In fact I restarted it after it did a weird thing where all the enemies were stood still and, when I snuck up on them. I did this Scarecrow thing behind them. But I am loving it. I also read some of the user scores reviews on metacritic. Pretty much all of them were put up on the day of release. Meaning most of them instead of playing the game were probably sat at their PC waiting to put a negative on it after seeing the spoilers haha.

    All these reviews about how bad the story and, the ending are. All posted on the day of release. Just means that none of them actually played the game. Yes Joel dies. It's all to move the story on. Yes its upsetting but have none of you watched the walking dead?    … Expand

    I think this game is pretty good. I don’t think it’s as good as the first but it‘s a good experience. Now some parts are uninteresting to some but you have to be open minded and understand these new characters and you will actually like them. This game is an EXPERIENCE. Not just a fun game.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is an emotional rollercoaster that unlike other games makes you sympathetic to everyone in the game, including those that are seen as the villian end up being seen in the right and those who you agree with you end up disagreeing.

    TLOU2 is made to make us see that in the world of this game there is no right or wrong, only humans that try to survive and the cruelty of it. Yes this game isn't well recieved due to the death of Joel or the fact that you play as his killer for the second act. Nor when Ellie spares her in the end. But that's the point, it's meant to make you think about whether or not anyone is in the right in this game. When you play through the actions of both characters, sympathise with their own pain and see the horrible actions they commit, in the final battle you don't want them to fight, you've fought as both of them, expeiriencing their pain and witnessing the monstrous actiins they take makes you see them as neither good or bad: just human.

    As for the ending, it's meant to symbolise the act of breaking the cycle of violence, redeeming Ellie's humanity, and moving on from her loss like Abby had done with her fathers death. She had the chance to kill her, but she stopped because if she did kill Abby she would've truly lost everything, including herself. And when she returned back to her farm to try and play the guitar, it shows her how much this battle truly cost her. And when she leaves the guitar behind it symbolises her finally moving on, and her final redemption for what she has done.

    I know this review won't be helpful to most due to fan entitlement to character's and people wanting a better ending to a sequel to a beloved part 1. But ND made the right call in showing the cruelty of a dark apocalyptic world they made. This is one of the most immersive, realistic and possible game of the year titles I've ever had the blessing of playing. The only way to truly know how you feel about this game is to play the first and second games twice over, to understand the meaning of the world Neil Druckman created.

    All the 0/10 are a bunch of whiny babyes.
    It does NOT deserve a full 10 because the story just can't possibly live up to the first game, but technicaly, gampalay wise this game is fenomenal!

    El juego no merece un diez, le di diez para contrarrestar a los imbéciles que dañan un producto solo por tonterías que van desde "mataron a mi personaje favorito" hasta literalmente acusarlo de seguir un "agenda"
    LO MALO DEL JUEGO:

    -Que muy probablemente se haya explotado a trabajadores para realizarlo como en el caso de "Red Dead Redemtion 2" -Tiene varios problemas de guión que se dejan ver.

    -Presenta mal a varios personajes haciéndote difícil empatízar con ellos.

    LO BUENO: -Este juego tiene una gran calidad técnica, con una gran inteligencia artificial, gran calidad gráfica y un gameplay muy tenso y disfrutable

    -Trata bien las relaciones de varios personajes y como estos se comunican en la aventura es algo muy disfrutable ya que si bien no todos los personajes son carismáticos los que lo son, son muy memorables.

    -La duración adecuada como en el primero

    -Tal vez lo mas importante la gran inclusión de herramientas para que personas discapacitadas puedas disfrutar este titulo.

    Como reflexión y consejos final te recomiendo pensartelo bien y ignorar cualquier hate hacia el juego.    … Expand

I understand why people think characters make uncharacteristic choices, and in that sense, I understand the hate. The point of the story is to show that: 1.     I will say that it is one of the best games that 2020 will bring and I think that it is very undervalued due to this criticism, I think this game is very advanced in its time with beautiful graphics, well-worked scenarios, sharp sounds and exquisite gameplay, without leaving Behind her story and for which she is criticized, I think Naughty Dog made a **** masterpiece.

