I have the feeling that this game itself is more for characters rather than gameplay and usual puzzle solving. It is short but packed with great character development scenes.

I felt there was enough survival horror elements to me, nothing super complicated, but also nothing super sophisticated as if you were in similar situation, with zombies swarming the streets, feeling of a constant rush and not even thinking about solving some time consuming puzzles (water levels from original oh God...) - it is about the escape in the end, not sightseeing.
I am a faithful fan of a the series and 3rd installment was the first game I played on ps
I obviously miss the clock tower and hideous grave digger, but I am happy to see also new locations in the remake and new enemies as well.
I am happy with what Capcom produced, but I also hope they will release some extras to it, because I understand anger of other faithful fans claiming it is too short.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view.

    Recomendado a jogar.

If you are a fan of the series, ignore any negative reviews. This game continues in the same vein of re2 remake. Not as great as re 2 but then again neither was the original. Well done, great graphics in the city, mechanics are very good. As for it being short, I don’t mind games that actually have an ending.
Bravo Capcom, bravo Jill Valentine, I Hope Code Veronica is next!!

This is an excellent game. The gameplay is refined and the campaign flows well. Jill is well voice acted and her character design is great. The nemesis was the highlight of the game and the chase sequences are well made.
My only criticism is that the game is short and feels more like outstanding DLC than a substantial game.

It's a great reimagining and an excellent game, but definitely not a remake. I paid full price for it and still don't regret it. I would describe the gameplay as a mixture of Resident Evil 2 Remake and Resident Evil 4. It's more "on-rails" feeling than Resident Evil 2 Remake. Visually, the game is beautiful.

Another great addition are the "coin" boosts. You can really customize your play style if you are willing to sacrifice a storage spot. So, even beyond normal, hard, and even harder modes, you can tweak the difficulty from within there with the coins.

Jill and Carlos' characters are generally well done, neither too invincible, too weak, too arrogant, nor too obnoxious as are characters in many modern games. The Mikhail villain is a bit overly one-dimensional, though.

The upgrades and rewards systems are likewise actually attainable without being ultra-expert level player (like RE2R required) nor playing for a million hours. With moderate to generous repeated gameplay, you can achieve enough weapon kills and other reward points to unlock funner stuff — including the RE trademark infinite weapons which always make for a fun playthrough. There's also a very fun fire knife called Hot Dogger that won't ever break and will set enemies ablaze briefly with every strike.

The gameplay is similar to Resident Evil 2 Remake yet more action packed .It's super fun and satisfying. There was not a single moment I didn't enjoy in this game, not every game needs to be long and for me who have not played the original yet and I knew about the game's length it was an excellent experience .Nemesis is terrifying ,the atmosphere is great and eerie. There is a decent enemy variety to make the experience not stale. The bossfights were really good and intense and I enjoyed that the final fight had a little more into it than waiting and getting the big ass weapon and ending it in a single shot. The areas were fantastic ,all of them .Most of all I liked roaming to raccoon city and the hospital section ,they were phenomenal. There wasn't as much backtracking ,but I'm fine with it.Worth mentioning of course are the puzzles which were enjoyable to say the least.

The cast was amazing .Jill is an amazing protagonist ,she shines way more here than she does in Resident Evil , she is probably my favourite video game protagonist along with Leon. Carlos was a great secondary character. At first I wasnt that much into playing as him ,but how can you not love this guy, I wouldn't want a Carlos-less world.Nemesis is a great antagonistic force that constantly greatly pushes the narrative .There are also more things going on,but I will avoid them cause I don't want to spoil.

The game looks amazing ,the RE engine shows once again how great it is ,the graphics look stellar.
I also need to say that the credits song was a really beautiful piece of music,it really made me feel nostalgic for some reason and warmed my heart.

Overall,I have to say that it makes me sad when people don't respect this game, because even if there are many differences with the original ,much love was clearly poured into it and it's visible. It's an amazing game that needs more love and respect. I 100% recommend this very underrated gem of a game

It just needed at least another year to iron out some rough edges. The demo pretty much featured the only time Nemesis stalks you through an open ended section. So that gave away the best thing game had to offer. I just wish the full game represented an extended version of what we got from demo.

End stage so bare & unfinished looking. It reminds me of a training tutorial grid section. Plane, but really wide open. When you run around in this place, it feels like you are walking because everything is placed so far apart from one another. Funny thing too is that the labs in RE games are usually the most decorated parts in the series. RE6 even had a compelling lab section.

