    played the game through in a few days. graphic and gameplay are awesome and i really like the story. its not predictable and has a lot of plot twists.

So, the game makes you feel bad in the first 2 hours, it makes you wanna put it down, but as you keep and getting to know the reasons why the characters do what they do, you start to empathise with them, it's just so human, and so well made, the voice acting is top, animations are top, graphics are top, gameplay is crazy good, is terrifying, is heart breaking, its just so sad but at the same time so good. I wish that you by reading this, even if you hate the game, try and give it a chance and give it a couple of days to thing about everything that happened.. The best media that i have ever encountered. Nothing gets better than this..… Expand

    In my opinion I believe this game is amazing. I’m pretty bummed that they killed off Joel even after seeing that trailer showing him good and alive. Throughout the whole game I thought he was alive somehow, and seeing Jesse saying his line just caught me off guard, and made me emotional knowing that Joel was actually dead. Honestly there were many moments that caught me off guard. Like playing as Abby. It was boring at first, but learning bout her life made me more intrigued. When Abby shot Tommy in the theater I lost all hope about the game, but seeing Tommy alive in Ellie, and Dina’s house was relieving. I get a lot of people think the story is a little cliche but Ellie lives in a whole different world than ours. Her world is full of evil evil people that will do anything to survive. This is a world without boundaries and laws, anybody can get away with anything. Joel has killed and crossed many people throughout his life it would only make sense for someone to come after him. I had a deep connection to the game because I know how Ellie felt loosing someone close. Waking up the next day knowing they aren’t there that you won’t be able to talk to them. Also knowing that their killer is out there living their life without no repercussion, I would like vengeance as well. Ellie had issues with Joel and knowing that arguing was the last thing they did would bother me as well. This game will make you emotional. I been waiting for this game for over 7 years and I don’t regret buying or even playing it.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The game is brilliant. It's Visually beautiful and the gameplay is great. The first game is probably my favourite game of all time. I think I played it through 5 times. The sequel did not disappoint. The story is heartbreaking and engaging and contains some great character arcs. To be honest as soon as this game was announced I knew that character was dead, there wasn't much further for that story to go. I really enjoyed the new characters. I was still pissed at Abby when I first started playing as her but loved her by the end. Some people want sunshine and rainbows in the post apocalypse but its a world with no heroes.… Expand

Aunque no le pongo 5 estrellas por la forma tan tonta en la que matan a uno de los mejores personajes de todos los vídeo juegos, me refiero a Joel, si bien es "justificada" su muerte deberían de haberlo matado de una forma épica en la que el jugador piense que en verdad valió la pena la muerte del mismo, y no algo tan burdo como lo fue. También pienso que es una gran estafa el hecho de que Elli perdone la vida de Abby pero no haya podido perdonar a Joel por haberle mentido en el primer juego, gracias a él hizo y vivió muchas cosas, incluso formó un tiempo una familia gracias a seguir con vida y no pudo perdonar a Joel.... Vamos, que gran estafa, por lo demás es un gran juego, pudieron haber hecho mejor las cosas pero ni modo, es lo que hay.… Expand

    A solid 8/10 from me. Although I like part 1 more, I still had a lot of fun playing part two. My only point of complaint is that I wish we could play as Ellie a bit more. That and the story pacing felt a bit off. I dont like when the story jumps left and right in forms of flashbacks. I am not a fun of it. But other then that, a very solid game.

I get why people aren’t happy, because Joel was such a great character. But, the story picked up and it’s really great.     Fantastic game and story. Powerful, emotional, and thought provoking. Definitely a case of you should play before giving an opinion unless you don't like violence then that's ok if you don't wanna play, but not "I heard something happens that I don't like so F this game. No one play it! It's awful even though I have no context!"

    I personally think this game doesn't deserve 0 or 1 rating. Its really harsh rating. It's one of the best graphics, combat and stealth game I have played in a long time. It's a masterpiece on PS4. Yes I agree that forcing to play as Abby for half of the game is not fair and with her fight with Ellie I purposely died many times and wanted to put down my controller.     Pro -It is a great game with a visceral story and it improves the mechanics of the first one,
    Con -the story over uses flashbacks and and is often over the top.

