    I don't really like the maps as well as there are so many places that looks 90% the same or have to revisit again and again.
    The story is just a nightmare. I simply would not want play as Micah to learn his background( and don't get to kill Micah either) after Arthur is dead in RDR2 and half of this game is exactly about that. Forced and disgusting cutscene are just icing on the damn cake.    … Expand

    So I'm a few hours into the game now and I'm done with it. I'm not even going to carry on and try to finish it. I'm just not interested.
    The game is visually stunning. The gameplay is pretty much the same as TLoU with few additions. But that's about it when it comes to pros.
    The storytelling is horrible, makes no sense and is full of plot holes. Poor writing at it's finest. I'm not going    So I'm a few hours into the game now and I'm done with it. I'm not even going to carry on and try to finish it. I'm just not interested.

And on top of that they used false advertisement to make people believe that they were going to go on another adventure with Ellie and Joel where in reality every trailer involving Joel was fake. They forced him to become oblivious to the world he lives in just to have a shock factor kill early into the game. Please explain to me in what world is Joel and Tommy going to walk Into and ambush like a bunch of fools? In Last of us 1 Joel clearly spots and ambush! After Abby kills Joel, How in the world does she allow HIS BROTHER and a Girl who clearly loved him to live? Did you not think that they weren't going to seek revenge like you spent all this time seeking revenge? Lastly at the end, this whole game felt useless after Ellie decides to let Abby live.... What was the whole point of this game? Tis was a cash grab, the game should of have been sequeled if this was the treatment they were gonna give it smh… Expand

    Beautiful scenery I'll give you that and a great soundtrack. Loved like 2 of the new characters. Story otherwise was........not good. I think it could have been a bit better if they had focused on what made the first game so great.

    Spoiler part : This game is absolutely not logic with the first one because in the first one joel was injured at 70% of the game they could make him die but they choose to make him survive and that participate to the final choice of saving ellie or let her to die to create a cure and then we got the ending were joel lie to ellie so if there is sequel why it's not focus on a story of sacrifice and trust ? why it is random **** revenge story that bring absolutely nothing , i watched a full let's play of the game it's so crap, ellie change her mind 4 times about revenge on abby wtf during the story wtf ? how could have joel been trapped so stupidely reveling their camp location to strangers and knowing from last of us 1 that could see a ambush just by looking a guy and know that he was predenting to be injured wtf neil ? what is the point of this game ? nothing or just to say yeye don't revenge guys it's not cool xd ? wtf ?     Just boring and repetitive, and you if you played the original I would stay away from this it might ruin your memories. It's usually not possible for me that a sequel would ruin the original but this one just managed to corrupt the past.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I’ve been seeing online that this game has been getting review bombed, leading to people not taking the reviews seriously. So as a person who has actually played the game I wanted to give my own take. And that is , is this game shouldn’t exist....period.

    *I pre-ordered and got the game early*

    So where do I begin.

    I think it is purely insulting to say the least that you have Joel in a lot of the advertisements leading up to the game but you use him for what seems to be 30-40 minutes. Yes you heard me right. A character you spent hours even days playing in the first game , is killed off within the first two hours of the game. To put that into context , within the first four hours of the game I had played with Ellie’s guitar more than Joel. Let’s not mention the fact that Joel is killed off in the most “Weak” Way possible. A character who single handedly took down buildings of dozens of men in the previous game. Is mortality wounded within 5 seconds Without a chance to fight back ... A character who deserved a death like Arthur Morgan or John Marston is killed within five minutes. Joel was a bad guy at times in the last of us 1.
    He chose Ellie over a cure but that doesn’t mean you go off and kill him so quickly....brutally and without any dignity. CHRIST you know it’s bad if the main creator of the game Neil Druckmann is one of the bad guys and SPITS on Joel saying “Burn in Hell pendejo”

    His death seems even more unjustified when you play as a younger Ellie in flashbacks and you see him actually putting in effort , actually acting like a father figure. But no He is killed off so brutally and almost synonymously , his death was like long time fans of the game where also getting hit in the head by a golf club by the creators.

    From this point on the game gets almost immediately ...depressing? ....like yes I wanted to go and kill Joel’s killers but at the same time ...Ellie wasn’t acting the same, she was a lot more aggressive and rightfully so and she didn’t even seem remotely similar to the girl I met or the girl I see in the flashbacks.

    I played the game for a few more hours until the ending itself was spoiled for me. Normally it wouldn’t but after I heard what Ellie does I REFUSE to play the rest of the game for now. It left me with such a sour taste when I watched the end fight scene.

