    Visuals = 10
Shoe-horned campaign mode, terrible arcade mode = 4
Loot crates (gambling, the ESRB needs a serious review of their stance) = 0

Developers made a visually stunning, ok-to-play game. EA have destroyed it.

Hopefully tide is turning on loot crate BS

The campaign is ok but the multiplayer is as good as any other free to play, pay to win game, but only this one cost at least $60, i can recomend the campaign for 20 but the multiplayer should had been free if they were going to go with these mobile game practices, so do not buy this game nor any other ea game until they back off

Tiered pricing and Freemium content unlock progression makes this game unbuyable. The campaign is bad and the multiplayer is ruined due to the pricing. EA failed.

Obscene approach to paid extra content.

Unbelievable. I knew this game would have a negative response over the lootboxes, but I never thought thousands of people would give this game a 0 or 1 out of 10. I will play it, just to see what it’s like, despite the lootboxes
However, I still hate EA. Closing down Visceral and mucking up with games like this one and FIFA.

Im a massive star wars fan and will be suckered into watching all the new movies and playing all the games. Simply because im a fanboy. That being said EA has ripped off the community and taken advantage of the fans love for star wars by forcing micro transactions down their throat. Oh want to play darth vader? better pay 100$ or grind to the end of times.

EA is officially the worst company.

One dev quoted on the Reddit AMA that a user gets 20% of their battlepoints as credits at the end of the game. I got over 7000 points to get 400 credits, nowhere near 20% and certainly nowhere near enough to even consider getting a star card to help me compete.

This is extremely unfortunate. I was really looking forward to this game - however the microtransactions and the hardheadedness of the developers and publishers have officially ruined what could have been an amazing game. The Reddit AMA today was absolute garbage and failed to respond or acknowledge any obvious wrong doing by EA or DICE. Truly unfortunate. GG EA, GG DICE.

A great game, polished, completely let down by greed.

It’s a full price game but they have a f2p model embedded.

You can’t progress your skills / weapons / characters without gambling.

To get coins to gamble you just have to play... there is no reward for performing well.

Atrocious. Wait and buy it second hand in order to get your Star Wars fix and not rewarding EA for their greed.

Blatant pay to win witha $60+ price tag. You have to grind for many hours just to use Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader, and all of this is with random loot boxes. If you read this, I plead that you don't support this game in any way, shape, or form.

First of all NO, the crate are not needed. Second of all, if they were going to use lootcrates they should have made them cosmetics only, NO ONE likes a pay to progress faster model in their full prices game. Lootboxes are okay only on a pay-to-win free-to-play game. But it is an AAA title, and it cost 60/80 bucks. That's not okay. EA is killing this franchise.

If this is the gaming world EA wants to continue down. I don't want any part of it.

Game is littered with ridiculously long if not impossible progression systems, but hey you can bypass that for the low time fee of $2100 to unlock all content.

Send a message. Don't buy the game. give it a bad rating.

Micro-transactions and the "Pay to Win" model has no place in a "Premium" $60 game. EA has always been a questionable company that has been voted as the worse US based company twice. It should come as no surprise that this slimy corporation continues to push boundaries. Be smart, vote with your wallet and avoid this crap.

The "exploiting your customers" bubble has burst.

Maybe it's time to put the content back into the game?

Also maybe stop closing down studios.

Pro: Looks and sounds just like a Star Wars movie!
Huge Con: Plays like a huge grind that would take you more than you work in a year to unlock everything. They clearly spent more time on the progression grind and figuring out how to suck more money out of their customers than they did on the actual game.
Our only chance, as gamers, to avoid predatory policies like these is to vote

The only voice the consumer has in this scenario is reviews, and it is time our voices are heard. We want single-player campaigns. We want to play games, not "license entertainment experiences".

Spoiler: Loot crates aren't gambling because you don't win anything; any contents are subject to deletion or change at the whim of EA.

Star Wars Battlefront II provides a greater ambition than the previous installment. It has powerful war scenes, a brand new single player mode, and shows a much more magnificent Star Wars Universe. But just like the Jedi should be ware of the dark side of the Force, this game also meets some similar situations, such as beleaguered microtransaction elements and character growth problems. The first 10 hours of this game is full of surprises; however, the further you play this game, the more disappointed you will get.