RE2 Remake was a labor of love & full of fan service. Somehow they didn’t feel 3 was as much of a priority even though back in ps1 era, RE3 was better than RE2. So with remakes, the roles are reversed. At least we got the coolest versions of Jill, Nemesis, & Carlos from all this. I like everything about the new Nemesis. The mask, the voice, the attacks, his weapons, his mutations. The character artists for this game are gifted with the most amazing talent in the world. Let's just hope the RE2 Remake team is responsible for Code Veronica Remake & that they wait until time is right to give it to us. Yes, I’m in no rush to play. Just would like quality.

One way to redeem it a bit is to patch the death animations & poor collision. When you stab a corpse, it takes you out of experience so bad. I used this as a tactic in RE2 when determining whether zombie was still alive. Now its so static & the dead bodies don’t have any physics. Its like chopping invisible cardboard that doesn’t cut. .......

At worst I'd call RE3 Remake a blunder on a nearly perfect record after their redemption.

I haven't played the original, I didn't own a Playstation when Resident Evil series came to be and so I got to the series much later. I fell in love with last year's RE2 Remake and I picked up the rest of the games in the series and began to play through them. RE3 was never easily obtainable on PC though (it's not on Steam like the rest of the series for example), and I really didn't feel like pirating the game and emulating it, so I waited for the remake.

And as a newcomer, I was not disappointed. Quite the opposite actually, the single-player portion of the game is a blast. I am not sure how I feel about the fact that Nemesis is pretty much coming after you only in scripted moments, otherwise he's less of a threat than Mr. X was in RE2 Remake, but this is not a negative for me so much, because Mr. X's unpredictability messed with attempts for speedruns :D

The game is rather short, that's a valid criticism. The multiplayer part is of no interest to me, so I would have preferred to get the game at half the price, but since I was a huge fan of RE2 Remake, I coughed up the money and I don't really regret it. It's just not gonna be an instabuy for many people, but it's worth playing through definitely. It's still a smooth, enjoyable, adrenaline fueled ride with many great moments, but it won't be a 2020 GOTY contender most likely.

To me, the pacing was excellent, and every gameplay section was really cool and fun in some unique way. There was no extra boring padding or bloated feeling to the game. I took my time with the game and tried to collect as much as I could the first time around. It took me about 9 hours to complete. To me, it was a perfect length where the game didn't wear out its welcome. I'd rather the game be focused and shorter than a longer, bloated, drawn out game. Classic RE games usually tended to be shorter anyways, but because they were so tense and engrossing, they were a lot of fun. I love the Nemesis in this game. They did an excellent job on him and pleasantly surprised me. He is a badass adversary and I don't think I've played any other game where their was a villian or unique monster stalking you throughout an entire game. I felt this game was a step up from Resident Evil 2 remake and felt more complete. I loved how they mixed the environments up and had creepy indoor areas and then also bigger open areas. I loved the attention to detail in the apocalyptic areas of Raccoon City. They also did a better job with Jill and Carlos this time in relation to Leon and Claire from RE2. They seemed to have more personality and a modern one too that we can relate to without being too overly cheesy. The cinematics, controls, gameplay, audio design, graphics, and level design were all awesome. I also enjoyed how there were greater unique. creepy enemy variety this time as well as more grotesque enemies and boss encounters. The blood and gore was also very realistic and immersive. Resident Evil Resistance also seems like a good complement to the game. It seems to be of a quality product and have a decent replayability, so it helps strengthen the package. I hope Capcom continues to refine these new RE remakes as they move forward into the future and keep the excellent RE core foundational gameplay they have finally nailed again! Expand

RE3 is WAY more linear then the first two remakes and it excells in it. The controls are tighter than ever, graphics are sharp, they finally brought back the indestructible knife, difficulty felt more balanced then previous games, the dodge move works fine and boss battles were improved. This entry feels a lot more like RE4 than others (especially when playing with Carlos) and that's where the magic is.
I loved that there are fewer and simpler puzzles this time, I loved Nemesis' persistance and aggression, the scripted parts are tense as hell and the horror factor is nearly untouched throughout the entire adventure, even with its action-packed moments. Also, they finally fixed the "B-Movie" style of dialogues, upgrading the writing, enhancing characters and focusing more on a solid story.
I actually cared more for the characters and that just ramps up the tension on intense periods of the campaign.

