I want to give this game a higher rating to support single-player endeavours rather than the trite we got from Battlefront, however there are just too many glaring issues that I couldn't overlook once I'd seen them.

The graphics allows you the typical performance mode vs resolution. The difference is noticeable, however even in performance mode I had serious framerate dips and chopping.

The graphics allows you the typical performance mode vs resolution. The difference is noticeable, however even in performance mode I had serious framerate dips and chopping. This wasn't even during hectic scenes; it happened randomly. When it worked it worked amazingly and I loved seeing 60FPS lightsaber action but this was hindered far too often.

The story of the game is fairly by the numbers, although I didn't progress far enough to experience it properly. I liked that it went down a more original route rather than imitating movies or rebooting old material. This had the foundation for an amazing game if not for the issues I'll outline below.

The gameplay is where the game really falters. Fallen Order does not shy away from its inspirations, however this goes a step too far in that it basically copy and pastes mechanics and concepts from games like Dark Souls, Assassins Creed, Uncharted, and Ratchet and Clank. Unfortunately, it doesn't do a very good job of this. The holomap is a confusing mess. The meditation spots not being used for fast travel is a bewildering oversight. The parrying seems temperamental and chaotic. Traversal is fun at first but eventually becomes a chore and the puzzles are very irritating.

I will give credit for including an option for difficulty levels that helps overcome mundane boss fights, something I think Soulborne games need.

The problem I have with this game is that it comes across like a handful of developers had some budget left over from the Battlefront games but resources were very limited. If not for the Jedi and lightsaber elements, it would be a very simplistic and dated experience. It could have benefitted from being a smaller experience because there just isn't enough depth and variety to maintain interest for the entire game. Having said that, I am very interested in a sequel should improvements be made.

There is a lot of side stuff you can do such as secret mini bosses and a bunch of collectibles to discover. The game uses a skill tree to learn new moves and grow your health and force power. However none of the gear you find do anything for you as its only cosmetics. Some of the problems this game does have preventing me from giving it a higher score is that it is rather buggy at times and sometimes has frame rate drops. There is also no fast travel which can make running back to your ship rather tedious when you are on some of the bigger planets. One of my personal favorite features is the use of a 3d mapping system that makes finding secret areas and your way around much easier, even though most people have a problem with the map I found it refreshing. The game also has no mini map so you will be opening your map frequently until you learn each planet and some can be very confusing. The characters are very well done and the voice acting couldn't have been more perfect. If you enjoy Star Wars then do your self a favor and try this game. You wont regret it. Expand

Very unintuitive controls and clunky response. Many cheap deaths from jumping THROUGH the vine the character is supposed to grab (WTF????) Yeah, love roaming aimlessly because the holomap is useless. He's an effing Jedi: he can't SENSE where his destination is? Bad game.

Some of the WORST level design I have ever seen. The difficulty levels are so inconsistent. JedI Knight is too easy while Jedi Master is almost impossible. The traversal is so sensitive that one slip up and it's all over. Also the checkpoint system is ridiculous. The levels are so punishing because if you die you have to start SO. FAR. BACK. So glad I didn't pay full price for this game.

An ok story game. But plagued by inconsistent combat that seems more like hit and miss than being tactical and sharp designed. It is also not so enriching, the cast is very bareboned, minimal and far from giving you any thrills as Star Wars used to deliver.
The ending was disappointing as well. Very quick to close off the game.
Also, an EA game without any MP and MT´s. That is a rarity.