    Story wise is totally eclipsed by the previous entry

    Cormac Mccarthy-esque in execution. I don't think I've experienced a story as soul destroying and enthralling since Berserk or The Road. Revenge always ruins lives and costs more than one could imagine the could lose along the way. Brilliant acting and motion capture. Amazing graphics and combat/stealth mechanic s. HBO has their work cut out for them to adapt this.

    Great game loved it In every way. Such a sad story being told the whole time but that is just what the world of the last of us is about. Can not wait for the multiplayer in the future. Thanks again Naughty Dog.

    Tout simplement le meilleur jeu de l'année. Graphiquement pas besoin d'en parler. Une histoire incroyable et des choix qui certes peuvent nous énerver, frustrer ou surprendre mais qui au final sont les bons. Des scènes très émouvantes qui nous plongent complètement dans le jeu. Une suite qui a malheureusement était entaché par des leak et des polémiques qui n'ont pas lieux d'être.Tout simplement le meilleur jeu de l'année. Graphiquement pas besoin d'en parler.     First off, Joel is an Anti-hero. The first game was NEVER wholly Joel's story and he was not some beloved character. This ain't Disney. He was a deeply flawed man that made a choice that had severe consequences. He created a vicious cycle with the choices he made. Part 2, even with having to play Abby, was a beautifully told story with super strong themes. Yes, the gameplay was sometimes repetitive and not perfect, but the STORY is, in my honest opinion, a masterpiece. I honestly believe this.

    I didn't hate Abby. It was made clear that these two (Ellie and Abby), in another life, could have been very very good friends. We had 2 protagonists and 2 antagonists. As for Joel; this is how life goes. Joel didn't die a magnificent death, and if you thought he should have, then you haven't been playing and understanding how the world of the Last of Us works. Majority of people don't get to die gloriously; look at every other death in the game -no matter the character. Death is sudden and always unexpected, and it's still miserably hard even when it's not.

    The Last of Us 2 is NOT a bad game. People who think this game is bad just because Joel dies or dies commonly can't see the whole picture, or simply don't care to dig deeper to understand and accept it. It's not a revenge story. It's a story about love, hate, loss, and letting go in order to begin healing. It's about grief. And it hits so damn hard. It's about figuring out what it's like to lose parts of yourself and learning how to heal and cope with that. It's about choosing to end a very viscous cycle of selfishness.

    On the highest difficulty to me, even with the tedious flashbacks, the gameplay was a solid 7.5/10 for me. I had FUN. The story, however, was a 10/10. It wrecked me. Well done, Naughty Dog. I don't know about the plans for DLC or if there will be future installments, but you bet your bottom dollar I will be one of the ones to purchase whatever is to come.    … Expand

    It is actually a normal game, but it's not deserve so low user score. My truly score is about 7/10. There are many inconsistencies in the plot, to which I personally did not particularly pay attention. From the middle of the game, you start to get tired and try to run the game faster. And then you stop noticing a wonderful study of locations. But the first half of the game is beautiful.

    Crude story about the path to forgiveness. May not be a story for everyone, but that is no reason to hate. I personally liked the story, end up wanting the villain to succeed at some point.

I must said the history it's amazing there's so much going on every minute of the game that keeps you wanting more after every session I played. The game its not perfect I think at some point the game mechanics started to be more like ugh why do have to this atfain. ? The lack of choices during during some important moments like killing certain characters should had been a player choice And change the course of the game making a different endings. Spoilers next be aware.

    Example of that could be when playing Abby kill Ellie or when playing Ellie have the choice to kill Abby. Same goes for the characters you encounter during the gameplay like Jesse, Yara, Mel, Owen even Lev.