    Este juego lo tiene todo, muy acoplado a la realidad actual, una trama muy buena, con escenarios muy vivos y extensos, controles excelente, cinemáticas necesarias para entender la historia, calidad gráfica y Sonora de alto nivel, y el feeling que logra inyectar para poderse conectar con el juego, muy recomendado, único detalle por lo que no es perfecto es que hay mucha cinemática de relleno

    I want to Review the game based on Graphics, Game-play, Sound, Story, and replay ability.

    Graphics - This game is remarkably beautiful. Naughty Dog did wonderful in putting detail from characters to environment. Character facial expressions in and out of cut scenes really captures every emotion. Even in one scene you can stand in front of a mirror and Ellie makes faces and I was shocked    I want to Review the game based on Graphics, Game-play, Sound, Story, and replay ability.

    Graphics - This game is remarkably beautiful. Naughty Dog did wonderful in putting detail from characters to environment. Character facial expressions in and out of cut scenes really captures every emotion. Even in one scene you can stand in front of a mirror and Ellie makes faces and I was shocked by the detail in the animation (out of cutscene moment).

    Sound - Gun shots sound realistic and I found myself breaking glass just for fun. You can hear rain fall change from tress and leaves to roofing and streets. Voice acting is top notch, just like it was in the first game.

    Gameplay - EVERY SHOT COUNTS. Ammo is very scarce. You will find yourself at times choosing to shoot, hide, or run. Honestly, at the beginning of the game I was taking the stealth option. But towards the end I started wanting to engage into combat more. AI is dumb at times, I can shoot from a spot of grass and then crawl over to another patch of grass and they lose my position. However, if you are going gun blazing, then enemies will flank you and sneak up behind you. Friendly AI is very helpful, telling you to WATCH OUT when a enemy is coming out of no where to slap you. But friendly AI also does that really annoy thing where they get in the dang way or block a door (they do move out of your way, but still a little annoying at times). Leveling is very nice. you are able to customize guns and skill trees. NO you can not fully upgrade weapons or character so make every up grade count. The skill tree separates from stealth to fighting and to crafting.

    Story - OH BOY, I'll try to do the best I can without spoilers. I actually enjoyed the story to some degree. It seriously kept my interest and had me staying up late just to see what happens next. The message of the story is a very good meaning (at least how I interpreted it). Do I agree with everything in the story? NO, I don't but it still kept me engaged and had me wanting to see what would happen next. The ending left a bland taste in my mouth. It wasn't good nor was it bad (kind of like the first game). I just don't like bouncing back and forth in the story (being very vague there but that's intended). My favorite part with the story is that it makes it so conflicting and makes you ride a emotional roller coaster. You get to see two sides of a coin and it make you second guess characters and actions.

    Replay ability - While I wish it had some, it doesn't. Once I beat the game I was basically done. Now if you are a trophy hunter then there is a lot of work to do. It does offer a New Game+ where you can replay the game with all your gear. But for me personally I'm pretty done and satisfied.

    Over all this game is AMAZING! The big question everyone might ask is "Do you like it more than the first game?". To answer that question, No. While I do enjoy this game I felt like the first story between Ellie and Joel was much better.

    Should you Buy this game new, buy on sale, or never touch it.
    My answer is wait for Sale. This game is really good but not $60 amazing. Maybe $45 or so. And its the replay-ability that does that for me. If you like the first one then I do recommend buying the Part 2 at full price if you want.    … Expand

    A beautiful and complicated game, with high-stakes combat, incredible graphics, and a very nuanced story to tell. The seamless blend of narrative and gameplay is very well executed, and I must say that this is probably the first time I've spent a hundred dollars on a game, and it actually felt like it was worth the price.