To me this game sits somewhere near God of war and Uncharted 4. The souls-like combat proved to be a challenge quite often (Jedi Master difficulty) and really fun, slicing stormtroopers or killing then with their own blaster bolts. What I really liked was the map design and I have seen some people complaining about it for not being intuitive. That's true, it can get very confusing especially in the beginning but you should get the hang of it with time and you really need to learn the maps to find your way around without much hassle but for me that's the point of a game. You need to learn the game and become better. I had so much fun going back to planets I already visited to discover new stuff/locations that were previously not accessible or that I didn't know of. Also the way all the different zones finally link together is very well designed.
I love the story and most of the characters. Some things could still be better in that area but overall it's very solid and it makes me look forward to potentially more Single-player Star Wars games. It is a neat addition that they add so much Star Wars lore into the game that true fans can recognize.
I have no experience in other third person combat games so I can't compare but personally I liked the mechanics. They can get a bit tricky at times but it's really been a nice experience personally. There's a steep learning curve to become really good at the game but that's exactly what I like and what many games nowadays are missing.
The World's look stunning but the graphics and the framerate on my standard PS4 can really get bad at times.
The lightsaber customization is very well done but there's still room for more. What i was missing was slightly more character customization.
Maybe some more force powers could have been implemented as other people were criticizing.
The way the game saves is probably the worst part of the game but you get the hang of it and for most parts complete the story trouble-free.
I give the game a solid 7, low 8 but I raised it to 9 due to many people ranting on it.
For it to be a 10 more things should be improved which we'll hopefully see in a new game in the not so distant future.

    4) DIFFICULTY!! Yes this is god damn main problem.

    - **** camera that is always late

There are so many edges and cliffs and rock and cracks that doesn't work.

The combat doesn't have the "honesty" of Dark souls, in the sense that you can't really dodge and block. Studying your enemy pattern isn't very gratifying as their moves are random, stupid and much faster than your own attacks. It's pretty much just a silly button with low hp smasher until you get stronger.

The story doesn't make much sense neither.

The enemy design is very weird. Fighting giant birds hasn't much to do with Star Wars.

The game has a few nice flashes, but don't touch this unless you're a heavy gamer and already played the better games it draws from without taking any risks: Horizon, Dark Souls trilogy, Seikiro, God of war, Uncharted and so on.

Parkour/platforming is fun and is probably considered average compared to the assassins creeds of the world. Exploration and hunting for chests/secrets is probably the best i've seen done in a game like this, its tons of fun finding lightsaber parts you really like scattered across the galaxy, and the secrets (which boost your health and maximum force) are very rewarding as they can make you much stronger in combat. Overall the combat was extremely balanced, and the game did a fantastic job of maintaining a consistent level of difficulty from start to finish, without feeling unfair or annoying in any way. The story is well above average and will definitely keep you playing for a while. Most of the characters are pretty well written, particularly Greez, and BD-1. (which is surprising considering he has almost literally no dialog ) While a couple of characters may feel a tad forced or artificial at times, those times are few and far between and are quite short. This game reminds me very much of games of the 7th gen, which, I think if you ask anyone is quite a good thing; it does not have any microtransactions and has a generally old school approach to progression and level design. Overall, if you're looking for a fun game, I would recommend it. If you're looking for a fun star wars game, it's a must buy. Expand

It is hard to say something new that others haven't said already. It is a good Star Wars game (sadly the bar not been set high recently) but not a great game overall. As others said, there are sections closed off depending on your abilities, but the worst part is that when u come back with the said ability u still have to start the level almost from the beginning, the game does offer u shortcuts but it is not near enough for this. The save points are very infrequent, when there is a platforming section there are save points way too often I think, but when u are fighting multiple waves of enemies there is barely any.
My biggest gripe are the bossfights, I think it is extremely unbalanced, I like a bit of a challenge so I went with the Jedi Knight difficulty, it worked alright most of the time, but there I found myself hitting the air so many times or stuck in some combo way too many times. I do understand that this may appeal for Dark Souls fans but not for me, also the last 2 major bosses I had to turn the difficulty down to beat them, and weirdly I managed to beat them straight away without using any stimpacks, I think the difficulty is way too imbalanced. Overall, the story is not bad, it has major pacing issues but I appreciate the different characters and the story remained canon. Wielding a lightsaber apart from those bossfights seemed good. If it is on sale (£40 or less) it is worth it, I hope that from here Star Wars games only going up in quality.

I will say there was one character who was introduced fully later on in the game and I am so gutted she wasn’t used more. The villain, the Second Sister was incredible and had such an incredible back story, I loved everything about her, she was one of the characters I thought looked the best and was written the best out of them all.