Now, I get it, there are a lot of cuts in here and that's really bad.
Although I think RE3 benefits from cutting the overwhelming amount of puzzles that the original had, cutting things like the clock tower and Gravedigger sucked a bit of the product's life and felt really unnecessary. I liked the story's pacing, but I was left wanting... more? Especially in the ending. What the **** did that final scene means? It's clueless!
The lenght of the game did not bother me, but it doesn't have the same replayability as previous ones. RE1 and 2 were amazingly well designed, with their interconnected levels and clever enemy, puzzle pieces and items placement. This one doesn't do it as well. Also, the soundtrack is good, but not used perfectly like previous REmakes.

RE3 is not as faithful to the original as Capcom's previous releases and it's certainly the least astonishing one of the trilogy, but it still packs quite a punch! You owe it to yourself to experience this tense and powerful horror classic. There's A LOT more to like than dislike.

The previous RE remakes sure weren't exactly the old games but now good looking (thankfully). Some elements were added or completely revamped, but fans could still relate to the original works from where they were based on, whereas RE 3 stumbles by going too far on the premise of reimagining things almost killing the nostalgia factor by removing much of it's iconic elements. The new take on Brad's death is underwhelming, no clock tower (now is just background scenario), no raccoon park and no Nemesis at the Police Station. Unexplainable...but if you could overcome (or don't care about) the lack of love for nostalgic hearts, there's still a very enjoyable game to play, but sadly a short one, it last as about a single campaign from RE2 remake (5-6 hours). I do not enjoy overly long games, but it ends too soon. If they kept Clock Tower and Raccoon Park it would probably be just fine.

The RE 2 remake had different runs to elongate the playtime with unique stories. RE 3 remake fails in that regard only by sticking us with the Resistance mode, which is trash. The RE2 remake was a masterpiece and this is more of the same. The main issue is it doesn't bring anything new to the table and it's not as scary overall. Oddly enough, Nemesis is not as scary as Mr X from RE2. The constant dread just isn't there. It's more like a recurring villain like William from RE2. Perhaps that's why its not call Resident Evil 3: Nemesis like the original.

I think the game really finds it's footing once you leave the downtown area. That's when you get the "what's around the next corner" feeling. I'm a fan of Jill, but surprisingly, I found the Carlos segments to be my favorite parts of the game.
People complain about the short playtime, but i think it's just about right. Some games are so long these days. It's nice to play a game with a fully satisfying and complete story that doesn't require such a time commitment. But I get people being upset with the full $60 pricetag - which is why I waited for the sale. I can't comment on the multi player addition, but I don't really care to play it.
If they can keep this kind of quality going, I can't even fathom how good the RE4 remake will be. Let's just keep our fingers crossed.

I hate how little space you have here in resident evil 3.. sure you can find upgrade pouches, but it just never feels like enough space, especially when new guns can take up multiple spaces and even quest items take up spaces which really just shoulnt be a thing in any game… though it does add to the scarcity feeling, do I ant this ammo or do I want to keep my healing items… its just as a map cleaner, its annoying..
Overall though I enjoyed Resident Evil 3… if youre going into it expecting more resident evil 2, you wont get it..youll be disappointed in its length and more action feel..resident evil 3 like every other resident evil its its own experience and I for one like that.. Unlike Mr. X who would show up out of nowhere at any time, Nemesis's encounters are scripted, I mean there still epic, but they don't feel as surprising as Mr. X's. Overall, I feel like this game should've been DLC to RE2 the same way Uncharted The Lost Legacy was to A Thief's End, maybe if Capcom decided to release the game next year so that they can have some more time to add features, then the game would've blown RE2 out of the water. Jill is at her best here making her character feel more alive than ever and the same too Carlos their chemistry is sweet. The gameplay is exactly like RE2 remake but they’ve added a dodge mechanic which works pretty well in tough situations. Nemesis is a beast but I do wish he was as present as Mr X but at that the same time if Nemesis was as present he would pretty OP and would eventually become more annoying than terrifying but fell the times I did encounter him it was a blast. The final boss was slightly anticlimactic similar to RE7 but when I actually up the difficulty that’s when RE3 is at its best because the items are switched to different locations, zombies are faster, deadlier and Nemesis is just absolutely terrifying when the difficulty is on Nightmare mode or Inferno mode. Everything about the campaign was great I just wished it lasted 1 or 2 more hours but a 7 hour campaign didn’t really bother me as much as it did to some people, I’ve played many amazing games in the past that were just as long or shorter such as Inside, Mirrors Edge, Hellblade and. Uncharted Lost Legacy. Overall, I had a blast in RE3 story mode and I’m so glad I got to play this remake and play as my favourite character from the series again but Capcom maybe release a short single player DLC for RE3 , but overall I would give the story mode an 8.7 out of 10

    Multiplayer:

There’s not much to say about Resistance but I’m honestly enjoying it, me and my friends have been playing it for the past few days and it’s great fun and it’s nice from the mainstream multiplayer but I can imagine it slowly dying down in the future but for now I’m having fun with it and I’m not experiencing any issues with the game or bad teammates because I have a whole group of friends who know how to
Play it! But I’m sure it will die down soon and won’t get the same success as the horror multiplayer Dead by Daylight did. Overall, I give Resident Evil Resistance a 7 out of 10.

