There is a lack of puzzles. Its' a good game to spend time on a weekend or on a boring afternoon, but it looks like they made Resident Evil 3 in a hurry just to sell the Resident Evil Resistance. And for people who expected to a exciting game like me, or even for those who are fan of the Resident Evil Series of at least the original Resident Evil 3. I'm sure they got very disappointed in the end, just like me Expand

First of all, I would like to talk about the main frustration of the game: Nemesis. He is no longer the relentless Nemesis that haunts you all the time. This only happens at a single point in the game. And it is not the same sensation because he jumps like the Hulk and just appears in front of Jill. It is not a shark that slowly approaches its food. They should have taken advantage of that element that was already present in 2 Remake.
Anyway, Nemesis is just an excuse for action scenes. You just need to press forward and sometimes use the dodge than you will never die. He's MUCH inferior to Mr. X. And, unlike Mr. X, Nemesis IS the heart of Resident Evil 3.
It does not stop there. In addition to taking the heart of the Resident Evil 3 Original, they also cut landscapes, scenery and especially all the puzzles in the original game.
For all this, it is a game that is only worth buying when you have a discount and a nice discount. Despite being fun and good, it is very short and disappointing.

The game is good but that's what makes it more disappointing. Lack of Puzzles and cut off areas which makes it feels that the game is rushed. The characters are very good but they changed some stuff that will make hardcore fans pissed of mainly because when you buy a re3 remake you probably imagine Jill in certain situations that just are not there.

I will start by saying I went into this with low expectations after seeing they literally copy and pasted zombies from RE2 remake. I would give this game a 5 and here's why.

Resident Evil 3 2020 is not a bad game- or even a bad Resident Evil game. This game is way better than Resident Evil 4-5-or 6 at least in terms of staying away from pure action ( which this franchise needs to do). I would replay this game.

With that said. Re3 is not a remake- it's a re imagining of resident evil 3: nemesis 1999- and a poor one at that. They have cut out so much content- so many iconic areas- so many NEMESIS ENCOUNTERS- that it's not even funny. They cut the grave digger boss- little worm enemies- spiders- crows- about 90% of the nemesis encounters. You see the nemesis out in the world ( when you actually have the ability to explore and not just run away) a total of two times. The nemesis does drop items like in the original- but since you can only fight him 2 times in the world- and once when you're leading him away from the shelter ( a running segment) it literally amounts to a maximum of 3 drops. The final drop being shotgun shells. Pathetic. The areas that were cut: Restaurant- Press office- 90% of the alley ways and buildings in the original- Clock Tower- City Park- Graveyard- Dead Factory- and I'm sure there are others. The story deviates significantly from the original- Resident Evil 2 remake was great in part because it stuck to a horror theme while also loyally sticking to the source material. The story is essentially identical to Resident Evil 2 1998 with a few things added or removed.
I honestly get sick and tired of people saying well Resident Evil 3: Nemesis 1999 was more action oriented than resident evil 2- because it wasn't- not really. It had more action in the sense of fighting or fleeing nemesis - but played really like any resident evil game before it. I doubt the people who make this claim have ever really played the original games. The amount of action in this new Resident Evil 3 game compared to resident Evil 2 remake feels more like the difference between Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2 (night and day- with the latter being more like an arcade game) than the difference between Resident evil 2 1998 and Resident evil 3 1999.

Before the game came out Capcom bragged about improving Mr.X AI- that you'd be free to explore the city and that he'd pop out randomly ( like xenomorph from Alien Isolation) - as well as expanding on certain character stories and roles. None of this happened.

While I don't believe this game is absolute **** ( deserving a 3 or below) it is a ****ty Resident Evil 3 remake- not to mention it was lazily done and rushed ( all zombies were literally copy and pasted from RE2 remake). I doubt anyone will even read this submission but those are my thoughts.

    Pros:

    Cons (comparison to classic):
    - Nemesis make me fell like I was been chasing by the Terminator;
    - Nemesis second form looks like Alien! (Are you serious Capcom?);
    - Where is the rest of Raccoon City?;
    - Nemesis fights were odd;
    - Beginning;
    - Ending.