Herein lies the game’s biggest strength, and its biggest draw, the story. The narrative of the game was very interesting and engaging and is what saved this game from being a complete disaster in my eyes. Learning more about the time between the main films is so exciting for me and I love being introduced to a new crew, some new villains, but also some familiar faces, it is so rewarding.

Although there is a lot of good things to be said about Jedi: Fallen Order, there is a lot that could have been improved on and I can’t help but think that if they had just left it for a few more months or even a year this could have been one of the best Star Wars games we have seen. However, even the stunning environments, fun lightsaber action and incredible narrative couldn’t mask the jarring character graphics, glitches and heavy-handed cinematic moments of gameplay.

Second: The graphics were a little glitchy here and there, resulting in blurred landscapes or a character's clothes shaking or waving around during the cutscenes. It wasn't SUPER pervasive throughout the game; just happened a little too often to forget.

Apart from that? Honestly, it's a great game: Tough without being insurmountable (and you can adjust the difficulty to your liking), smooth controls, and diverse, beautiful landscapes. There's a nice, small, intimate cast of characters too- all original, save for one that appears at the end.

I loved Cal. He was a lovely character with great development over the course of the game, and I sincerely hope that if/when a sequel rolls around we get to see more of him and BD-1.

My sense of "triumph" when overcoming hard challenges in games is completely dwarfed by my sense of "what the hell am I doing with my life right now" when dying in aforementioned games 50 times in a row.

Beyond that it's a pretty good game, although having a 3D platformer with free camera controls definitely can lead to frustration. The free camera also makes it more difficult to establish points of reference, which can be a problem in long maps that look exactly the same everywhere and force you to traverse the entire thing over and over. Still a great game made by talented people imo.

On the one hand it's that kind of Star Wars game I always dreamed about. Only Singleplayer with a from Software-gameplay, a very nice story with great characters. It also has a neat Soundtrack and a great level design.
On the other hand the gameplay isn't that smooth as you expect. Parrying is slightly different than it is in Sekiro (compared with Sekiro because it has many similaritys) . It works great when it comes to block/parry blastershots but parrying monsters didn't worked very well for me. In a 1v1 duel or a boss fight combat is simply awesome! When it comes to a fight with multiple enemys it's just confusing and difficult. Crowd control isn't that good in my opinion. There were also way too much dungeons and climbing passages in the game. They were executed mostly fine but when it comes to Star Wars I prefer fighting!

Things they are absolutely not acceptable:

-loading time. Seriously after dying you have to wait OVER 40 sec to respawn.. After the loading time the game is still loading: textures or enemys for example. On several points i was able to walk through a platform without fighting because the enemys spawned to late. When i realized that i had to wait after a damn long loading time. This kind of stuff totally killed the fun for me. Especially when you play on the hardest step and fight against a boss that "oneshots" you.

    -second point: glitches.
During my playthrough i glitched a bunch of times through the wall and falled "out" of the game that i had to quit and reload the game. I lost a lot of time. I would guess around 1-2 hours of progress. Nearly 5 month after release I can expect a bit more of a game than that.
On some points in the game enemys stuck inside the wall or had no animation. Fortunately it happened not that often.

Still, because these points my rating is going down from 8.5 or 9 to 7 points out of 10.
With this rating the game gets away pretty well. It's kinda sad because the potential is on point the game just got released unfinished in my opinion.

Star Wars game inspired by Dark Souls and Tomb Raider. Great game with very rewarding combat and good story. Your lightsaber feels dangerous and deadly, with skillfully executed attacks and parrying you can obliterate your enemies with minimal damage. There are sadly some technical issues and bugs, but nothing gamebreaking! FYI this game is not as difficult as Dark Souls, so don't worry!

I really, really, REALLY, wanted to like this game. I enjoyed "The Force Unleashed" (and liked "TFU2 even more). The gameplay videos I'd seen prior to release made me think that this was going to be similar to those games, or that this was a Star Wars game that was going to do for the genre what "Arkham Asylum" did for Batman.

    Unfortunately, no.

