Excellent. While yes, it's pretty much more of the same and does very little to innovate the series (the game basically plays exactly the same as Crimes and Punishments) but if it ain't broke, don't fix it. The cases are thrilling with twists and that fit perfectly with previous Holmes stories. The overarching story is an intriguing mystery with a painfully obvious twist (anyone even vaguely familiar with Doyle's stories or the various adaptations will see it coming from miles away) but it's well written enough to be engaging and at times, emotional and touching. This is Frogwares best version of Holmes yet with the player being able to define his personality (making Holmes either incapable of empathy or someone who has sympathy for those who turn to crime) and of course the moral choices at the end of each case (who is the culprit? And do you absolve them or condemn them?). Several gripes come from an overuse of puzzles (especially in an Mayan temple segment) and an almost criminal under use of Holmes' faithful ally Dr Watson who doesn't get very much to do here. Despite this, the game is pretty fun, challenging and a must play for many Holmes fanatics. Expand

Cool game. Not the best, but unlike Crimes and Punishments every case was original! I loved it and I really liked that they tried to put some action scenes in it! I've played every SH game from Forgwares and this is surely one of the best (vs Arsene Lupin and the silver earring are my top.)

Very good game... Nice graphics and story is not bad. Cases are fun to play even when occasionally become boring. Overall worth to play if you like murder solving/adventure games.

It really makes no sense to me why none of these Sherlock Holmes games ever sell well I think they're phenomenal and it requires you to do a little thinking definitely worth buying in my opinion I would start with crimes and Punishment first before this one the only reason why I gave it a 10 is because of other people that give it such a poor review so I try to balance it out

Great game! Although I didn’t enjoy the gameplay at some sections (pushing heavy objects strangely or climbing the ladder), graphics, voicing, the story, interaction with objects and “the mind palace” were amazing.
I haven’t played crimes and punishment, though I would highly suggest playing this game, especialy if you’re a Sherlock fan.

This part of Sherlock Holmes adventures is step forward comparing with previous Crimes and Punishments part. There are much more action in the game(QTE but still action :)). There is even a stealth mechanic exists in the game.

Big benefit of this part are streets of London. They are very good made but not very much used.

What is not good is that load screens are too long even on PS4 Pro.

In any case after this game I'm looking forward for Sherlock Holmes Chapter One game.

It starts off feeling a bit overwhelming and clunky, but after the first case I came to really enjoy this game. I paid $3 for it, but I’d pay anywhere up to $20. You can really tell the development team took pride in this and did what they could with the budget they had. Pretty damn good game, I had fun playing it.

Other than feeling a bit short, and that there are some fps issues, everything has been fine so far.

Character design and the story is good. However, the frame rate is terrible. Deduction system and puzzle is also not enjoyable. The developers should have treated Sherlock Homes IP with better idea and game optimization effort.

Some parts of the game were difficult to understand what to do as there were no easy to see indications. Some things needed to be explained on how to use as well, because they were kind of confusing the first few times and there is no indication of what to look out for when playing at first.

Those are the only reasons why I didn't give the game a 10 rating. Everything else was great! I

Those are the only reasons why I didn't give the game a 10 rating. Everything else was great! I loved the story, the fact that you can use your own detective skills and work out the mystery, and how you can get the wrong person if you don't look at everything carefully.

The investigations themselves are great examples of story-telling.

The Devil's Daughter is a collection of minigames sewn together with a very questionable story, but that manages to keep the player amused for the duration of the game. Particularly given the atmosphere crafted in every detail of London and the deduction mechanics, the game will often make you feel like Sherlock.

The story is such fun, and its world rendered with such affection for the source material (and for Victoriana, in general), that you can’t help but be swept up in the mystery. [September 2016, p74]
