Hermoso.

    Characters (0 to 20): 10
(This includes voice acting / animations and how they complement the story)
Even if your story is great, if the characters are un-interesting or just stupid in the context of the game, it will ruin the game. A good story-teller is at least as important as a good story.

    Gameplay (0 to 20): 20
(This includes combat/ movement and the way you interact in the world)
if you just want a good story with good characters alone, go watch a movie! Gameplay is one if not the most important part of a successful game.

    These are more personal.

    Soundtrack (0 to 15): 15
A great soundtrack is in my opinion a must for a 10/10.

    Replay/Endgame (0 to 5): 5
I like to play more even after the story has finished like side quests. I would also include side activities in games to this like; the last of us multiplayer or Doom’s map editor.

    Polish (0 to 5): 5
(Is it buggy or not? Do parts of the game feel rushed? But remember, bugs can be fixed)
Well do I have to explain? No one likes a buggy/leggy game. It breaks immersion and f%cks your play trough. I still have nightmares from the assassin’s creed “no face” bug…

    Extra:
They should have added a 17th colossus XD.

A heavy, morbid tone of loneliness and isolation. Flooded with mystery, Shadow of the Colossus creates a world that gives the player a palpable sense of reality. The world is an aspect, commonly glossed over, of which the game deserves more credit for; while scarce and quiet, it begins to seem vast and majestic, allowing the player to lose all sense of location and engage with a vivid fantasy.

Scattered through the lengthy paths of the setting are towering bosses, which prompt critical thinking in order to be overcome. While each is different, they all share a common feature of weak points, and repetition becomes evident. If any boss were used as a final challenge for another fantasy adventure, contrasting to common boss designs, it would be magnificently used for dramatic contrast, but when being constantly lined up, these monumental quests appear more as menial monotony.

For every moment a player can experience, Shadow of the Colossus offers a soundtrack that matches it perfectly; from calm isolation, to dreading fear, to a sense of magnificent accomplishment, the musical score matches it without flaw. Every piece is fantastic, and helps not only craft an untouchable atmosphere, but tell a story that images never could. This phenomenal composition is remarkable, and I struggle to find something that surpasses it.

Shadow of the Colossus takes a lot of praise for being unique. It blew away the people who had few expectations, and that newly kindled flame of shock never dwindled amongst them. However, remove the rose tinted glasses, take a look deeper, and you'll see a game quite overrated by its audience of 2005's enthusiastic youths. I enjoy Shadow of the Colossus, for its many merits, but it will never be the flawless masterpiece many regard it as.

As a remaster/remake, this is an absolute beast of a game, the level of detail they put into every aspect of it is breathtaking.
But... there isn't anything new that wasn't in the PS3 HD or PS2 versions - apart from graphics - so if you didn't dig the game the first time then don't expect to like it now.
It's still a polarising game, and it's not for all tastes.

They made a great job porting it to the PS4, the graphics are gorgeous, and the filters and photo mode add to the fun for those who have already played the game on the PS2, I still have some problems with the camera, It moves by itself many times, and it's almost impossible to control it, I know you can focus on the colossus by pressing a button, but still, I would have loved to have full control of the camera as we do in most games.

Some people don't like to walk around the vast world of Shadow Of The Colossus because it's "lifeless", and it really is, but that's part of the game's experience, they don't play a soundtrack when you're exploring the world, which creates a silence that gives the player a feeling of solitude, I mean, you're going on an impossible quest, in a cursed land where life pretty much doesn't exist, with only your horse as your ally. Shadow Of The Colossus was set up in a way that this lifeless atmosphere works on its favor.

You should definitely pick it up if you haven't played it yet, as you should know, it's a classic and everyone who's a gamer should experience it at some point, granted some people won't like it, while others will, but I mean, you'll only know it if you play it, so go for it!

The world is really empty, yet beautiful but with nothing to do you get bored quite fast and after about 6-8 hours, depending on how well you learn to control this horse with tank controls, you'll reach the climax of the game with a rather sad conclusion but also hope, it's a bittersweet ending but it's not enough to elevate the game above its flaws. The updated control scheme is probably the only thing that kind of irked me, but I don't honestly see it as a bad thing. They're definitely more modernized (X is jump instead of Triangle, for example). Regardless, I prefer the original control scheme - and they tossed in the option to change either back to the original set-up OR go with a pseudo-updated set-up that's mostly the same except the roll command is mapped to Circle (whereas before it was R1+Circle). Genius.

