Resident Evil 3 Remake is a good game. But it is INCOMPLETE.

CAPCOM took advantage of the MARKETING of Resident Evil 2 Remake to sell the RE3.

    Be ashamed, CAPCOM.

    Adding DLCS is MANDATORY.

The boss battles were very poor, and this was due to poor design, and always have an abundance of ammunition and health items.

A massive step back in the RE franchise, and a missed opportunity.

Wait until its half price or less.

Will call this out for the greedy cash grab that it is. I was looking forward to playing this during the quarantine (ironic huh). Like many good reviewers already said, this feels like a good DLC and is not worth its price tag. I can see the Capcom in this game that gave us RE5,6 and other mediocre games

Tempo de campanha decepcionante,além de muitos cenários e inimigos serem reaproveitados de Resident Evil 2 (2019). A Capcom parece que fez o jogo com pressa, só pensando em lucrar.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. In the wake of Resident Evil 2's remake, I was actually pretty optimistic about this game, but not only does it not live up to the same standard, it seems like a ton of corners were cut and the game, unfortunately, was mostly a low-effort cash grab. Don't get me wrong, it's a very pretty game, and has great sound, but that's about where my praise ends.

Some of the basic complaints I have:

-Huge amount of cut content from the original

-Dead Factory (which was one of the best parts of the original imo) replaced by yet another generic lab setting, so they could re-use more assets from 2's remake.

-Knife no longer has durability, but also is nerfed to the point of near pointlessness, i.e. can't dismember zombies, does far less damage, etc.

-"Dead" zombies in the environment which are scripted to get up and come after you after whatever trigger point can't always be preemptively disposed of. In other words, you can shoot them, and they won't react, but will just activate after a story beat regardless. This never happened in 2.

-Absolute lack of puzzle elements. The closest thing we have in this are a couple of maze-like sections to find mcguffins. One of them full of infinitely respawning mobs that just endlessly harass you, and magically spawn right next to you when you're forced to interact with a story object that has a long interaction time.

-The boss battles are just awful. I can't even. Not difficult, but just boring. Playing ring-around-the-rosie with one boss who literally can't touch you as long as you just run tightly around the center of the boss arena waiting for him to do his mechanic so you can damage him is just... boring. It's not fun.

-JIll's characterization. She's not the down-to-earth Jill we all know anymore, no... now she's "updated" for a "modern audience," which basically means she's a needlessly snarky "womxn" who has to shoot down anything any man says to her. In other words, insufferably obnoxious.

-It really does seem just unfinished to the Nth degree. I have to wonder how much better it would have turned out if they hadn't attached their uninspired pet multiplayer project to it and instead used all of that budget toward the main game instead.

I can go on, but it's just not worth it. Buyer beware. If you're a megafan of the series, you may enjoy it for its novelty (or hate it for all the missed opportunities,) but even then, I'd wait until it was deeply discounted.

too much content is cut, the game is rushed and doesn't feel like a real Resident Evil game more like a bad copy. in a remake you must add stuff not cut, remaking a game from 1999 must be better in 2020.
    a clear disappointment from capcom.
in comparison RE nemesis 1999 is a masterpiece, far more better from this trash

It was an action oriented experience which many fans disliked at the time. This remake was a chance to strike a tonal balance between the series' identity as Survival-horror and the Action-oriented nature of the original game. Unfortunately this remake failed and the result is a poorly paced, tonally inconsistent entry to the series which will fall short of the majority of consumers expectations. In the opening hours it becomes clear that Resident Evil 3 remake lacks the significant maze-like level design that made the previous two entries to the series; Resident Evil 7 (RE7) and last years remake; Resident Evil 2 (RE2R), such a joy to explore. Instead players will here find a title which quickly becomes a linear experience ridden with set pieces with no need for the player to consider planning a route. Expectations regarding this title's main antagonist, Nemesis, were understandably high after experiencing the harrowing encounters with the villains Jack Baker and Mr X in previous games. Unfortunately the emergent gameplay many were hoping for is mostly absent from this title. Nemesis is largely relegated to highly scripted sequences and the generic boss fights reminiscent of weaker Resident Evil titles. There's a reason why this remake isn't given the full title of it's source material. Many fans deciding whether or not to pick up this remake will be anxious to know whether their favourite parts of the original game made the cut. Well, unlike last years remake, this title fails to take the majority of it's source material and reproduce it in a faithful fashion. Large sections of the original game, enemies and a boss fight have been cut from this remake. This could be forgiven were it not for the game's pitiful runtime. Last year's remake managed to take it's original's run time and significantly increase it to meet modern expectations without it ever feeling padded. Most players got at least 13 hours out of RE2R without having to consider starting a true second playthrough. People's expectations were therefore high for this game and, when combined with the 60 dollar price tag, are justified in expecting a campaign comparable to the likes of RE2R. Unfortunately this remake fails to significantly extend it's campaign beyond the length of the original to something modern audiences have come to expect. At just 7 hours for an initial playthrough this title really stretches our ideas about the subjective value one can put on a game.

