A lot of content was cut from the original, but this does not prevent the game from being great. Worse than RE2 Remake, but still came out great

Yes, it's short, yes, removal of puzzles is disappointing, and, yes, it's different than RE2 remake (but original RE3 was different from original RE2 as well and in a similar manner). But it's a highly addictive fast paced action game in a good way. And yes, I want more of it!

The multiplayer game Resistance is...fine? it is not my cup of tea but seems okay from the few hours i put in it with friends. I am a little shocked about these "reviews", giving zero points to a game that has no real technical issues, bugs or gamebreaking freezes and what has beautiful graphics, stellar voice acting and fantastic gameplay. It is not right!

Like many of you, I have played the original game, and I have been a long time fan of the franchise and though it is true I would have LOVED to see more content like a Mercenaries mode after you finish or more unlockable content, but let's be real...this is a great game. Jill is as awesome and well acted as ever and her design is top notch. The Nemesis encounters always vary as he is constantly evolving throughout the game and learns from each time you manage to defeat him. The character of Carlos is much better and a lot more complex and likeable as well than it was in the 1999 game.
So I understand that some old-school fans wanted more puzzles and a longer campaign with less action but this is 2020, games are a lot faster paced these days and linear acton titles are more cinematic than ever with the spectacular visuals. And the game sales prove they were right as this remake is selling more copies for Capcom than any of ther titles before. Sure the second game's flawless remake has a lot to do with it as well, but if you're a fan of the series and Jill, you should like this game! Maybe wait for a price drop, but you should have a great time!

The only criticism I have for this game is length of it, yes it is quite short but that doesn’t necessarily mean what I played was crap because it honestly wasn’t. Jill is at her best here making her character feel more alive than ever and the same too Carlos their chemistry is sweet. The gameplay is exactly like RE2 remake but they’ve added a dodge mechanic which works pretty well in tough situations. Nemesis is a beast but I do wish he was as present as Mr X but at that the same time if Nemesis was as present he would pretty OP and would eventually become more annoying than terrifying but fell the times I did encounter him it was a blast. The final boss was slightly anticlimactic similar to RE7 but when I actually up the difficulty that’s when RE3 is at its best because the items are switched to different locations, zombies are faster, deadlier and Nemesis is just absolutely terrifying when the difficulty is on Nightmare mode or Inferno mode. Everything about the campaign was great I just wished it lasted 1 or 2 more hours but a 7 hour campaign didn’t really bother me as much as it did to some people, I’ve played many amazing games in the past that were just as long or shorter such as Inside, Mirrors Edge, Hellblade and. Uncharted Lost Legacy. Overall, I had a blast in RE3 story mode and I’m so glad I got to play this remake and play as my favourite character from the series again but Capcom maybe release a short single player DLC for RE3 , but overall I would give the story mode an 8.7 out of 10

    Multiplayer:

There’s not much to say about Resistance but I’m honestly enjoying it, me and my friends have been playing it for the past few days and it’s great fun and it’s nice from the mainstream multiplayer but I can imagine it slowly dying down in the future but for now I’m having fun with it and I’m not experiencing any issues with the game or bad teammates because I have a whole group of friends who know how to
Play it! But I’m sure it will die down soon and won’t get the same success as the horror multiplayer Dead by Daylight did. Overall, I give Resident Evil Resistance a 7 out of 10.

After the massive success of the Resident Evil 2 Remake which I covered last spring, Capcom was smart to continue with the RE remake cycle with Resident Evil 3. Incredible modern graphics and going with an over the shoulder style instead of the original third-person perspective will make new players feel as if this game was conceived and made for the first time in 2020 and not 1999. TheAfter the massive success of the Resident Evil 2 Remake which I covered last spring, Capcom was smart to continue with the RE remake cycle with Resident Evil 3. Incredible modern graphics and going with an over the shoulder style instead of the original third-person perspective will make new players feel as if this game was conceived and made for the first time in 2020 and not 1999. The gameplay is buttery smooth and if you have already played the Resident Evil 2 Remake your muscle memory should jump right in and take control without ever missing a beat.

