    Only redeeming quality of this game was that the gameplay stayed the same as the first game, which should have been improved on considering the 7 year development gap. It's obvious that the studio left as it reflects in the writing and character development. Good job in destroying a world gamers loved, I'll be doing my best to pretend this game never came out.

    While the graphics and attention to detail are incredible, the gameplay feels outdated as the improvements and innovations are minimal and the whole experience becomes tedious, especially in the final hours. Characters make extremely dumb decisions just to further the desired narrative and this completely takes you out of the experience. The shoehorned political narratives also do not help the game's likability in the slightest. It is also worth mentioning that some scenes in the trailers are very misleading which can only be seen as taking advantage of people's faith in ND. What was marketed to people and the final product are extremely different. An incredibly nonsensical and dissatisfying ending really is the cherry on top and as such the game leaves a very bad taste in your mouth. Truly expected more from the creators of the masterpiece that is The Last of Us Part 1.… Expand

The story is a huge disappointment in every way, they destroyed the character Joel. They deconstructed everything that pleased the first game, and that made him famous and loved all over the world. The graphics and game-play are very good, as well as the soundtrack, but that's about it. I have no motivation to continue playing. I don't even want a sequel to that, they dismissed Joel very early, he still had a lot to offer in the plot. How did Sony allow you to do this with your most beloved IP? All trailers and gameplay released gave everyone the impression this was gonna be an Ellie focused game, with Joel at her side. Instead we got a basic revenge story. Worst of all is that pretty much half of the game isn't even focused on Ellie, but Abby??? She introduces herself like we should all immediately be able to tell who she is Such a shame, visually it looks gorgeous and it probably would have been a decent standalone game. Joel dies with the least amount of build up or even respect - literally spitting on him, was that really necessary Neil? - and the way the story keeps reminding us of the consequences of killing and revenge and then ending the game with Ellie losing everything but somehow Abby gets to walk away??? It seems that Neil and his team have read a dictionary that swapped the words deep with misery. Ellie literally loses all things precious to her which is supposed to be this deep message of revenge and brutally killing leads to nothing but more of the same but fails to deliver since Abby somehow seems to deserve a break. DISAPPOINTMENT… Expand

    Neil Druckmann is a **** Who tf wants to play a game with the worst storyline ever... I was literally a fan of naughty dog since 2017... Played all of the uncharted games, The last of us 4-5 times loved all of em but this game is trash af don't waste your money guys! A Big FU to all the story writers...

    Трудно передать словами какое это разочарование. Грубо говоря в этой игре замечательно все, кроме слитого в ноль сюжета и что мне особенно было не приятно так это играть за эбби, какого черта меня заставили играть за это?. Первую часть проходил 3 раза останавливаясь на всех катсценах и скрытых диалогах Элли и Джоэла это было незабываемо и тут выходит вторая часть и вот бы оно долгожданное продолжение, но фанатам просто плюнули в лицо. Судя по оценкам ни один я такого мнения. Не понятно на что надеялись сценаристы заставляя нас играть за эбби (у меня это вызывало отвращение) пытаясь показать что она как-бы не плохой человек, но какого черта? Зачем этот левый персонаж? люди ждали эту игру что-бы поиграть за знакомых им героев которые нам полюбились, понаблюдать за их перепалками и развитием их отношений как отца и дочери так сказать=) Единственные не многие моменты в игре когда я залипал так это флэшбэки с Джоэлем. А про слитую концовку игры так тут вообще трудно что либо говорить, Элли всю игру пыталась отомстить, бросила всех и в финале просто слилась "вот это поворот" ИМХО нету в этом ни какой морали это просто слив! Как я улыбнулся когда в конце показали эбби, вот что значит когда перестаешь курсить, ну вы поняли о чем я=) Почему нельзя было сделать право выбора убивать эбби или нет? это хоть как-то бы сгладило впечатления от игры. А если бы еще можно было выбирать не играть за эбби то я бы простил многие косяки.
    Увы мы имеем то что имеем, нынешняя тенденция с толерантностью и трендами погубила сценаристов, это дошло до кино и вот теперь и до игр, всю игру прослеживался след новомодных веяний, типа бодипозитива и.т.д. поубивали большую часть мужских персонажей, я не простив ГГ девушки просто тут на столько все вычурно что аж подташнивает. Я тут многое не стал описывать а то не дай бог забанят, тут уже терли комментарии под этой игрой. В общем политиканству быть в играх.
    Графина на уровне, геймплэй нормально, нечего нового но эта игра не про это.
    Лучше бы вторая часть и вовсе не выходила это было невыносимо мерзко. Первая часть Last Of Us на всегда останется в моей библиотеке игр! А это постараюсь забыть как страшный сон. Все выше сказанное это мое субьективное мнение.    … Expand