Most of the reviews are based mainly in nostalgia, one of them even recounting solely their past experiences with the game, reviews such as this have more than likely artificially boosted this game to it's current position on this site. Looking at the game alone; it controls horribly, the player character is really floaty and awkward, even more so for that of the horse, she will get stuck on every little object, which in tandem with her wide turning is horrible for maneuverability, especially in forested areas. The climbing of the colossi in this game is also very iffy, to say the least, climbing these things during the boss fights is a pain, with the last boss being the worst of them all. Not the difficulty of managing the stamina meter, that is simply one of the game's mechanics; just when the try to shake you off, when the colossi shake the player characters grip tends to shift, during the 15th boss i was holding onto the boss' shoulder armor when it started to shake, I got flung to it's back, and then to the floor, during which my stamina meter was more than half way full. My Final criticism for this game is the strenuous animation, particularly when getting up after being knocked down, to site another instance in the game, during the 11th boss, i was rammed and my character was knocked onto the ground where he remained while he was hit twice more and died. This game is beautiful and back in the day i see how it would've been deserving of this high a standing when compared to other games of the time, but this game has been released twice since then, bringing in more money for the same developers for the same game, adding nothing but aesthetics, and garnering the same praise, so, is this game worth buying? I'd say that this game is worth buying to an extent, those who are nostalgic for the original will be the main audience for this game, but if you're someone who happens to have (as of writing this) $30 burning a hole in your wallet, or you just want to experience a style of game not so prevalent today, then the Shadow Of The Colossus is the game for you. The game is faithful to the original and adds a few improvements but it still has problems that are hard to ignore in a modern game. While I respect the fact that they kept the feel of the original. I really wish they had fixed camera issues and somewhat rough controls. The remake also misses the opportunity to make the game as grand as it was originally intended to be by adding more colossi. The original game was limited by development restrictions but a remake doesn't have those same excuses. They really could have made this a must buy if they added some of the Colossi that were cut from the original game. All around it is just as good as the original and visually a solid step up but it has been 13 years since the original and the standards have risen.

The original gameplay of Shadow of the Colossus was revolutionary and surprisingly there is still no other game quite like it. Other games have borrowed elements from it in many areas but in terms of making bosses large moving puzzles it still stands alone. The climbing mechanics and physics are no longer as impressive though and seem a little unpolished compared to more recent games. The camera is still a chore to deal with and really makes some parts very frustrating. I found myself fighting the camera constantly throughout the game. The horse controls are also very frustrating at times. The bow controls were decent but inferior to modern games and probably could have been tightened up. On the plus side there are options for adjusting the control sensitivity and some options for remapping buttons. Overall the controls are a bit better than the original but not much.

While the story is a simple one, the tone, pacing, believe-ability and intrigue that it creates is masterful. It is like a modern myth. There is still no other game story that I can think of quite like this one. I just wish there was more to it. What is there is close to perfect but it is a very short and ambiguous story. Some people will love it but some people will definitely find it frustrating. I personally like the story a lot and still think about it often but I really feel like there should have been more and this being a remake definitely missed the opportunity to build on the Lore in a meaningful way.

In terms of visuals, it looks like a modern game while keeping most of the style that made the original so iconic. It obviously doesn't look as detailed as something like Horizon: Zero Dawn but it holds its own. The original style of the game made it stand out from everything else on the PS2 and the remake did a fairly good job of recapturing that while still looking like a new game.

The soundtrack is one of my favorites of all time and it still is. There really wasn't anything to fix and the remake retains that. Every song perfectly captures the emotions of the moment while never really getting annoying. The quiet sounds of the barren landscape offer just enough ambiance to be immersive. The sound effects are all appropriate and never distracts from the experience. The remake also gives you a lot of control over the sound volumes so it is easy to balance out the sounds to your preference.

Overall I think this was a solid remake of a classic but don't expect more than that. It looks pretty and new but at the end of the day this is a 13 year old game with a new coat of paint. If you want to replay the original with modern visuals, you will likely love it but aside from a few new additions like a long treasure hunt that adds nothing to the story, this is the same game. It is still a great work of art and worth experiencing though. It is a one of a kind that I still love but it won't be for everybody and it has objective flaws.