    The game is a continuation from the first game(4yrs later). The story has expanded to a greater world which links up to what happened from the actions of the first game. Last of Us 2 has really pushed the PS4 system to it's absolute limit and it shows. The graphics and evironments is really top notch, crispy and sharp and looks awesome with HDR. The game feels so polished as well. GameplayThe game is a continuation from the first game(4yrs later). The story has expanded to a greater world which links up to what happened from the actions of the first game. Last of Us 2 has really pushed the PS4 system to it's absolute limit and it shows. The graphics and evironments is really top notch, crispy and sharp and looks awesome with HDR. The game feels so polished as well. Gameplay improves from the first game by adding more to combat, movement, new enemies and improved AI. Combat is more intense with the fact that there isn't much ammo lying around making you rethink each combat scenario whether it would be against humans, dogs and the infected. I like the new infected like stalkers and shamblers which add to the already intense combat with normal humans. I'm glad this game is longer than the first one. This game is a masterpiece. It was worth the wait. I love it. I hope they make a Part 3.… Expand

Voir des lesbiennes dans le jeu et qui plus est pendant seulement quelques minutes dans le jeu n'altère en rien sa qualité globale qui est à la hauteur de ce qui était attendu. C'est la fin du monde, Joël n'a pas toujours été une bonne personne et il a payé le prix. Ni Joël, ni Ellie ni personne d'autre dans cette histoire n'est un super héro et encore moins un immortel. Ça aurait pu arriver à n'importe quel moment et c'est arrivé. On peut s'offusquer de la manière dont c'est arrivé mais pas de pourquoi c'est arrivé. Joël est mort.     This is game is unbelievably beautiful and edgy. I have never been so emotionally invested in a game until I played Last of Us Part II. I have only finished about 16 hours of the game but this game has blown me away. In addition, I love the LGBT add on to the game. We need more games like this that bring up tough topics that most people do not want to explore. I applaud Naughty dog forThis is game is unbelievably beautiful and edgy. I have never been so emotionally invested in a game until I played Last of Us Part II. I have only finished about 16 hours of the game but this game has blown me away.     1. Ellie, Joel & Abby: All of the flashbacks between Joel & Ellie should've been played out in the beginning of the game, as events that simply follow TLOU 1 and happen in real time. Abby's flashback with Marlene & her Dad's death should have been the nightmare she was having before she wakes up when we first meet her. This would have helped the audience understand Abby better. She also should have been made more objectively likeable. She should have shown more remorse after killing Joel and other characters in the game, she should have been more sympathetic & understanding to her friends. We should get to know Abby and play as her during the same time Joel and Ellie are still alive and we're playing as them, with the same amount of gameplay for each narrative. We could cut between the two storylines in gameplay from both Ellie and Abby's adolescence to adulthood in real time.
    2. Joel's actions in TLOU 2 are antithetical to his character and don't make sense. Tommy telling them where they were from was just dumb. To solve this, they shouldn't have said anything about where they really came from and instead, Abby could have overheard Tommy saying Joel's name while in conversation, that way she could signal to her crew or say, "that's him." This would change the way the crew is acting and add to the tension, causing Joel & Tommy to be suspicious. 3: Joel's Death Scene: The next problem is the way Abby kills Joel. This scene should occur, way later in the game, with the story being built to this moment, probably widway through the story. Abbys crew should be smaller, just Abby, Owen, Mel, & Manny, who face Joel, Tommy, Ellie & Dina, all relatively in the same scene. Having her kill him by beating him to death after he saves her life does not help her case. There should have been a lot more hesitation from her to kill him (personally, I feel like he should have died protecting Ellie). In my mind, Joel should have blurted out, "I just saved your life", which would make her hesitate with the golf club in the air, Ellie pops in and shoots Abby in her hand, dropping the club. Abby pulls her gun out about to shoot Ellie when Joel manages to get in the way of her shot, saving Ellie, but now dieing. Abby is shook by her actions as she sees Ellie crying over Joel's body, holding him the exact same way that Joel held his dieing daughter Sarah in the first game. Abby, still in shock, books it with her crew before Dina catches up, finding Ellie with Joel in her arms. In this version, Ellie and Joel get to share some last words and Ellie will feel the life slowly slip away from Joel, but there will be enough life left for him to sing a little of the song Future Days while Ellie sings along. With a soft smile, Joel slips away. He just gave his life for her, and its in this moment she fully realizes why he saved her life all those years ago!
    4. New, somewhat established characters are killed off too quickly. For example Jesse is never mentioned again after he dies abruptly. Its like he never existed in the story to begin with. Instead, when Abby shoots him, it should be somewhere not immediately lethal, and Ellie should acknowledge this by kneeling down and trying to stop the bleeding, Jesse is suffering meanwhile. Abby angrilly tells her to get up, Ellie says, "hes gonna die, we need to get him help." Abby says, voice choking in emotion, "where was the help when you shot my friends dead, huh?" getting closer to Ellie. "Mel was pregnant!" Now the gun is near Ellie's head. Jesse bleeds out, not able to speak and is now dead. Ellie closes his eyes, shaken by what's just happen and slowly stands up. She says to Abby, solemnly, "Listen, I know why you killed Joel, I get it. But this needs to end, now. No more blood shed." Abby can reply, "You should have thought of that when I gave you two the chance to live, but instead you waisted it by coming back. And now, two more people I love very much, are dead," she starts to cry. The events that come after that can play out in a similar way they do in the game.
    5. Abby's Look makes no sense: Her head did not match her manbody. She has a feminine face and a very masculine, male body. She looks more realistic at the very end of the game than anywhere else. She has a built body, but more naturally framed to what a built woman would look like, and she has a haircut that fits her better than the braid. She should have looked like this the entire game, it was sorta badass. Her character look needed to fit who she was, which was a straight woman. Her sex scene should have shown this somehow, there sould have been more "love" in this love scene. Instead, because of her body, it is off putting.
    6.The trailers should have been more honest. People should have not been decieved, thinking that cetain scenes in the trailers will happen in the game, but instead they happen as flashbacks when he is younger, or with other characters.    … Expand