    To enjoy the game you have to get ready to go through the awful amount of cringe and logically faulty story.

    The main problem of the whole story is that it shifts from zombie apocalypses to soap opera with zombie apocalypses in background.
    Dialogues and character interactions are cringe and stupid.
    For the most part it feels like low quality fanfiction.
    Putting aside progressive talking points being brought each time, character interactions often feel forced.

    Another problem is introduction of secondary hero, who is actually just psychopathic murderer.
    The problem with that is that we're forced to be empathetic to it, despite knowing little to nothing about it.
    Background is expanded later on with flashbacks, but it is already too late as you hate such awful character for a long time as you hunt it down while playing as Ellie.

    Despite Ellie being more cringe due to bad writing, it is at least somewhat enjoyable to watch her going on rampage.

    Summary: play this game on youtube, or buy with discount later on. It doesn't deserve full price    … Expand

    La historia es un escupitajo en la cara, esperamos 7 años por nada, el juego es hermoso sí hablamos de la calidad visual, mas no de historia. El primer juego se caracterizó por su historia, y esta segunda entrega nos entregó una historia muy inclusiva con huecos argumentales en la trama :(

    I bought my sister a copy for her birthday and one for myself, after playing through it with her I've decided to return my copy. I am so disappointed that this is what ND decided was a good route to take a beloved story. The graphics are gorgeous, gameplay is so-so (if it ain't broke don't fix it), but the writing is so out of touch with not only its own franchise but its fanbase. ND is a studio that's specialized in stories, so I'm weighing story the heaviest, but the plotlines for TLOU2 feel comparable to S8 of GoT. I was so excited for a badass female lead but was left with dissatisfied and heartbroken that they'd trash their own characters they spent years building up for a new barely fleshed out villain. If you want some basic shooting and crafting this is the game for you, but if you're expecting a well thought out and sincere story then it'd be best to skip this one. The character dialogue while exploring sounds is incredibly bland, hearing Ellie and Dina talk sounds like the sort of basic messages you send on Tinder. Characters are introduced then randomly killed off and never mentioned again, the writers introduce you to this psychopathic villain and then force you to empathize with them afterwards. The cult that's highlighted in the trailers just exists, it's never explored. It pulls the pregnancy card WAY too many times and kills people for shock value, which is a sign the writer really has no idea how to write a compelling plotline without nixing your favorite character. This whole game feels like I read a Tumblr fanfic, fells asleep, and woke up 20 hours later. Companies will keep producing crap so long as we keep paying for it, and they'll keep trying to charge more and more.… Expand

Pero la segunda parte, que se juega la mayoría del tiempo y de jefes con Abby, se siente vacío, por más que lo intenté no pude empatizar con este personaje. No tiene carisma, es seria y forzada. El tráiler nunca da a entender que la vamos a utilizar, eso es un engaño y una mentada de madre yo creo que hasta ilegal hacia el consumidor.     I refunded my copy of the game and I am just posting this review purely out of spite. Watched the end of the game on youtube and it makes me wanna die, "Violence = bad" is what the previous game struggles and artwork culminated into. I wish it was a joke people this is probably the most disappointing gaming experience I ever had.