I started this game shortly after Christmas, putting the setting on "Jedi Master" since it said to choose the setting if you were familiar with melee games. That checked the box for me, being proficient at Assassin's Creed, Batman: Arkham, Uncharted, and even Tomb Raider. Nope.

Roughly 1/3 - 1/2 of the way through the game, many walkthrough videos viewed for boss fights, etc, I ratcheted it down to "Jedi Knight" since I wasn't getting anywhere in the arena fight. Then, I had to yield to the final boss and take it down to Story Mode after not getting close to victory in 20+ attempts. Fortunately, there are no trophies for difficulty completion.

Graphics are nothing earth shattering, MoCap animation is fine. Music is better than average as it does a worthy job of setting the mood no matter what planet you're exploring. Jerome from "Gotham" does well as the lead voice actor, Cal, and the puzzles aren't mind-bendingly difficult, though some take a bit of time/trial and error.

My praise pretty much ends here.

"Failure is part of the journey," says Cere, one of your companions. Ironic understatement. The people who will do well in this game are those who play games by studying the animatronics and the code underlying the characters on the screen to get an edge. I don't/can't/won't do that. If you're like me, and I suspect most gamers are, you're facing enemies like they're flesh-and-blood.

Anyway, survival skill 1: Learn to love the "Lock." I never do this in other games, but this is a must during boss fights, and could be helpful for melees against scrubs. The camera has a terrible knack of turning AWAY from your target(s) while you try to position yourself and then by the time you find the opponents again, you've lost half your health.

Survival Skill 2: Try to figure out the "parry" function. Yeah, this isn't a skill so much as a "hope." If you hold the parry, your opponent almost 100% of the time goes into their "unblockable/red" attack. If you try to time it, the game decides it's wrong and you get hit anyway. If you mash it, it's some of "A," some of "B." With a lack of telegraphing from most opponents, boss or otherwise, calling it difficult is kind.

Survival Skill 3: get used to the healing mechanic being useless in the heat of battle. if you cannot gain separation, you will not be able to heal.

    Other significant flaws include:

    a) Swinging and hitting nothing. Whoever designed the "hit boxes" on the opponents should not be welcomed back to any sequel. You've got a vulnerable enemy one second, so you press your advantage...and swing your saber around and don't hit anything.

    b) (slightly related) - Overly complicated/clunky fight controls. I don't know what else to say except that a lot of times you feel like you're guessing (refer to survival skill 2). With no in-game training module (like Force Awakens), there's really no opportunity to learn how to use the new skills you acquire.

    c) Failing to jump/steer multiple times on the "slalom" runs. At least you don't DIE every time you fall - it just takes a chunk of your life and then you restart, but there are times when you think, "Ok, I jumped too early there, I'll just wait an extra half-second" then you wait a bit the next time, and Cal doesn't jump at all. Then his just flat-out misses the next platform for no reason at all.

    d) Painfully-long respawn time. I reckon this is related to the mechanic that every time you rest, all enemies come back, but that's gotta be fixed for any future endeavors.

In sum, the story is the ONLY thing that kept me playing this game (though I took a month break or so). It's good Star Wars lore, and the Imperial Walker mission on Kashyyyk is probably the high point of this game.

I hope that this game in the annals of video game development becomes what the first Assassin's Creed game was to what followed: They fixed the control and load issues while maintaining the quality of the story.

"Persistence reveals the path," says Cal's master Jaro Tapal says.

"No," I reply. "Not in this game."

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is overrated and was overhyped !

    - The story is totally linear without any choices
    - The combat is repetitive
    - Lightsaber fights are bad without any combat-mechanics
    - Lightsabers are like rubber baseball bats
    - Lightsabers can't cut off body parts