Nemesis, although being scary, didn't put me on the edge of my seat as much as Mr. X in the remake, or the nemesis in the original for that matter, the encounters with him in this game feel scripted and that doesn't make them as scary for me.
But what we got, in my opinion, despite it's flaws, is still a fun game with amazing gameplay, soundtrack and graphics and i also think some of the new additions are great.
I will be revisiting this game in the future because i had so much fun with but i don't think it's as much replayable as 2.

I enjoyed this slick action-leaning survival horror game. I've been playing Resi games for 23 years and can happily say this is a good one. While it suffers from coming in the wake of the wonderful experience that was the RE2 remake, pretty much offering more of the same, it is definitely worth playing.

The locations are memorable (especially the streets, power plant and the hospital)

The locations are memorable (especially the streets, power plant and the hospital) and it was good to switch between Jill and Carlos. I thought the boss battles were decent and varied enough. I really liked the return of the Hunters as well. It was also nice to have a siege defence sequence, a rare treat in a RE game. I would have liked more use of the mine grenades, which made a brief cameo appearance.

There are a huge amount of complaints going on about the length, but in fact there is pretty much the same amount as RE2 remake. It just doesn't have as much backtracking like in RE2's police station. And the dodge mechanic and plentiful ammo mean you can blast through very quickly, hence the embarrassingly quick speedruns. But that's not how you get the most from the game. Yes, I wish it were longer, but all the classic RE games and their remakes are pretty short.

There were a few disappointing things. Apart from near the start, and 4 boss battles Nemesis, is limited to Uncharted style scripted chases with collapsing platforms and dodging of rockets. I didn't enjoy them much.

It's a big shame they cut the clock tower and the graveyard boss. And there is nowhere near enough open exploration of Raccoon City. It's pretty much what you get in the demo. Also the main human antagonist must be the weakest and most forgettable in the series. Wesker he ain't.

Overall i enjoyed it a lot, it has some great locations and combat, and will play through again on the tougher difficulty levels.
For non-obsessives of the RE series it might be better to wait for a price drop.

With Jill being front and center for RE3, the lack of 2's separate paths is noticeable.

Taken on it's own merits, I believe the game is great, however. Jill's characterization in my opinion is the strongest it's ever been which adds tremendous life to the game. The gameplay changes, such as the dodge mechanic, suits the more action oriented experience in the streets of Raccoon City wonderfully.

    Pros:
    - Jill as a character is stronger than ever. She has great dialogue and feels like a fleshed out character
    - Gameplay feels great. The dodge mechanic adds a new way to play the game as well as the more durable combat knife rather than the degrading one from RE2
    - The story is tight and plays out at a good pace. While my playthrough only lasted 6 hours, it felt like a complete experience.
    - The visuals are gorgeous

    Cons:
    - The game isn't very long. My playthrough landed around 6 hours.
    - No additional post-game content (yet). There isn't a Part B to partake it and it's telling once the credits roll
    - Cut content from the original RE3 is a strange choice

Overall the game is worthy of an 8, in my mind. It's a great experience that would be far more appreciated with a lower than full $60 retail price. Hopefully Capcom adds additional content like the Ghost Survivors missions in RE2.

Having got this for my bday, I have to admit I had a LOT of fun with it. I'm not a one and done player, I replayed it to unlock all the extra goodies. I have only Inferno mode left to finish. That being said, 60 bucks is too much for it, 40 would be a fair price.

This game was fun to play. The story, characters and environment were all awesome but its easy to tell the game was rushed. Even the fantastic gore from Resident Evil 2 Remake was removed? I enjoyed this game a lot but it had opportunity to be so much more than what it was. Fortunately i had a lot of fun with it, but for a $60 game its disappointing compared to Re2. 84/100

As for the game itself it felt more like an action game which is something I liked about this one, my only gripe with this game is I wish the story was more longer. Some of the locations getting cut out and lack of puzzles didn't bother me at all in fact I liked the fact the puzzles was not on here because it would have disrupted the pace of the game as this was meant to be an action game like the original game tried to be.