This is so true that at times during the game you will feel like you are playing a DLC and not a completely different game. The re-use of assets from Resident Evil 2 will also make you feel this.

When you add a limited five-hour playtime that sense that you just paid Sixty Dollars for a DLC really starts to bark loudly at you.

Nemesis is constantly Lurking in Resident Evil 3

To be fair that is the only gripe I have with the Resident Evil 3 remake. I absolutely love everything else about it. The game was able to make this jaded old gamer jump in places and that is no short task.   One of the things that I use to differentiate a good game versus a bad game is how quickly I am drawn into it and how fast time seems to melt away while I play it. Resident Evil 3 had me looking at disbelief at my clock as it took me deep into surviving Raccoon City instantly and made me want to invest a disproportionate amount of time there.

Like Resident Evil 2 you will spend your time jumping between two protagonists Jill Valentine a member of S.T.A.R.S and Carlos a member of the Umbrella Corps who realizes that he might be working on the wrong side of the outbreak and assists Jill in trying to stop NEMESIS the genetically engineered super Weapon of the Umbrella Corp.

You have to slug, shoot, and dodge (Dodging in this game is the absolute key to survival. You will find yourself without ammo on a consistent basis if you do not master this skill!) your way out of Raccoon City. While doing so you will be constantly talked by the before mentioned NEMESIS who serves as the game's antagonist and absolute bullet sponge. Be prepared to be incredibly frustrated in any attempt to avoid him.

    Final Thoughts

Resident Evil 3 is a great game period. It looks amazing and plays amazing and will absolutely draw you in, the only shortcomings are that you are not allowed to stay for too long.

The game does come bundled with a new asymmetrical multiplayer mode called Resident Evil Resistance which is much like previous asymmetrical horror games I have reviewed like Friday the 13th and my person favorite Dead By Daylight. The multiplayer is beautifully executed by suffers from its own success. Essentially to many people want to play as the antagonists so if you are hoping to run around terrorizing people as nemesis expect a long frustrating wait...at least for the near future.

Outside of the length, RE3 doesn’t offer much in terms of a memorable story, environments, or even enemies. Most of the time you’re fighting zombies with the occasional monster appearing to mix up the combat. This game would have been perfect as an expansion to the RE2 remake but as a stand alone title it’d wait for the inevitable sale. Expand

Great game, nice to revisit it after all these years, even if it isn’t an exact remake of the original. Only gripe I have is that it leaves me wanting more and just feels a bit too short. At times I feel like I’m rushing, which is entirely because of the break neck pace of this game compared to the RE2 Remake.

Intro: Resident Evil 3 (Remake) is for some fans was a very underwhelming experience. There are instances of cut content and the gameplay being only around 6 to 7 hours and scenes from the original being cutaway that was in the original. However, I do not think this game is even as close to bad game or zero out of 10 like some people are making this game look to be. However, I do not think this game is even as close to bad game or zero out of 10 like some people are making this game look to be. While this game is not as amazing as RE2 remake, this game is one of my personal favorite RE titles along with RE 1 Remastered and RE2 remake because it's a very fun experience, especially for new players.

The Good: Despite what some fans will say, this game is very fun. The combat in this game is very solid and does utilize the dodge mechanic fairly well. At first, it's a bit difficult, but once you start getting further into the game, it becomes a lot easier to use later on when dealing with enemies. Weapons and their usage are fairly similar to the RE2 remake, but items like knives are not breakable and grenades and flashbangs can not be used to get out of a zombie's grasp, making it more essential to try and not get grabbed and lose health. This game is also a lot more action-based then RE2 remake. With this game having more ammo and healing items to help aid you in highly dangerous areas in the game. Speaking of which, the areas in this game a beautiful. Using the RE Engine, this game looks incredible and made me excited to play through. Also, the monsters in this game are annoying to deal with, but in a good way. I felt very threatened while playing certain areas of the game such as the lab and hospital when fighting enemies such as the hunter betas and pale heads and they made me think twice before going out and exploring the game.