    Another thought it's Ellie immunity, virus and infection was left behind like it's not important. With that said this game its an amazing experience I enjoy it every minute.    … Expand

    Punto número 1 los graficos, son realmente exelentes me atrevería a decir que los mejores que e visto hasta la fecha y estoy realmente sorprendido de como puede mi ps4 rodar algo tan maravilloso.
    Punto número 2 la jugabilidad, realmente se siente una diferencia con respecto a la jugabilidad de la primera entrega teniendo en cuenta que han pasado siete años; el juego está adaptado a la experiencia con cada personaje por ejemplo con Elie serás mas rápido y ágil en cambio con Abby serás más fuerte y lento, estás diferencias se hacen notar, me gusta que al pasar de los años han sabido mantener la escencia del the last of us en la manera de moverte lá forma de apuntar, la interacción con los menus y la forma de contar la historia.
    Punto número 3 la historia, la historia no es fácil de entender pero realmente es una buena historia una historia realista una historia de "the last of us" un mundo donde puede pasar cualquier cosa dónde nunca sabes si estás completamente seguro, aunque la muerte de varios personajes sean duras es entendible por qué pasa cuando comienzas el juego no entiendes nada solo estás completamente deleitado con unos gráficos exelentes y un poco confuso por la muerte de uno de nuestros personajes favoritos, la muerde de Joel es entendible te muestra que todo lo que se hace en el mundo de "the last of us" tiene consecuencias y por mucho que nos duela Joel hizo cosas muy malas, talvez no merecía morir de esa manera pero fue una muerte realista dónde puedes notar el resentimiento y sed de venganza por parte de abby; al inicio el personaje de abby no me gustaba nada pero al mostrar su historia comienzas a entender que ella realmente no es mala persona sonó quiere cuidar de los suyos (cómo Elie ), con la historia ya desarrollada podemos ver a Elie totalmente aferrada a una venganza que no la va a llevar a ningún sitio y se hace más daño a ella y a los que la rodean, por otro lado tenemos a Abby con su sed de venganza ya sanada y talvez cometió el error de tomar venganza en el pasado pero entendió que realmente no vale la pena y solo quiere estar en paz con ella misma; el final es un poco triste y decepcionante a la vez por qué un personaje que tanto nos gusta como Elie está rodando el borde de la locura por una venganza sin sentido y sinceramente no me parece mal el enfoque que le quisieron dar por qué si lo piensas son acciones muy humanas acciones que nos caracterizan y no queremos mostras talvez por eso el juego está recibiendo tantas críticas negativas de gente que no supo entender la historia y no supo entender que Elie y abby son humanas con sentimientos en común y maneras diferentes de procesar una situación, nos enseñan que un final no siempre va a ser un final feliz, creo que the last of us es un juego realista y sus historias nunca se enfocaron en hacer un final feliz si no una historia buena con sentido y sentimientos de por medio.
    Punto 4 extras qué en mi opinión le faltaron el juego, la música, creo que la música es parte esencial de un juego no digo que la música sea mala solo pienso que hay momentos dónde deberían hacer que la música brille más, que le dé esa escencia que tenía el the las of us parte 1 con su legendaria banda sonora    … Expand

    Absolutely one of the best games I have ever played, I don’t understand why so much hate is being directed at the game. I’d understand it if most of the hate was just from people who didn’t like it but maaaan they take it to a whole new level, not to mention all the homophobia, transphobia, and anti-semitism I’ve seen. Graphically, narratively, and emotionally, this game is a masterpiece,Absolutely one of the best games I have ever played, I don’t understand why so much hate is being directed at the game.     This is an excellent, exciting, magnificent journey. Throughout the game, you become attached to the characters, empathize with them, as if you went all the way with them. This game certainly deserves a score of at least 8, all the stupid claims and understatements seem just stupid compared to what emotions you experience after passing it.

    TLOU 1 is one of my favorite games of all time, and I am glad to say that the sequel improves upon the original in almost every way. Some people will love the story, others will hate it. Everyone owes themselves the chance to find out.