Boss fights quality is not comparable with sekiro or soulsbornes. All and All star wars jedi is a fun game before you start some serious games. Respawn shows a level of mastery yet again and proved that Titanfall 2 wasn't just a once in a blue moon experience. I still believe Titanfall 2 is a better game but Jedi Fallen Order is a great game regardless and what makes it great is the aforementioned story and combat. Combat in Jedi Fallen Order is fun and intuitive, it expands on the souls formula in surprising ways by introducing more combos thanks to different unlockable lightsaber abilities that can shift up the combat when it starts to get stale.
Boss fights are also great and are definitely the standout parts of the game, the final boss in particular is a challenging encounter that requires a good understanding of all the skills you have learned up to that point however the actual ending is anti climactic and implies a sequel could be in the works but some more closure would have been nice.
But the only thing that keeps Jedi Fallen Order from reaching a 10 is it suffers from a lack of replayablity as when the story ends you can freely explore the planets to get collectibles you missed but once thats done there is no point in continuing with the playthrough. A NG+ mode with added mechanics and more collectibles and more reasons to continue playing but as it stands this game is a once and done deal.
Overall if you are a massive Dark Souls or Star Wars fan this game is a no brainer to pick up and I would highly recommend it as a fan of both series.

Watched the films, there alright and I suppose the game might be a little more enjoyable if you are a star wars fan but either way I found the game to be brilliant. Great story line, looks and feels great and the character development works really well. One of the best of 2019.

    Other flaws include:
    - Long load times/death screens

    - Inaccurate difficulties where even the second lowest difficulty needs mastery of combat (I've beaten GoT on hard, they did difficulty and combat right) because of the janky combat and enemies

    - Ledges and rails need 100% precise landing or you fall off (feels like you can't even be off kilter by 1cm)

    - Enemies that move like a ragdoll, flailing their arms half the time you don't even know what direction they're moving (not all of them)

    - Bad tutorials and explanations of mechanics

    - Horrible map system

    - Character doesn't even mark locked chests on map, so you can go back to them once you get the required skill

    - Too much backtracking needed if you wanted to go back and get to areas or chests you couldn't otherwise get to before, with no tracking available

    - Getting skills you learned when you were a kid as a reward to finishing tombs

    - Tombs/puzzles drag on for way too long

    The good things:
    - Music

    - Force is fun to use

Finding it very repeatative. Not much action.Bored that after a few hours I don't think I can play it anymore. Not enough action and to much trying to find the right way as the map is pretty crap and muddled.I really wanted this to be great and at least a bit of fun..I guess I should have none as it's an EA game.

I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the Star Wars aspect of this game. However, I didn't realize how big the world was going to be, and I won't finish the game for a long time because the backlog of games I have on my list is too long to give this one a try. I liked the combat well enough. I'm not into the sort of skill tree this game chose. I made it halfway through the first world and I went, uh oh, it doesn't look like exploring the world will be fun and the game's cramming it down my throat.

Good game, I would have enjoyed it further had it felt like there was more action. I also was enjoying the story. But goodness, the puzzles in this game were limited enough to where I just wanted to progress in the story. I don't play Star Wars to climb and zipline.

Another annoying problem is that progress cannot be saved at any time, but only on specific places (which are not that common). I mean... really? I thought that was something of the games of nineties, but in 2020 that decision seems stupid at most. Finally, the game is too hard, and despite you can lower the difficulty level, I believe it is not well balanced and any difficulty level other than the easiest is too hard, making it less enjoyable. Ah, I almost forget also that you can only recover health on the save points, which makes the lack of save points even more annoying. On top of that, there are some silly game mechanics that do not make any sense, like all the gliding through slopes like if main character, Cal, were surfing on his bare feet or forcing the character to revisit those huge maps by placing objectives in opposite corners of each map. Leaving all this problems behind, the story is nice and it is the Star Wars world, so you could kind of pardon some of the issues but they are too big. Expand

My minor complaints are platforming issues and random glitches. Some of the game’s most epic moments were tarnished by me falling “to my death.” Most of the time, it wasn’t my fault. The game is forgiving, as you just lose some health and retry, but the thrill of doing it in one take was gone.