The Meh: So in this game, one of the main enemies you will encounter is Nemesis, a high intelligent tyrant that can use weapons and even transformed during the story. He is also able to do some very powerful and unique moves to try and keep the player on their guard like in an actual fight. Now while I still think he is cool in the game, he also has a very weird and unneeded weakness in his design. If you have a hand grenade on you, you can easily take him down and be able to escape to a safe area. This is not exactly great mainly because compared to RE2's Mr.X, Nemisis falls way too quickly. Also, some areas in the game where batteries and explosive drums are around can keep Nemesis off your tail which can be a bit of a bummer sometimes. However, if the player doesn't have a grenade, good luck trying to escape because other weapons can sometimes not be very useful in dealing with his movements. Another thing I would like to bring up is the missing areas in the game. While the game does have some very nice looking locations, some were not included like the park or clock tower areas. Now I looked back into these areas and honestly, the park was not that interesting and looked kind of boring with how it was set up and was probably not a great idea for this game. The clock tower, however, I do believe should have been kept in to make the game feel scarier with the giant spiders and add in the missing puzzles. The zombies here are not as gory and detailed as in RE2 which kind of sucks, but they can still be minor inconveniences for the player.

    The bad:
There are two main issues I have with this game, the length and the cutscenes. When playing this game, I felt the cutscenes took up way too much time in the game. There were so many moments in the game that I felt could have been used to create new areas to explore or be more interactive using quick time events to let the player do something during their run times. Also, the length of the game is short for modern games. I was able to get through this game in around 6 hours and that is too short for a game in this day and age and doesn't justify 60 dollars, maybe around $30 to $40. This was the perfect time to expand on the game and maybe even add new areas, but Capcom blew it a bit which sucks. Speaking of areas, seeing what the clock tower was in the original game and looking at RE3 remake, I felt that they should have included that area in this game.

Overall: Despite what some people may say, this game is very fun and not even close to bad. There are some issues like the length and cutscene runtimes, but overall is a fun entry in the series. The game does a great job of making Raccon City look a lot more different than in RE2 and does have many great moments of the gameplay. However, with issues such as the game's length being short and Nemesis not being a huge threat on lower difficulties, it does water down the game a bit and leaves more to be desired. It's not something I would recommend at full price, but around 40 to 30 dollars, this game is a great addition to play whenever you have some spare time

This game is every bit as good as its predecesser, except for one fatal flaw: its length.

Although the game is quite a bit shorter than the RE2 Remake, I'm struggling to find ways for Capcom to add length to the game without it feeling forced or like it qould be dragging. They do a great job keeping the story moving, and no location overstays its welcome. The game is a joy to play from

They do a great job keeping the story moving, and no location overstays its welcome. The game is a joy to play from beginning to end, with a nice variety of gameplay elements to keep things interesting and fun. The game is best played on Hardcore, where the challenge and horror elements really get a chance to shine, and it helps slow the game down so you get more out of it.

The game looks just as stellar as the last one, but the music is slightly more of a classic RE style, which is welcome. Guns sound just as punchy and are still just as satisfying to use, especially when during some fun moments in the story.

All in all this is a must have for any Resident Evil fan, with the only downside being the craving for more after the credits roll. My only issue is the amount of cut content from the original game, maybe this was to help with pacing but it would have helped to pad out the game's length in some way.

The gameplay is very good and the enviorment is amazing but the problem is that the game is too short and a lot of iconic places in the original Resident evil 3 is not there, also the original game was way longer than the remake. I recommend that you take it when there is a discount on it, it worth 30$ or even less.

Obviously, the RE:2 Remake was always going to be better. It was a remake of a more popular game. It was a new 3rd person experience that took everybody by surprise. RE:3 stays tru to the formula and takes some risks, some paid off some didn't. Compared to RE:2 its underwhelming but again, in a vacuum this is still a good game and I enjoyed it. So far I have beaten it 3 times, One blind on standard, one speedrun on easy and one 100 percent collection. Now that I have a good foundation, I am excited to try the harder difficulties. Expand

After a stellar remake of an arguably the best Resident Evil game ever made, Capcom has let down our expectations by giving us a more scripted, more linear survival horror action game that will probably be forgotten like so many sequels that have gone the path of less resistance when it comes to game design. RE3 make feels more like a DLC than a full-blown game.