This remake was a solid entry to the series not quite as good as RE2 remake due to it's short running time but despite that it was still a fun game to play even it is a quick one to play.

The most notorious overhaul is its gameplay, using the 3rd person perspective that the series has been using for a long time, is hard to go wrong. Even when they are slow, zombies move erratically, and it's not as easy to make headshots, so you want to take your time while dealing with them since ammunition is somewhat scarce.

The evade action is back and thankfully, it is now a unique button to activate it. Foes telegraph their movements with manageable clarity, however, a type of enemy that appears in the middle of the campaign can be unfairly punishing as it is pretty quick and their attack patterns too irregular. Nonetheless, this mechanic is useful and fun to master.

Nemesis is still a force to be reckoned with, so you will likely run from him whenever he appears or attack him with grenades to get useful loot. Since the camera is not fixed and you have better mobility, these encounters are a little easier than the original so, they also threw zombies to limit your space. I also like that all the boss battles are focused on Nemesis, and every time you beat him he's angrier in the next one, it makes this "rivalry" more organic as if Nemesis is trying to kill Jill not only because he is programmed to but because of a grudge, it’s not only better handled but it makes the plot moving forward.

I never felt like I was being stalked or chased by Nemesis ever. Each time he appeared was too obvious and unsurprising that it felt scripted, not that in the original you couldn’t tell when he was going to attack but here, the clues are way too evident. Still, his chases were fun even when you were waiting for them to start.

Normal difficulty is a little challenging but not too much to the point that you’re most likely see a few continue screens here and there, but also not so easy that you’ll be wandering around as if you owned the place. Ammunition and health items are kind of limited but I didn’t encounter a time where I needed bullets. Here’s where the new remakes try to balance horror and action and at least for this game, in particular, it is in a safe middle ground with a small lean towards action, so in the end, even when it is good, it never excels with the horror nor the action. Yet, as I say, it plays in a comfortable middle ground, so it is still a great time, just maybe a little too comfortable.

The story on this remake is more or less the same, but it has some tweaks that made it more appealing to modern sensibilities, you will also find some differences between the original and this game so “veterans” will get some new stuff too.

The length of the campaign is similar to the original: short, depending on your difficulty and your experience with this type of game you'll likely complete your first run in 7 to 9 hours, so it is a short game compared to other AAA or big studio games. The game is also "bundled" with a download for a multiplayer complement called Resident Evil: Resistance, on which 4 vs 1 player matches take place, the premise sounded interesting but playing it was another story, it didn't help that all the other players were always too experienced and I was always the novice, so I did quit after some runs. I imagine this was Capcom's way to justify a $60 USD price for a game so short, I don't prefer this type of complements as in a few years when the servers are down you will no longer get access to it, but I imagine that other people would prefer it, so that's that.

It may sound that I didn't like this game but I did enjoy it quite a lot, the things that I don't like are trivial for the most part, I'm not sure it is the definitive version to play part three of the series as it offers a lot of new stuff while cuts other from the original, but I prefer this remake better, it sure plays it safe but it also looks like a lot of the original intentions that couldn't make the cut were implemented while it maintains the original's essence. I don't think that its short campaign will appeal to everybody, but it has an arcade aura that challenges to play it faster and better that is kind of hard to not do it because of its short length, I still don't think that's enough to a $60 ticket, but I'm not an arcade person. As far as remakes go, this one might be one of the most respectful out there that also builds and propose new stuff from the source material, while maintaining its spirit. It is not hard to recommend it to both newcomers and veterans to the series, the plot is more centered on character development than its lore so is easy to pick it up and play without any before knowledge. Even when it has things I don't prefer, I like where this new direction is going and with some refinements and tweaks, I believe the future entries and remakes could achieve a true horror and action experience.

It was decent if a little short, RE2 was better so it was a bit of a downgrade. Cut content from the OG. The characters were well performed and captured though, all of them. While I was playing it I struggled to put it down so was left craving a bit more, Resistance is alright but it is let down by laggy games almost everytime. The main game is lacking though, especially on costumes

I liked the changes that they made to the original and how they made it fit in better with the Resident Evil 2 remake by showing you what happens before the events of RE2. I thought that was really cool.

I did enjoy the more linear and action orientated game play, even though I am a huge fan of the puzzle solving in Resident Evil 1 Remake and Zero and 2 etc...this was nice to still have the resource management and but with very light puzzle solving.