    The scene itself looks boring.. it’s just two of them in a lake going in circles.
    Abby ends up biting Ellie’s fingers off resulting in her not being able to play the guitar again I believe ? You know that feature that was put I so we could bond and remember Joel ...gone.
    And then Ellie let’s her go and cries in a lake ...by herself. It’s a depressing and unjustified ending to a sequel we didn’t want or need. I could go on and on for why this game totally sucks , people bring up Joel’s death and the sex scene
    The scene itself didn’t bother me when I watched it , but I believe the character who is f**king Abby is the creator of the game ? If so , did he Mocap himself doing that with the actress ?
    That’s just wrong on so many cases. Bet he created that scene purposely haha

    Now why am I not giving this game a completely Negative score even though it deserves it , well because .the game is good looking , at points it looked like concept art , the really highly detailed stuff. . The world itself is just amazing , an upgrade from the first one but it sucks to that because the could have done so so so much more with it but they just don’t. And that’s it , I was gonna write more about this game but just like the thing in question at the start I had a lot of passion but near the end I just got bored and gave up because , it’s all been done and said before.     Man am i happy that i didn't buy the game, i first wanted to watch some gameplay footage to see if the rumors are true. Graphics are amazing and - that's it. Everything else is bad. The story is poorly written, the characters are poorly designed, the combat seems really not as good as the first game. I'm never again buying a Naughty dog game untill they fire that moron Druckman.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. My biggest gripe being Joel's death. It felt so undignified. He was acting all out of character, and his brother. I am not mad that he died bc it was bound to happen with him being that "mentor" character. But the way he died made no sense. Lets look back in the first game. It was established that Joel is a seasoned survivor that is not very trusting of new people. So much so as in running over a stranger who was calling for help in the streets bc he saw that it was a trap. He was very careful and cautious of basically everything.

    All of that was absent in this game. Him and Tommy just trusted Abby's group and told them their real names. No sense of caution, or carefulness even though they were all about that in the previous game. They made them stupid and killed Joel for no reason other than plot convenience. They needed him to die so Ellie can have a revenge plot. On top of it all, they had the audacity to make us play as Abby for half the game. Why would we want to play as her? She was so boring and uninteresting. We came for Ellie and Joel, not Abby. It's like when in Halo 5 you played as Locke for more than half the game when everyone wanted to play as Chief. I would've been fine with his death if we at least got to play Joel and didn't kill him so quickly. The trailers were so misleading, implying Joel would have a mush more import role in the story and selling a completely different tone than what was expected. And I know they wanted to "subvert expectations" but this was an example of a great concept but very poor execution and has The Last Jedi vibes.

    Lastly, the ending sucked. Ellie should've killed Abby. It was established in the first game that Joel was the most important person in Ellie's life (she even said this). And for her to let Abby live and basically save her, it's like that wasn't present. I guess she forgot. I know they were going for a "revenge bad" theme but when you killed EVERY SINGLE person in Abby's group EXCEPT Abby herself felt so damn unsatisfying. What even was the point of this game? What did they spend 7 years on? Clunky mechanics and a half-made story?

    I didn't like this game. The graphics look OKAY at best but nothing really impressed me. The level design was poor and felt really handheld. How convenient as we walk through a ruined city that every single window is boarded up except the ONE window the game wants me to go in. Mechanics were almost the same as the first game but somehow felt more clunky. Most of the side characters are either boring, useless (looking at Dina), or both. Again, what did they spend 7 years on? I would've given this a 0/10 at first but after collecting my thoughts, I'd give it a 2/10 bc the game was at the very least able to run.    … Expand

If any of the positive reviewers have ever played the first game with any shred of attention or passion for it then i really don't understand where they are comming from calling it great and inronically calling the story a supposed "masterpiece" ...

    Whereas the first game is unforgettable due to the tone it set, combining bitter reality with a theme of hope, and well established characters that we all grew to know and love, the second game almost spits on all that was built up, and presents us a world that doesn't correspond with the theme astablished, and characters who are anything but a continuation of what they were and are. Joel was going to be killed eventually yes due to what he did at the end of the first game, but the way they did it in the second is just purely **** writing. When it happens, nobody knows who the **** Abby is, and after that we are expected to play as her to only then after 10 hours understand who she was and why (taking the fact that she is a super bland character with no real draw or motives out of the picture for a second). A proper execution would have been for us to first understand who she is, and where she is comming from and then have it lead up to the climax of confronting Joel. Combine that with the fact that Joel is established in the first game as a very mistrusting person, always seeing through traps, people's intentions and even not trustinnlg Ellie with a switchblade (out of fear she might hurt herself that is). Having him walk into a base with strangers, giving up their names with their guard fully down is the last thing he would ever do. The writer took him out of character for an opportunity to kill him off quick for shock value, and to even be able to insert his cgi self spitting on his corpse, this whole seen and that move can therefore be seen as a spit in the face of the fans by Druckman himself.