    I'd rather play fallout 76 again that ever touching this piece of media ever again, what a stain on the legacy of ps4, instead of going out with a bang it will go out with the sound of a wet fart.    … Expand

    I loved the first game to death, played it all the way through 3 times in 2 weeks. But this game is just **** utter trash. I have never been so... let down... The only thing this game has going for it is the graphics. Thanks Neil for killing off one of my favorite franchises.

Why would Naughty Dog think it was a genius idea to play as Abby?! Imagine playing RDR2 as Micah after killing Arthur...HELL NO! You will never see a single penny from me ever again Naughty Dog!     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Truth is, Naughty Dog really couldn’t recapture what made the first game so flawless. They failed. Neil Druckmann cemented that. Bruce Straley really knew how to write and direct a story of emotion and compassion. You understand why Joel does what he does even if it seems morally wrong. You sympathize and understand the decisions he makes. Last of Us Part II completely abandons his character and what made him special in the first game. This title failed to capture who he was and instead leads him to do the opposite of his character, which is a punch in the gut itself. Graphics are stunning and the soundtrack is still superb. Those are the only good things this title has to offer. The mechanics are just fidgety and often annoying at times. Not to mention there’s NO MULTIPLAYER! So you have to rely on a well executed narrative like the previous entry, but instead fails miserably. Neil really should’ve looked at RDR2 and learned how character development works in a story and to respect a character in they’re end. RDR2 is a perfect example of respecting the predecessor while maintaining the original feel. Rockstar was able to overcome the hype and expectations with a graphically beautiful game, an outstanding soundtrack, great character development, and a perfect endgame. Joel deserved better. We as fans deserved better. Even the character development is terrible in this game. A lot of the deaths are mainly for shock value and it’s inconsistent in the story since flashbacks happen after the fact. So you as the player really feel no emotion or empathy towards any of these new characters on either side. Even when It’s love. It’s rushed and moves too fast. So it’s very cringe worthy to say the least. I can honestly say the best part about this game was the flashbacks with Ellie and Joel. Other than that, the story is hot trash. This franchise would’ve been better off ending with the first game. Better yet, just seeing Joel and Ellie grow in Jackson and watching life change would’ve been great in my opinion. Instead this game feels like a terrible written fan fiction that doesn’t respect anything from the first game. Not even the ending is satisfying. Revenge is bad. That’s the moral of the story. Which still contradicts itself because Abby gets revenge while Ellie doesn’t. Arthur Morgan said it best “Revenge Is A Fools Game”… Expand

    Геймплей - из возможных 3х балов получаем один ( болы глупые, слепые и не человечные ( если увидят, то сразу стреляют, но в реальности даже на военных базах сразу предупреждают, когда фонарь светит на бота он этого не видет а собаки за барной стойкой уже не могут унюхать человека)
    Графика - тут 2 из 2 - разработчики выжали максимум из пс4/пс4про
    Сюжет - 0 из 5- если в первой части игры сюжета была практически идеальная и ты так сближался, с персонажами, что сопереживаешь за него и искренне поддерживаешь каждую секунду, но когда я начал вторую половину ТЛОУ2, то у меня она вызывает только отвращение и вопросы на ко орые так и не дали ответы...
    Ну и на конец реакция сони на тех, кто говорит правду - стыдно должно быть, затыкать рот всем, кто не слепой и не глупый! По этому из финальной оценки убираю 2 бала!    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Naughty Dog disrespects their fans in this awful and misleading sequel. The first Last of Us was a masterpiece of a game. From the trailers, Joel was advertised to be in the game with Ellie. In reality, Joel dies within the first two hours of the game. The trailers replaced new characters with Joel. This made fans think they would be able to play as Joel and Ellie again throughout the game. That was a lie. This is classified as false advertisement. On top of this, the game makes the player play as Joel's murderer, Abby. When Joel was murdered, I did not want to play anymore. I started to play the next day in hopes that the story would get better. When the game forced me to play as Abby, I really did not want to play anymore. I eventually pushed through the story. The ending was horrible. For the entire game, Ellie is hunting down Joel's murderers. In the end, Ellie (the player) does not get to defeat Abby. instead, Ellie loses two of her fingers, and then lets Abby go. What a disappointing ending. Maybe this sequel was trying to have the heroes lose? Like in many other great sequels such as "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back?" If so, it did not work. Me and many others have waited since 2013 for a sequel to "The Last of Us." We have waited to play as Joel and Ellie together again. Joel dying during the beginning of the game ruined the story. It disappointed many fans. With that said, I thought the story was horrible.