I definitely think this is a massive improvement over the original Resident Evil 3 and a good game for people who haven't played a Resident Evil game before to dive in and try out the easy mode.

There are lots of challenges and replay value on the harder levels for more experienced players and it's a lot of fun to play through multiple times to unlock all the extras.

Full of thrills, over-the-top combat system and tense moments that will make you jump of your chair, be it from fear or desperation, this game is really well executed as reimagining of 1999's RE3.

Nemesis is relentless, so are the rest of the enemies of the game, and played on Hardcore (as I did) you will have to be glued and really focused on what's coming at you.

When it comes to the nostalgia factor, this game is pretty amazing, be it from certain locations, the soundtrack and even personal relationships. Just like on RE2 Remake, things were reimagined, and with that I mean that things might be as they were originally or they can be displaced on another context, place or time (which worked pretty well on RE2 Remake, and so it does on this one).

The game, depending on how you play it, how many times you die and on which difficulty you choose, can take between 6 to 8 hours, which, albeit inferior to its previous predecessor, still makes for a thrilling ride where you can enjoy every minute of it and not feel that you're rushing things. Even then, though, some parts of the game can feel a bit linear and rushed, and also there can be some missing or incomplete things compared to the original game.

Storywise, the game follows the same line as the original but with more dramatic and interesting nuances, making it have a Hollywood-ish style.

Overall, I was pretty satisfied with this game, and it really put me up on my feet the whole time, never knowing what to expect next, even if I had played the original more than once. Its replayability value is also inherit, with all the collectibles and challenges that await you after finishing it the first time.

    PROS:

    - Haunting Raccoon City
    - Dynamic Combat System
    - Story, Characters and Voice Acting
    - Visuals are amazing, even better than RE2
    - Nemesis, although...

    CONS:
    - ... he could be a little bit more present.
    - Some missing or unexplored original parts that could have been better utilized
    - Dodge mechanic can become a nuisance sometimes
    - Still not being able to use Herbs when picking them up (like in RE4)

    Final Score: 8.4 / 10 (rounded to 8)
    (Initial Score: 9.0)

PS: after further replaying the game and revising my initial impression, I came to the conclusion that I was giving the game more credit than it deserves, considering the length and source material homage aspects, hence why I lowered its score.

Intro: Resident Evil 3 (Remake) is for some fans was a very underwhelming experience. However, I do not think this game is even as close to bad game or zero out of 10 like some people are making this game look to be. While this game is not as amazing as RE2 remake, this game is one of my personal favorite RE titles along with RE 1 Remastered and RE2 remake because it's a very fun experience, especially for new players.

The Good: Despite what some fans will say, this game is very fun. The combat in this game is very solid and does utilize the dodge mechanic fairly well. At first, it's a bit difficult, but once you start getting further into the game, it becomes a lot easier to use later on when dealing with enemies. Weapons and their usage are fairly similar to the RE2 remake, but items like knives are not breakable and grenades and flashbangs can not be used to get out of a zombie's grasp, making it more essential to try and not get grabbed and lose health. This game is also a lot more action-based then RE2 remake. With this game having more ammo and healing items to help aid you in highly dangerous areas in the game. Speaking of which, the areas in this game a beautiful. Using the RE Engine, this game looks incredible and made me excited to play through. Also, the monsters in this game are annoying to deal with, but in a good way. I felt very threatened while playing certain areas of the game such as the lab and hospital when fighting enemies such as the hunter betas and pale heads and they made me think twice before going out and exploring the game.

The Meh: So in this game, one of the main enemies you will encounter is Nemesis, a high intelligent tyrant that can use weapons and even transformed during the story. He is also able to do some very powerful and unique moves to try and keep the player on their guard like in an actual fight. Now while I still think he is cool in the game, he also has a very weird and unneeded weakness in his design. If you have a hand grenade on you, you can easily take him down and be able to escape to a safe area. This is not exactly great mainly because compared to RE2's Mr.X, Nemisis falls way too quickly. Also, some areas in the game where batteries and explosive drums are around can keep Nemesis off your tail which can be a bit of a bummer sometimes. However, if the player doesn't have a grenade, good luck trying to escape because other weapons can sometimes not be very useful in dealing with his movements. Another thing I would like to bring up is the missing areas in the game. While the game does have some very nice looking locations, some were not included like the park or clock tower areas. Now I looked back into these areas and honestly, the park was not that interesting and looked kind of boring with how it was set up and was probably not a great idea for this game. The clock tower, however, I do believe should have been kept in to make the game feel scarier with the giant spiders and add in the missing puzzles. The zombies here are not as gory and detailed as in RE2 which kind of sucks, but they can still be minor inconveniences for the player.