This game genuinely feels like Star Wars. It’s filled with action-packed set pieces, comedy, betrayal, and even playful or dramatic music to fit the tone. Fans will love it, while people less familiar with the franchise will understand why it is so revered.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I finished the game on Saturday and am close to having the Platinum now. It has been a while since I played a really enjoyable Star Wars game and with EAs Track Record, I was very apprehensive of getting this one. While there are some flaws in the game, it is overall super enjoyable. Now let's go into some positive parts of the game:

    - All fights feel good and while most aren't very hard, all story critical fights were decently hard
    - Fighting Trilla felt like the endboss fight, that it should feel like
    - Darth Vader showing up after the endboss fight and seeing how utterly weak you are compared to him, felt right
    - The story was good, but ended in the way I thought it would
    - Finding all the lore all around the world was nice
    - No microtransactions
    - Lots of Lightsaber cosmetics to make your lightsaber feel like yours

    Now for the negative points:

    - Default generic male protagonist - having a custom character creator would have been nice
    - Sliding is the most annoying part in the game. It controls weird
    - Bugs, especially when jumping to another platform and then glitching through the world and falling to your death is really annoying
    - Only Ponchos that look pretty weird, some more cosmetic customizables would have been nice

All in all, this still is a really good, and while it is not perfect it is definitely a step in the right direction. If you enjoy Action RPGs and Star Wars, I believe you'll enjoy this game

    MAJOR negative point:
    - Respawn has created a "meditation system". This is a save point for your own progression. Every time you die (which happens quite often on a more difficult level), you are placed back to the last point. However, this is often a point that you have already reached 20 minutes ago. Result: You have to walk the entire route again including defeating your enemies for a second time (or more). This is badly worked out by Respawn and it takes the fun away pretty quickly.

The game draws players into a dark episode of the Star Wars timeline. You play as Cal Kestis, a fugitive is thrust from a life of seclusion into a galaxy-wide quest.

The story and characters are very believable within the context of the Star Wars galaxy. The cutscenes make it a truly cinematic experience.

The controls are simple and intuitive, with movement and 3D platforming that will feel familiar. The Force adds a unique element here that gives more options for moving around.

There is plenty of room for exploration and time to explore the new mechanics that the game gradually introduces.

A well-made holomap makes sure you don't spend hours getting lost or running around without purpose.

The different worlds you go to are all beautifully crafted and the NPC's inhabiting them make them come more alive.

The game isn't just about hacking and slashing. Apart from the 3D-platforming, there are some interesting puzzles to solve where once again The Force is your greatest ally.

The combat is fluid, cinematic and exciting, with plenty of different enemy types and tactics to use.

There's definitely a challenge to be found here, but the game can be enjoyed casually too.

The story grabs your attention right unto the end, where it has a somewhat mediocre conclusion, but not a game-ruining one.

The side characters are all very interesting, but sadly don't get explored in much detail.

Some optimization issues may arise but these can be solved by following the steps in some simple Youtube guides.

The rewards for exploration could be a little better. They're worthwhile looking for but not really for going back to, meaning it doesn't help with the replay value.

Cal unlocks a nice amount of cool moves, but there's no real choices or customization of your character when it comes to how you level him up.

All in all this game is very enjoyable and will leave you eager for a DLC or a sequel, which, depending on how they expand on what they already have in place, could be Game Of The Year material.

    Short version:
Some good ideas not so well implemented as well as a variety of technical issues render what could have been the best Star Wars game of recent times into an OK game. Buy only on sale, below 30 bucks for the standard edition.

    Full review:

    1) Game Mechanics
The game combines the platforming and puzzle solving of the Uncharted and modern Tomb Raider games with a combat and experience system taken from the Dark Souls series.

I have nothing against reusing game mechanics from other titles: Horizon Zero Dawn does not have a single original element of game mechanics, but that does not detract from the experience because such mechanics are brilliantly implemented. However, Fallen Order's implementation of traversal, platforming and combat is less than good.
    - Slow response and lack of precision in combat controls, when timing and precision are required from the player to survive.
    - Climbing and jumping are unnecessarily clunky and difficult. You will feel that jumps go well or not depending on pure luck rather than skill.

In short, the game is playable but the imprecise controls will detract from your fun to a great extent.

    2) Graphics
This game sometimes looks worse than Mass Effect Andromeda.

    - The walking and running animations of the main character look like Forrest Gump and Sarah Ryder had a son and decided to dump him on a ship breaking facility and call it a day.