    Joel's death is justified, Abby is a great character and the story, while it lacks consistency at some points, is extremely solid. Many people are angry about the end but what I can say about it is that it makes sense for Ellie and the narrative as a whole. If you didn't saw that, you should be analyzing more what is happening.

    Naughty Dog did it again and even if I was doubting them at some point because of the rocky path towards release, I'd still spend those $60 on this game. Worth every penny.

    Mmm... Como decirlo, en lo personal y fuera de lo que muchas personas pueden llegar a decir, a mi me encantó
    A mi me pareció un juego muy bien logrado en su totalidad con algunos pequeños "pero" así que fuera de eso me encantó. No sé por qué el hate hacía el mismo, bueno se que todos han de tener razones para tacharlo de un mal juego pero para mí no lo es y cada quien tiene su opinión.

    I played Tlou on ps3 and I bought ps4 only for Tlou2. I am not disappointed. I like the story line, amazing dialogues and music, the details are at a very high level, the best gameplay system in the world. I love everything in this game. Just like in the first part I waiting for multiplayer mode, I hope it will be soon.

The part where you played Abby was a little bit boring to me because i couldn’t sympathize with her, nevertheless this was a pretty solid part of the game. The story is in my opinion great but I was not amused by 1-2 choices in the game.
    The cutscenes are great as well the voice acting.

    In the first place - the game is great. If you really want to feel intensity of it, do not wantch anything on internet as it spoils all the fun and ruins the moment of surprise. It is similar to Game of Thrones - if you knew how Rob Starks wedding would end, it would not be same as when you watched it without knowing how that wedding ends.

