    Beautifull but empy

Most of the original story is missing, Took me 5 hours to finish on hardcore difficulty and 30 hours to get all trophies. Game is too short and linear, Nemesis only appears at specific locations. If you gather enough points to buy the infinite rocket launcher first, the game is over, because you won´t even bother trying to buy other stuff Resident Evil 3 Remake

Resident Evil 3 Remake is nothing more than a RE2 Remake DLC...Capcom did a good job with latest DMC, RE1 &2 Remake, but now they became CRAPCOM again.

Not worth the $60, maybe $30 bucks

The multiplayer (Resistance) is a joke, played 1 match and deleted...slow matchmake, downgraded graphics and lag...total garbage

It's not perfect as Resident Evil 2 Remake but it's still a good game. Most of the critics say the game is pretty short, i'm a regular fan from the series and it took me 7 hours to finish the game. The only negative part of the game for me is that Nemesis got his character development evolved really fast through the game, he needed to "shine" more.

Capcom esqueça o resistance e solta uns 2 Dlçs bem feitos do modo estoria e tá tudo ok.

Super fun and high replayability. People feel it’s too short or has too much action but it’s comparable in length to the RE2 campaign (minus playing through basically the same campaign multiple times with a different character with only minor differences) and OG Nemesis was more action oriented too. This game is a perfect bridge between RE2 and RE4.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Personally thought it was a great game. Graphics are incredible, acting is so much better than the cheesy 1999 original dialogue. Soundtrack is very well done, much more faithful to the original than the remake of 2. Nemesis, when used is very well done. 2 great chase sequences and 4 epic boss fights. The story is still the same, but told from a more coherent, realistic perspective. Carlos is much more likeable. Nemesis just isn’t used enough though. His appearances are also way too linear. Very disappointing to have the what if’s about what a more open Raccoon City could be like with Nemesis on you as much as Mr. X from 2. But then, if the average gamer complained about him being too difficult. They would likely do the same to Nemesis. Is the game short? Yes, but it’s still longer than the original. About the average length for a game in this series. It has replay ability though. There is a shop section that unlocks after beating the game. You get points by completing bonus challenges. This unlocks include costumes, weapons, and stat boosts that can be applied to further play through of the game. There’s also 2 hidden unlockable difficulty settings that greatly change the gameplay. This makes a total of 5 modes to play through. Capcom was very honest in stating that this wasn’t a frame for frame copy of the original, and I’m glad. I wouldn’t pay 60 dollars for something I’ve already seen and done. The doge mechanic still needs some work, but they can easily improve it in other games as the series goes on. There are some content cuts that don’t make sense. The clock tower should have still been explorable. Barry should still make a cameo in the ending. But what’s there is still very good. These minor things are not valid reasons to immediately right it off as a bad game. That’s just petty if you ask me. It ties better into the main storyline now. Overall, die-hard fans of the series will be able to get lots of enjoyment out of it. The core elements of what makes Resident Evil fun are mostly still there. Given the current state of the world, with everyone stuck indoors 24/7, we should just be grateful we got a decent game to pass the time at all. I honestly think the group of people throwing hate this games way are people who have just become a bit jaded as the years have gone on. It’s undeniable that Resident Evil tends to have a very fickle fan base. No matter how good a game is, they always have something to knit pick and hate it for. I personally feel this was one of the better ones in the series. Expand

Risks were taken and they all paid off. What we have is an elevated more coherent version of the original story in terms of characters, their motivations and the events that took place. It's an intelligent restructuring with greater emphasis placed on the star of the show 'Nemesis' and less meandering about obscure locations in the third act, like in the original, instead it boils until the pot spills over with a more logical sequence of encounters and areas. It also takes what is an already linear game (RE3 Nemesis lacked significant backtracking, instead opting for flourishes like item & enemy variation & live decisions) and presents it in a way that is better suited to the story being told.

What might mark a series first are serviceable and well paced cutscenes that don't impede the visceral interaction of the genre thanks to their direction, writing, acting and brevity. More than any Resident Evil before it they help realise the intended progression, which is to say one long unrelenting chase sequence and one spectacular climax replete with uncomfortably entertaining '80's action heroine quips', fun fleeting character dynamics and a simple, accessible plot i.e destroy the creature.