    The bad:
There are two main issues I have with this game, the length and the cutscenes. When playing this game, I felt the cutscenes took up way too much time in the game. There were so many moments in the game that I felt could have been used to create new areas to explore or be more interactive using quick time events to let the player do something during their run times. Also, the length of the game is short for modern games. I was able to get through this game in around 6 hours and that is too short for a game in this day and age and doesn't justify 60 dollars, maybe around $30 to $40. This was the perfect time to expand on the game and maybe even add new areas, but Capcom blew it a bit which sucks. Speaking of areas, seeing what the clock tower was in the original game and looking at RE3 remake, I felt that they should have included that area in this game.

Overall: Despite what some people may say, this game is very fun and not even close to bad. There are some issues like the length and cutscene runtimes, but overall is a fun entry in the series. The game does a great job of making Raccon City look a lot more different than in RE2 and does have many great moments of the gameplay. However, with issues such as the game's length being short and Nemesis not being a huge threat on lower difficulties, it does water down the game a bit and leaves more to be desired. It's not something I would recommend at full price, but around 40 to 30 dollars, this game is a great addition to play whenever you have some spare time

This game is good game. Somethings are missing, and, if you're too nostalgic, maybe this game wouldn't be great for you. Even the game being short, that's not a complaint, cause the original is too. I think, Capcom could have done a better job, but, it's fine, and deserve an eight.

    - The scenery and locations are amazing. Not as claustrophobic but incredible detailed.

    Cons

    - As almost every room and open area contains a lot of zombies, they stop to scare you and start to irritate you.
    - The game has a lack of puzzles which isn't a problem for an action focused game but is a problem for a Resident Evil title.
    - Although he may look menacing, Nemesis is easily taken care off using a single grenade or a couple of shotgun shells. Though I haven't tested if this is still relevant in the hardest difficulty, I hoped that even in standard mode he would still take a lot more punches.

    Pricetag for you

60,- or less if you are a Resident Evil reboot fan or an Action-horror fanatic
40,- or less if you are looking for a thrilling experience or simply a good story
20,- or less If you want a spooky game that doesn't soak up all your time.

    Important note.
if you've played Resident Evil 2 before playing Resident Evil 3, you will get less surprised and spooked by this one since you're already experienced dealing with the undead. It is therefor good to say to those who've played Resident Evil 2: Don't expect the same experience you had with 2. Play this as an extension to your previous experience. If you enjoyed the gameplay in Resident Evil 2, you will surely enjoy Resident Evil 3

The first thing that you have to do before playing this game is to go to "nexusmods" and download the "Jill Definitive Classic Costume". CAPCOM made a horrible job with the character design of Jill, so do yourself a favour and download the mod first.

While I loved this game, and it is nostalgia being the reason I rated so high. This game was a huge missed opportunity with how much they cut from the game.
But the game has a few downs.

    The Bad:
    1. The game is incredibly short. When I saw the trophy list to beat it in under 2 hours, I was worried. And my worry was valid. The game is way too short. They focus to much time on speed runs. If they would have dropped the speedruns, and focused on story and content, it would have boosted it to a perfect 10. The major point deduction stopping it from a perfect score was how short the game was.

    2. Nemesis Stage 2. This was a let down. Instead of getting the bad ass tentacle beast of a nemesis stage 2, one of the scariest boss fights in Resident Evil 3 ps1, we got a dog fight. I loved the game. But this fight disapointed me. I was ready for the intense battle with Nemesis. But this werewolf form running in circles was a let down. They could have saved this form for the fight in the acid pit. Which we have that same fight again, with the same tactic.

    3. The entire clock tower part was removed. That was a bit of a bummer.

    Now...
    The good:

    1. This game is beautiful. It looks amazing. It plays amazing. And it feels amazing. There are a few old school jump scares mixed with the creepy environment that really make you just enjoy the scenery.

    2. The original nemesis chance scenes are great. In the beginning, I loved the Nemesis hunt.

    3. The feel of being back in Raccoon city, and seeing the old school ps1 city brought to life was pretty awesome.

I loved Resident Evil. But they really need to bring back all the things they cut. And Merc mode! I felt a little jipped with the rewards shop.
The old school Merc Mode to get points to buy in the store would have been a lot of fun. And then, the shop had very few items in it.
    Where is the Gatling gun!?

Can we have a Resident Evil 3 Remake Remake please?