If your negative review is based in any way on the mere existence of LGBT characters, f*ck off. Your opinion of the game and your worldview are worthless. With that out of the way let me get into the game. Yes Joel dies early into the game, this game doesn't give plot armor to main characters. They are mortals who can easily be ambushed and killed. I should also mention that the theme of this game was stated to be hate, and so what better to drive that point home than a "pointless death" of a lead character early on. Ellie is left reeling from witnessing the death of Joel and does the thing that I think most people could relate to on a primal level, goes for revenge. Here is where I want to address one of the main critiques of the story I personally have seen. Yes the major arch of the game is a revenge plot. That is an archetype and completely fine for a game. It even plays heavily into the common truism that "Seek revenge and you should dig two graves, one for yourself." With that being said, the sheer violence and in your face behavior of the storytelling puts this in a league of its own. The deaths in this game are brutal, the killing nondiscriminate. It is this very violence that further drives home the point being made here. Yes revenge can be deadly, but moreso it doesn't take away the trauma of loss. It is this realization that Ellie has at the end. This is why she doesn't kill Abby. This narrative decision is far bolder than simply having her kill the character, and in my opinion far more impactful. Some will see that statement and argue that all of the killing done to get to that point is made pointless for this reason. What they would fail to understand is the killing was pointless either way. Ellie successfully taking revenge would not vindicate those she lost, nor would it justify the senseless loss of human life that led to that point. Ellie, like Abby and Tommy, let hatred consume them, and that cycle of hatred caused them to lose everything. Even Lev experiences the same consequences of hatred, though it is due to his love for the one who hates him that inevitably causes him to lose everyone dear to him. That is to say that the consequences of human prejudice and hatred are cast upon both perpetrator and victim equally. The cause of the war between the WLF and Scars is left it seems purposely vague to accentuate the fact that the constant deaths on either side are casualties of hatred. I could go on and on with intricacies of how layered the narrative of this game is, but it would likely fall on deaf ears. It seems that the majority of the community doesn't appreciate this form of storytelling, and frankly we are worse off for it. That being said, everyone is entitled to their opinion and in my opinion this game is an absolute masterpiece. It perfectly contrasts the themes of the first game, which was the stated intention, and delivers a heart wrenching story worthy of your time and money. I would say that the main takeaway of this game is that humanity is its on greatest enemy, and society (at least this post outbreak society) is doomed to destroy itself. There is hope presented at the end of the story, almost an homage to the hope presented in the first game, as the fireflies are said to be gathering numbers again, and who knows, with time perhaps they could rebuild. I know this review has been long winded, but I feel I must add that I do not intended to imply that if you did not enjoy the themes of the game you are lesser in any way. This isn't a "rick and morty fan" type review where I feel as if the people hating on the story are simply too stupid to understand its complexities. I think people understood it quite well, but being that it stands in direct contrast with the first game they don't enjoy it as a sequel. I'm giving this game a 10/10 for the emotional journey it dragged me on over the past few days.… Expand

PS: it’s full of all the cool stuff from the first part that we all loved: fighting infected (with new additions that are really challenging), fighting enemies with incredibly realistic gameplay, new weapons, prone position for stealth missions, sniffer dogs & fight scenes so intense you hold your breath. The cinematic features & graphics are out of this world, and the ‘agenda’ (aka Ellie being gay & Lev being trans) has no real relevance to the story but is just a part of the characters’ stories and **** brilliant. The first one is the way that they killed Joel, and the second is the way that they force us to play as Abby. Firstly, I want to talk about the first problem. I think a main character that is beloved from every player shouldn't be killed like that. The progression in his character from first game has just thrown into the garbage. I would accept that death scene if he was more cautious as before the scene could be written differently. But if you still wanna go with this, at least you should show us how his character has changed over the years. Like more flashbacks that shows Joel is changing, becoming less cautious and vulnerable because of his relationship with Ellie.
    I think the second problem is bigger. After nearly 10 hours of gameplay, the only feeling that I have was to finding and killing Abby. I think most players felt that. However, after 10 hours of game play, writers decided us to play as Abby! For nearly 8 hours. That's just unacceptable. If you want us to love this new character, which killed our beloved Joel and we spend 10 hours hating her, and bond with her this is not the way. I think if the chronological order of the story has changed this problem would be overcome. Like before Abby kills Joel we could have hear her story, and "maybe" sympathize with her. Or at least, in my personal opinion at the scene where Ellie and Abby standoffs at the theatre, we should definitely play as Ellie. I HATE THAT PART. I killed Abby thousand of times in that part because I have no sympathy or love for her. She is just a new character that killed my favorite character. When we pin Ellie down to the ground and forced to hit her, I quit the game and try to keep calm.
    However, I would say that they made some parts of the story well. The flashbacks were amazing. We see the bonding between Ellie and Joel. The birthday flashback scene made me cry. Actually lot of scenes apart from Abby made me cry. I have waited 7 years to hear about what will happen to Ellie and Joel. I was expecting Joel to die but, what will happen to Ellie afterward was a thing I didn't know.
    I think if we neglect Abby's part from the story and look it on the side of just Ellie the story is sublime. The emotions that the story put me through was hard. And the ending scene, oh the ending scene got me so hard. I'm crying for two days now. The scene where Ellie tries to play guitar after her fingers are chopped is... Hard.
    Anyway, as you can read in this review I'm mad at the game but I cannot be angry and hate it. I've waited 7 years for this and the story of Ellie just hit me.

