I’ve played this game 3 times so far and now i felt that i’m able to score it:

Overall, if i personally was a game journalist/reviewer i wouldn’t give this sequel a 10/10 nor a 0/10 because in both cases i would be lying on myself & on the gamers!! In my PERSONAL OPINION and as a long time RE Follower this sequel should be scored by a 6/10 (Reasons: Such anticipated game was planned to be a Remake and in such case Capcom shouldn’t cut content, instead they should’ve add more)

The story is decent and the gameplay is good. However it sucks that they cut a few things out for whatever reason and that ultimately made the game shorter. It also gets a little repetitive at the end. Overall, it's sort of a lackluster experience and the game isn't worth full price because it feels more like an expansion for RE2, I recommend that you buy the game when it's on sale.

It looks great but this is a major disappointment after the phenomenal job Capcom did with RE2 Remake. It's shorter and has less replay value than RE2. Nemesis is actually a downgrade compared to Mr X. It actually has less content than the original RE3 which suffered from rushed development back in the day.

Man this game had a bunch of potential but it just seemed like the game was rushed and a bunch of stuff from the original is missing , but with what they had it wasn't that bad of a game , I actually think its quite decent actually. I also just wish Nemesis played a lot like mr.x rather than being triggered by cutscenes and pre determined chase scenes and linear scenes

First things first, the game is very linear and always holds the player's hand, especially in the first few hours, you literally just walk forward to watch cutscenes and interact with some things now and then.

It's almost identical to Resident Evil 2 Remake in so many ways, and not in a good way, some areas are literally copy pasted, and there's no innovation. Also it's not very scary, the hospital section is a bit creepy and has a nice dark atmosphere, but some of the puzzles are quite tedious.

What I liked the most is the core gameplay, it's overall an enjoyable game, the shooting feels satisfying, and the evade mechanic helps a lot, Jill's movement is perfect and works well with the gameplay mechanics.

The characters are okay, I really liked Jill, she's very cute and badass, and her animations look smooth and adorable, she's pretty much the star of the show. Carlos is a cool companion and he has the stronger weapons, playing as him made the game more fun.

Backtracking felt nice, the areas are a bit short but there's a good amount of exploration, you can find collectibles, resources, notes that give the story more depth and just random small little secrets.

It's worth mentioning that the story is sadly very uninteresting, incredibly short, predictable with a terrible antagonist, and a lot of cut content. Lastly, Nemesis is unfortunately just some scripted sequences, and the boss fights are very disappointing. I really like his new design and voice though, he looks menacing and scary.

In the end, I really wanted to like this game, and I kind of did... I mean, my thoughts about it are mostly positive, but it could've been so much more. Regardless, I had a good time playing though it even though it has some serious flaws.

    Final Rating: "Decent" ~ 6/10.

However the biggest issue is the with the length of the story. It will last you 5-6 hours AT MOST here. Even searching out every item and backtracking all the time to collect the stuff you need to move forward doesn't do much to help the length of the game. Especially since a ton of content from the original game has been cut to help the games flow I guess is the reason they're giving. Its extremely disheartening since they're selling this as a full price game when there's barely enough content for a 30 dollar game, no matter how good the actual gameplay is here. Basically, if you're not into the multiplayer they slapped on here to give it more content then there's very little reason to buy this game now, especially with so many other titles coming out at this point. It's really too bad since the actual game itself is pretty good. But there's no way I would recommend even the most hardcore RE fans to buy this until it drops to about the 20 dollar range. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I do appreciate this game, but not without some faults. Yes the beginning of the game was great the first time, but it only annoys me after repeated playthroughs, the amount of cutscenes I'm forced to skip to get to the "meat" of the gameplay doesn't feel fun.

I am indifferent on the "feel" of the city, at times it feels alive... er undead, dead, and just really gamey.
There are parts where they just shoved zombies outside of a fence that you cant get over there to fight them, so you just run past without a care in the world, and it's very blatantly obvious that they failed on the tension front because of that. Overall, zombie placement outside is just poorly done.

Resistance is worthless to me, I have almost never liked any Resident Evil online mode, EXCEPT for Operation Raccoon City, and that's sad.

