    I understand some of the hate this game is getting because it’s a very polarizing story. However, for me, it tested my capacity for understanding and empathy in ways that no other medium can. It sucks that not only is this the unpopular opinion, but people get chastised for their opinion of a video game. If you played the game and hated it, that’s fine. Personally though, I loved it.

    Good graphics, amazing characters, interesting music. There's a few things (like trying to play the guitar) that didn't necessarily help with the immersive experience, but the story was so amazing! I loved every minute of it.

    Sin duda alguna el mejor juego de la generación de ps4 por supuesto las joyas que tiene esta consola como uncharted entre otras pero puedo asegurarte que las críticas negativas no te van a arruinar la experiencia saca tus conclusiones

    Primero me gustaria decir que the last of us 1 es mi favorito y the last of us part II lo estuve esperando un largo tiempo. Cuando llego el juego a mi casa lo jugue al tiro sin perder el tiempo, Como en 5 dias me lo pase... y puedo decir que es un buen juego. Mientras me lo iba pasando podia ver cuanto hate se estaba creando con este juego... ya que con la muerte de joel es algo muy impactante triste.... pero creo que es lo que lo hace unico, se que es muy dificl pero te hace reflexionar mucho y vivir una experiencia muy grande (si este univeso significa algo para ti como jugador). No te voy a mentir a mi en muchas partes del juego perdi la ganas de jugar pero al final creo que entendí porque... obvio te va a generar un desagrado jugar con abby , solo el simple motivo de que haya matado a joel es algo que te puede parecer imperdonable... pero en este juego no se trata de que quien estuvo bien o que estaba mal... lo que te trata de explicar es que en este mundo nadie es el bueno... por mucho que quieras pensar de que abby es la antagonista de la historia la realidad es que no lo es. He visto muchos comentarios de que el juego es malo porque trata de meterte la homosexualidad y creo que no tiene nada que ver... incluso es un pesamiento demasiado pobre y sin argumentos... cual es tu problema con eso .. te molesta?... porque si te molesta que "un" juego tenga otra orientacion sexual.. el problema eres tu. le pongo un 8 ya que no llega al 10 como tlou1 pero creo que un 8 es ideal para este juego... repito es mi opinion del juego, como fan que a jugado la primera parte y su dlc.    … Expand

    I'm really glad of the risks taking with TLOU2's story. Thank you naughty dog for enhancing TLOU1's gameplay and giving us a bold story for the 2 that really has its meanings and its emotions. It is really the essence of TLOU to get you by the guts like it did on this game. Shame on you if you stop playing after Joel's death. If you did, then you were never ready for The Last of Us 2, but only wanted to see your favorite character again.    … Expand

    The Last Of Us: Part II is depressing, dark but yet beautifully crafted at the same time. Sure, the plot has it's downsides but it doesn't stop it from being engaging and also unique in its own way of teaching the player its main message. Do yourself justice and at least give it chance, rather than bashing it from the spoilers    THE LAST OF US: PART II ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
    First Playthrough: 27hr

    The Last Of Us: Part II is depressing, dark but yet beautifully crafted at the same time. Sure, the plot has it's downsides but it doesn't stop it from being engaging and also unique in its own way of teaching the player its main message. Do yourself justice and at least give it chance, rather than bashing it from the spoilers that were leaked; you might be surprised.

    PROS:
    - Gameplay (It's improved in every way from its original predecessor and is incredibly addicting)
    - Exploration
    - Graphics and Overall Presentation
    - Sound Design and Musical Score
    - Acting
    - Impressive AI
    - World-Building and World Design
    - Story Arch and the ideal of "Revenge" in a film motive
    - It's Brutality and not being shameful to show the cruelty of the world
    - Main Characters (I feel like the leads are incredibly strong and are flawed; which makes them compelling)
    - Ending that, in my opinion, finishes this tale off perfectly and starts Ellies' true journey.
    - Settings (So much customizability and an option for people who are handicapped to play normally)
    - Platinum Trophy Difficulty (I'm a completionist and this game is quite easy to do so, unlike the first)