    A pesar de todas las criticas negativas que a recibido este juegazo, yo lo considero de lo mejor que he jugado, me dio una experiencia de juego que no recordaba desde god of war, y aunque el final no es lo que ninguno de nosotros queríamos lo disfrute mucho a pesar del sabor amargo que te deja al terminarlo.

    Este es un juego que de principio a fin te clava con su historia, con sus personajes y su desenlace. Hay muchas formas de comenzar odiando su historia, pero aún así logras poder hilar todos los acontecimientos y formas un gran juego, una gran obra de Niel Drogman. No es solo decir que es fanatismo, para nada, el juego tiene sus errror pero no le quita que tiene una maravillosa jugabilidad,Este es un juego que de principio a fin te clava con su historia, con sus personajes y su desenlace. Hay muchas formas de comenzar odiando su historia, pero aún así logras poder hilar todos los acontecimientos y formas un gran juego, una gran obra de Niel Drogman. No es solo decir que es fanatismo, para nada, el juego tiene sus errror pero no le quita que tiene una maravillosa jugabilidad, una atmosfera increible.

    Ellie una vez más se nos muestra como una persona fuerte y capaz de poder hacer todo lo que se propone. Claramente muchas de las personas no entieron su final, ni mucho menos sus personajes. Claro que el final se entiende, solo alguien con mucha "kk" en la cabeza no podría entenderlo y si haz puesto la suficiente atención y haz captado todos y cada uno de sus indicios podras entenderlo de la manera en la que se debe.

    No es un "mal juego", no esta ni cerca de ese termino. Es un juego increíble, algo que le da inicio a una nueva era de jugabilidad, de gráficos, de historias. Las personas ya están acostumbradas a la tipifica historia feliz, que haces lo que querías y se acabo, sin siquiera saber el trasfondo de lo que lograste y de lo que conlleva hacer todo lo que haces o haz hecho.

    Ellie no es como Joel, no es el personaje que hace mil cosas sin siquiera pensar, sin siquiera tener sentimientos. Así es el caso de Ellie, quien siempre tenía sentimientos, quien siempre sufría por alguna rezón y se la hacía difícil hacer las cosas.

    Pero bueno, oh hay muchas opciones, no lo jugaron ni por cerca o no lo entendieron en lo mas mínimo el juego.

What bothered me the most was the ending, not only does Ellie not kill Abby but just lets her go.. but it was the fact that Ellie was literally left with nothing. Dina is gone who knows where, Joel is dead (and the way they killed him was TRASH), AND WHAT HIT ME GARD WAS THE FACT THAT ELLIE CANT EVEN PLAY THE GUITAR ANYMORE REALLY..SO SAD And of course I wish The writing went a different way I hated the writing at first but now watching the interview with Ashley explaining their technically wasn’t really a true villain in this game and you’re really all of them in the interview explaining the point of you and how to take away the plight really made me look at it different in put a higher score of this game because it made me not think about it too emotionally. but what I said in my original rating still stands specifically about wanting the part three PLEASE DO A PART lll… Expand

    Fantastic gameplay, beautiful graphics, amazing captivating story. they have really built up the world where part 1 left off. Some great, well developed new characters and alot of loose ends tied off. After completing this for the first time I can say with absolute conviction that this is a defining game for this generation of console. Probably the most I have enjoyed any game on the ps4. 10/10

Considero que en la parte en donde conocemos a Abby, es en donde empezamos a comprender más que escenas anteriores, las consecuencias de la venganza. Una historia que brilla por si sola, no se le puede comparar con la primera entrega, puesto a que la parte 1 tiene lo suyo y brilla también por sus propios méritos. Esta entrega, en mi opinión, pone en un contexto mucho más realista a los personajes, logrando contagiar un sin fin de emociones. El final, totalmente desgarrador y reflexivo. Observar como cuando ya todo esta perdido muchas veces, incluso la venganza que en un principio fue motor del desarrollo de toda la trama, pierde sentido al reflexionar sobre si de verdad vale aún la pena lograr dicho cometido.     More refined combat from original TLOU with best visuals I've ever seen. Story is quite a mixed bag and definitely could've been improved with some small changes to events and the pacing, but overall I do not get the hate for this game. First game's story was a lot more solid I believe, but this game still holds it's own and is certainly worth playing.