It's also terribly short. I've completed the game in 04:40 for the first run. I'ts a rushed up game made to board the hype train generated by RE2R and there's A LOT OF COPY AND PASTE from that game. It's clear that CRAPCOM never had any respect for the third installment of the series as they have for 1 and 2. the linearity, the emptiness, the fast foward and inconsequent action, the excess of cutscenes, the lack of great enemy distribution and super generous ammo offering and lack of replayability leave sthe player with a lackluster feeling. And all that could have been.

Resident Evil 3 remake feels like a rushed cash grab off of the curtails of RE2make's success. As you play you just cannot shake the feeling that it could have been so much more than what it is. After the first hour or so you will find that it feels more like a trimmed down RE2make. All the aspects of RE2make which made it shine have been dulled down.

With Nemesis you never feel that you are being tracked down and hunted like you did with Mr. X. He appears in staged "events" and is gone almost as fast as he appeared. Many of the same locations from RE2make are seen again and they feel more like fan service than plot progression, answering questions no one asked.

Graphically speaking it does not look bad. But, it also does not look that much improved over RE2make. Many of the assets are identical to those found in RE2make. You will be fighting the exact same 6 zombies you fought in RE2make over, and over, and over. The later iterations of Nemesis do look awesome. And I really do like the look of the hunters. But just about every other enemy feels like a rerun.

The story and presentation feel like Michael Bay and J. J. Abrams wrote/directed it. It is all bang and flash eye candy with little substance and a heavy dose of the "just so happens." No matter what situation you find yourself in the solution "just so happens" to be not far away. The plot is thin and predictable and never captivates the player. There are no twists that you won't see coming a mile away. Ultimately, and quite possibly the biggest sin, it gets boring and derivative.

As far as game play goes there has only been a couple tweaks to the RE2make formula. The addition of the dodge is nice as well as the knife no longer having durability. But, it feels like the damage the knife does do has been reduced when compared to the durability knives from RE2make. If you are a fan of the puzzle aspects found in the original Resident Evil trilogy you will be sorely disappointed. If there are puzzles they are so mundane and trivial that you will not even recognize them as a puzzle.

The package as a whole feels more like a larger DLC content patch than it does a stand alone game. So, Is RE3make bad? No, not at all. It is playable and even enjoyable. But I can't help feeling disappointed when I think of what re3make could have been.

This was tough to judge, but ultimately I feel that Resident Evil 3 is simply the sum of its parts and that some of those parts fall short as it is. This is a great game to buy on sale and play over a weekend (or possibly one day) and probably never feel the urge to return to it.

I don't usually like to bring up pricepoints in reviews, but for some reason it's unavoidable in this game.

I don't usually like to bring up pricepoints in reviews, but for some reason it's unavoidable in this game. Maybe it's the stunning visuals, sometimes marred by obvious and awful flaws. Maybe it's the fantastic area designs which impress at first but are systematically abandoned by the game before they can truly charm. Or maybe it's the misuse of Nemesis, who from the beginning is so nerfed that I literally never once worried about him.

This could have been something special, if not on par with last year's phenomenal Resident Evil 2. Even as a brief, spin-off adventure, it could have succeeded if it committed more to its ideas. But as it is it seems they may have decided to play it safe at the last minute. The game decidedly feels not just the usual "unfinished" or "unpolished" but downright amateurish and unprofessional. It would not surprise me to learn that this game was made by a junior team. I don't hate it, but I'm never ordering this dish again.

Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil 2 remake set the series back in the right direction. They slowed down the gameplay and brought back the puzzle solving and inventory management without tank controls and smoother more satisfying action. Resident Evil 3 has pretty much no puzzles. The downtown section of the game is the closest the game comes to replicating Resident Evil 2. After that the entire game is pretty much on rails. Nemesis only appears for scripted linear chase sections or boss battles. I think we had an expectation that Nemesis would loom around as we tried to solve puzzles like Mr X. Instead he shows up at predictable times and doesn't bring much tension. I am fine with the character redesigns Jill is fine as **** Carlos looks kind of silly with his curly ass hair but its fine. The dialogue is cheesy but I like it. They try to inject more action and enemies into the game which doesn't work too well with the gun play. It worked better in Resident Evil 2 with less enemies but with more enemies to fight it is just a chore. They cut out significant chunks of the game too which is baffling to me. This game gives me PTSD flashbacks of Resident Evil 6 which cut out everything but linear action gayness. Pick this up for like 20 dollars or just play RE2 again. Expand