Unfortunately, as a fan of RE 3 classic, for me this game is poor. Again, it could have been much better. What a shame...

On top of all that, it is supposed to be a survival horror according to capcom with only limited action elements and yet it's way too action oriented for that, there is like almost no scary stuff here... Guess weak ost is also partly responsible for lack of horror atmosphere, they have remixed some old tracks, but most music is new and those new tracks is rather uninspiring, they do absolutely nothing to enhance the experience. Also, the main boss of the game, Nemesis, is mostly absent in the game, he pursue Jill only in the begging of the game and them became a standard recurring boss who only appears when the plot want it. Bizarrely it's also somewhat an inferior compare to RE 2 Remake in terms of zombies reaction towards damage - guess it's was a need sacrifice for the sake of framerate in those moments where game does not even trying to be an action-horror and just dumps tons of living corpses at you. I dunno and don't care. Since it's so bland and unoriginal in terms of gameplay I struggle to pin point what is wrong here... On it's own is just your bog standard somewhat slow console over the shoulder shooter. Guess if you like stuff like this you will be pleased, but I'm prefer far more fast paced third person shooters than what capcom, epic games and naughty dog like to do today. So yeah, they've officially promised a horror game and made your typical ots action, that's so original...
But as a remake or even re-imagining this game is just **** It's sucks. Not only it does not respect the original source material, but it's just refuses to actually, you know, "remake" or even "re-imaging" stuff from RE3N 1999. How can it be considered a decent re-imagining when it has less locations to explore than original, lol? Where the hell is Clock Tower, Park and Dead Factory, **** What did you do to ammo crafting, why the hell I can't craft as much types of ammo as before, why less? How is this an improvement? Why the hell an old game has a deeper crafting system... This is like... I mean... Just why? Why do you have a completely inferior version of original mechanics??? Why Nemesis stopped being a proper pursuer? You literally made Mr.X in your previous remake more like original Nemesis and then you thought that it's gonna be a great idea to limit new Nemesis instead? Why the hell the game is not scary, original was like in top 3 scariest games in the series and what, at some point you have randomly decide to turn it into in almost pure shooter? Who the hell asked that?! Why did't you replaced the Live Selection with something else if you thought that it's bad or not good enough feature for this game? How the hell it's an improvement to make a linear game with weaker story instead of no-linear one? I know I have already wrote about an inferior level design compare to original, but it's not just that, the thing is most locations is completely unrecognizable! At least RE2 Remake as limited as it was still featured that Police Station, with brand new, but still recognizable appearance and nothing like that is presented here, absolutely nothing! People who defends this game is trying to downplay the cuts by claiming that city and hospital are still in, but they're not because nothing looks familiar aside from some super minor nods. We've got very small hub section of the city instead of couple different places like it was done in original, but new city is not just smaller it also completely different too and same thing with hospital, which means that no, capcom decide to cut not just three location, they have literally CUT THE WHOLE DAMN GAME SINCE ASIDE FROM POLICE STATION NONE OF THE LEVEL LOOKS LIKE THEY USED TO, THEY ARE A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT AREAS, WITH DIFFERENT TONE, STYLE AND ARCHITECTURE. Capcom have cut the entire goddamn game, not just park/tower/factory... It's so disappointingly unfaithful... After all these years, we've got both an inferior game on it's own and bad remake/re-imaging as well! I just can't believe this. And press is fine with it, they don't care, they even claim that original game was an action-shooter too. It's no wounder that it's so overrated, reviewers literally don't even trying to be objective here and straight up lying about original in order to find an excuses for all these shortcoming and failures. But you know what? I don't care.

