I don’t like the concept of gamble boxes, especially for single player games, the gaming industry needs to stop that or they will ruin gaming.

But that being said I think in this game the *perception* by people is worse that reality (not to say there isn’t some bases to their complaints), but the developers have made adjustments to deal with some concerns of the community. Initially

Initially it may seem you are not making much progress, but you do get a steady amount of crafting points that you can use to unlock abilities (star cards), there are side challenges that will give you rewards and as you open more and more box, they get cheaper since you will get duplicates (that are converted into credits).

Tip: I would recommend just opening up the hero creates box at first since you can open two for about the same cost of the trooper create. This will give you more crafting parts and a good chance to get a trooper card anyways.

Graphics/Map 10, Absolutely amazing, the attention to detail to all the vehicles, ships, troops. Some maps are huge and look like they were recreated from actual sets from the movie.
Sound/Music 10, Great sound effects, when the Heroes spawn you hear their theme sound, they will say lines from the movies, to small things like: droid army funny little sayings, to Boba Fett ship’s bomb sound from the prequel movie.
Performance 9.5, Playing the standard PS4 the game very very infrequently freezes for a split second, but considering every thing that are happening in the battles with 40 players this game runs extremely smoothly.
Fun 9, The class system works really well allowing you to play specific roles and builds, you gain battle points that you can use to spawn in as one of large number of reinforcements / heroes. Space combat being skill based is challenging at first but satisfyingly. You do die very easy which can be a little frustrating, specially stating out. For an average skill player it can be difficult to get to play the hero, due to the fact the better players can build up battle points faster and get the hero first.
Value 10, After playing for over 48 hrs I still haven’t tried every game type, vehicles/ships and hero. About half the heroes are unlock initially (requiring unlocking the rest with ingame credits). This game is a great value, considering that also there is a single player campaign, offline arcade mode and all future content is free.

    EDIT:
Campaign 7, I finished playing the campaign mode. I enjoyed the visuals and most of the missions, but some missions seem short and lackluster. The story jumps through different periods of time and felt to me disjointed but not overly bad. Likable characters, get to play as some of the iconic heroes. The development of the main character story seems linear. BIG issue with the the campaign is that it is short (for me it was ~6hrs). Also too easy on the recommended difficulty (recommend playing on the TOP difficulty level).

    Pros:
    Amazing graphics.
May be only 5 game modes, but strike, star fighter assault, and galactic assault are very different on each map. Campaign is interesting and cannon. (it's confirmed that it truly happened unlike other games) Progression is slow but not ridiculous, and the effectiveness of crates is a lot lower. DICE is continuing to listen to the community and will change

Offline arcade is great, but so far the larger game modes have not been released. (At leapt from what I have seen)
All of the gameplay changes you have already seen.

    Cons:
Lootboxes are in progression, not just cosmetics.
Cosmetics SUCK. THEY ARE 100% TRASH.
Campaign is short from what I have heard.
Balancing teams is either nonexistent, or a joke. I haven't been in 1 close game yet.
Kylo Ren has too many stun abilities, it ruins heros vs villains.
    Minor annoying parts of maps.
Specialist class starts off pretty weak but becomes balanced later.

Worth the $60 price and the game will only get bigger.

It's too bad that people aren't talking about the mechanics of the game, and just the optional in-game purchases, because the flight controls are actually really well done. It's satisfying to get kills in the vehicles, and they all take skill to operate. The third person aspect is pretty cool too, and a lot of the locations look like they were taken right from the movies.

This game has great and in many ways unique multiplayer and unlike the first instalment, it contains a fun singleplayer that does a great job to tie the old trilogy with the new one! Yes, you can buy content, but its NOT pay to win. Boxes are easy to get, and you CANT buy the in-game credits needed to buy heroes with microtransaction. However 3 hours ingame will get you the credits needed for unlocking them due to the ingame reward system for completing challanges. Yes- putting money into the game will allow you to access some items faster, but it doesn't unlock things the way people make it sound. And you cant unlock new primary weapons with cash either.

All in all i think its a great game, and the idea of free DLC is awesome. Having the community split up with paywalls was a big mistake in battlefront and battlefield 1...!

