We read up on this so called game and we played it and watched videos of play and he is correct. The games progression is behind a paywall and forces younger players or parents with little time to pay extra charges to progress or loose eeverytime despite skil. These issues have been well documented ion the news and the company behind them is known for shady tactics and seemingly doesn't care. Our nephew was also email targeted through his kids account to buy the game and to buy loot boxes star cards in a very clever subtle way to avoid parents . We felt sick. EA is like a child molester of brains. Expand

The worst case of monetization for a Full Price AAA game so far. EA's pay to win forced-down-your-throat game design ruined the creatives' approach. Not even the best PR in the world could change that. Let's vote with our wallets!

    EA strikes again.

If a game has microtransactions, JUST MAKE THE GAME FREE. More people will have it, everyone calms down, and people can spend whatever $ they want on in-game fees.

EA is no amateur when it comes to fleecing the customer for all they're worth, but in this case, they have crossed the line. The game is once again multiplayer focused with a short and lackluster single player just so they can say they improved from the first game. They have "brilliantly" set up their game so that people who stick with the $60 purchase cannot possibly win against the other team due to their lack of good weapons purchased by others. They say you can earn them in game, but it's like telling someone they can eat their dinner on a plate if they work for 8 hours first. Not so bad until you realize you can only work three hours a day, and any more time spent is worthless, and with the added perk that if you do put in the work, due to the fact that items inside lootboxes are obtained by chance, you might not even get a plate and so your three days of effort was wasted. EA has implemented the worst form of gambling in their game so deeply, that their game is centered around this feature, and they are using star wars in order to attract the customer. Do not be fooled, the Star Wars brand is not worth this atrocity. Expand

EA get your crap together. Even without all the Micro-transaction gambling and loot boxes this would be a mediocre game at best, the fact that it has Star Wars slapped on the front gains most of your positive feedback, if this was anything but Star Wars you'd get a 4 out of 10 at best.

Lootboxes are good only if you're the type of player that can stick with 1 game for a prolonged period of time. And by prolonged I mean full dedication, barring yourself from other games if you want to stay within the competition and fun factor of pay to win games.

I came on to SWB1 when it was 4 euros on the PlayStation store and I got destroyed all the time in the 50+ player matches.

I came on to SWB1 when it was 4 euros on the PlayStation store and I got destroyed all the time in the 50+ player matches. It wasn't fun realizing I showed up too late in the game. I'm a player that enjoys a vast library of games and plays different ones at a time. I'm looking forward to God of War 4, Hunter Showdown (free to play), and The Last of Us 2.

If I were to get SWBII there would be no way I would be able to keep up with the hardcore SWBII players. Loot boxes are for a specific type of player... And now that there's multiple games with pay to win walls, I'm going to be more hesitant with my purchases. I can't imagine having multiple games with loot boxes and actually completing them all to a 100%. There's no way I can purchase more than 1 pay to continue/pay 2 win game per year.

There's just too many awesome games coming out from Sony that aren't pay to win. If you're on the fence and looking forward to other games coming soon, don't buy Star Wars Battlefront 2.

In my honest opinion, the only good type of loot box is for skins and aesthetics. That's when the game is solid enough and the gameplay good enough.

EA wants to do it again with this game. Putting micro transactions But the biggest aberration is when you have to spend 40 hours playing to unlock a single character. This is designed so that the player is frustrated and has to pay with real money to achieve the achievements and objects of the same game. In addition, it shows that EA seeks to generate a new market around micro payments, and not in the sale of video games.

On Reddit users complained. EA answered doing good to defend his position. Then, he received the figure of half a million negative votes. That's why they said they were going to reduce the cost to unlock everything in the game. This shows that you can change the industry instead of accepting the course you take just because.

However, EA maintains the duration of 4528 hours to unlock the content of the game. This time was calculated by other fans and also calculated that playing 5 hours a day would end the game in 17 years.

This game is an educational tool in gambling and the mentality of the passive abused persona.
EVERY parent should avoid getting this game for their kids/teenagers.
Though the game might have most of the Star Wars hard candy goodies, the game can only be as much fun as you able to stomach the gross imbalance, bugs, and the in-your-face abuse of consumers via PAY TO WIN lootcrates etc.

As an adult, you might enjoy it for a little while, as a parent you will be making a terrible mistake giving this to your kids.

    - The amount of characters you can play with. No better feeling than going wild with Vader or jumping around the map with Yoda.

    Negatives:
    - The progression system is awful. Simply awful. I have never known something to be so bad. Everything relies on Star Cards, which stem from loot crates and microtransactions (which at this point have been disabled).
    - Loot boxes.
    - Microtransactions (disabled at the moment, but will make a comeback eventually. And they were in to begin with so they deserve to be on here).
    - Only 5 game modes as appose to the previous title. A lot of the better modes are gone. I miss the old title where you would start in space, then fight on the Death Star in an all-out battle. Or Heroes vs Villains where you could really go crazy on the troopers.
    - Arcade is boring.
    - Loot boxes (did I mention those?)
    - EA and DICE have the nerve to charge people full price for half of a game.
    - The story was good, but far too short.
    - Loot boxes.

This game was a waste of money. I'm a huge fan of Star Wars and the older Battlefront games but this is just awful. Loot crates spoil the experience as per usual, the progression system is terrible and the game modes get boring after a few hours. I have hope some of the DLC will make the experience slightly better but this is just bad. I had hope for this, and again, EA have let me down. As have DICE. I just wish producers would understand that nobody likes loot crates that have an affect on how the game plays. Avoid this. At least until all the expansions are out and it's in the $10 sale bin.

Star Wars Battlefront II provides a greater ambition than the previous installment. It has powerful war scenes, a brand new single player mode, and shows a much more magnificent Star Wars Universe. But just like the Jedi should be ware of the dark side of the Force, this game also meets some similar situations, such as beleaguered microtransaction elements and character growth problems. The first 10 hours of this game is full of surprises; however, the further you play this game, the more disappointed you will get.