He is in the company to make money. Yes, on the video he smiles, says that he loves all of you very much and appreciates every fan, but he really doesn’t care about your opinions. When there was a videoconferencing of investors before the release of remake 2 and they said that it would be released, I and another guy from France seemed to be interested in how canonical the remake would be (2), it would be a remake as a remake of 1 part or a restart, on that he replied (almost verbatim): "Everyone doesn’t give a damn about what happened a long time ago. Now it’s a new time and we need a new audience. And those who played early games will not even remember half, so the canon is what we are creating now" . 2. After Re7, when the game was kindly asked and asked for a remake2, he was very opposed and wanted to continue the story of Ethan. In general, he is very proud and feels himself the savior of the series. 3. Remake 3 was completely ready a month after the release of remake 2. They slowed down specially, they wanted to look at the fees, if they were worse, remake3 should have gone as a paid add-on. Model Jill, by the way, was ready after Leon, but before Claire. But Remake2 soared into the charts and then he advanced the decision to repeat the feint and sell Remake3 as a new game. For the entire time after the release of remake 2, only the menu was moved to the center, added dodging (with her flash her mother), the model of Nemesis and its form of mutation were slightly corrected. Everything. 4. Resistance was riveted almost on the knee, redoing and trimming the early version of the Battle mod for a remake2. To the question of why, “now games of a similar genre are fashionable (several players run away against one, such as Friday the 13th, I’m not interested in that honestly) and you need to enter the market, you need to try again to enter microtransactions, it’s profitable” (remember the first steps in Relevance2?). 5. He does not like spiders. Therefore, they are not. And in the concept of a remake of 1 part, the Black Tiger is cut almost immediately. At first I wanted to cut Lisa, but I watched Mr. X come in and now she is in his role. I hope they will redo everything, I will not get access to this info already, the investment contract ends in June. 6. In addition to the main game, there is a DLC with the working name Last escape - about Nicholas. He really likes him. Released or not - not in the know. There is a suspicion that they will not be released. They know that because of the short duration, the negative is now walking on the network. Of course, he doesn’t give a damn - the main thing is that they carry the loot, but from above they told the situation not to glow. 7. The old parts are generally very cold and rather negative. He says he would have done much better, redid a lot. Therefore, the Revelations series has now hung, he does not like the whole story with the Wesker. 8. The development is now part 8 (the very one that was restarted with this **** Ethan), the concept of remake1 and the outbreak for viar in the manner of chronicles (rail in the sense, but against the background of the recent half-life, they’ll probably remake something like that). Soon they should show something, I’m not specifically aware of it, I have nothing to do with these “two” remakes. 9. The re3.5 developments were taken in re8, he generally proposed re4,5,6 to throw out the new concept, make a remake of Veronica officially as part 4, but now as far as I know they don’t work on it, maybe the second studio is working, I don’t know Something like that. I have not been to the videoconferencing since January and I will not continue to cooperate. Since childhood, I had a dream to touch the series. Touched. At least in the form of an investor. I don’t like who now “directs” her. The development team doesn’t like Fabiano very much, the Japanese are more turned towards the fans and want to move the old universe, but the board of directors likes that the money for the series goes in large volumes with not very large budgets. If remake3 financially repeats the success of remake2 (God forbid surpasses), wait for the next cut.
    - Now a remake of 1 early concert. The script and all that. Fabiano does not like animal enemies, so under the knife went spiders, crows, worms. They barely barely persuaded Gennady. And the dogs. By the way, under the clock tower there should have been a basement with spiders. But the tower with them went to the same place as the cemetery with worms.

The game feels like RE5-6 in terms of mechanics and gameplay and that's exactly everything that is wrong with this remake, if we can call it that.
Nemesis is a joke, it's like a MR.X with an awful redesign. He's heavily scripted and his behaviour doesn't make any sense. Not to mention that some of his moves are a joke.
The gore has been reduced for no reason, the OST is just terrible and like in RE2 Remake, they didn't tried their best at all. But at least in RE2 we had the option to switch to the original OST while in RE3 that option doesn't exist and you're forced to play with the awful remake version of the songs.
And don't even get me started on the final battle which is pure unfiltered garbage straight out of an anime or the typical Platinum games that i hate.

Hard to believe how they butchered this remake after the masterpiece that they've done with Reside nt Evil 2 remake.
Refund made, i'm not even bothering with Capcom and future Resident Evil titles anymore, this is just pathetic.

This is what happens when you leave the remake in charge of an incompetent team that didn't even play the original game.

I liked the changes that they made to the original and how they made it fit in better with the Resident Evil 2 remake by showing you what happens before the events of RE2. I thought that was really cool.

I did enjoy the more linear and action orientated game play, even though I am a huge fan of the puzzle solving in Resident Evil 1 Remake and Zero and 2 etc...this was nice to still have the resource management and but with very light puzzle solving.