    Ps: They will probably continue with the story of Abby and Lev in the 3rd game. I think the Abby parts from the game should come as an DLC maybe? I don't know. Thanks for reading. And I hope someone feels the way I do.    … Expand

The game allows you to play in different ways, you can just go all forward pew pew Rambo mode.(It's hard but possible) Or you can go full stealth with a new talent tree.

    In general very few bugs so far and very smooth and fun gameplay. (I'm playing in Normal difficulty)
    Visually speaking, I'm playing on a first-generation ps4, not a ps4 pro. And Damn it's pretty, the PlayStation fans are screaming all the time, but The game looks great. The sound is also great, I found myself deeply invested in the environment trying to stealth kill some clickers and the sound definitely helped me into the emersion.

    Story-wise so far so good a bit predictable and expected, nothing new, some cliches here and there, but good fun and interesting, not the best narrative in the world. But definitely OK.

    So far I would give the game an 89 and my seal of approval.
    It's not a game for everyone, but it's definitely a great game. If you are thinking if you should buy it or not. I would say do it.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I love the game. However, I just can't accept what Naughty Dog did with the main antagonist. Her origin story and character development was good but I don't feel great playing her for almost half of the game.

    Definitely it has different narrative, the first "Tragedy-Drama" game that I've encountered. It challenges the player's stance and moral regarding Hate and Guilt. Could have been better if players have the power to choose how the game ends. Well I guess it is what it is.

    Performance and technical wise the game is at the top. I have no complaints with these aspects whatsoever. Naughty Dog obviously gambled with this game. I wish they've found all the praise and criticism helpful for their next project.    … Expand

    Best game i've ever played. Anyone will be on a great journey and will learn a lot about new and old characters, but a lot about himselfs too. A great masterpiece with a perfect ending, I love it! Thanks Naughty Dog for this game

    This story is not trash at all. I understand what ND was going for. The idea is absolutely brilliant. It is just the execution of that story that is a little bad. It would have been better if Abby was developed as a likeable charecter early on in the game. And instead of Joel saving Abby...Abby should have saved Joel... Then it would have made sense why he let his guards down... otherwise it is a masterpiece    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. People are giving TLOU2 hate just because Joel died and they claim that he was the hero of the last game. Joel is a terrible person and more than deserved what was coming to him. The only problem I had with TLOU2 was that the pacing was really off along with abby's story, you give medicine to this girl but it doesn't matter because she just gets killed anyway. It just wastes your time. The story is also very contrived, things just happen and people just show up randomly throughout the story.… Expand

    I don't give a **** about lesbians and etc. This game is awesome, yeah, maybe plot is different from that, which we saw in first The Last Of Us, but come on, the new plot is also worth it.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