Shadow of the Colossus is phenomenal; the graphics and environments are stunning, the music is beautiful, and the colossi/boss fights are massive in scale and epic. Siempre critiqué la jugabilidad de la versión original por ser algo tosca, especialmente Agro, pero era mi única queja, y esta versión la solventa con creces. And then we found the first "giant". Or boss. Or colossus. "What the hell? Do we attack its feet?", we asked each other, while nothing seemed to happen. "Try hitting it with arrows", she said. Nothing. "What the hell are we supposed to do... climb it or something?".

And then that was it. We were in love with that game, forever. "No way! No way!!!". We realized: the BOSS WAS THE PUZZLE. And that was it. Finding it, learning about it, outsmarting it, climbing it, finding its weak spots, killing it.

I remember how mesmerized and shocked and amazed we were. Games were NEVER like that. We knew we had something different, so different, in our hands. And that was "Shadow of the Colossus", a timeless, unforgettable tale.

Once it was released in the PS3 I played it again - loved and enjoyed every second of it - even though I pretty much knew everything I had to do. The game was incredible, still was. Modern, bold, fresh, perfect.

And then... came this remake. My eyes could not believe the first trailers, once it was announced at E3. It was hard to believe, it was unreal. They were remaking this game... and what a beauty this is. The PS4 version is probably closer to Fumito Ueda's ideal version of it, since the systems back then were so limited. And I was thrilled to see that it was exactly the same game, just bigger, better, sharper, more beautiful, more haunting. But that loneliness, that solitude, that mysterious sense of visiting an abandoned realm was still there, just as I remembered. And what a joy it was to be back.

This is one of those games that I wanted to get 2 copies. One to open and play exhaustively. Another to frame and hang in the wall. This is a masterpiece.

The visuals are amazing, as they were in the day, they have been given a full remake in order to do it justice in 2018 and it works. I loved the weird more cinematic camera angles that show off the landscape of this beautiful came, and there is an extreme amount of personality in the characters, despite little dialogue and showing of a lot of them. Actions speak leagues more than words.

I don't want to spoil anything about the story, but just know it's good - its very very good, the more you think about it afterwards, the better it gets. Definitely get this game if you haven't played it yet. Also I really want an Ico remaster now.

The only thing stopping me from giving this game a 10/10 is that sometimes I had problems with the camera when in tight spaces. Also the player character stays on the ground for an annoying amount of time when he is knocked down. This resulted in a couple of the colossus getting one hit on me and then just hitting me over and over before I could get out of the way.

Moreover the climbing function can get very jarring on some colossi, namingly Malus, which is disappointing considering it is the last colossus in the game. But the excitement the game fills you with when approaching a colossi for the first time and the puzzles that need solving are actually intriguing and fills you with a sense of accomplishment once you figure them out. Yes... that is, unfortunately, the first thing anyone looking to buy this game needs to know. You will beat it, and you will beat it fast. Fast on Normal. Fast on Difficult. (Don't bother playing it on Easy unless you've never held a controller before. It's really not worth it then, especially at $39.99.)

I am giving this game an "8.2/10" because I got it at half-price, but that's still not it's regular price, and the price of remasters should always be a part of their judgment.

Of course, it really is a BEAUTIFUL remaster with visuals rebuilt from the ground up. I can actually watch Wander on his trusty steed Agro, and say to myself, "THIS is what Never Released Zelda WiiU title would've looked like if Nintendo had gone forward with that Tech Demo from 2011." When I sat down and saw Wander carry Mono into the Forbidden Land, I thought I'd purchased the wrong game, despite my memory knowing this was the same game. That's how beautiful it looked.

But back to the main point. This game is SHORT. Because many things were fixed - especially that frustrating grip mechanic. The game is not nearly as frustrating as it once was (even on PS3), and can therefore be beaten in less than 10 hours. These days, that's a very, very short game. Like "No Man's Sky, what the hell is this?" kinda short.

Also, the many photo filters are wonderful, but I didn't really understand what the point was of hiding some of the bonus content behind beating this or that Colossus with different filters. It really was a strange decision, I feel. However, if you're the kind for it, and if you really want to challenge yourself, apply the Night filter (bring the slider down till it's really dark), put the game on hardest difficulty, and enjoy. No headphones though! You wanna make sure you only see their eyes!

Music is as beautiful as ever, but on a better audio system this time, and I'll never understand why Kow Otani didn't also do the music for Last Guardian (which I personally thought was lacking in emotional substance most of the time due to clunky-ness AND music).