I definitely think this is a massive improvement over the original Resident Evil 3 and a good game for people who haven't played a Resident Evil game before to dive in and try out the easy mode.

There are lots of challenges and replay value on the harder levels for more experienced players and it's a lot of fun to play through multiple times to unlock all the extras.

But this installment made me divided. The first part of the game was great, and that's it. The design of the Hunters were pretty great and they are awsome. Carlos is awsome, the cinematics are great. The OST is ok, with original tracks remixed. The ties with RE2 were fine. But RE soul is to explore, to backtrack, to solve riddles and puzzles. This is a deal breaker for me, i wont be buying any titles from here on, CAPCOM begun to make great things with RE Engine but it seems they entered the "confort" zone again. This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After playing to completion in just under 5 hours with 11 deaths I feel this game lacks the same draw and appeal that its predecessor brought to the fan base. I have played Resident Evil 2 remake multiple times and this new release does not compare in many aspects. RE3 remake does bring with it a more action orientated approach with the dodge mechanic and the more aggressive and agile Nemesis when he appears but the story flies along and seems more of an afterthought than a critical part of the game. There has been changes from the original game to locations to make them feel more modern with little twists such as Carlos being the one to enter the police station instead of Jill. But the omission of the clock tower area with the substitute being a boss battle with stage 2 Nemesis around a roundabout in front of said clock tower felt cheap and it was things like this that cheapened the experience along with the knowledge that the game can be completed in under 2 hours (trophy/achievement details this) that made this seem a little cash grabby. Overall if you are a fan of the Resident Evil series you will no doubt enjoy this retelling of the PS1 classic but if like me you played the classic when it originally released you may be slightly disappointed, especially when compared to last years RE2 remake. I think Capcom would have saved some criticism if they had released this as a stand alone expansion for £25 or pushed back the release and expanded on the story not reducing it. Expand

What a disappointment. First and foremost the game is way too short for the price that it's being advertised as. A full $60 for a 2 hr game. This is not a remake title more like a DLC or "expansion pack" to RE2's REMAKE. The gameplay is nearly the same, few more action segments with Jill's action. And speaking of Jill not only did they take away any femininity the character had but CAPCOMWhat a disappointment. And speaking of Jill not only did they take away any femininity the character had but CAPCOM was dishonest about the original outfit! We were promised a original character pack with our preorder. So WHY in the heck is Jill in shorts and not her SKIRT from resident evil 3? This outfit has been used in RE1 Remake, Chronicles, and other titles. But now she gets shorts? Way to bend the knee Capcom, in the worst way possible. After watching others play and stream the game and my own brief time with it I quickly got a full refund from Steam. Give this game a pass or WAIT until it is in a bargain bin steam sale. It's NOT worth $60! Not one bit. Expand

Unlike Mr. X who would show up out of nowhere at any time, Nemesis's encounters are scripted, I mean there still epic, but they don't feel as surprising as Mr. X's. Overall, I feel like this game should've been DLC to RE2 the same way Uncharted The Lost Legacy was to A Thief's End, maybe if Capcom decided to release the game next year so that they can have some more time to add features, then the game would've blown RE2 out of the water. These people lied. Because of their own success, they themselves have become arrogant. I really feel betrayed when I think about advertising a lot in the pre-creativity period. Considering the second series, experts have lowered the rating a little, but I will not do that. It should never be remade as it is now.

Too much spam, I'm tired of the alien of isolation enemies like "Mr.X and Nemesis". The dodge mechanic doesn't function very well. The Dead Space enemies on zombie heads is bull **** causing easy hit damage.

You can't dodge in tight spaces. The zombies moving away from you have weird frame-rates. Once you hit Alien ehmm I mean Nemesis you have nothing to defend your self with.

The lock pick can't be enabled it has to be stored. They should of kept the run or fight mechanic and allowed nemesis to go down like in the original. They added very stupid new game + with a grind points where you have to do to access items in the so called store. The game doesn't feel very balanced it's not a resident evil game that I enjoy at all.

50% of the game is cut, Nemesis is able to become spider man from the clouds. Hardcore mode auto saves.