    - The hair on the Wookies is... I guess somewhere between a straw man and the Swamp Thing after bleaching all of its body hair. I played on a standard PS4, so I hope you guys playing on a PS pro have better luck.

    - Frame rate drops and stuttering all over the place; sometimes during whole cut scenes, which completely removes any involvement in the story.

    - Low textures left and right, as well as the usual loading of the textures in stages that sometimes takes minutes to complete.

    3) Music, sound, voice acting.
Excellent music perfectly in line with the Star Wars saga. Good voice acting across the board. Sound effects decent, with the iconic sounds for blasters, laser sabers, TIE fighters, etc.

    4) Story
Good by videogame standards. If you thought Uncharted 4 or Horizon Zero Dawn were masterpieces of storytelling, then you will find the writing here excellent. I grew up reading Douglas Adams, Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett, Alan Moore, Frank Miller... so, like I said, good by videogame standards.

    5) Other issues
    - Loading screens are not frequent, but when there's one, they are long. This means that if you come across a boss fight that you need to repeat a few times, you will spend minutes upon minutes watching the loading screen. I really hope all that bragging about SSD eliminating loading times has an inch of truth in it, because it's getting annoying.

    - The aesthetics of the main character wearing mostly ponchos... I don't know whose idea this was, but they could have at least given more options to dress the character.

    CONCLUSION:
As stated above, some good ideas executed in a so-so way, and a bunch of technical issues that the developer never cared to fix. Buy only on sale.

I absolutely love this game to bits, it has an amazing story and an amazing group of characters, I’d have to say the best part of the game was at the end and how you have to book it away from Darth Vader as he starts destroying your path. My only real nitpick is how I think there should be more to the maps or more planets period, other than that I think this game is phenomenal, I love how you can also turn your lightsaber from a single bladed to a double bladed later in the game, one other thing I wish they had was the ability to dual wield your blade whenever you want but that’s masking for too much, this game is fine without dual wielding as another combat system.

I'm glad I managed my expectations because while this is a great Star Wars story, it just doesn't do the game genre justice. Souls games work because while the difficulty is high, the gameplay and mechanics are tight and responsive. When you die, you feel like it's your fault, not the game. You know you can do better. If you had made the correct inputs at the correct time, you would have succeeded. This is not so with Fallen Order. The game is so glitchy and unresponsive. You see an attack coming and you press the correct button but nothing happens. You have the perfect window to heal but the input lags and you end up taking the next attack in the middle of one of EA's patented slow as hell motion-capture animations. The game looks great but plays terribly. I would happily sacrifice 80% of the graphical fidelity and animation realism for responsive, dependable gameplay and bug-free combat. I played through for the story, but the game was torture. Going back to DS3 or Bloodborne felt like a totally different world. Expand

Expand

This game does a great job of balancing time spent solving puzzles with time spent in combat. So many Star Wars games have had very basic combat but this game makes every fight feel significant without becoming a grind. Amazing game!

Сплошной бэктрэкинг с возрождаюдимися врагами, что ничем не обосновано с точки зрения сюжета, детский сад и унылая боевка

Brilliant game with its story, combat and a must buy no matter if you like star wars or not. Only problems is that it sometimes lags and you should be able to save whenever. Really enjoying my experience though and just an amazing game!

If you get over a slower start without powers, we can assure you, that it will only get better and better. An entertaining mix of Uncharted, Tomb Raider and Dark Souls set in the Star Wars universe. You don’t have to worry; the game is worth its full price. [Issue#300]

As someone with limited time to play games, the shame of Fallen Order stems from multiple frustrations. It’s hard to fight and, worse, it’s hard to move. The game’s timing issues distracted me from both the story and the beautifully constructed worlds; I was too focused on simply staying alive. My many (many, many, many) deaths discouraged me from exploring worlds — all of them beautiful — as did the simple fact that traveling by foot (even a Jedi’s Force-enhanced feet) takes forever.

Respawn has shown us, and EA, that single player games are well enough alive and kicking and has set a bright future for the Star Wars franchise of videogames if they keep this up.