This is perhaps why Capcom have bundled this title with a buggy, unbalanced multiplayer mode in the form of Resident Evil: Resistance. It is important to note that extra modes seen in previous Resident Evil titles have never before had to justify the lack of content in their single player modes, the latter of which being the main reason most people buy these games. Had it been given another year of development this title could have been the remake everyone was expecting. Unfortunately, despite glossy visuals the game manages to be underwhelming in terms of level design, Nemesis encounters, faithfulness to the original, campaign duration and value for money. Consumers should wait for a sale when considering purchasing this game which should really have been sold as 30 dollar DLC for last year's excellent RE2R.

Very dissatisfied with this after coming off such a huge high that was resident evil 2. They took out so much content and the game felt rushed. A disappointment in every way after the experience offered by RE2. The inferiority is evident almost immediately and the game never is as fun or interesting as RE2. The Nemesis system is clunky and too canned. Jill's character model is ugly. Its just a weak effort all around. Skip it or wait for a super good sale.

OK... So this is what happens when you market the hell out of your game and completely rush it. I'm not going lie, I really wanted more out of RE3 remake, but sadly it's a huge **** disappointment. I'm not trying to interpret it's a horrible game, it's actually decent. I'm not trying to interpret it's a horrible game, it's actually decent. It's what you think it is. Resident Evil 3 that plays like Resident Evil 2. However, it fails to be better than, if not as good than either of them. If I didn't know any better, I'd say this is a Resident Evil 2 Remake DLC. That's how half ass it feels. A **** load of content was removed that was in the original. I was looking forward to the park and exploring the clock tower whch were really important levels in the orignal game. I get there are some interesting new ideas but cutting great content that made the game great shouldn't have been an options. Moving on to the gameplay aspects of things let's talk about Nemesis first. I keep hearing mixed perceptions on him but my opinion on Nemesis is that he's **** ass and he's barely terrifying . In this he don't even live up to his name. He's heavily **** scripted. The big guy only makes an appearance when you do something. Mr. X from RE2 actually searched the precinct for you and although he was slower and didn't use weapons he felt more scarier because you know he was mostly always there looking for you. I realize Nemesis was scripted in the original but it was down better because he felt like more of monster than an annoyance. Boss fights with Nemesis are horribly done. The first fight was ok. The scenery of the construction site being in gulfed in flames while taking on Nemesis was awesome. Although fighting him felt more like a tom and jerry cat and mouse situation. But next fight was poorly designed. For some reason all of a sudden fire affects him. So he falls into the water and mutates into a hugh reptile thing??? When fighting him I died like four times. He was lighting this larger **** up with mines and fire rounds he wouldn't go down. I eventually got passed it, but that boss fight was poorly integrated. The enemies are pretty rough but that's expected for a Resident Evil game. However what really annoys me is that when Jill will be in dark ass areas and not turn her damn flash light. So I'm always getting nabbed because I can't see what's coming until the last minute. If you seen my streams you would know how much this pissed me off. I literally was about to take a whole entire **** point off for this **** Jesus **** Christ! The length of the campaign 5-6 hours? Like what the **** Really Capcom this is what you call a $60 game? Ok beforeI blow a blood vessel let's talk about a few thing I like. Jill and Carlos are awesome characters. Jill is well designed, she's beautiful, well acted and an all around down to earth despites what's going on. Carlos is **** hilarious with his one liners. Although Jill constantly shoots him down when he shoots his shot his confidence never waivers. And he's kind of like a superhero. The storyline really makes you wanna read on the missing documents especially in the U.S.B.C I hope I'm getting their acronym right. The zombies come in a lot of packs, so you better bust your gun. Don't bother trying to run past them if there's more than 3 coming towards you. I had to constantly learn that the hard way. There are also new enemies like the hunter B, these sewer monsters that will eat you whole if you get too close and these insects from the original game that will put their maggots down your throat. LOL wow... Racoon City seems has a more simplistic design in this one, but it does look stunning. And nice to see that back tracking is still nicely designed and shows it could still work newer in games. However, the environments streets are blocked off by cars and barrucades and are narrow so running away like I said is barely an option. But it was pretty much like this in the original so I'll give them that one. While this game has quite a few redeeming factors it still feels like they rushed the game and literally started on it after finishing RE2 Remake which was a year ago and it's feel so inconsistent. That being said I'm rating it a 6.5/10. At first I was going to give it a 7. But bringing up all this made me realize it isn't a 7. It's hard to believe IGN gave this a 9... For me to give a game a 7 it has to at least feel like it was worth $60 bucks. RE3 Remake wasn't. I love Resident Evil. But Capcom needs to stop rushing it's titles and bringing ideas no one asked for. Expand

This game is a regression from the RE2 remake, but it does not make it a bad game. Some of the things I hate, any man others too, is quick time events which this game has an abundance of. The level design so far lacks and complexity nor does it succeed in immersing you in the story. This game is a regression from the RE2 remake, but it does not make it a bad game. After a stellar remake of an arguably the best Resident Evil game ever made, Capcom has let down our expectations by giving us a more scripted, more linear survival horror action game that will probably be forgotten like so many sequels that have gone the path of less resistance when it comes to game design. RE3 make feels more like a DLC than a full-blown game.