The game feels rushed and uninspired. Nothing about this game feels like re3 for ps1. It feels like RE4 + Alien isolation + RE6 + Spider Man. If these games scream RE3 to you then something is wrong with you.

I absolutely hate this game. If this is how capcom is going to continue making games. Dude throw in the towel you suck at this point. This looks to just be capcom quickly turning RE2 remake success into quick cash and hoping nobody sees.

This really upset me and I don't think I'm going to continue playing capcom games after this title.

That was how things should have been done but not this time following the abomination that was RE:2 (Awful B scenerio etc.) Capcom have done it again with a lack of respect to the original material that feels nothing like the original Resident Evil 3. Example in the original game Jill explored the Police Station but nope it's Carlos who explores it. The made so many changes it's a slap in the face to us who played the original but just like everything else if it was made before 2000 its outdated and needs a remake. Sigh. First the good: the gameplay from RE 2 remake is back without any changes beyond the new dodge mechanic. And the game is a very pretty game with lots of vibrant colors and set pieces. However the biggest issue is the with the length of the story. It will last you 5-6 hours AT MOST here. Even searching out every item and backtracking all the time to collect the stuff you need to move forward doesn't do much to help the length of the game. Especially since a ton of content from the original game has been cut to help the games flow I guess is the reason they're giving. Its extremely disheartening since they're selling this as a full price game when there's barely enough content for a 30 dollar game, no matter how good the actual gameplay is here. Basically, if you're not into the multiplayer they slapped on here to give it more content then there's very little reason to buy this game now, especially with so many other titles coming out at this point. It's really too bad since the actual game itself is pretty good. But there's no way I would recommend even the most hardcore RE fans to buy this until it drops to about the 20 dollar range. Expand

Shorter, linear, less sophisticated but still enjoyable version of RE2 Remake. Feels like spin off with simple guileless story strengthening that impression. But the difference is, there are more enemies, enemies and items are randomised, enemies more stronger (Inferno you die with one hit and less saves) and not to mention Nemesis isn’t a joke then, he’s a lot faster and stronger and I mean faster as in run up to you within a second, he does a one hit kill which means you got to dodge everything! This is the key for nightmare onto Inferno, you have to dodge! Stuff the original, this is a completely different game and people are forgetting that this is not going to have everything the same as that would be completely pointless in remaking it! Are people stupid? Also It wasn’t short, all Resident evil games are the same rough length! I also spoke to Nicole, Jills voice in an interview and she stated that they have been making this for years! Who cares if Raccoon park wasn’t in this or there wasn’t much puzzles. This version of the game isn’t about that, it’s about getting the hell away from nemesis and surviving. The game makes sense and answers stuff that ain't answered in the original, this is a story about Jill and giving her an actual purpose she wants to save the city not just herself! It gave more to the characters and their story and they have actual personalities. Puzzles ain’t important not in this game and how it’s meant to be and plus most of them are so unreal which is why they are not put in this, you think Jill has time for aiming her laser to a mirror to get a door open, no! It’s unrealistic and stupid. This game makes more sense especially as it’s SURVIVAL HORROR like Jill has time for puzzles. The original was just something they put together to try something new. If you hate it then whatever go and play the original, it’s not gone anywhere and still exists. Can’t you appreciate anything? Like I said, you want a challenge then go and actually try by playing Inferno and Nightmare mode. The game ain’t a joke and you will die trying. I mean like 50 time’s in a boss fight if you can’t dodge. I loved the game and it gave everything a reason, Resident Evil 2 remake I hated, cringe voice acting and Claire looking weird and stuff nothing made sense. This explains things like the original didn’t. Another thing I want to say for the ones who wanted Nemesis more, you think doing puzzles and running around with him on your back for this game mechanic will work? No because of how much he would just be punching you and stuff. It wouldn’t work. If you want to actually fight in the game and get frustrated and play for longer and get the REAL experience then do it on the different difficulties! Expand

I can accept it as a reimagining as it's great at that but not as a remake of the original due to the few cuts they made and due to those cuts made it shorter than it should've been. The original wasn't that long either but I don't accept that for a modern remake as they can take what's been established and expand on it and make it amazing like they did with Resident Evil 2 remake. But this is more of a reimagining and should be considered as one and for that reason I'm not giving it a negative rating as it's just simply a great game in that regard.