    CONS:
    - Pacing (I feel the momentum stops at full speed halfway in the game when the "twist" comes into play)
    - Too Long (Game should have had it's massive final climax three chapters BEFORE hand. This game really needed another script revision to trim the fat)
    - Structure (While I understand the idea of why the story is structured this way, it still doesn't work and can feel really off-putting and lazy)
    - Main Characters (Majority it's not a huge issue but there are some SERIOUS conflictions with character motivations that the game doesn't like dig through or explain)
    - Supporting Characters (While acted well, they seemed either flat or non-existent)
    - Tedious Level Design (While amazing to look at, some chapters can really drag and take triple the amount of time that it should have been)
    - Changing Weapons (This is minor but I felt that "Holding the Square Button" wasn't that responsive and I would instead randomly swing my melee weapon when trying to be stealthy)

    In the end, The Last of Us: Part II is not for everyone but for me, it was an emotional time. Although it has it's shortcomings and is defiantly not perfect, it's far from being a total mess and to me, shows that Naughty Dog is one of those companies that will take risks; even though it may divide its fanbase.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. An amazing meditation on life and loss and the things we do to protect our values and the people we care for. Also an awesome gameplay experience full of unique moments and some intensely beautiful craftsmanship.
    A fantastic game about the cycles of violence and how we attempt to free ourselves from resent and hate. Deeply emotional, tough to play in moments.

    Something to note is the unique way the game makes you question who exactly you want to be rooting for, between Abby, Ellie, or even Joel. Indeed, in my experience, I questioned how much of his actions were truly justifiable in the first game, how it affected the characters in this game, and if by the end of it if I truly had much empathy left for him.
    Even Abby, whom commits that shocking scene early on in the game, turned out to be a like-able, enjoyable character full of complex emotions and intriguing motivations.
    I have to say that I eventually came to despise Ellie just a little bit, which was no small feat on the developer's side.
    This is a game that is occasionally hard to swallow because of the situations it puts you in, wherein you feel positively unwilling to continue on with your acts, which is partially why I suspect so many people have negative feelings towards it. I say that if a game could actively make me root for someone I thought I wanted to kill off early on, it has truly achieved something special.
    There is this idea that a piece of media has to be comfortable to be a masterpiece, but I think this game has absolutely shattered that concept, becoming a true example of video game art.

    It's a game I don't think I could come back to for maybe a year or more, because it feels so finished and heavy, but I do suspect that I'll be eating my words in a week or two.    … Expand

    For me is a great idea to make you play as the "villain" and i know how mutch the community loved Joel as character, but if you pay attention to the construction of the plot you will understand why the game got this resolution.
    In conclusion you can have your opinion about the story but you really can't say this is a bad written plot with bad written characters    … Expand

    “Una gran continuación para uno de los mejores juegos de la historia”. La historia que nos cuenta es perfecta, atrevida y muy cruda. Los personajes están muy bien escritos, que hasta llegas a empatizar con ellos, incluso si algunos son del bando contrario. Las gráficas de este juego son tan buenas que disfrutas cada escena y lo bien que se ven, tanto las expresiones faciales que ponen los“Una gran continuación para uno de los mejores juegos de la historia”. The story was alright I'd give the game overall a 9/10 but I gave it a 10 to deviate from all the loser bashing the game that have never even played the first or just jumping on the bandwagon of hating it. I waited 7 years for this game, played it the day it came out... and the part 2 was NOT as good as the PART 1, I never believed it'd top the first one. THE FIRST GAME WAS TOO GOOD. THE ONLY THING THEY CAN TOP IS THE GAMEPLAY NOT THE STORY. You guys are just a bunch of morons. It makes me think how many Xbox fanboys just jumped on this game and rated it a 0. What a joke of a gaming community. They live in a post apocalyptic world, you expect everyone to just survive???? Even if Ellie also died in the end I would have accepted it rather than hating it. Even tho I was truly disappointed with Ellie's decision by not killing Abby, I think this game is a masterpiece and I noticed all the improvement by the very first scene of the game, the incredible human expressions, the animations, especially the one where you can pick up a rope, the gun upgrades animation, and a lot more, the animals, the combat, oh the combat, the enemies so realistic human esssence it's incredible, It even makes you feel bad by killing them, how the dog cries when you kill its owner, just everything in this game it's exactly what I've been waiting for 7 years. I love The Last Of Us, It's my favourite videogame and I've played the first game in every difficulty mode, and I waited with extra hype all of this years for this game, I had extra high expectations, I can say I love this game and it's worth every single year of wait and every single dollar I paid for it.     Amazing experience! The gameplay is on a new level, they kept the good old form and added some new mechanics. The animations are mindblowing, facial expressions never was more realistic than now. And the story... oh my god, this is the first game that made me cry. Absolutely the best game I've ever played. Thank you Naughty Dog!