Oh and you're also at a disadvantage for the people who got the Deluxe edition and had a 3 day head start on you. Did anyone complain about these advantages? No. Hell have a real life and not 6 hours a day to devout to a game, you're at an extreme disadvantage in this game (this is the same for all CoD type games).
"EA is being predatory with their microtransactions", thats odd, because Battlefront II isn't the game where your loot box opens in front of everyone else in the social hub to invite envy. If you aren't earning at least 2 boxes a night (not including the free daily), you should probably stop playing games. I suck at the game (like killed myself 4 times during a star fighter assault game suck) and i get that many.
All the twitch online shooter games always give the advantage to the hardcore players who have hours upon hours of the day to play. Microtransactions might help to even that out. I say "might" because its not guaranteed. Hell you have to get to level 20 I think to craft the best cards. So most who are complaining are doing so because they were told to.
On to the game. Awesome graphics. Its a twitch shooter. Its not a military sim or flight sim. If you're complaining about simplistic control what the heck did you think you were buying? CoD doesn't have you cleaning out your gun or banking bullets off of a wall. There is nothing complex about a twitch shooter. That would be against the entire point.

Regarding the current outrage, it's totally unfounded. The micro-transactions are limited to the loot boxes that contain at most horizontal progression. If there's any star cards you want you can craft them through gameplay. None of the heroes or highest level star cards can be paid for with real money, and even the second tier of star card upgrades are hidden behind level 10. The stories of someone showing up and dropping $100 for a clear gameplay advantage is just absolutely false and not possible.

    Campaign:
-Short, but from what I've heard they're releasing a new story every month so that should change
-Really captures the feeling of Star Wars: with great characters, heart, and humour.
-Unique and varied missions and objectives, it never gets stale.
-At times it can feel rushed, missions sort of cascade into each other with no downtime in between but this isn't a huge deal.

Multiplayer (I've basically only been playing starfighters):
-Didn't at all feel like I was outmatched at any time, individuals have a chance to turn the tide of battle and make a difference
-Class system being included is pretty awesome
-Hero ships are attainable, I get one every other battle on average

    In General:
-Tons of fun, first Star Wars game in a while to capture the feeling of the franchise
-Credit cap on Arcade mode is a little ridiculous
-Contrary to public soapboxing, credits are abundant and easy to earn (mostly through the achievements) but I wish the balance was skewed a little more towards earning credits from matches
-I wish there were starfighter missions in Arcade mode, or at least available as an option in custom Arcade matches

First off although the campaign is a bit short taking only 5 hours to complete it is an incredible story that follows Iden Versio between the battle of Endor and the rise of the first order. Each mission is unique and fun to play.

Multiplayer is a great experience as you will be able to take part in massive ground and space battles across loads of iconic locations in the Star Wars universe.

A couple of issues i have with the game is that most of the maps and heroes come from the original trilogy. e.g there are 8 ot heroes and 2 heroes each for the Prequels and the sequels. considering that the last game was just the original trilogy i would have liked to have seen a lot more new content. The other issue i have is that considering that the only way to get star cards is through loot crates you are going to need the buy a lot of them to unlock every thing. The problem here is that trooper crates cost 4000 credits and on average you will make about 300 credits in a 11 minute long match. So at the moment you are going to need to put in thousands of hours to unlock all the star cards which is stupid. i hope that in the coming months DICE will fix this issue by increasing the amount of credits you earn per match. Overall Star Wars battlefront 2 is an amazing game with a few minor problems at launch but will hopefully be fixed in the future.

Loot boxes are not a huge issue for me because you earn enough in game credits to grab a couple of boxes a day at least and the currency between the worst version of a card and the best is VERY small. So ignore the corporate greed and enjoy.

Now as for the gameplay experience itself, well, it's fantastic. Great graphics, detailed environments, atmospheric sound and adaptable classes make for intense and addictive gameplay every game.

I'm not a fan of micro-transactions, but I'm happy to see a good quality game without a "Season Pass" these days.

The game is cool. The graphics, the sound just fly away. Hate the game and rate it low-end estimates for in-game microtransactions are just stupid. Especially after playing 17 hours and pumped Iodine, I have not noticed problems with the necessary donation. All you can open for yourself just by playing and getting credits. I don't consider this game P2W so as to swing the required LVL, which is achieved by the game itself. The problem was that with the high cost of characters have already been fixed. I hope that there are intelligent people in this world. And to succumb to the herd instinct did not really play the game too silly. Expand

Excellent online action offers hours of Stormtooper-shooting fun, but the so-so campaign stumbles, while cynical loot crates leave a sour taste. [Jan 2017, p.83]

Star Wars Battlefront II provides a greater ambition than the previous installment. It has powerful war scenes, a brand new single player mode, and shows a much more magnificent Star Wars Universe. But just like the Jedi should be ware of the dark side of the Force, this game also meets some similar situations, such as beleaguered microtransaction elements and character growth problems. The first 10 hours of this game is full of surprises; however, the further you play this game, the more disappointed you will get.

Although game has huge problems with p2w microtransactions, it is still a good and fun gameplay experience with stunning visuals.