    Pros.

+ Graphics are improved over it's predecessor which is impressive and shows how amazing the RE engine.

+ Sound effects are great and you can hear every detail.

+ Soundtrack has more of a focus than it's predecessor and it really shows with some nice tones and some dread inducing ones at the right moments.

+ Atmosphere is amazing and shows why the Resident Evil series is one of the best at it.

+Jill Valentine is fantastic and her design is done very well.

+Nemisis is still terrifying as ever.

    Negatives.

    - The detail in the gore and dismemberment of enemies has been toned down, while it doesn't effect the experience much it is noticeable.

    - A bit short, while it's more of a reimagining, another hour or two of content would've been much better because when you have gameplay that is this fast it can feel like you're progressing quicker than you actually are.

    -Some enemies have been cut.

    Verdict.

Nostalgia was strong with this game. As it was my favorite of the entire Resident Evil series. What's not to love about the OG Nemesis?
While I loved this game, and it is nostalgia being the reason I rated so high. This game was a huge missed opportunity with how much they cut from the game.
But the game has a few downs.

    The Bad:
    1. The game is incredibly short. When I saw the trophy list to beat it in under 2 hours, I was worried. And my worry was valid. The game is way too short. They focus to much time on speed runs. If they would have dropped the speedruns, and focused on story and content, it would have boosted it to a perfect 10. The major point deduction stopping it from a perfect score was how short the game was.

    2. Nemesis Stage 2. This was a let down. Instead of getting the bad ass tentacle beast of a nemesis stage 2, one of the scariest boss fights in Resident Evil 3 ps1, we got a dog fight. I loved the game. But this fight disapointed me. I was ready for the intense battle with Nemesis. But this werewolf form running in circles was a let down. They could have saved this form for the fight in the acid pit. Which we have that same fight again, with the same tactic.

    3. The entire clock tower part was removed. That was a bit of a bummer.

    Now...
    The good:

    1. This game is beautiful. It looks amazing. It plays amazing. And it feels amazing. There are a few old school jump scares mixed with the creepy environment that really make you just enjoy the scenery.

    2. The original nemesis chance scenes are great. In the beginning, I loved the Nemesis hunt.

    3. The feel of being back in Raccoon city, and seeing the old school ps1 city brought to life was pretty awesome.

I loved Resident Evil. But they really need to bring back all the things they cut. And Merc mode! I felt a little jipped with the rewards shop.
The old school Merc Mode to get points to buy in the store would have been a lot of fun. And then, the shop had very few items in it.
    Where is the Gatling gun!?

Can we have a Resident Evil 3 Remake Remake please?

Many people are over reacting about this game, giving it ratings which are not true or have any sense.
Is this game great? hell no.
Is it trash? no! Is it good and enjoyable ? Yes imho. Not every game must be a masterpiece, some games just come out decent and passable, they will be forgotten soon of course by many, but that doesn't mean they deserve a 0-4 rating, keep these ratings

Not every game must be a masterpiece, some games just come out decent and passable, they will be forgotten soon of course by many, but that doesn't mean they deserve a 0-4 rating, keep these ratings for the real scam games, which are unfortunately a lot nowdays :(

I Have finished the game 2 times for now, first walkthrough "hardcore" difficulty, then assisted for some more achievements, knowing then the game, this is what I think of it:

    Pros:
    - The graphic is great

    - The environment is very well made, every assets really is fitting perfectly in the game, RC in the beginning is outstanding!

    - The combat system response is great and very accurate, it is really enjoyable killing zombies, which is 50% of what RE is about, isnt it?

    - I liked the story, it flows well, so the characters and their interactions

    Cons:
    - The playthrough is kinda short, I have finished it in 8 hours at "hardcore" and I am a slow player when it comes to single player games because I like enjoying visually the environments, reading stuffs etc etc. Then replayed it in "assist" mode, it took me 2 hours and a half knowing what to do. In standard difficulty an avarage player will beat it in 5 hours or less as a first run. Seems more like DLC lenght then a standalone game.