Hot damn, after the awesome ride that was RE2 Remake, this game is a disappointment in almost every way. It's not very surprising to me considering this game came out only a year after RE2R. These guys actually had the balls to bundle a Multiplayer RE game that no one asked for (complete with loot boxes and purchasable currency) alongside a botched version of one of the greatest survival horror games ever made. That is just criminal and is an insult to the people who grew up with this game. As if Resistance is supposed to justify the $60 price tag for the lack of content that's in Resident Evil 3 (you can beat the game in 4-5 hours for god sake). Let me just go down the list of just how much is missing from RE3 and it's quite shocking.

    - No Mercenaries

    - No explorable Clock Tower (you only see it during a fight against Nemesis)

    - No City Park

-No scene where Brad gets mutilated by Nemesis (in fact you don't visit the R.P.D. as all as Jill)

    - No Gas Station segment (you only see it for like 10 seconds)

    - No Pharmacy (when you meet Nicolai for the first time)

    - No Cemetery

    - Nemesis missing one of his transformations

    - Nemesis only appearing during scripted moments instead of randomly like in the original, and he goes away once you reach a specific area, which means that when he does appear it's just as terrifying as it should be

    - Missing weapons like the Mine Launcher, 4 shot Rocket Launcher, the M37 Lever Action Rifle, and the Gatling Gun. You can customize the pistol and shotgun with attachments to give them better performance but they don't turn into new guns from getting parts by knocking out Nemesis like in the original. In fact you don't get any special items like the First Aid Box.

    - No critical choice picking (scripted moments where you have to make a quick decision that can alter cutscenes and the ending which increases replay value)

    - Only ONE ending (Jill and Carlos escaping on the helicopter)

    - No spiders, crows, bloodsucking worms

    - No Grave Digger boss fight

    - Lack of interesting puzzles

    - No Nicolai Helicopter fight

    - Lack of RNG (enemies and items that appear in areas in the original game differ between playthroughs, but in the remake, everything now is scripted, and it's the same enemies and items in the same placements every time, which hurts replay value)

    - Also this might be a nitpick to some but I just hate the sound design of the weapons. Listen to the sound effects in the original, they're amazing even by today's standards, but now in the remake every gun sound like airsoft guns

There might be other issues that I missed so if I did I apologize in advance.

There are some good things though

+ Carlos has a bigger role this time around which is great
+ Nemesis looks and sounds incredible
+ Final boss fight was awesome
    + It looks pretty

But, that's all I can really say about it. Seriously, I don't understand what they were thinking when they released this. All they had to do was take the original PS1 game that we all know and love, and give it a modern look, while also expanding on certain elements like in RE2R. And after making constant comparisons between this and the original, this just feels like a lazy cash crab, probably why they released it so early in this state so now Capcom is probably gonna fix it with DLC like what Square did with Final Fantasy 15 and Kingdom Hearts 3.
Why play this for $60 when you can just grab your dusty PS3 and download the original game for 5 bucks? The remake is worth $20 at best. I was really gitty for the first 1-2 hours, but by the end I felt quite frustrated. This is my 2nd favorite RE game in the franchise, and this is how they pay homage to the fans? What the actual **** Capcom.

I feel ripped off. I paid $60 for what felt more like a 3-hour RE2 DLC. There were no improvements to inventory, weapons, etc. In fact, there were downgrades. Way too short, and much of it was linear, practically on rails. There’s a ton of potential, but potential doesn’t count. The game is a lot of fun to play through and experience it but I really don't think it can justify its the price. I took my time with the game and finish it in 5 hours. After beating it there isn't much to do except if you like to unlock special weapons and try to beat it on higher difficulties and the side game resistance is fun to mess with but I don't see people returning to it after a short while.

I expect more for this remake and it could been so much more. It's really disappointing that Capcom rushed this release.