    Really enjoyed it, wish it didn't get as much hate as it's getting. Some parts annoyed me or bored me but pushing past that I really loved it.

    Incredible game with unparalleled gameplay, and an incredibly moving story and characters. Everything I was hoping for and so much more. The Collector's Edition came in impressive packaging, and the Ellie statue was as detailed and beautiful as it was heavy. I didn't expect that kind of quality for the price.

I would give this game an 8 only because there are a few things that could have made the game better. Number 1, a better way for Joel's death. Joel starts to get up yanks the golf club out of Abby's hands hits her in the legs, she falls and Joel gets shot in the face (it probably never would have happened but it would have been a better way for Joel to go out. Number 2, why was Abby's character development really bad, it made sense why she killed Joel as he killed her father but the could have made so much more out of that instead of including all her friends. If they just focused on the relationship between Abby and her dad (like Joel & Ellie) instead of all the different characters and their feelings it would have been a lot better. Otherwise, I believed the game was really well made and it was fun to go through. I would 100% recommend the game.… Expand

The new characters are so boring and poorly written, I couldn't care less about them. That part is bad. But the whole concept of vengeance, story structure and even ending is good to me. I think NaughtyIt's not a sequel that everyone wanted. That part is clear as day. Some of the content I love so much, and some parts I just hate a lot. Story-wise, each game does a great job at drawing out different emotions, from fear, anger, hatred, disgust, and love. The first game will forever be the best game I have ever played, however, part II is a close second. It’s obvious that this game is divisive, for obvious reasons, however, this doesn’t make me hate the decisions made by developers and directors. It shows that every horrible action you do will catch up to you at some point, like it does for Joel. Getting Abby’s backstory put her actions in place. She was angry, sad, and wanted revenge for Joel killing her dad, who was wanting to do the right thing. Although his murder was brutal, it was necessary. I love Joel, even if he didn’t make the right choices, he showed remorse that if he had the chance to do it all over again, he would. He saved Ellie selfishly and killed very important people in the firefly community, which I disagreed with but I love Joel and if I was in his position I would probably do the same. As well as Abby. If my dad was killed for trying to save the world, I would seek revenge. This game left me confused, but after further reflection, I came to peace with it, just like the first game. If you are looking to play the game, keep an open mind and know that the developers didn’t create this story with the intent of pissing you off. Everything happens for a reason. Happy gaming.… Expand

The base combat system is very similar to the first game, but it gets broken up through various takedowns and quick time event-style fights. In terms of story, Naughty Dog took many risks with this game. I feel that the story is gripping, and it elevates the medium while other games tend to focus on more cookie cutter style narratives. Every story decision in this game is explained...eventually. The game relies heavily on its nonlinear narritive. For example, the game uses many flashbacks and repeated timelines with different characters to tell its story. It works very well in most parts of the game, but it grows tiresome as the game moves along. Also, some segments of the game involved too much looting and shooting. I would find myself getting bored during some of the overlong segements where I was tasked to traverse the city, especially when there was no companion along for the journey. All of that being said, it is a wonderful video game. It packs as much, if not more, of an emotional punch compared to the first game. The mood and tone are much darker in this sequel, and moments of levity are sparse. This is a project that I feel should be experienced by all gamers. It is boldly written and visually stunning. The game's developers don't provide fan service or give the audience what they expect. The constant subversion is part of what makes this game a must-play.… Expand