Conclusion: See TL;DR above, and possibly add to that: This was the last Team Ico game that was ever released (rereleased?), since they never finished Last Guardian, someone else did. SO... buy it for the feels?? Who knows!

In Shadow of the Controls, you fight the programmers' poor coding for control of the most pathetic protagonist and the game engine's ungodly physics that takes platforming to an unprecedented un-realism. If you are like me and had no idea what the game was about and was drawn to the cool design and concept of the game, please stop right there and stay far away from this game. Terrible controls and mechanics are the hardest to explain in words, but this game, without a doubt, has the worst control of any game I've ever played.

The game's biggest strength is immersion, which BluePoint has certainly done an absolute brilliant job in capturing the desolate yet beautiful world of SOTC. The music is grand and epic when battling the colossi, and the sense of scale given to the player makes one really experiences the vast unit the enemies truly are compared to what puny power the character possess in order to overcome these extreme behemoth of monsters. All of these makes the game well deserve to be the PlayStation classic is it until you find that the horse AI is programmed by a monkey, your character starts randomly floats in the opposite direction of your analog stick, grabs edges that you never intent to reach, starts falling off the edge every three seconds, takes over ten seconds to get up from a knockdown, or the camera always just snaps to whichever is the most inconvenient angle for the moment. These things instantly pulls the player out of the immersion and makes one realize that the game is nothing more than a poorly aged PS2 game that uses outdated controls as its core gameplay.

The game's shallow mechanics is stretched by constant downtime and cryptic puzzle solving, with often terrible RNG in the AI's pattern that further extends the frustration and time wasting, making a supposedly one hour game into a six hour mind-numbing journey that by the end, one would wish that it could end sooner.

When a game's difficulty stems not from player's skills and knowledge but the gameplay design and fundamental controls, you might as well go watch a movie instead because at least you don't have to deal with poorly thought out mechanics and infuriating engine physics.

Shadow of the Colossus is a beautiful, melancholic but flawed game.

You play as Wonder, a young man tasked with killing 16 colossi to resurrect a girl. These colossi populate the forbidden lands, a grand, lonely expanse you traverse alongside Agro, who is both your horse and sole companion. Despite some pop-in, the game looks consistently excellent from the environment to the designs of the colossi. The colossi are huge, haunting figures, and killing each one plays out almost as a series of puzzles. You have to figure out a way to exploit the individual weaknesses of a colossus, and this is usually quite fun but the specific method of killing one can be too obscure at times. Although you're given a hint or two to keep you on the right track, figuring out what exactly the game wants you to do can be a bit frustrating, especially as you often have to goad the unreliable enemy AI into certain actions before you can take them down. This was my first playthrough of the game and I often found myself unsure as to what I was supposed to do.

When you do manage to take down a colossus though, and everything works as intended, the game feels epic in scale and you're treated to some fantastic music. The music in Shadow of the Colossus is great and helps to maintain the sombre tone of the game.

On the whole though, the core gameplay loop is solid - you're told your next target, you find them, kill them, and move on to the next one. How you find the colossi is quite smart as well. In a well-lit area, you raise your sword and point it around. When you point it in the right direction, a beam focuses on your destination. I liked this, as it felt more interactive than just following a waypoint or a minimap. No minimap means the game can do away with the HUD when you're not in combat too, so you can better take in the visuals. Getting to your destination is no trouble either, as your horse is speedy enough and exploring the world is decent fun.

It's just a shame that playing the game can be annoying in places. In addition to some of the fights as mentioned above, the controls, and the way the camera fights against you in particular, are frustrating. It's not terrible, and you've kinda gotta just accept that the camera has a mind of its own and let it do it's thing. It gives you some nice angles at times, but at others it makes you stare at the floor. Using the left trigger to focus on a colossus in a fight helps alleviate this issue a bit. The controls while climbing are also a bit iffy. It can feel temperamental, glitchy and like you're not in control.

Overall though, this is a great game with a solid, somewhat emotional ending. The ending didn't take me completely by surprise but I enjoyed it nonetheless. Although I think Shadow of the Colossus is great, I also think it's plagued by some issues that perhaps stem from it being a remake of an older game with antiquated design sensibilities. Regardless, what is mostly a beautiful experience is marred by some frustrating elements.

Good Lord, what an awful game in comparison to the hype!

The visuals are quite good, whilst at the same time clearly not the pinnacle of this generation's capabilities.