    Now, what is the gameplay like? It's the same as the first. Not much difference. On top of that, I found the AI to be horrible. I decided to test the AI and stand on a box during a level. The AI had trouble climbing up to get to me. Once it did, it did not attack me. Eventually, I stepped off of the box and stood still. The AI walked up to me, and did not attack. Why? I was not playing on an easy mode either. I chose the second hardest mode to play on. That loses a chunk of points along with the story.

    Finally, the visuals. They're great. Looking at this game makes me feel like I am watching a movie. However, a lot of games have great graphics nowadays. I am giving this a one because of the graphics. The gameplay is not any different, so I do not see any reason to give it points for that. Finally, the story. The story should be it's biggest strength. It isn't though. The best part about the story is Ellie and her girlfriend Dina. I like seeing their chemistry together. That does not save what the story has done though. Overall, this game was a massive disappointment, and I regret buying it.    … Expand

If you didn't create a unique weapons upgrade animation for every single weapon and upgrade maybe we could have gotten this game quicker and with less expectations. That being said, the melee animations, the landscape, everything is amazingly detailed, down to the blades of grass. Style-wise, the drab browns and greys are not appealing to me at all, but I see why they wanted to drab, depressing colors in this game. I don't rate graphics that highly in games that I play.

    Gameplay:

    Stuck in 2013. I heard the gameplay would be massively improved, but the best way of doing every encounter is still the same. Stealth around and kill everyone. Having to get into a gunfight isn't a failure-state, but it is not nearly as effective. Melee feels okay, but I think I actually enjoyed it more in the first game. Many games do all of the aspects of this game, but better. This is completely average.

    Story:

    This story is so bad. The pacing is awful, and the game is about 5-10 hours too long. There are so many plot contrivances and poor character logic strewn throughout the game that it makes it difficult to view the characters as characters, they are just puppets dancing on the strings of a maniacal storyteller who wanted to tell THIS specific story with these beloved figures to get an emotional reaction out of his audience. Their own established characters and logic be damned. For any fan of TLOU1, this will feel jarring at best and completely off-putting. I truly hated it, and I can't find much good of it. The flashback scenes were the only highlights, and they were few and fleeting. The whole game should have been the flashbacks.

    Overall : 3.5/10 - Graphics in a story-based game are not that important to me. The story should carry it and it doesn't. Truly disappointing experience and I can't recommend it to anyone.    … Expand

Also I am a PC gamer bought PS3 just to play GTA 5 back in the days and a friend gave me Uncharted 3 and fell in love with the series and Naughty Dogs storytelling. Bought PS4 and also bought Last of Us for PS3 and remastered for PS4. I still play the game time to time like watching a movie again and again that I like. Now lets get to Last of 2.

    Joel Dies : No problem, I knew its was going to be his fate since I first saw the revel trailer in my gut.
    How he dies: No problem there, someone taking revenge, he was not a saint
    He was stupid: He let his guard down no problem
    Lesbian, transgender, leftist messages: No problem, I think they should push more of these so we feel normal the way forward in our diverse real world
    Ending: Forgiveness, No problem with that

    THE PROBLEM ? : I do not want to play as ABBY, here is the thing I have every single Uncharted game in my collection except the lost legacy. You know why ? Because I do not care about those characters in uncharted universe. When you buy a Part 2 of a story based game you expect a certain things. For me Last of us is about Joel and Ellie like uncharted about Sully and Drake. The story could have remained same but could have been just Eliies part and later added dlc could have shown Abbys part as they shown Ellies part in first games DLC so we could justify the ending in P2 just like in P1. Force playing as Abby and breaking the story like this jumble way really messed up the story. Do not get me wrong I can handle the dark brutal story but not in this messy way. This is not upto the Naughty Dog standards. Somehow I felt cheated, if you want Abbys story you could have made another separate game like lost legacy as well. Another problem is making me feel bad, hey man whoever wrote the story, learn the difference between a dark story and making the audience feel bad forcefully. Telltale Walking Dead following Clementine was a dark story, where Joel like character Lee dies in first season. But this one is just garbage and you feel guiltier than the Walking Dead playing this game.