    Das einzige Manko ist das das Storyende Sehr offen gestaltet wurde und viele Fragen offen lässt. Aber ich vermute das diese Lücken mit einem kleinen dlc abgerundet wird. Die düstere Stimmung am Ende paßt zu the Last of us da die Story düster anfängt schon im ersten Teil und auch im zweiten Teil sich weiter durchzieht.    … Expand

I really feel like after you get over Joel’s death, and let go of it all, you can really start to have some more fun. I’m not completely done with the game, but I have played a major chunk of it. I liked Abby as she was built on as a character, and no, she isn’t some special representation character, she’s just some girl named Abby. At a point in the game, I really just started to feel bad about everything I had done as Ellie, and it really takes you for a bit of a guilt trip. Overall, I do recommend this game to anybody looking for an interesting story, change of characters, and just wanting to have some fun.… Expand

Everyone who rated the game low just because Joel died doesn’t understand the reasoning behind it and lets their emotions take over and causes them to ignore the fact that the writing is wonderful, the game is beautiful, and the gameplay is much more advanced compared to the First title. The new enemies are a great addition. The way they communicate creates a more suspenseful element for sure. The A.I. can be a bit clunky at times, but that could be due to the medium difficulty I chose. As for the storyline.....I think Abby is a great character, there I said it. However, the reason I don't give this a perfect score is because we're introduced to a new character only to watch and learn that her entire life is filled with defeat and sorrow up until the end. The game has you hate her and then begin to feel bad for her, making you lose the affection you built in the previous game for Joel and Ellie. The last flashback is almost an insult. You're thankful that their last interaction was positive before he met his end, but you'll always wish to have seen how they would've rebuilt their relationship. That's my bias of the game. But damnit if I don't admit how amazing and captivating the game is.… Expand

I love TLOU1 so much, and like all of you, i also expected the same quality After finished part 2, i have to admit that it's not as good as part 1, but it's still a good game. I know most of the people get angry (me either) to watch Joel dies painfully, disrespectfully. But if you stop for a moment and think: IF JOEL DID SOMETHING LIKE THAT TO YOU, WOULD YOU FORGIVE HIM? Abby does what she does to revenge. I love Joel so much, but there's a consequence for his action. And about the ending, i think Ellie did the right thing: FORGIVENESS. I really love that flashback, she forgave Joel. Now she forgive Abby, even what Abby did is unforgivable. If she kill Abby, Lev will come after Ellie, I know he will do it. The cycle of killing must be stopped. And if you notice, Abby and Lev are having the relationship like Joel and Ellie. This game deserve more, please play it till the end.… Expand

What is happening now in assessing this horror, stupid people came running and set 0 for killing Joel for the development of the plot. One and those comments, although in most of these people did not play further or did not play further than Joel’s murder. It must be a decisive decision at the end, at the moment a strong moment, this is the murder of Joel and the subsequent actions of Ellie. All that you have is clearly shown that this is nonsense.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I'm not gonna focus on other reviews and i'm just gonna go straight forward and say what i think about the game.
    First of all i want to say that this game is really down to earth in the sense that "there's no heroes", Naughty Dog shows us this early in the game with the death of Joel, giving a sense to the whole game that comes ahead. Sure people have attached to him and his relationship with Ellie on the first one but if you come open minded to this one you will be blown away.
    Then again, the characters that kill him (Abby and her crew) have their side of the story too, which is told marvellously. It kinda makes you with mix feelings about if you want revenge or not, and naughty dog made this very cleverly by making you play as Abby and get a really big connection to her character and the role she plays. Basically what we see here is "there's 2 sides to 1 story" and "there's no heroes", everyone can die at any moment.
    The game is raw, violent and meaningful at the same time for the sake of Ellies revenge.
    In my opinion this game surpasses The Last of Us 1 and it's a masterpiece in a world that you want to live in and explore.
    My complains about it in terms of dialogue is the following: Im ok with lgbt and the gay community, i mean each person is its own person and i think it fits Ellies character to be gay. Although you don't get my 10 because of this simple detail. Not everything is about LGBT. "Ellie plays guitar after Joel dies."
    Dina response: "You should've kissed me back there".
    Ellie enters a store and Dina sees a book about 2 girls being in love "Hey Ellie this could be us".
    Hello? Gay couples should be normal, just like hetero couples, you don't need to throw the LGBT stuff and then make a tragic death about it...
    My point is.... we were on a mourning period and you throw us LGBT dialogues which in my opinion didn't fit the mood in that precise moment.
    I gotta give it a 9 and wish i could give it a 10 but this point really bugged me cuz i wanted to feel the pain of losing Joel, and instead got that annoying character always trying to bang me.
    Other than that and comparing to other games i would say this game is a combination of: Life is Strange, Tomb Raider, Metal Gear Solid and it has of course lots of elements from Uncharted.
    I guess you could not use always the same assets, like chairs and beds and stuff, but with a game that long i guess it couldn't be better. Im waiting for TLOU3 on the PS5 for sure cuz that ending made me want more.
    Good job Naughty Dog.