    - no real puzzle, the ones inside doesn't give any challenge, they just pretend to be problem solving minigames but they are not. This sucked

    - The game is too linear, and scripted, it is like watching a movie (a good one), especially nemesis encounter which are great, but triggered every time by the game progresses . The exploration and the returns to the save room are very few, that is IMHO the worst problem in this game, that unique feeling of discovery and fear of returing into a zone because you died there many times before is nearly absent.

    - Many key zones of the original are missing, that's a pity, because with them it would have had more hours of playthrough, making it a great run.

-Zombie's bad AI: kiting them between the doors and hiding in the next room withouth having them following you is really breaking immersion...and is bad!

    CONCLUSION:
The game has flaws, many of them are HEAVY. that's a fact.
That doesn't mean it must be thrown it in the garbage. It surely has its EPIC moments, and it is enjoyable especially if you don't think and compare it with RE2 while playing it!
With more playthrough hours and some nice Puzzle it would have been a great game, but sadly they are not in the game, so it is passable/decent, nothing more nothing less.

There is an ingame shop where you can buy infinite ammos and items which will help you going thorugh it again for better ratings which can be bought with virtual points completing the challenges , the problem is that there are not multiple endings, so it can be played again just for fun.

With the game comes an online mode called RE Resistance, wich I have never tried because got bored during the tutorial. rofl.

    Final verdict: 7/10

I never played the original, but its sad, that the developers just cut 2 iconic locations. If they didn't do that, the game would be more of a better remake than a new interpretation AND it would be longer. I can't imagine paying full price for this. Fortunately, I waited until it was $20. It lacks that grounded atmosphere of Resident Evil 2 REmake. It's also very linear and a good deal of the enemy encounters are scripted, which is not only a step back from the previous game's encounters with Mr. X but also from its consistent enemy placement. In RE2 REmake, if a room has two zombies in it and another has a five, you make a mental note and constantly strategize the safest path to progress. In RE3 REmake, you either zip by zombie encounters with an explosive barrel or finicky dodging, or you may find yourself passing through a room of zombies and when you return, it's empty. RE2 REmake's moment-to-moment combat just feels better to play.

RE3 REmake is also absurdly short. I was able to beat it in less than 5 hours on standard difficulty and even quicker on hardcore mode. There are no other game modes included - however, there is a separate free online game, Resident Evil: Resistance, but that's a whole other 20+GB download (and, technically, a separate game).

It's a super cozy and short experience. I wish they added some like great CLOCK-TOWER content in the game, but honestly, it's all good and the game play and style is fantastic.

I've been missing the cheesy B-movie greatness of the Resident Evil games so it was fantastic having this one just commit to it. Not perfect, not the longest game ever but damn, I found it incredibly enjoyable

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This remake of Resident Evil 3 left a lot to be desired, I played the game and played it twice already, it is fun, in my opinion it has good gameplay and the graphics are very good.
But unfortunately I didn't like it, besides the parts that were removed, the game has script and logic problems that didn't exist in the original game.
When I played Resident Evil 2 remake I was bothered by Mr X because he looked a lot like Nemesis in classic Resident Evil 3 so I figured CAPCOM would change Nemesis even more insane than it was, but it was very disappointing , he is only a "Stalker" only in one part of the game, in other points the chases are in cinematographic parts that it was very boring.
These transformations were more or less and maybe they would not be bad if they only complemented the previous transformations, the fights with Nemesis in my opinion are also not very nice, they are very "cinematic" too and the animal does some things that I don't have no sense, he keeps showing himself with the firearm and the bazuka, doing poses I don’t know, I don’t know how to explain it well but I found it strange.
The old game had different paths that we could follow showing different faces of the story which was really cool and had more than one ending, this is a point that I saw few people commenting on.
Now, after actually playing the game, I still don’t agree with a score below and 6 or 7, but I completely understand who assigned low scores like that, the game is very inferior in script and plot in relation to the old game and this is one of the points where he could not go wrong at all. I know that many will not agree because the acting of the actors is magnificent you connect with the characters because they really burst into incredible acting, but it is still well below what it should be.
It's a generally fun game, but it doesn't live up to the original work by any means.