RE3 is when the series became more action packed so understand it is slightly different than RE2, but this game fails at keeping the same technical quality and development quality of RE2 remake, a game that came out over 1 year before this. I clocked in 5 and 1/2 hours game time from Start to Finish, not just endgame playtime. Gameplay wise it fails at recreating the experience with modern technology. Nemesis is a plot device and not a game mechanic, areas were cut or dumbed down, and even compared to the original it has become more streamlined. My favorite part is when zombies explode into a wet squishy noise because the game cant technically handle all the corpses on screen, something RE2R was able to handle. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is the first Resident Evil game I've completed and I have to say it was kind of disappointing. Before i get into this review, i know people won't like this review because I haven't played the original so I don't know what it's like but if i played the original, people will say I was blinded by nostalgia and that's why I couldn't enjoy it. Before I start, I will spoil some parts of the game, so if you really want to play without spoilers, then skip this review.

Let me start off by saying this game wasn't bad, but it wasn't that good either. Nemesis was the thing that disappointed me the most, with his scripted events not really doing anything for me, just annoying me. It started off well, with him showing up at the very beginning really caught me off guard. But after that, i never felt intimidated by him. When he did show up, he was stupidly easy to take down, getting knocked down by a single grenade. The rooftop fight was my favorite encounter with Nemesis but I feel like it was too easy as well. The hardest part of the game of for me was the Hunter Beta in the hospital with Carlos. But after you take control of Jill again, it only takes a few shotgun shells to put them back down. The sewer section was really bad, with the constricted space making it hard to take the Hunter Gamma's. They were easy to take down, but the limited space you're given is idiotic. The hospital section was boring as hell, which was Carlos, looking around for a vaccine to give to Jill. The inventory was also a problem for me, I always felt like I had tons of spaces but never had enough room for everything. The game also gives you tons of ammunition to the point where you'll most likely discard tons of it or have tons in your item box.

I could go on and on about other things but I'd be nitpicking at that point. I could say the final fight with Nemesis was a glorified cut scene or how i didn't like how Brad died, but I won't because those feel like nitpicks and I don't want to talk about things that dumb. The last thing I'll say about this game is that it feels like like a $40 game, with a $20 dollar multiplayer add-on that doesn't need to be there.

This was one of the main games I was looking forward to this year. Unfortunately, Capcom doesn't care about the actual fans of this franchise. They cut content to push the game out the door faster and censored several aspects to please people that don't have any intention of playing it. Could have been a much better game.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. After playing to completion in just under 5 hours with 11 deaths I feel this game lacks the same draw and appeal that its predecessor brought to the fan base. I have played Resident Evil 2 remake multiple times and this new release does not compare in many aspects. RE3 remake does bring with it a more action orientated approach with the dodge mechanic and the more aggressive and agile Nemesis when he appears but the story flies along and seems more of an afterthought than a critical part of the game. There has been changes from the original game to locations to make them feel more modern with little twists such as Carlos being the one to enter the police station instead of Jill. But the omission of the clock tower area with the substitute being a boss battle with stage 2 Nemesis around a roundabout in front of said clock tower felt cheap and it was things like this that cheapened the experience along with the knowledge that the game can be completed in under 2 hours (trophy/achievement details this) that made this seem a little cash grabby. Overall if you are a fan of the Resident Evil series you will no doubt enjoy this retelling of the PS1 classic but if like me you played the classic when it originally released you may be slightly disappointed, especially when compared to last years RE2 remake. I think Capcom would have saved some criticism if they had released this as a stand alone expansion for £25 or pushed back the release and expanded on the story not reducing it. Expand

The game is empty, does not rescue the essence of its predecessor and also leaves a lot of things out of the original, also does not innovate leaving the game without identity, the horror and suspense are not there, everything looks like a movie, remembering resident evil 6. The bright spot is Carlos and Jill with more personality, and the graphics and reused gameplay from their antecessor.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. SPOILERS! As much as this game isn't really good, do play it before reading, please. =)

It really pains me to give this game so low of a score, as I was expecting to have this be my new favorite game of all time, but this game really broke my heart. The original RE3 from -99 is my all time favorite game and I was soooo looking forward to seeing how they've remade it, especially after the fantastic remake of RE2.

-The game looks great, which is honestly and sadly the main driving force for it in my opinion.