Despite your feelings on many points in the story (which in my opinion mostly work) the games other aspects do not deserve to be ignored. For example the gameplay which in my opinion includes some of the best stealth in a game since mgs:3 but not just the stealth is great the grittyness of the melee combat feels so satisfying and painful in equal measures and add a dodge button into the mix and it becomes stylish too. The overall look and graphics of the game are the best I have ever seen and really push the PS4 to the limit especially with some of the larger landscapes you explore such as the snowy mountains surrounding Jackson or the collapsed business district of Seattle. As always with The Last of Us the voice acting and Mo-Cap of all the characters is incredible and helps to convey perfectly every emotional beat of the story. I think the whole idea of the story of playing as ellie and murdering all these people who killed Joel mindlessly and then comes back to bite you when you then get to play as Abby and meet all those people who are now supposed to be your friends. I will admit I wasn't the biggest fan of playing as Abby mainly as I was constantly wanting to get to play as Ellie again. However probably some of the best encounters of the game along with a super cool boss fight swayed me too her side. So overall everything about the fame is a masterpiece apart from some of the story points but in my opinion that is a personal opinion.… Expand

    I almost didn't play the game because of all the drama, but I'm glad I did... Because it is definitely the best game I played so far. And in my opinion, even better than the first one.
    Don't get me wrong : it's not perfect, nothing is. But what I "experienced" shook me well a lot of times.

    I really don't get why people dislike it...

The good: ..."wow". Those 3 letters sum it up. Wow at the cinematic direction and narrative. Wow at the graphical and acting execution. Wow at all the technical aspects and game design. Wow at how the game explores subjects (violence, loss, guilt) to the lengths that I don't think were ever explored in video games. Wow how emotionally investing and engaging the story is. Finished the game in a dark room with credits rolling out and an amazing version of Wayfaring Stranger playing in the background, it makes you just sit in that darkness to let it sink in, reflect, try to cool down after a heart gripping ending. Not many games can do this and despite a couple of obvious flaws, this game is a masterpiece in it's own right.

    I was closely following on the hateful critique this game is getting and it is quite shocking what turn it took. Must have started with misunderstood leaks and then escalated like an avalanche with people just copying opinions of others without having their own. It is true the characters went in another direction that most people would like but this is not an RPG. This is a novel. I would rather focus on how the story was told, than whether I agree with the choices. It is true the game is difficult to bear in a sense that it throws endless violence at you, if this is a problem then you probably shouldn't play. Critique about the characters not being themselves seems quite ridiculous... Both Ellie's and Joel's transformations make perfect sense... Ellie because of her age and what she found out after going through so many traumatic events. Joel because how Ellie softened him up and made him trust humanity again. I also just read Polygon's "review" which is often referenced as truthful opposition to the "paid reviewers"" (???). I will just say that the review"" is about 80% personal rant about the message of the game and how the author felt it. One, on many occasions it completely misses the point or is even just plain wrong (part about the characters not developing emotionally). Two, it doesn't focus on other (brilliant) aspects of the game, and there are plenty.

