Clumsy chases through swamps, looonng boring bowling competitions. What happened? Crimes and Punishment was so good, DD just isn't is any aspect. The tone is all over the place, character models are hideous (since when is Sherlock John Hamm?) And the mysteries are so on the nose this could be Blues Clues. As a huge Sherlock fan I can't even bring myself to finish this game. Even afterClumsy chases through swamps, looonng boring bowling competitions. What happened? Even after multiple efforts, each attempt just end in a mix of confusion and frustration.
I'm still unsure who this title was made for, it definitely wasn't for the fans. On another note, one positive is that some of the textures look nice, for whatever that's worth. One last note is the fact I've been following these Sherlock games ever since The Testament of Sherlock Holmes and this is the absolute worst Sherlock game I've ever played. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone

I generally have enjoyed the Sherlock Holmes series of games, and investigation based games as a genre. The Mayan translation riddle is a terrible puzzle. You can get close to the answer logically but then are forced into hundreds of trial and error combinations to guess, having nothing to base it on. I did this for about 20 mins before rage googling the answer. Terrible!!!

Just bad. How can a game look good and terrible at the same time?? The enviroment is fine, yet the caracther models look like something from an early PS3 game. Cases are way weaker than it's predecessor, and the minigames feel like a painfull, dreadful chore.
Loved Crime and Punishments, hated Devil's Daughter.

The environment is very well done, the story carries interesting aspects but horrible modeling and gameplay too.

I tried all Sherlock Holmes games and this is the first one that did not freeze or had bugs that would prevent you from progressing. However, this game offers a few nice puzzles but apart from that it offers a pretty average experience, sometimes even lower than average. Acting is rather poor as well as writing and the plot. Visually, it will be called "outdated" for many players. If youI tried all Sherlock Holmes games and this is the first one that did not freeze or had bugs that would prevent you from progressing. It's an easy platinum trophy. The story is a bit boring and the puzzles a bit simple.

The investigations themselves are great examples of story-telling.

The Devil's Daughter is a collection of minigames sewn together with a very questionable story, but that manages to keep the player amused for the duration of the game. Particularly given the atmosphere crafted in every detail of London and the deduction mechanics, the game will often make you feel like Sherlock.

The story is such fun, and its world rendered with such affection for the source material (and for Victoriana, in general), that you can’t help but be swept up in the mystery. [September 2016, p74]
