Star Wars: PAYMENTFRONT II was an instant refund for me. EA's practice has been downright shocking - I will never buy another EA game, and I will not buy any game that has microtransactions in. These practices are not okay. If I spend £40 on a brand new game, I expect it to be completed, and not trying to extort more of my hard earned cash out of me.

    I'd rather pay for Winrar.

The game has the worst progression system i have ever seen in any videogame. Just imagine if in, say, World of Warcraft, you couldn't just pick the talents or skills you wanted and had to buy them in in-game shop. Instead, your character's level would be defined by how much randomly obtained skills you've bought for the class you're playing as.

This is the dumbest progression system you'll ever see in a full priced videogame. Avoid this game like plague.

If you buy this garbage you're complicit in pushing the gaming industry toward a pay to win future. We didn't take a stand with DLC, we didn't take a stand when loot boxes started appearing in anything, at least take a stand against pay to win.

such a beautiful game which was so poorly executed. There is no place for PTW games nowadays. If you need to play over 4500 hours, or pay over $2000 to unlock everything, there is a problem.

But hey, remember you can pay to advance faster! While this system works great for free to play games, it's absurd that, after paying 60€ for a game, you have to pay more if you want to try all of its content. I'd rather have paid DLCs and a season pass, I swear.
Then the single player is fun, but only 5 hours long. For any fellow Empire lovers, don't buy it to play as the Empire, because you barely get to kill rebel scum. Also it doesn't have galactic conquest or anything so the single player is really limited.

Already costing a third MORE than a full retail priced AAA game, they've built it like a free-to-play mobile game in which everything takes years to unlock unless you pay real money. On top of that, loot crates contain random rewards, so on top of being screwed over by the pay-to-win system, you're being screwed over with RNG as well. EA is pushing everything they can to make players spend money out of frustration, and they'll keep doing it as long as they keep getting money from it. Forget about the fact that Luke, Vader, and the new for this game hero are locked behind ridiculous credit walls (the "change" EA made to the credit requirements for Luke and Vader was only cosmetic in nature because credit rewards were decreased almost equally) It is more important to focus on the fact that players can pay money to have buffs in a multi-player setting on day 1. The argument that you could eventually play enough to get the same level of buff is missing the point entirely. We all wanted Battlefront 3. We all loved conquest mode, we loved the 200v200 battles or more vs the CPU and with friends. WE LOVED THE "WE ARE TAKING THE COMMAND POST". But no, who really believes they did any research if they took all we loved out? Just to put it in the third game they will produce when the next starwars film comes out. Then they will say again they "heard" what we were asking for. **** Listen now and give us a modernized version of the 2005 game. Not a pay to win game for over 60€ with MACROtransactions that go to 100€ for RNG boxes. Lootboxes should never have gameplay things but like overwatch, only visuals and customization.
I'm too angry and losing myself here. Just summarize with EA being a company that just wants your money and hides their hand grabbing your wallet with those good graphics and huge advertisement campaigns to attract all those less informed or more innocent. Stop this EA. Hope this game fails. Doing the same with FIFA. Every year the same game just changing the players from teams. What you could do with a simple update. The gameplay changes, also with a simple update or 20€ DLC.
I decided not to touch an EA game ever again and try to spread the word of how they are destroying the industry. Thank you for reading my rant.

Star Wars Battlefront II provides a greater ambition than the previous installment. It has powerful war scenes, a brand new single player mode, and shows a much more magnificent Star Wars Universe. But just like the Jedi should be ware of the dark side of the Force, this game also meets some similar situations, such as beleaguered microtransaction elements and character growth problems. The first 10 hours of this game is full of surprises; however, the further you play this game, the more disappointed you will get.