    Gameplay felt very polished and graphic my god it is the most gorgeous graphics I have seen in PS4 to date. Here you can see the Naughty Dog Standard. But I have a PC with 2060 TI GPU which was almost the price of a PS4. I do not play games from Naughty Dogs in PS4 for graphics but for story and experience. And if I have a bad experience and feel bad about my self after playing this game then whats the point.

    I do not want to keep this game as I will never play this again and will be selling this to second hand market, I also urge those who bought this do not want to keep sell it to second hand market and flood it. They might have leaked the footage themselves like Thor Ragnarok to create controversy and let the you tubers fired up for free marketing. They sold around four million copies already. Buy it from second hand market guys do not pay them $60, its not worth it and you will not keep it.

    Here is what I will do, I will forget about this game soon and pretend it does not exist. Again the difference between Part 1 I have 2 copy of that in my collection in a very safe showcase and this is going to another person for 20-30 droller. Another thing, good luck selling it to me and a lot of angry gamer a remastered version for PS5. This franchise is dead to me over and out.

The most hours of the game it was a gameplay with Abby and not Ellie. Even if the game logo on the dvd package showing the Ellie as the protagonist.

    I found Abby's part so boring because I had just to go to a specific location then come back to a previous then again go back to the original and doing such things that didn't make me feel excited at all. It was like I was playing a walking dead tv series in a game. Even the end of the game reminded me so much of the Nigan season.

    ND also did something wrong. They nurfed Joel and Tommy that much that I thought it was a joke or a troll to us the fans of the franchise. Joel and Tommy would never mention who they are, from where they are or asking strangers come with them to their camp. That was much accurate to me.

    Also we watched 2 official trailers with Joel saving Ellie by covering her mouth plus Ellie playing guitar and saying to Joel he will kill any last of them. Well these scenes never happened in the game. It was probably a marketing to push the sales. Showing Joel alive and kill him just in the first 2 hours like garbage or a movie walkon wasn't that cool.

    Also Ellie mentioning to Abby you will **** die, you are dead etc. and in the end nothing of this happens. Just like Rick with Nigan in the final episode that letting him be alive. So the problem here is that this game wasn't prototype at all. Just a copy of a move or tv series. While the first part was from zero to the end a real masterpiece with a great scenario.

    Another thing that was not that cool is the animal violation. In first they said you will not be forced to kill a dog but at last there were times you had to. Also killing dogs was only represented while playing as Ellie and from the other side with Abby you were only playing with a dog. That was a trick to make people love more Abby instead of Ellie?

    Well after that I felt they just humiliate our intelligence. Anyway. That's it for me and that was my personal opinion of course. Also it's sad to see a director calling his fans with negative characterizations or words like "who **** / cares for the haters"?

    And I am not talking about those fake fans that used rude and abusing language against ND or the actors. That's not right. I am talking about the real fans that paid played the game and they had their own opinion that it was different of what nd's director probably expected. Not cool when you talk like that about your customers / fans.

    Mechanically sound, although the style of narrative focused 3rd person game that Naughty Dog makes feels very rigid and dated in 2020. The desire to forage around for supplies interrupting many story moments that are supposed to feel rushed or urgent.     The Last of Us Part II is the high point of the PlayStation 4. The plot is controversial, but the game is the incredibly addictive adventure of Ellie, from which it is impossible to pull away from the opening and to the very end.

    Not everyone is going to enjoy the motives of The Last of Us Part II. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then... You will witness the boundaries of gaming expand. You will witness a true masterpiece.