Just not nearly as good as RE2.
Truthfully, I haven't played the original RE games 1 through 5. But I understand the RE veterans being mad about this, I would be too if they f'd up Metal Gear 1 + 2 remakes from the NES era. So I understand.

In my opinion, RE3 was alright, though I agree it felt like a RE2 DLC. Nevertheless I had a good time with it. Like most I didn't bother with the multiplayer. It took me about 7 hours to complete the game, and that was with checking every knook and cranny in the game for ammo and healing items on hardcore difficulty. It wouldn't be fair of me to compare this to the original game, because it didn't play it, so nor shall I. My biggest gripe with this game was that the big baddy (Nemesis) doesn't feel as threatening as the RE2's Mr. X who could just burst through a door at any point, so you never felt safe. In this game, Nemesis encounters is scripted. Which was a big let down for me. Otherwise I thought the game was fine, entertaining enough, and the story was a little above average in my opinion. I might play this again to get my sweet platinum, but I'm not feeling the urge to play it again, like I did with RE2. If you haven't bought this game yet, I would wait for a sale, or borrow it from a friend. Like I said I wanted to keep this short, which I failed at, so to summarize in one sentence:

    It was aight.

I hate that resistance is suppose to fill the gap between your buck and the games bang (bang for your buck). The sequences they cut (clocktower, graveyard etc.), could've added so much more substance, and it being cut really does feel lazy. As a nostalgia trip, the game is great, but when held up to other single player experiences (spiderman ps4, days gone, the last of us, I'll even throw the dishonored series into the analogy), it's not worth 60 dollars. Plain and simple. What they did do, they did phenomenally, but what they didn't do, leaves this title feeling like a rushed cash grab. I personally, will never preorder another capcom game again, as I cannot trust they will respect my dollar Expand

Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. worst remake ever, where's Jill in the RPD? , A nemesis is the one that didn’t manage to kill Bradd, there’s no puzzle, they left out the whole clock tower scene, the only positive points are the gameplay with Carlos and the final fight against the nemesis, and nothing else, where’s the magnum 357 the real hand cannon, I only bought it because the remake of the 2 was much higher than expected Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. There was a time when the fans argued about the camera angles on the remakes, being completely trusting that the original source would be respected and built upon as they did with RE1. Well little did we know they had alot more in mind that they wanted to change and erase.

Whilst it was a nice touch for them to introduce the original soundtrack throughout the game, it completely fell short when it came to the story, how it played and the length.

It is no secret that the original was a short game but the pacing of it made up for it with the massive replayability due to the choice sequences, the pacing of the remake is just terrible and you have no choices this time around. You're in different locations and the story has moved on within minutes.

They messed it up almost instantly by launching the biggest threat into the mix in the opening sequence. That is just not how it played out. Jill was supposed to make her way through the streets where she would eventually face off Nemesis at the RPD station. This was all completely erased, including the iconic scene with Brad's death (I was so looking forward to see what they would do with that with the technology they now have.)

The story was changed far too much, they cherry picked parts from the original and created what we are supposed to class as the official telling of events. What they did with Nemesis forms is unforgivable, they turned him into a dumb rabid dog. It's still a good action game but it could have been released as a DLC for 2, with a new character being pursued by an all new tyrant. This game was not Resident Evil 3 and it's an enormous disservice to the fans to release what they have - a souless cash grab.

RE2 was not perfect but it kept the essence of what made the original so great and the story stayed in line for the most part. Why they decided to change direction after the success of that is beyond me. Without any pun intended but it's time Capcom stop biting off more than they can chew. Terrible remake but decent shooter.

Even though it is a very successful game, you will feel a little disappointed. Compared to the remake of the second game, this one often loses its pace and it is impossible to get rid of the impression that there could and should have been more to this game. [Issue#303]

All we can say is that six hours of Resident Evil 3 is just enough - and we're aware that's both compliment and curse. [Issue#346, p.88]

After a stellar remake of an arguably the best Resident Evil game ever made, Capcom has let down our expectations by giving us a more scripted, more linear survival horror action game that will probably be forgotten like so many sequels that have gone the path of less resistance when it comes to game design. RE3 make feels more like a DLC than a full-blown game.