When i actually went deeper to see why the game is hated, like 50% of them are because Eliie is gay? Seriously? Like are humans that abysmally pathetic now? Our race is homophobic against a video game character? 2nd thing was false marketing, which i have to agree on, was pretty bad on their part. But false marketing doesn't make the game bad, it makes the developers bad. I noticed that half the people didn't even play the game, like literally, some comments were "the controls are hard", "the story is monotone", "the characters are dumb" and then the same people go on saying how Doom Eternal was the most original game ever (no offense, like the game, but that's just false). All and all Joel's death was explained and it has a legitimate reason, he isn't killed just because. The story is nowhere near bad written imo. The characters are pretty iconic and i definitely don't mind Ellie being gay, i actually understand it in an apocalyptic world. You really can't pick whatever you want, so you are more welcome to experiencing new stuff. right?… Expand

I finished the game 3 days ago and earned the platinum trophy too just yesterday, it took me some time to process the game and the ending, and in my opinion there couldnt have been a better ending.. and yes one thing i was pissed about was Joels death, its not that ppl are enraged that u killed joel, they are upset because of the way they killed Joel. Ppl should realise that the game revolves around hatred and revenge, and both ellie and abbys story run parallel, at one hand ellie is furious and enraged wanting to get revenge crossing every obstacle in her way and at the other hand Abby is struggling after the stuff that went through, point is NO ONE IS THE GOOD GUY HERE, its the hate and coping with losing a loved one, the ending also in my opinion couldn't be better because if ellie would have killed abby, im sure she wont feel satisfied considering that she saw abby taking care of Lev, plus Abby has lost enough, all her friends family, she wasnt in the WLF anymore and all that, Sure ellie killed all the friends and did violent **** but that was in s fit of rage and anger, thats what naughty dog forced us to do to feel the anger, in the end Ellie was the bigger person cuz she didnt kill abby, in conclusion id giv this game a 9/10, notice how i only talked about story here yeh because if i start talking about the gameplay ill be here all day, the gameplay was **** sick and fun as ****… Expand

I had a great time with the game and the story put me through so many emotions. I loved it. The ending may not be perfect but I still feel it was unfortunately the only way they could of ended the game. Overall a amazing game

The risk of killing Joel off was a risk but it needed to happen, we are meant to hate (core theme of the game) Abby and see her actions justified. The game does not deserve the hate, it is a great game with strong gameplay and a powerful story, that really makes you question is revenge necessary or does revenge only lead to more revenge (a circle). The game alos encompasses strong symbolism at the end where Ellie loses her ability to play the guitar her last connection to Joel. The game has left the door open for a part 3 but can also end here with part 2.… Expand

    i don’t understand why this game got all this bad wrap since it’s launch. i enjoyed the game a very good amount, even though the story was hard to follow in some instances i don’t believe it was a terrible story by any means. it did what it could to build off the success of the first game. i feel as if most of the bad reviews are of the fans who wanted the same game again and that justi don’t understand why this game got all this bad wrap since it’s launch. i enjoyed the game a very good amount, even though the story was hard to follow in some instances i don’t believe it was a terrible story by any means. it did what it could to build off the success of the first game. i feel as if most of the bad reviews are of the fans who wanted the same game again and that just doesn’t work in the video game industry. games need growth and variation. this game drawled me in and made me stay on the couch scouring Seattle for all the collectible and story i could find hours at a time. not everything is perfect in this game either, it has some flaws. particularly for me the gunplay just wasn’t all that great. the aim assist felt very stiff and didn’t want to work at times. in the end i really enjoyed the game and what it did to continue the story of “THE LAST OF US”. i’m very hopeful for a part III… Expand

    I’m going to steer clear of whether or not I loved or hated it, but I will offer some perspective on why I think the themes were important.