-I think Jill was remade quite nicely (as are the other characters), though as much as I like a determined, bad-ass antagonist, I think she kind of overdid it. It took much of the respect and terrifyingness away from Nemesis when Jill kind of trash-talks at him. Best example of that is how Jill just throws out the iconic "you want stars? I'll give you stars." at him at the beginning part. It felt more like a meme for loss of better words here.

-The pacing feel off and hollow. Why does the same Nemesis that smashed through the wall of my home be stopped by a pile of rubble blocking the doorway. And especially the same Nemesis now armed with a rocket launcher stop his pursuit when a sliding door is shut in front of him? The scripted chase sequences feel like they stop to a wall when they are over. At the beginning when Jill had just escaped from Nemesis in her apartments, instead of continuing to run away she just stops by to chat with Brad right in front of the same apartment where Nemesis is.

-The gunplay, even though it's quite good, but why doesn't it feel as satisfying as in RE2 Remake? Did anyone else notice how the enemies feel less responsive to getting hit, and also like the ragdoll effects feel lesser too. I swear I saw many zombies fall down exactly the same and kind of "wrong" after being shot down. Anyone?

-I absolutely hated to new UI additions. The large icons showing above items when you get near them looks really awkward, I think. And also the X-button (PS4 here) pressing sequences that show up here and there. RE2 Remake had a really gorgeous and quite minimalistic UI which I liked.

At this point I'm seeing how I compare this so much to RE2 Remake. But I don't think it's too far-off to had hoped that this entry would have been at least equal and not less than it's predecessor. Especially considering they were being developed side by side.

-Imagine how cool it would have been to have the already existing groundwork of Mr.X's AI from REmake 2 mixed with the fantastic design of Nemesis. That would have been the best! Instead we got a handful of scripted sequences with him. Like come on, he's such an iconic and central character to the whole story. Why is he so downplayed?

-Also about Nemesis. To be honest, I really loved his redesign here. Meaning his first form of course, becase what the hell is up with his second form? Suddenly is he a dog or something? For me the essence of Nemesis has always been this unstoppable hulking monster, like Terminator. Now suddenly he's running on all fours and leaping around cars and walls? His second form was so great in the original and I couldn't have waited to see how he would have been in a proper remake.

-Obviously the huge amount of cut content. What the hell happened? Did the development team honestly cut like 80% off the original areas for any good purpose? And also if cut, what did they replace them with? Nothing? The places that we got here barely resembled the source material. I read another review here which pointed how Raccoon City looks more like Las Vegas with it's over-blasted neon signs now and I agree.

-Dead Factory from the original was such a cool, creepy place and they decided to cut it and replace it with a generic Resident Evil movie-esque laboratory. Don't get me wrong, NEST from REmake 2 was awesome, but this NEST2, come on. Firstly, what's with the name? Why is it 2? Is it because it's the second laboratory we see. But that doesn't make any sense. Also it really felt like a forced in RE Resistance add. The sequence with Jill running around the laboratory warehouse searching for fuses while Nicholai monitors here makes absolutely no sense and felt ridiculous and out of place.

-What was up with the whole antivirus plot they did in the end part. Who was Jill trying to get the antivirus for? As far as I saw it, everyone in Raccoon City was already turned or dead by then. What use would have an antivirus had anymore by then.

Gahh, I'm just going on and on... Geez, I'm just so bummed out. I would have really loved to love this game, and I think we all would have deserved a proper remake of such a magnificent classic game. Oh well, now I'm looking forward to the future and a chance for a proper remake of RE3, done by Capcom's Division 1 with the same love and care that they showed to RE2, and NOT by M-Two anymore, please!

Terrible level design it shows that they just focused on the highlights of RE Nemesis 99’, comparing it to RE 2 Remake this game felt so empty and boring at times by making zombies bullet sponges, and annoying tasks so the game lasts longer. Just by comparing it with the original the puzzles were much better or at least entertaining.

Nemesis wasn’t as good as Mr. X almost as if the complaints about him made them downgrade the chase system and skipping his tentacle mutation. The most enjoyable part of the game is the beginning and it’s just 1/4 of the game.

Boss fights weren’t fun, just gimmicky and wonky.
The camera had the worst angle close-up when fighting a boss made it so annoying at times.

The city felt so empty and again just focusing on the highlights of the original, the time you spend in the city is ridiculous I liked better the unlocking of each section, RE 2 Remake was more faithful in this aspect. I have to say RE 3 is my favorite game of all time and this wasn’t nearly as good as RE 2, I’m so disappointed.