    Its also just plainly bad writing to make it seem like Joel saving her life didn't matter **** to her ... if the writers had actually bothered to put some depth into it they could have made it into a longer played out internal conflict that would have made for an actual good story.

    Now the story is just about 24 hours of constant revenge while simultaneously having a political agenda shoved down your throat. It doesn't belong in the world that was so cleverly thought out and brought to life in the first game. The zombies are so absent from the story now that they could just as well have been removed, so now the suspense they created in the first game is reduced to them feeling like some annoying npc part of a puzzle to get to the next cutscene

    Its just a whole game long where the player has to carry out one person's revenge fantasy after the other ... there is no depth to it, just a rinse and repeat viewed from different perspective played by characters that feel like husks compared to the complexity they had in the first game... Also there is no exiting goal anymore ... no outcome to work towards, just revenge upon revenge upon revenge plot

    Also the tone is nothing like what we got in the first game. The first game was already set in dark bitter reality so i don't buy the whole "but its more like reality now" argument, but the thing that kept you playing and made the game so good was the underlying tone of hope that carried the characters through, gave the story its gripping aspect and made everything feel like it mattered. At the end of the second game there is nothing you have really accomplished. No goal was reached that meant anything, we are left with some dead people, the villain walking away and being better off than the protagonist and no sense of satisfaction whatsoever. Its just 24 hours of "i kill u cuz i mad that u killed this person"

    So no, the story was just a prime case of lazy, bad writing anf showed no respect for artistical integrity. Joels death was done poorly and in total disregard for who we got to know in the first game, and so was the rest of the story. Badly written, shallow, it really added nothing of value to the timeline and on top of that tried to be way to political for the environment it takes place in. At the end of this game, there is no sense of accomplishment or satisfaction, we are left with an empty feeling, wishing we'd have never walked into this game and had just let the story end where the first game did. hence the story in all its aspects really just is a bunch of horse****, and a slap in the face for fans of the first game.    … Expand

I pre ordered the game and i was waiting it for 7 years...it was garbage,the gameplay was ok,graphics were good,but the story and the ending(especially the last 2-3 hours)was garbage.And i didn't paid money to play the story of a charachter that killed joel in the first 2 hours

    Cinematic videogames don't evolve the same way movies do, so by the time I had a taste of the story it just felt like a movie I've seen a hundred times before just with uninspired, generic gameplay in-between. Looks real nice though.

I know the devs want us to play Abby to know her story and want us to understand why she did it, but they used the worst way possible, we cannot feel anything but hate the moment she killed our favourite character. And we have to play Abby for nearly 8 hrs. I felt disgusted at the second half of the game. Plus the ending is terrible, I have no idea why Ellie let Abby go after all those lives she killed. I post this comment simply because i cannot let these people who think that they are better than us to ruin any more of my beloved game, movie and etc franchises. Why did the Naughty Gog show this scene and why? What did they want to influence us with this scene? I'm not saying now that Abby has a terrible figure, but guys!     Про волосатые подмышки, выстрел девушке в ногу после чего она может бегать прыгать как не знаю Кто. Как Джоэла поставили на колени и просто убили самым наипозорнешим способом на глазах буквально у дочери, убийство Томми тоже самым идиотским способом... Два героя, которые в первой части сражались плечом к плечу и даже по одиночке разносили просто целые банды бандитов, оравы щелкунов и бегунов, унизила какая-то накаченная под белками самодовольная мразота. А все это перечисленное из за кого? Правильно, из за КОЕ КАКОЙ ХОРОШЕЙ ПОДРУГИ НИЛА ДРАКМАНА, ГОРЕТЬ В АДУ ЭТОЙ МР*ЗОТЕ. Люди из студии убивали себя буквально внутри, создавая данную игру, люди которые работали над первой частью когда работали над второй, буквально не выносили этот БРЕД и уходили из компании.     Definitely not as good as the last game. And Ellie has lost all of her wit and funny comments. She does not feel as smart as the game before. And the pacing as often too fast for me to really feel something for characters, but some get more screen time then others. Characters are more introduced then built up, and after they are introduced it feels like Ellie has known them for some years already.

    It often feels like things are forced upon the story like love, death and sorrow. And sometimes it feels downright disrespectful against the first game. And in some circumstances while playing this game I myself did not want to play anymore because of certain decisions.

    There are really no interesting characters. Either characters are innocent or they are evil. There is no inbetween crazy or funny. The game feels way to generic, and often not thought out. In some cases I was left wondering why they did certain things.

    The gameplay is also good, but it feels a lot like The Last Of Us. You can dodge and prone. But besides that they did not introduce anything new gameplay wise. Witch is fine by me, I always liked how the game played. Mainly because I was so interested in the story, but in The Last Of Us 2 I felt myself playing just for knowing the whole story. I did not enjoy it, and it felt like doing a task at work. Fun.