Whilst 2's remake was in many ways a tribute, 3's makes a genuine attempt to raise the spectacle and continuity of it's legacy. The original from a gameplay perspective is in fact a great game, despite lacking in coherency and not really fitting into place other than to make a few major contributions to lore. As a sequel, as an end to a trilogy it arguably lacked the necessary framework. The developers very deliberately made an effort to fix this through their unapologetic vision, predictably to the outcome of nostalgic outcries.

There might be division but make no mistake this is an incredible game and as good as the previous remake, even after multiple playthroughs I'm still looking forward to a lot. It is however built on different choices, with a variety of increasing highly altered difficulties and an in game shop that's respective currency is tied to achievements earned via campaign mastery.

As of this review, I'm hoping it gets some DLC akin to the previous add ons for Re7 and Re2R but for what it's worth I do believe the main game stands on it's own as a tight, finely tuned romp.

It is a good survival-horror game , with incredible controlls and chessy lines and spectacular graphics. I would definetley recomand this to somone who hasn't played it yet , and loves a good "Poop your pants" adventure.

Oh and one last thing. If you ever think "Man , Nemesis is so lame. He dosen't even chase me half the game." Then try Inferno mode and I guranate you , you will wish he would stop chasing you. :))

This is an excellent game. The gameplay is refined and the campaign flows well. Jill is well voice acted and her character design is great. The nemesis was the highlight of the game and the chase sequences are well made.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I’ve played RE as they came out. So I’ve seen the series evolve. I loved the re2remake but this game was a terrible disappointment. The game ,for one, cut mercenaries mode, clock tower, grave digger, park, waste facility, live decisions, puzzles are completely gone except for 2 pathetic quick puzzles, no crows, no spiders (still), no epilogue files. Cut content everywhere.

No backtracking gets me a lot though. It’s way too linear to have any real replay value. Walk forward, cutscene, kill enemies, cutscene, set piece boss fight, cutscene. Near zero backtracking and it just becomes super boring. Nemesis is regulated to boring set piece boss fights and is only a bipedal enemy chasing you for 20 minutes then completely ceases to be a factor whatsoever. The disrespect they did to Nemesis is just awful. It near ruins the game. If you’re a old school RE fan I don’t think you’ll like this game at all. Post RE4, maybe.

The good things is the characters were portrayed great, graphics is still outstanding, gameplay still is tight, hospital segment is actually great until it ends with a game time pad segment.

What I hate is backtracking is near nonexistent, nemesis design and gameplay and utility is worse as it gets, camera gets clunky as hell during boss fights for some reason, Carlos goes to RPD instead of Jill, brads death isn’t shown at all, the game cuts to the train (traincar) part way way WAY to quickly essentially skipping a third of the game. The city was actually smaller than the original. One of the huge set pieces of RE3 is reduced to a single street. Basically what you see in the demo is what you get with the city. That’s it. This game was grossly rushed and pushed at the same target audience as RE6. I don’t know WHAT capcom was thinking. RE2r was a mixture of new and old while preserving the hallmarks of resident evil. The hallmarks are 1. Resource management 2. Puzzles 3. Branching paths that allow backtracking and exploration (Files and side story elements) in a highly detailed environment to get familiar with 4. Tough but fun combat with dangerous enemies 5. 2 playable characters. If these elements are fallowed it’s pretty much destined to be a at least a enjoyable RE game.

Plainly put, RE3r isn’t the worse RE game I’ve played but it’s easily in the bottom 1/3rd. Its also major disappointment that betrays it’s source material and the RE hallmarks I mentioned. I give it a 6.1/10 which is not a good score. It’s a near fail.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Resident Evil 3, while not terrible, is both worse than the original Ps1 game, and the Resident Evil 2 remake, which is a crying shame, because when the game is good, it's very good.