IMPORTANT NOTE: My first playthrough was on Hardcore mode and I finished it in 6 Hours.

Overall an entertaining experience with cool “action packed moments” but a disappointment with the execution of level design and progression, the cinematic experience is good but it would’ve been fun if you at least played the way to the hospital, and sadly that’s pretty much the game “A good looking disappointment”.

And to CAPCOM please make this kind of games in-house, you’ve seen how well did RE 7, RE 2 Remake and Devil May Cry V everyone was happy and at least you felt like those 60 dollars were worth spending.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. In the wake of Resident Evil 2's remake, I was actually pretty optimistic about this game, but not only does it not live up to the same standard, it seems like a ton of corners were cut and the game, unfortunately, was mostly a low-effort cash grab. Don't get me wrong, it's a very pretty game, and has great sound, but that's about where my praise ends.

Some of the basic complaints I have:

-Huge amount of cut content from the original

-Dead Factory (which was one of the best parts of the original imo) replaced by yet another generic lab setting, so they could re-use more assets from 2's remake.

-Knife no longer has durability, but also is nerfed to the point of near pointlessness, i.e. can't dismember zombies, does far less damage, etc.

-"Dead" zombies in the environment which are scripted to get up and come after you after whatever trigger point can't always be preemptively disposed of. In other words, you can shoot them, and they won't react, but will just activate after a story beat regardless. This never happened in 2.

-Absolute lack of puzzle elements. The closest thing we have in this are a couple of maze-like sections to find mcguffins. One of them full of infinitely respawning mobs that just endlessly harass you, and magically spawn right next to you when you're forced to interact with a story object that has a long interaction time.

-The boss battles are just awful. I can't even. Not difficult, but just boring. Playing ring-around-the-rosie with one boss who literally can't touch you as long as you just run tightly around the center of the boss arena waiting for him to do his mechanic so you can damage him is just... boring. It's not fun.

-JIll's characterization. She's not the down-to-earth Jill we all know anymore, no... now she's "updated" for a "modern audience," which basically means she's a needlessly snarky "womxn" who has to shoot down anything any man says to her. In other words, insufferably obnoxious.

-It really does seem just unfinished to the Nth degree. I have to wonder how much better it would have turned out if they hadn't attached their uninspired pet multiplayer project to it and instead used all of that budget toward the main game instead.

I can go on, but it's just not worth it. Buyer beware. If you're a megafan of the series, you may enjoy it for its novelty (or hate it for all the missed opportunities,) but even then, I'd wait until it was deeply discounted.

I will start by saying I went into this with low expectations after seeing they literally copy and pasted zombies from RE2 remake. I would give this game a 5 and here's why.

Resident Evil 3 2020 is not a bad game- or even a bad Resident Evil game. This game is way better than Resident Evil 4-5-or 6 at least in terms of staying away from pure action ( which this franchise needs to do). I

Resident Evil 3 2020 is not a bad game- or even a bad Resident Evil game. This game is way better than Resident Evil 4-5-or 6 at least in terms of staying away from pure action ( which this franchise needs to do). I would replay this game.

With that said. Re3 is not a remake- it's a re imagining of resident evil 3: nemesis 1999- and a poor one at that. They have cut out so much content- so many iconic areas- so many NEMESIS ENCOUNTERS- that it's not even funny. They cut the grave digger boss- little worm enemies- spiders- crows- about 90% of the nemesis encounters. You see the nemesis out in the world ( when you actually have the ability to explore and not just run away) a total of two times. The nemesis does drop items like in the original- but since you can only fight him 2 times in the world- and once when you're leading him away from the shelter ( a running segment) it literally amounts to a maximum of 3 drops. The final drop being shotgun shells. Pathetic. The areas that were cut: Restaurant- Press office- 90% of the alley ways and buildings in the original- Clock Tower- City Park- Graveyard- Dead Factory- and I'm sure there are others. The story deviates significantly from the original- Resident Evil 2 remake was great in part because it stuck to a horror theme while also loyally sticking to the source material. The story is essentially identical to Resident Evil 2 1998 with a few things added or removed.
I honestly get sick and tired of people saying well Resident Evil 3: Nemesis 1999 was more action oriented than resident evil 2- because it wasn't- not really. It had more action in the sense of fighting or fleeing nemesis - but played really like any resident evil game before it. I doubt the people who make this claim have ever really played the original games. The amount of action in this new Resident Evil 3 game compared to resident Evil 2 remake feels more like the difference between Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2 (night and day- with the latter being more like an arcade game) than the difference between Resident evil 2 1998 and Resident evil 3 1999.

