand

The story telling is great, I've never played a game that told it's story in such a way as this game. It might not been the story that I wanted them to tell and during a chapter of the game I felt annoyed in regards for how they paced the story. However when I've reached the end of the game and understood the reasons behind the pacing I can see why they went that way. I can honestly say that I've never been so emotional invested in a video game story as I got in this one. Once you finish the game I highly recommend that you listen to their official podcast as it grants you even more insight to the characters and the story they're trying to tell.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Even after a couple of weeks of going over this in my head it’s still hard to know where to start.

The biggest issue here is that this game is the much anticipated sequel to The Last of Us, which was a great game with an engrossing story. The major talking point here, and why this game is so polarizing, is the story itself.

Frankly, the story is a mess and my biggest problem is the continuity of it. The games story suffers greatly from a case of too many ideas, all trying to be be crammed in to to one encompassing volume. We expect some level of flashbacks in the story as per in the first game, but the constant switching and changing up of viewpoints is downright Tarantinoesque.

I don’t expect this could have been fixed simply by making the whole sequence linear, that's too simplistic, and there are points to be made of events happening in parallel that makes the storytelling difficult from a single perspective, if not impossible.

However, this greatly detracts from the continuity, and I never got the sense of engrossing story I did from the first game, the disjointed nature of the storytelling made it a chore to follow events to a conclusion. And when we get to the conclusion its such a jumbled mess it makes you wonder if the 30+ hours you’ve put in were worth it.

It seems that Neil Druckmann had the concept of where the story wanted to go, as a parable of vengeance, but made it so contrived that the execution of seems to have been extremely poorly managed. Whether it was the high expectations set by the first game, or he simply wilted under the pressure to resolve character arcs that were always going to difficult to manage. (You wonder how the death of a key character such as Joel could have been handled so clumsily.)

There have been some controversy about the characters, but personally, I could not care less about the sexuality, gender or musculature of the main characters. Just make them engrossing and fit in to the story without awkwardly and randomly lurching from one event to the next, breaking any sense of immersion.

There are other negatives, such as some of the combat sequences, when the controls and jagged camera angles can make for some frustrating gameplay, which can also get repetitive. But these are minor compared to the storytelling debacle.

As for the positives, the level design and environment are great and visually stunning. You can tell a lot of effort has been put in to this and the small details, for example the way water runs off objects and pools, are incredible. As a stand alone game it may have been enough to make it good, even great.

So in conclusion, the damage has been done, it’s out there now. Maybe they can salvage something from it, but it will stay with me for a while as a major disappointment – for not being able to live up to the expectations as a worthy sequel to the much loved first game in the series.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is a masterpiece and milestone in gaming. This is not even an overstatement. The gameplay and graphics are state of the art. And the story is an extremely powerful, grim, groundbreaking, and heartbreaking (in a good way) tale of hate, violence, revenge, and moral conundrums. I felt Ellie's pain when Joel was killed. I felt her rage too. I wanted to get to Abby and kill her as much as any player. But then the game made me see Abby's perspective, for which I was not ready. I did not want to play as her, but I didn't have any option. But then as the story progressed, I got to know her story, her motivations, and her pain. I was still team Ellie, but empathized with Abby too. And understood how Ellie was the clear villain in Abby's story. It takes balls to do what Naughty Dog did with this game. And they did justice to the sequel and the first game. The ending breaks your heart. And would probably haunt me for some time. Expand

Here's the best graphics on the PS4. And the best visual style in the industry. This is the first game where screenwriters explain the feelings of the characters not only in voice, but also in facial expressions and body movement. A story that's great. Double final of the game. I can only say that the opinion about the game can coordinate if not distance itself from the plot of the first part. And accept the story of Neil Drakmann as a separate statement. Everyone believes that TLOU2 is the brightest example of a game about revenge. But actually, it's a game of forgiveness. Just remember the last story video with Joel.
P.S. I am neutral towards LGBT people, but honestly did not see any such propaganda in this game. This is just a tinsel, and I sincerely feel sorry for the people who pushed this game away from themselves just for this.

Once you know the story and do a replay, you'll get bored really quickly. There are so many QTEs and given directions, you don't feel like playing the game at all. It's like watching a movie with some minigames in the pauses between the cutscenes.
Graphics are pretty, but nothing we haven't seen before, for example in Uncharted 4, gameplay is ok-ish, but with a heavy focus on grinding.

Thankfully, I got the game and realized what a mistake that would have been. I'll never again listen to Bozo's pandering to such an angry demographic. The Last of Us 2 is a fine example of going outside the box and not just sticking to the same formula that made the original such a classic. Ellie's all grown up and you can see how strong her relationship with Joel has gotten throughout the years although, there's a slight discrepancy in the relationship as a nod back to a decision that was made in the first game. All seems well as the characters have been living in a new town and have grown relationships with new characters along the way. There's a change in the story which shifts the focus - Introducing you to a different set of characters which will come as a huge shock to fans of the original, but a closer look shows how valid the motivations of these new characters are while making you question everyone's morals as you come to terms with what life would really be like in such a horrible and unforgiving world.

Gameplay wise, it's every bit as smooth as you can remember. Even better - you're faced with new creative ways to advance further while fighting (or stealthily avoiding) new versions of the infected along with human characters which seem to have gotten a lot smarter since the original game. The world is a lot bigger, making you want to check every corner of every section in fear of missing something important or just wanting to keep your weapons, ammo and crafting materials fully stocked. Speaking of which, you might want to rethink how to engage certain enemy encounters as the ammo and supplies mentioned is not as easy to obtain as it once was compared to the original game. There's no right way to go about said encounters but keeping your available items in mind can help you make better decisions as one false move can mean your life. Visually, the game is just gorgeous. From the environment you're surrounded by to the enemy animations, so much attention to detail went into it. it's really hard to explain without seeing it for yourself. it's just amazing how much was pulled off graphically, it almost feels next gen. Audio quality is also top notch. there's really nothing I can negatively say about the audio except, the Clicker freaks me out more than it did in the original. *shivers*

The Last of Us 2 is a Masterpiece. Excellent Storytelling, Visuals, Acting, Music, Sound Design and most importantly, Gameplay. I can't wait to see what Naughty Dog has in store for this franchise moving forward.

The fact that Naughty Dog made me feel and care so much about certain characters by the end of the game is a testament to their story writing abilities. It is a hard game to stomach at times. Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