They've given this game a 'makeover' when really what it needed was demolishing and rebuilding from scratch. There are a handful of nice concepts either badly executed or marred by other bad game designs.

The controls, especially the horse, control like a tank! I found it nigh-on-impossible to manoeuvre the horse correctly. The controls are also horribly unresponsive. Many times I was stood next to the horse pressing the button to climb upon it, only for my character to start jumping on the spot or calling the horses name due to the button having two functions - very bad design.

The worst offender in the whole game may be the camera because it is the most prominent and omnipresent issue. The camera simply has a mind of its own and you will spend more time battling that than the colossi.

And the colossi? Another fantastic concept but let down so badly by the repetition and monotony. I had had enough by the time I defeated the first one. Holding up the sword to expose a weakpoint ironically leaves you exposed yourself because you can't move at the same time, which indicates a now ancient game mechanic rarely visible in modern games. Climbing the colossi can be very tedious and repetitive also, with the game giving random and sparing prompts as to how to actually play it.

Overall, this is a hipster's dream, in that the reputation far exceeds the quality. I was very much looking forward to this and so am therefore further disappointed by this letdown, so that may have biased my review, yet I see other reviews noting similar issues. This game is a relic of the past and should have stayed there.

But as much negativity that many remakes get or the whole concept of it at all is, this title deserves to be a little better each time.

Shadow Of The Colossus is for one an atmospheric game. Where the player are thrown into a mythical fable, a vast fantasy world, large colossi monsters and very little else. I don´t really get other reviewers comparing it to games like The Witcher, and other fantasy games. They have NOTHING in common with them. The game's philosophy and execution is not even comparable to anything. Probably The Last Guardian, but it is by the same developer.

Bluepoint kept the basic concept and it´s main focus: You (the player) vs the Colossi´s. They did not ad much in to "fill it up", but kept the artistic integrity and the focus the original makers made it to be. There is little around you to take you away from the main story of the game. No collectibles (well a little, but totally unnecessary) or sidequests. And that takes skill to make something like this.

Trough your whole journey, learn to suck up the amazing scenery, the sixteen epic boss fights and the story of one boy´s fight to save his sweetheart.
Not much more to say about it. The juicy controls could be better probably, but it does not feel too troublesome.
A true arthouse of a game and a magical classic that is very faithfully preserved in this third remake.

I was hyped thinking this was an action adventure game. But instead this is a puzzle game to figure out the colossi weakness before finishing it off. As a result I used walkthroughs more often, as I was stuck frequently trying to slay each boss. Controls are also whack, when trying to climb or ride the horse. The only time I was interested in the game was during the ending.

I made an account just to warn you to not play this piece of trash. The game has a great setting and nice music, but it's repetitive and very boring and annoying. The camera is awful as the horse controls, it's a frustrating game, an absolute waste of time. **** trash

The graphics are decent on PS4 Pro but the game has too many issues. In no particular order:
The dialog is all in Japanese. They clearly spent $$$ on art production but couldn't pay a little money for an English voice track? Lame.
The controls are wonky as hell. Riding a horse has never been more annoying. The instructions are minimal (you'll need to read the manual). The camera

The camera angles and swing work against you. The game relies heavily on parkour-like mechanics but the camera is always swinging in the wrong places so you end up falling off stuff unintentionally and wasting time re-climbing.
The parkour sucks. Sometimes the character climbs as expected, other times, they get confused and just go up and down with no progress which just drains your stamina unfairly..
The game relies on you basically killing a bunch of colossus creatures that have weak spots but they don't consistently show them to you making for stabbing-guesses and long arduous battles. Bug?

I have no clue why this has such a high metacritic rating honestly. It's not the worst game in the world, but certainly not worthy of a 93 rating.

But when you get past the first colossus or two and you get into the rhythm of things Shadow of the Colossus is one of the most memorable games to come out in the last 20 years; every person who has played the game will have their favorite colossus and will carry their memories for years to come. And after two prior attempts at making this playable on previous systems (and almost succeeding on the ps3), this has got to be the definite version as it removes minor inconveniences that would annoy most any player, and adds extra tidbits for anybody wanting to spend more time with it.
And most importantly... It actually runs at a stable framerate for once (not necessarily 1080p 60fps but it is very playable at 30 fps as it used to run at 18 fps on its original release in 2005)

It comes with small improvements in the gameplay area that don't let us forget that success has to be earned but ultimately make the game more playable. The graphics are just beyond amazing. Fantastic game, and a masterful remake of an absolute classic.