    Rating this game anything below 6-7 is just being dishonest, this is a must play for fans of the first installment or people who love post apo, grim atmosphere & narrative games    … Expand

At times I missed playing as Ellie, but I liked playing as Abby. Started to see her side,but sorry been with my OG girl for 7 years. Immersive game, I can't accept what my fellow gamers are giving it after they say they beat it in a day. It was 20hrs for me and some areas I rushed cuz was too dark haha. Part 2 not only tries to force the player into different perspectives but forces them into them and the end result while not perfect is still effective in its own right. By the end of the game you realize you didn’t have fun, you had an experience similar to that of real life, things don’t go the way you always want and life isn’t always perfect, it’s brutal and takes its toll. I give the last of us part 2 a 9/10 because while it’s not the first game most loved and saw as a masterpiece back in 2013, it is still an important step in story telling to tell a story people may be too resentful to hear and I believe they did it as best as they could.… Expand

    An astonishing achievement. The best kind of a sequel, where the story in the original game has now been enhanced and expanded upon in surprising ways. Shocking, wonderful and often startlingly brutal. PS4 has its greatest title.

    There is no other game like this at the moment. All the reviews that were based on a couple of leaks have no real weight in the context of rating this game's incredible technical achievements. Game design, level design, graphics, storytelling, characters and gameplay are unique and beautifully done.

Ellie killed everyone, why should she spare abby? But once you play you feel Abby, you get to know her, you unterstand her, you like her. It‘s a symbol: In the final fight you dont want to hit her, you dont want to kill her. And you did not! Abby lost everything and everyone, Ellie too. You realize that revenge is not the right path. The biggest fear Ellie had was to be alone. And she is.. she lost everything..but the cycle of pain, murder and violence is broken. The little girl Joel found is not the new Ellie. But the distance, the pain Ellie felt with the vaccine revealing is overcome. She loves Joel, and she always did, but now she loves him more than ever. Your dead was not for nothing. You teached your little girl. Thanks Joel!… Expand