    I see this game from a perspective of someone that has had to sympathize with a lot of different people that were very unsympathetic. The last of us isn’t about the characters from TLOU1 (Complaints about Tess? Didn’t think so). That’s the    I’m going to steer clear of whether or not I loved or hated it, but I will offer some perspective on why I think the themes were important.

    I see this game from a perspective of someone that has had to sympathize with a lot of different people that were very unsympathetic.

    The last of us isn’t about the characters from TLOU1 (Complaints about Tess? Didn’t think so). That’s the problem with complaining about any given character being in the spotlight.

    The story is about the last of humanity. By changing the narrative to a different set of characters, it moves the story along. By tying Ellie in, there is some continuity but the problem is that if all you came for is the hope of continuing to use the same characters over and over, it remains forever stagnant.

    We don’t own this world, and there are lots of stories to be told about what humanity would be doing fending for itself. In such a hard climate, we have to remember that each character could stumble and fall at any moment and meet a very inglorious death. That is the reality of such a world. Joel made a lot of people meet those ends in part 1. No tears for those people? Didn’t think so.

    We praised George R. R. Martin’s book series for being fair and equal to the characters, no matter how much you loved them. Goodness was rewarded with nothing. Don’t get me wrong, if I want to just see “life” happen, I can look outside my window - so I want this game version of “life” to be compelling and dramatic. I want there to be surprising plot twists and turns. I want there to be epic consequences to actions. Sometimes I want what I think to be the “bad” guy to not get their just desserts. If there is going to be unfairness, I just want there to be a good reason to go there. And to tell you the truth, I think there was a good reason for lots of unfairness here.

    But the lesson I think that was learned here was that lots of times in both games, characters had the option to be less cruel, to turn around and go home. Joel could have not taken Ellie across the country in part 1 (remember, he was smuggling her). Ellie didn’t have to go on her journey. The mysterious woman didn’t, either. The consequences for their journeys, for doggedly pursuing those goals was to learn a harsh lesson - you take risks and pay for them. Turns out the first game had a MUCH longer ending. We just had to wait 7 years to see it.

    If it upsets you that good guys can do bad things, or that bad guys can have sympathetic sides, life is going to be upsetting. Bad guys perform kind acts, good people meet unjust ends. That’s... life. TLOU1 started with a stab to the heart. The world isn’t meant to be fair, and justice is a floating concept. That is what The Last of Us as a series is meant to represent. Humanity as a whole is many stories. When you zoom out, we talk about things like “countries” and “society” as if any of those things actually mean anything at all, but when you zoom in with a microscope it gets downright complicated.

    Each person you pass by on the streets got up in the morning, put on clothes, had thoughts, had emotions, and had a story before going by you for thirty seconds. If they bump into you or were rude to you, you might think of them as a terrible person - but they think the same of you - and you then forget them. Ships passing in the night. But they forget that you too had a story that led you to them.

    If a main character wants justifiable revenge, well, that’s easy to sympathize with. And don’t get me wrong, I root for lovable main characters. Don’t we all?

    But the original Last of Us was such a good game because we rooted for Joel in spite of his evil past. And Joel’s selfish actions are easy to forget because his story is one of redemption. In doing what he wants, we forget that his actions change the world around him, for better or worse. We forget that before we met him, he was a different man. We only see him in the original for 30 hours, and the reality is that he was a terrible person for 20 years. We sympathize with him because he shows affection for a little girl and with that we rationalize what the story tells us of the evil he wrought.

    Don’t get me wrong, I am selfish. I would make the same choices. You are meant to feel as he did. And you are meant to be confused in TLOU2. Life is confusing.

    I don’t think that The Last of Us Part II is meant to teach any great lessons. It’s just stories about the way humanity is, tales about what we are when we pursue vengeance sub happiness.

    And we watch the full story’s journey, learning about blurred lines of good and evil, learning to sympathize and possible to feel a little queasy with that sympathy, maybe we should just realize that people aren’t “good” or “evil.” They’re just people.

    If you decided before you pick up the game that you hate the characters, grow up.

    The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