Resident Evil 3 is a remake of the ps1 game of the same name, and to this day, the only ps1 Resident Evil I've actually played, which is good, because while I've heard both REmake and RE2make can be both appreciated as standalone games as well as remakes of two classic titles, I can say with absolute certainty that that is not true for RE3. The main issue is obviously the length. Playing the game on Normal (before it got too hard for me and I had to move it down to Easy because I suck) the game lasted me about 4 hours, and that's with dying several times on almost every Nemesis encounter and exploring the game thoroughly for items, Where a single run of the original game lasted me about 6 hours, still not a huge amount of time, but where that becomes an invalid argument, is when the Choices come into play. Resident Evil 3 had the occasional story choice, which could alter gameplay drastically, even leading to several endings, the survival of certain characters, and a cameo by everybody's favourite character, Barry Burton. This remake however, has none of that, it's a linear experience from point A to B with little to no replayability. Resident Evil games have always been short, but they've also always had extra content and heavy replayability. RE1 had two characters and different scenarios for those characters, RE2 evolved that by having both characters stories happen at the same time with two different orders, giving you 4 whole ways to play, an RE4 had Mercenaries but was also notably longer than your standard RE game at the time. 6-13 hours is what I generally expect to get out of my RE games, taking my lack of skill into account, and depending on the playable character count. I really think RE3 remake dropped the ball on its length, but even a short game can still be great, and unfortunately RE3 stumbles there too.

Nemesis is iconic, there's no two ways about it, his "STAAAARS" line is bone chilling and instantly recognizable, his horrible grotesque face is horrifying and exciting all at the same time, and the way he runs at you, genuinely scary in the original, even with its primitive graphics, so did they accurately reflect and evolve that like with Mr. X in the last game? Nope, not even slightly, he's way worse in fact. Whereas Mr. X was an ever present threat who could jump out at any moment and mess your day up, Nemesis is relegated to scripted sequences, making him an entirely linear threat, and therefore making him very unthreatening. He's also kind of a joke, in the original you could fight him and get a gun part out of it as a reward, but it was HARD, he was a force to be reckoned with and wouldn't go down without a fight, it made him scary because there was choice, it activated your fight or flight mode, but in the original, one grenade and he's down for the count, so disappointing. It doesn't help that Nemy doesn't even get any S.T.A.R.S kills, which is his only job, where he killed Helicopter Pilot Brad Vickers in the original, this time Brad is bitten by a zombie while Jill runs, and while I appreciate the attempt to redeem Brad for leaving his partners in the first game, it means Nemesis doesn't kill any S.T.A.R.S members because the remaining S.T.A.R.S all survive to appear in later games, so Nemesis looks comically incompetent.

I don't hate this game though so I would like to say something nice. The final boss is badass, especially Jill firing a Railgun, it totally should have obliterated her ankles, but screw it, if Chris can punch boulders, Jill can fire railguns. I also like Carlos a lot here and his relationship with Jill, I miss his accent but he's better in almost every other way, the other Umbrella operatives are also great, Nikolai is as threatening as ever, Mikhail's final stand is great, and I also found myself really liking Tyrell, Carlos' friend, who I wished got more to do before the end.

Overall, while not bad like I said, RE3 is the worst of the Remakes and the far worse that the original, it's a game I thin you should play, but only at a heavy discount.

The game just isn't as fun to complete as RE2, and is just as bland as the original RE3 was. Compared to it's predecessor, the RE3 remake feels somewhat of a story DLC instead a game of it's own. The most important aspect of it lies in it's non existent replayability value, only some items changing position and the enemies toughening up on harder difficulties and that's it. Given however that it looks as good as expected, a 6 is more than justly deserved in this game that "It's fun while it lasts" Expand

Even though it is a very successful game, you will feel a little disappointed. Compared to the remake of the second game, this one often loses its pace and it is impossible to get rid of the impression that there could and should have been more to this game. [Issue#303]

All we can say is that six hours of Resident Evil 3 is just enough - and we're aware that's both compliment and curse. [Issue#346, p.88]

After a stellar remake of an arguably the best Resident Evil game ever made, Capcom has let down our expectations by giving us a more scripted, more linear survival horror action game that will probably be forgotten like so many sequels that have gone the path of less resistance when it comes to game design. RE3 make feels more like a DLC than a full-blown game.