    I could come up with a better story in mere minutes/hours then to make everything about revenge and killing. But I am not going to spoil anything.

    They somehow made this game look stunning, but nobody knew about good storytelling? What did all of the story writers quit their job? I'm sure this game paid for good reviews, because the story/plot is so bad a 5yr old could come up with better.

    The game rushes from one thing to another too fast and people die way to fast.

The writing in this game represents a disturbing trend in modern gaming. Similar to Final Fantasy 7 Remake, we are seeing more and more studios abandon the source material in almost overt attempts to subvert audience expectations for its own sake. It is the writing equivalent of clickbait. Innovation is welcome, but subversion for its own sake is childish and demonstrates only contempt for source materials rather than passion. The dev team can be quoted as saying they intentionally made story and art decisions they believed would be the opposite of what players would want. Ask yourself, do you want to play a game that developers designed to be frustrating and unsatisfying?

    Think of what you could do with $60. You could buy groceries, buy your significant other a nice gift, spend it on yourself for a day off, put it in savings, or invest it. Naughty Dog's answer to "why do we deserve your money?" is: because we will make your main character gay, make the antagonist a muscular woman, and add trans-people. Bravo, Druckmann. This is not activism. This is pandering. Learn the difference, Naughty Dog.

I don't care about the amazing graphics when I'm forced to play half of the game as a buffed up psycho I have no sympathy for. I'm tired of seeing weak ass feminist plots. But I’m afraid anyone who enjoyed the story and characters of the first game will be sorely disappointed with the direction of this one. It seems as though the team at naughty dog have taken it upon themselves to look at everything positive from the first one and flip it on its head. The Story choices just seem bizarre and nonsensical, having a certain beloved character be beaten to death by the most macho woman I’ve ever seen and then have to play as said character just made me want to quit right there, playing as Abby was horrendous after killing Joel I Had no sympathy for the character no emotional connection, I just can’t get my head round why the people at naughty dog thought this would be a good idea. All in all visually it’s beautiful but I’m afraid that’s it’s only redeeming quality because everything else truly stinks, I just feel sorry for fans who’ve waited over 7 years for something that is truly terrible.… Expand

    The game kind of just takes you around in a circle, and forces you to play as and meet characters you really don’t care about. A majority of the game is super boring and repetitive, and the only good part is the stunning visuals and graphics.

    Basically 3/10 only because of how the game looks, the story is hugely flawed and has no satisfaction to it. Huge disappointment.

    Awful. Terrible story. Terrible characters. There is no point in the game. This is a just a huge, funded, pointless Assassin's Creed clone. Neil is **** up all "TLOU" branding. It is just boring game. Fight mechanism is fine but if you just wanna focus fighting, stealth objects. Why you are doing that thing under "TLOU" brand. Just overrated game.     The most disappointing story. So many stamps have not been seen even in marvel movies. Primitive plot moves, that can be seen in every mediocre movie/video game, are presented as something pretentious. The gameplay of a typical console game. Just a waste of money

    It took 7 years for this game to come out and yet it failing to live up to its predecessor in every possible way, according to Shigeru Miyamoto "A delayed game is eventually good, but a rushed game is forever bad," however no number of delays or pushbacks could have ever solved any of the problems with this garbage fire of a game.

Paid fake critics that are writing positive reviews because they get paid and because truth wouldn't sound tolerant enough to please minorities that wont even ****in play this game. Story is disgusting piece of **** Imagine waiting 7 years for this trash. No improvements in mechanics or gameplay, the only good thing is graphics and visuals. Were we all just waiting for some appealing graphics? For 7 years Naughty Dog couldn't think of anything else than revenge plot. HOW? WHY? This is soo stupid. They couldn't even finish the story properly where Ellie gets her redemption. Ellie just kills 1000s of people just to forgive the one who killed Joel who was like Father to Ellie.How ****ing stupid this is. Devs, what were you thinking? Were you thinking that this game and this story will teach me to forgive or what ? Killing tons of enemies, whole game is based on violence violence, no elements of survival at all and in the end its just forgiveness. Stop this political propaganda, SJW all of this is irrelevant in this game. Killing a lead male character just to promote your Feminism in the game. I dont mind Ellie being a lesbian and I dont mind playing as Ellie or other Female characters at all! But this story is Bull****. We all are here to play video games and enjoy them, video games shoudn't promote **** like this with sjw/gender propaganda or any other stuff. One more thing keep this Anita Sarkeesan away from game industry, she is out of her mind. But if you try and manage to accept the subliminal and not so subtle messages as a fact that the world has gone awry and that people have the need to have somewhere or someone to belong to as their own way out, then...
