    First I have to praise the game for being amazing graphics, story and gameplay in the single player story.

    Multiplayer is an improvement from the original game, lots of modes unlockable characters, eras and levels. The gunplay feels just like it should for the movies and the amount of content is superb. However due to a forced loot box system and Pay to win culture promoted in the    First I have to praise the game for being amazing graphics, story and gameplay in the single player story.

    However due to a forced loot box system and Pay to win culture promoted in the game it looses all score from me. This is a disgrace to the Star Wars brand and Disney. EA the game publishers have failed to listen to people at beta stage, early access stage and release. The game because of this is a failure and lets the artwork and gameplay down.    … Expand

    Lootboxes are gambling.

    The developers said in a reddit AMA that getting currency through the single player Arcade version is manipulative but buying currency is ok.

    Paying for power is what loot boxes in this game are.

    That is the definition of pay to win.

    It's a consumer market. The product has "features" consumers don't want. This affects sales which affects market shares. This is exactly how a free market works. Product quality was shared among the market. EA failed not the consumer.

    The multiplayer is there to make EA money while the singleplayer is there to spread the political agenda of the insane feminist groups which have taken over the gaming industry (Ubisoft, EA, Activision) through subversion and threats. So don't buy this even on a sale unless you like the new Star Wars theme of soulless greed.

    I played the test version for a bit and the graphics are great, and the gameplay is fun. However, based on the play to win characteristics, I find it unethical and am therefore giving it a 0.

In the end it becomes worse than the worst F2P game!     Pay to pay is not a platform any developer should be going with. This is indefensible. Please do not support these kind of developers. If we don't show them that we do not agree with these business practices, games like these will become commonplace in due time.

    I would still question playing this game even if they gave it away for free, it is designed to play on your addictive nature and banks on you feeding money into it again and again trying to get better loot through a pay to win progress system.     The game looks great! I wish I could say more about the positive aspect of the game. I know games have been priced at $60 for quite some time now and that’s is why we have seen a major increase in season passes and paid DLC. For this game to succeed the publisher, EA, has lost their collective minds about attaining their metrics. We want a fair game, even if it is in the $80 price range,The game looks great!     Reviewers are utterly in the pockets of AAA developers. This game has pay2win microtransactions in a full $60 retail release. Absolute scam, stop buying EA games.

    Fact this game is about average in gameplay, above average in graphics and sound. But Loot boxes tied directly to progression and a incomplete campaign storyline. As of this writing EA has temporarily removed loot boxes, but said they will return. All these facts make this a no buy game!!!!!!!!!!

Linar and scripted to death, with all the usual flaws, stupid and useless allies, enemies focusing on player ignoring everyone else, when they don’t you can see your allies tanking infinite walker blaster shot. Boring arcade mode. So not for solo. Multiplayer now: classic pewpew party, no strategy or close to none. Grenade spam in choque point, linear maps. Very codExtremely basic solo. Very cod style, can be fun but stops after 2-3 gamess, which sad because you need 10 to buy a loot box. Progression system now: there was a time when you could enjoin the entire game after a reasonable play time. Now you need thousands of farm hours or dollars to get the full potential of each class. Their excuses about the lootbox incitating to play other class is bs, cause in the long term, the time needed to unlock everything rank 4 for each class is so damn high that you have to focus on only one. In the end trading the 40$ season pass/extension (like in the old battlefield days) for a mindless grind or insane amount of money was a **** deal for the player, despite EA trying to persuade us from the opposite. To finish on a good note, the environment and atmosphere are very well done and a joy to look at when you have te time to between 2 respawn. 7 for the atmosphere; -2 for **** single player; +0 for average cod style multi; -9000 for the 4000 hours to unlock everything; -1000000 for the random lootbox leveling. 0 in the end. Without this progression issue that could be an average game to pick on sale and have fun a few hours with. [edit] Removing the possibility to pay for lootbox hoping that people will change their mind and buy the game, then adding it back later will not change the core problem.     I will not comment on the loot crate and pay to win issue as others have done that in great detail already. Suffice to say, I entirely agree with them.