There are Also many adaptations to the difficulty of the game and its not only about moderate or hard so its really nice because that way you are never bored there is always a challange.
    Story-want to givee 8 but and I am not sure yet. The game made me really connect to the characters. I love and I hate, I want revenge and I feel some times msrcy. And all the time is feel amusement by my actions. Without any spoilers I once rage quit the game because of a character I really hate. And its not about to say the story is bad and I dont want to play.,its about saying I really connected. The story is made up real good. It starts slow and it is not flashy and the and maybe if you will told the spoilers you will say its lame, but it is well written and slowly but steady makes you connected to it, it fun to playtrough it and discover more. to be honest I dont remember anybody said on god of war that its a lame story altough the main objective is to put the ashes of kratos wife in in the mountain.,because it was fun, it was exciting and yet suprising. The last of us is the same and I think that even better. Just come open minded about this game, dont give a **** about others opinion.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I think people are way way too hard on this game. From what I’ve seen of the reviews, a lot of the issue people have is with the writing. They say that Joel should have been avenged, or not killed at all. They say Abby was not sympathetic enough for them to care about the ending, but going through this game, I’ve had such a hard time seeing what you’re saying. I was upset when Joel died. Distraught beyond belief. Even had to stop playing for a bit. But the story that came out of it was well-done. Whether you admit it to yourself or not. Abby’s story was compelling. It made me care for the characters that Ellie had taken out. I was mad when I began to play as her again, then I slowly became mad at myself for defending her, then I was mad at Ellie. I didn’t know how to feel for a while. This game is an emotional rollercoaster to be sure. Anyway I have more concerns to address. I’ve heard the complaint that Joel and Tommy acted out-of-character in order for Joel to die. Which I can see at first glance, but these games are not “first-glance” games. In the first game, there is not a single point where Joel would have stopped to help a stranger. But now he lives in a community that thrives on helping people. It thrives on giving people chances and helping them live. After living in a community like that for 4 years, or more in Tommy’s case, of course he would do that. It makes sense. Our penultimate complaint I’ve heard is that Ellie is an unlikable character in this game. She’s a jerk. She’s nothing like the Ellie we knew. Well, of course she isn’t. Of course she’s a jerk. The man she saw as her father figure, lied to her about the most important moment of her life. They didn’t truly talk for 2 years or so, and just as she’s ready to start forgiving him, he’s stripped away from her. Right in front of her face. She’s not the same fun-loving, wonder-filled 14 year old we knew. Things change. And after what happened, that’s a perfectly logical destination to end at. Heartbreaking, but it makes sense, and it’s good well-written story. Last but certainly not least, the ending. The ending is rough. I will give you that one. It is very rough, but it is not bad. The first game ended very bittersweetly. This game was just very very bitter. Which I expected nothing less from this dark of a story. Ellie, as hard as it is to admit, she made the right call in the end. I was breaking down when she was threatening Lev. I did not want to fight Abby. The game did it’s job for me. You cannot complain that Ellie is a jerk and that she’s nothing like she was, but then also complain that she doesn’t murder Abby. Those complaints are so contradictory it hurts. Ellie didn’t take the high road. She took the bear minimum of a medium road that it took to not lose herself completely. If she had just stayed behind, or just left without fighting Abby, maybe she would have deserved a better ending. But everyone in this story was consumed by vengeance and hatred in the end. Ironically everyone other than Abby. Look, I understand many of the complaints given, and why they were given. There is voice to those concerns. But this game, is not a bad game at all. In fact, I’d go as far as to say it’s a good game. But once Joel was killed, so many people just clicked off their ability to care. We knew from the start this was not Joel’s game. In fact, many people speculated that he would be dead, but now that it happened, the game is “terrible” and “a slap in the face to fans of TLOU”. It’s not. If you can just allow yourself to care, it is a good well-done, well-acted story. And it has wonderfully tense gameplay on top of it all. Hell, The Rat-king battle as Abby might be one of my favorite terrifying moments from gaming period. That’s all I’ll say on the matter. Whatever your views are on the game are, all I ask is that you be civil. Respect other’s opinions, listen to one another, and don’t become calloused towards Naughty Dog and all the wonderful people who worked on this game. Have a good day.… Expand

Someone could really take the story and make a movie, and it would be a great movie, I cant imagine why people are mad with the game, probably because of joel's death, 10 hours gameplay of abby, or the ending... but thats just stupid, joels death is the key to the journey, 10 hours of gameplay is to know the other perspective, the abby's perspective,if people dont want to know the reason of abby, they dont want to enjoy the game, the game is made to be dark, and give you the feelings of the characters,and they did it so well!!! and the ending is so damn complex that people who dont understand are still mad...     Outstanding game, definitely one of the best games of this generation. Devs made a huge work. The game looks, plays and feels like a top class product. To be honest I was sceptical about the game before I played it. But after I started playing it I just couldn’t stop. Definitely a must play for all PS4 owners.

    Man, this is a damn good game. The story is very well written, the characters are amazing, grapics are amazing, gameplay is rough and gritty. This is essentially a game about violence, and what violence brings forth. It is super uncomfortable, we finally have a mainstream game that really takes a closer look at violence, and the gritty and dark essence of it. And dont trust the leaks...

    A stunning game with many twists and turns. The attention to detail is simply next level, the story is wonderful and emotionally challenging and the gameplay has been stepped up a great deal since the first one.
    The emotional connection you feel for characters that you've only known for 1 game is amazing and the connection you get with some new characters is surprising.

    I enjoyed this game a lot. Not as good as the first, but still a great story that delves deeper into the characters of Joel and Ellie. I think some things could have been handled better, but I don’t understand the hate. Btw I’m not a ‘fanboy’.

    Play this game, and judge it for yourself. No amount of words can explain how well told and we'll executed this rollercoaster ride is - no matter how controversial. You're meant to feel the way you feel, and the fact that you feel anything at all, including but not limited to anger, is the perfect example that they've succeeded in making you care. This isn't your conventional sequel.