Firstly, for the naysayers, and haters. The landscape in this game is not baron, it's artistic. Whilst this is subjective, the game was originally designed to be marveled at, and to enjoy the open landscapes. I remember on PS2 being blown away by how vast the expanding scenery was, and gave the world an ethereal feel to it.

Whilst this is subjective, the game was originally designed to be marveled at, and to enjoy the open landscapes. I remember on PS2 being blown away by how vast the expanding scenery was, and gave the world an ethereal feel to it. This version of the game built on the back of that, and certainly delivered. The world feels magical and pulls you in to its mysticism. If it doesn't for you, then that's just an inability to appreciate the great atmospheric conditions provided by the developers.

The controls, were a bit tricky at times, which is why I took a point off, but they are by no means horrible. I was able to ride the horse fine without any real problems. Most of the time you're in open fields galloping, this is done purposefully to enjoy the view, and appreciate the world you've been thrust into.

The collosi are just, well, breathtaking. When you see them lumbering around, you really feel small and vulnerable, but at the same time, I feel a certain sorrow for them, I can't really explain it, it's just the way the game is cinematically presented to you.

The soundtrack only adds to the depth of the experience, and I remember the game as fondly as I did when I first picked it up on release for PS2.

To Summarize: If you have appreciation for more than just material content (I.E a million quests to do), and enjoy an artistic, and atmospheric experience where you fill in your own agenda with your imagination, then this is a title you will thoroughly enjoy. If however, you're not someone who can appreciate video games as an art form, or have little to no patience, then you're probably best avoiding the game. For most people this is a unique title, that very much deserves its praise, and I'm happy it's been made available for the next generation to enjoy in all its magnificence.

Big fan of SotC here who lost the fight against "common sense" and bought this game for the 3rd time!! haha!!

I wanted to come here to make a point on the game from a NON PS4 PRO user.
Seeing all the reviews and most of the previews being released shown for PS4 PRO, comparing the "performance" and "Cinematic" modes and all, got me a little worried on how well (or bad) the game would run on an Old, Vanilla, PS4 which is almost 4 years old now!

Well I gotta say I am impressed and count this game as one more game that DOESN'T convince me to get a 4K gaming grade TV and a PS4 Pro!
It runs very very VERY well even on regular PS4.
I tought I'd feel an urge, a need for 4k/PS4 Pro some time sooner or later but Sony seems to refuse to "lowball" us and make us feel like we HAVE to upgrade to actually enjoy current gen games!
To me, 4k/PS4 Pro right now could be considered like "Icing on the cake" which despite being enjoyable just doesn't feel smart if you're a bit tight on money!

Of course it won't support HDR, there'll be a little more aliasing but it's barely noticeable unless you get very very finicky about it!
So, all in all, I just downed 2nd Colossi and I'm enjoying it!

As for the game and the "remaking", somehow, I think there was a greater difference comparing the blurry and choppy PS2 graphics to the PS3 remaster than this remake here...
I may be wrong tho, it's been a while since I didn't play the game but in my memory, it seems like the PS3 version was already looking pretty good.

This PS4 remake isn't as jawdropping as let's say some very MAJOR remakes like the 1st Resident Evil which the total remake made it look like a totally different game...
It's a considerable rehaul but when taking Resident Evil in comparison, it is a little weak and underachieving.

    So, overall I'd give it a 8,5~9.0...
I wished they would've added some stuff since they sold us the idea that a "Remake" should be so much more than just a "Remaster".

No matter what, we want a Sequel to this or a game of the same genre!
In the meantime, I'll get back to it!

    Enjoy!

This made the already barebones, arthouse story even more unappealing to me. So many gamers and reviewers laud this game as a must play but I was hugely disappointed by it.

If you're a modern gamer who never played this during the PS2 era, or who appreciates more developed narratives with compelling characters like God of War, Witcher3, RDR2, Detroit, Final Fantasy, Nier Automata, LA Noire, Uncharted, etc..AVOID THIS PRETENTIOUS, ARCHAIC CRAP.

It’s a good remaster, but frankly I find it unnecessary. Those who have already played the game on PS2 or PS3 will find nothing new here, and those who didn’t have the chance to get acquainted with it probably will not understand what we saw in Shadow of the Colossus 12 years ago, when gaming reality was completely different.