Before the game came out Capcom bragged about improving Mr.X AI- that you'd be free to explore the city and that he'd pop out randomly ( like xenomorph from Alien Isolation) - as well as expanding on certain character stories and roles. None of this happened.

While I don't believe this game is absolute **** ( deserving a 3 or below) it is a ****ty Resident Evil 3 remake- not to mention it was lazily done and rushed ( all zombies were literally copy and pasted from RE2 remake). I doubt anyone will even read this submission but those are my thoughts.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As someone who played the original this new version is a step down on so many levels, the game is a very good game but takes away almost everything that made Resident Evil 3 what it was. Raccoon City is almost non existent in this version of RE3, Nemesis is also almost non existent and is only really used for scripted chase scenes, so many locations and puzzles from the original game are removed which take away from the exploration and leave you feeling underwhelmed. This game is also really short which could be due to them cutting so much content from the original which really makes me wonder why that was done in the first place. Unfortunately this is just another case of Capcom giving us what we didn’t ask for, we asked for a remake just like how the 2002 remake of Resident Evil 1 was and instead they gave us “reimaginings” that have less than the originals. This makes me nervous for any future “remakes” that we may get. If you have never played the original games then you may like this game a lot, but if you are going into this as someone who played the original you may come away disappointed. Expand

The game is so short that most players will beat in around 6 hours

Nemesis was nothing compared to Mr. X as far as horror, and he made me laugh aloud a couple of times by just how goofy it all was. There were moments of progression pause that were beyond frustrating. One takes plays in the hospital, where you have to defend a room from waves of zombies, and the other is the end. And how the hell can she lift that damn thing? (not mentioning what, to keep spoilers out)

It all sounds great until you scratch the surface away. Resident Evil 3: Remake suffers in a similar, if worse, way as the original did (the original is by far my favourite game from its trilogy): a lack of any real care. Where 2 was painstakingly built, 3 cheaply reuses, butchers, and churns out just what it needs to deliver and nothing more. 3: Remake takes those things and regresses them further, removing fan-favourite sections of the game and reducing its main and iconic villain of Nemesis to an unexciting annoyance.

Jill, probably the most underutilised core character, deserved better.

I just played the original RE3 about a year ago to remember how amazing that game was and its holding until this day for being one of the best horror survival game of all times just like the original RE.

This RE3 Remake has nothing of what made the original great. Nemesis is a child joke here. The game is more action than survival. There is no soul to the game. They made it fast without thinking just for easy cash grab. I guess Crapcom still Crap....

There's none of the freedom of exploration we had in RE2 Remake. In that game, there was enough in the police station segments to be enjoyable, where you could tackle most of the objectives in any order you wanted. And Mr X was at least an attempt at a boss that dynamically stalks you. I expected they would have built upon this foundation with Nemesis, where he stalks you throughout the city while you are trying to avoid him and get **** done.

RE3 railroads you from start to finish and every Nemesis encounter is scripted. So replay ability is out the window or any chance of surprise encounters during a 2nd play through. It's predictable, too.

They're dialing back the original formula again and are bringing it more in line with RE6 on rails shooter **** which I loath.

To Capcom: Keep your games in development for longer if you have to if it means you can deliver a fully fleshed out experience. Rushing out a game; especially a highly anticipated and loved game such as RE3 will not do you favors in the long run. As a long time fan of the series, and as someone who enjoyed RE2R last year; this was a disappointment and I'll be more hesitant to purchase your future titles.

After a stellar remake of an arguably the best Resident Evil game ever made, Capcom has let down our expectations by giving us a more scripted, more linear survival horror action game that will probably be forgotten like so many sequels that have gone the path of less resistance when it comes to game design. RE3 make feels more like a DLC than a full-blown game.