After playing the original, I bought this remake and I really enjoyed it so much. It is a new game with the same characters (they added 1 more) and some locations of the original. To be honest I miss some enemies like the spiders, the giant worm and more Drain Deimos... but I have to rate this game as a VIDEOGAME and it is a great game. As a Resident for me it still a very delightful experience. I also miss some puzzles like the ones on the st Michael Clock tower, but not everything is bad. They included epic boss fights with nemesis that they are really enjoyable (better in Hardcore mode). They did an amazing job with the atmosphere, it's way more noticeable in this game because is the start of the infection, also the story has more drama and the characters fit perfectly in the game. I didn't talk about graphics, they are not important, but they are stunning. I love the ps1 classic and also this remake. both different and with different advantages and disadvantages. I have to comment my opinion about duration... The normal duration of a classic resident evil... 5h - 6h with a good pace exploring all, and if you are new and it is difficult for you 8h or more. RE7 is shorter, and worse in some aspects (i like so much re7, just commenting) People don't be toxic, I have to rate this game as a game. Giving 0 TO EVERY GAME is not helpful for people that are going to pay money for the game. Before buy read and investigate.
    Great game,I recommend it !

This game is every bit as good as its predecesser, except for one fatal flaw: its length.

Although the game is quite a bit shorter than the RE2 Remake, I'm struggling to find ways for Capcom to add length to the game without it feeling forced or like it qould be dragging. They do a great job keeping the story moving, and no location overstays its welcome. The game is a joy to play from

They do a great job keeping the story moving, and no location overstays its welcome. The game is a joy to play from beginning to end, with a nice variety of gameplay elements to keep things interesting and fun. The game is best played on Hardcore, where the challenge and horror elements really get a chance to shine, and it helps slow the game down so you get more out of it.

The game looks just as stellar as the last one, but the music is slightly more of a classic RE style, which is welcome. Guns sound just as punchy and are still just as satisfying to use, especially when during some fun moments in the story.

All in all this is a must have for any Resident Evil fan, with the only downside being the craving for more after the credits roll. My only issue is the amount of cut content from the original game, maybe this was to help with pacing but it would have helped to pad out the game's length in some way.

This is a great game and a good remake, but it is disappointing in a few keys ways that keep it from being on par with the RE2 Remake.

The presentation, acting, gameplay and pace of the game are miles above the original. Jill Valentine is fleshed out far more as a character. Capcom has finally given Jill the attention she deserves as an iconic female hero. This game is a ton of fun; it

The presentation, acting, gameplay and pace of the game are miles above the original. Jill Valentine is fleshed out far more as a character. Capcom has finally given Jill the attention she deserves as an iconic female hero. This game is a ton of fun; it is a pure blast to play. Its tense, creepy, yet very action oriented. The soundtrack and ambience are perfect, which makes it a shame we can't explore more of Racoon City. This game isn't actually shorter than most Resident Evil games, it just feels that way because classic locations like the clock tower and park were not included, making fans of the original feel that this game is missing something. Not including the park especially is a missed opportunity because it would have been refreshing and gorgeous in the RE engine. The park and clock tower helped the original RE3 standout because they were unique locations that contrasted the series typical oppressive indoor environments.

Objectively, this is still a fantastic game though. There is a lot to love here, it's just too bad Capcom cut a few things they shouldn't have because this game easily could have been as good as the RE2 remake or better, but that is a high bar to hit. This is still a very good game and it is a loyal improvement over the original in many ways, just not all of them.

The gameplay is very good and the enviorment is amazing but the problem is that the game is too short and a lot of iconic places in the original Resident evil 3 is not there, also the original game was way longer than the remake. I recommend that you take it when there is a discount on it, it worth 30$ or even less.

Many people rate this game short. I kind of agree, but its not that short! If you play it with pace, it will take you a while to finish it (I finished it in 9h50m). Its a good game, with great graphics. Nemesis isnt as scary as Mr. X, and if we compare this game to RE2R, there is a lack of puzzles here. ThIs game is an action oriented game. Its a good game overall

Even though it is a very successful game, you will feel a little disappointed. Compared to the remake of the second game, this one often loses its pace and it is impossible to get rid of the impression that there could and should have been more to this game. [Issue#303]

After a stellar remake of an arguably the best Resident Evil game ever made, Capcom has let down our expectations by giving us a more scripted, more linear survival horror action game that will probably be forgotten like so many sequels that have gone the path of less resistance when it comes to game design. RE3 make feels more like a DLC than a full-blown game.