    What I will comment on is the campaign which is actually what has me fired up. It is an example of completely deceitful marketing. Trailers and interviews made it seem like the campaign would depict an Imperial loyalist character. Trailers and interviews made it seem like the campaign would depict an Imperial loyalist character. Star Wars has not had such a portrayal in a game since the 1990's with TIE Fighter's Maarek Stele character. Instead what do we get? We get someone who defects less than halfway through the campaign and we spend the majority of the time doing a tired repeat of the old "Imperial repents and turns Rebel". That story has been done to death in other forms in the Star Wars franchise!

    We could have had a chance to see an Imperial struggling in the wake of the Rebellion's victory and the disintegration of the Empire, and maybe we could have gained some insight into how the First Order formed. We could have had a character winning battles even though the larger war is still lost.
    We didn't need a total Imperial fanatic, acting like the stereotyped 2-dimensional villain. TIE Fighter's Maarek Stele was an Imperial loyalist but was not blind to the faults of the Empire. He just ultimately thought that for all its faults it was still better than the alternative. In more recent stuff, we have the character Rae Sloane (which is actually referenced in the campaign), but Sloane actually stays loyal even though she disagreed with the Emperor's scorched earth plan (i.e. Operation Cinder), which is pretty clearly based off Hitler's "Nero Decree". We could have had a nuanced Imperial character. Instead we get the same juvenile depictions as if no sane non-fanatical person could possibly support the Empire, and the only "good Imperial" is a defector.

    Ultimately though I am angry because we were LIED to and given a bait and switch. We were told it would be an Imperial campaign to show the Imperai POV and to have some "Imperial heroes". Instead we got a Rebel campaign, which couldn't even keep its Imperial disguise on for very long.    … Expand

    Unlockable content that requires real money or thousands of hours of farming would be acceptable in a Free to play game, not a full price game. If we want to protect the game industry as we love it, let's not support this kind of scam.

    Decent multiplayer game but just an unacceptable use of Pay 2 Win mechanics. It's very disappointing that Dice put so much hard work into this game only to have EA ruin it with obvious gambling.

    F2P mobile game with a $60 price tag... It can't get any worse than this. Thank you EA for being the worst company of America and probably the world. Honestly just don't buy these pay-to-win games.

    EA is evil. Money is the only think they care for. Absolutley no respect to the players. You have to buy the game for 60$ and you will find out that the game has free to play style of multiplayer. If you want some card to upgrade you character you must buy a lootbox for real money in other case you have to play over 400 hrs to unlock all iteams.

    This game is the final straw for me. There are so few game companies left that are willing to release a full game anymore. EA is not one of them obviously.

    We need to stop buying these games with loot boxes and season passes on day 1. It needs to stop here.

    Should you buy this game? No, you should not.

    Yes, it looks fantastic, and I am sure that some gameplay elements rock. However, for the future of gaming it is important to make a point: We will not accept what EA is doing. Every 60$ more on EA profit will make them continue this trend. Please, stop it.

    You can't support a game aimed at children whose primary components are gambling and gunplay. The fact that they've turned off the system until the PR heat cools off is not reassurance enough to ever buy this game.

    Garbage game from a garbage publisher.

    This game is the epitome of years of corporate greed, customer exploitation and worst of all, taking advantage of people's love for things.

    Pay2Win is an absolute deal killer for me no matter how small the microtransaction.

    Star Wars Battlefront II provides a greater ambition than the previous installment. It has powerful war scenes, a brand new single player mode, and shows a much more magnificent Star Wars Universe. But just like the Jedi should be ware of the dark side of the Force, this game also meets some similar situations, such as beleaguered microtransaction elements and character growth problems. The first 10 hours of this game is full of surprises; however, the further you play this game, the more disappointed you will get.