    Las mecanicas son realmente buenas, me gusta recordar los enojos que me causaban los enemigos con las nuevas mecanicas que los hacian odiables cuando trazaban distintas tacticas para matarte mas rapido, pueden ser muy impredecibles en varias ocasiones hasta ser un dolor de cabeza, la dificultad esta buena pero los enemigos son bastante faciles de matar, los chasqueadores se volvieron mas molestos que nunca, el sistema de mejora de habilidades me gusto aunque me costo acostumbrarme, a nivel de estabilidad el juego esta muy programado ya que he notado una fluides muy buena y estable, con bajones muy pocos por lo general en pequeños puntos debido a explosiones por lo general, la forma en la cual el juego de te da la libertad de explorar el juego a tu manera desde hacerlo por el camino rapido o ir lento y explorando cada rincon con sus recompensas, los escenarios me gustaron, se le dio mucho uso a Seatle a diferencia del primero, la reutilizacion de ciertos escenarios son obvios debido a la historia, me gustan mucho los pequeños detalles que pueden obsevar, es divertido romper lo vidrios, es interesante la libertad que se tomaron respecto a la duracion del juego.

    All the supposed “plot holes” people are pointing out make me question if they even played the game, but it hardly matters because whenever someone logically tries to explain to them why something isn’t a plot hole you get shouted down by a bunch of people who are too caught up in their emotions to think rationally.

    Ironically, these same group of people would probably follow Ellie’s path of revenge in real life, too blinded by emotion to see what’s going on in front of them. 10/10 GOTY    … Expand

    The last of us part 2 is bigger than the first one in every single way. The story gets to take a wider scope on this distopian future and gets to explore more creative themes. Part 2 overall is a rollercoaster of emotions. I find myself thinking about the game days after finishing it. This game is a must play if you've played the first one

    Favourite gameplay moments

    These all came from Abby's half: Skybridge, Rat King in the hospital, fighting Ellie at the theatre. They took a lot of inspiration from Uncharted 4 and I love the new car chase and chaotic horse riding sequences.

    Story

    I understand how some would resent it when they were forced to play as Abby, someone who you're meant to hate as Ellie. But as I played through Abby's Day 1 (damn that was a long day), I started to develop empathy towards her and the people around her. I understood her actions and why she did what she did. It was no different to Ellie's revenge mission when she literally killed everyone in her path to get to Abby. It's a game about hate and the cycle of hate seems never ending. It's ironic that if Ellie chose to stay at the Farm after Tommy left, both Ellie and Tommy would've got what they wanted - Abby dead in Santa Barbara. The final fight with Abby on the beach was emotionally very raw and real. It was amazing and yet draining and painful to watch. But if Ellie killed Abby then it would defeat the purpose of what the game was trying to tell us. You need to break the cycle of hate. When Ellie remembered the night when she chose to start forgiving Joel, she also chose to let Abby go, therefore breaking that cycle.

    This game is a piece of art. Art that makes you feel all sorts of emotions, and think about it over and over afterwards probably means it’s a very good piece of art.

    I love this game and it will stay with me for a long time, just like Part 1 did.    … Expand

    I don’t understand the hate this game is getting. I finished it yesterday and I loved it. Maybe many gamers are just not mature enough to understand the narrative of this game.     Managed to avoid spoilers. Been waiting for this game for a long time, and it did not disappoint. Major improvements in combat, and the story was very engaging. I was shocked how much effort was put into these intersecting tales.

    If I have one criticism, I actually enjoyed the soundtrack more in the first game

The only gripe I have with the game is the pacing in the second half but the ending made up for it. As with so many other excellent pieces of media, you do not always get what you want and have to go on your own journey to deal with it.

    On a side note, my PS4 Pro got very loud when HDR was enabled. Apart from that I only encountered two minor bugs throughout my 36 hours of playtime.    … Expand

    Let me say I am so disappointed with the negative reviews .. I believe this game is a masterpiece.
    The lighting is the best I've seen on a console game. physics is brilliant. The gameplay is the best I've played in this genre. The story is different but good. you haven't gotten this game, get it NOW you are missing out. the only reason I give it a 9/10 is because there's no multiplayer for now.
