    Just like the original series...the higher the number, the lower the Survival Horror and higher the action (until 7 which reset the balance)

    Don’t compare it to 2 remake...not fair...it’s a different game with different origin. Even the original 3 was considered short.     Dont usually leave a review but this definitely deserves more praise than 6.1, I would give it at least an 8 but giving it a 10 to counter the 0's. Not as good as re2 but still pretty decent

    Llevo jugando todas los juegos de Resident Evil y honestamente este remake se me hizo una buena forma de proporcianarle frescura. Quizá quiten partes icónicas pero si lo vemos desde un punto de vista distinto es un juego muy bueno. En cuanto a la duracion quizá si sea bastante corto pero hasta el original lo era y vaya que es el que dura menos de la saga. Dejen su hate y disfrutenlo

    adorei o game, tem muitos fãs toxicos que reclamam de tudo, mas o game é maravilhoso, quem quer um jogo muito bom e pra se divertir, esse é o game certo. Pra mim, a capcom acertou em nao fazer um ctrl+c e ctrl-v do classico, se for pra pagar em um jogo, que seja um jogo novo.

    I wanted to judge this game myself since I’m a big fan of the original and after I finished beating it I literally was like I feel sorry for the people who won’t get to enjoy it

    Just finished the game and thought it was awesome. It's a little short, but I do plan on replaying it a few times to get all the unlocks. There are some things cut from the original, but then there are also things added to this remake. Anytime content is changed the sore losers come out to give 0's, just go play the original. Mercenaries mode, which everyone keeps **** about, will be added in DLC, just like the mercenaries mode they added to RE2 remake.     It's a great remake like its predecessor. It's short but amazing game. I have already played it 3 times and I never feel bored. The environment is better than I expected and nemesis scarier than ever. it's a full package.

    Great fun and the perfect complement to the RE2 Remake. While the main campaign is a little short the additional difficulties and added Resistance game do make up for it. If you enjoyed RE2 then you’ll enjoy this.

Is it as good as RE2 remake? Probably not. Is it a 0 or a 1 out of 10? Absolutely not! It's still a great game with plenty of moments that will keep you on the edge of your seat. One criticism I agree with is it's a bit short and should have been priced accordingly. Then again, RE3 original was a pretty short game, I remember beating it with my mates in under 4 hours when I was 9 or 10.… Expand

    Absolutely amazing! Close to the original, yet different. Dark, menacing, dreading, hopeless Badass! I fell the tragic feelings that a true survival horror masterpiece would deliver. Beautiful game, Capcom. I love everything about it. Well done. Props to you, Capcom!

    An unbiased review of RE3make from someone who hasn’t played the original game since he was a child and thus has no real nostalgic tie to it as he does the other RE games: It’s **** great and a total BLAST to play! The gameplay is seamless; the tension and atmosphere are palpable (especially in Carlos’s sections); the environments are beautifully realized and packed with detail; the newAn unbiased review of RE3make from someone who hasn’t played the original game since he was a child and thus has no real nostalgic tie to it as he does the other RE games: It’s **** great and a total BLAST to play! The gameplay is seamless; the tension and atmosphere are palpable (especially in Carlos’s sections); the environments are beautifully realized and packed with detail; the new character models are all sexy as hell; the music is gorgeous; and the story, including the alterations, is brilliant and refreshing, and so **** exciting! I understand why many RE fans may miss the locations and enemies from the original game that were excised in this remake, but I don’t personally miss them. (Although, I could have done without ANOTHER (however brief) sewer section.) The only criticisms I might have, are: 1. Nemmy is underutilized and somehow less intimidating than Mr. X. The encounters with him are intense, but they’re mostly scripted and it’s surprisingly easy to shake him off in the few sections of the game where he actively follows you throughout a level. (I played on Standard difficulty, my first round—Hardcore is next!) 2. The exploration is sadly limited. Levels and environments are mostly linear, with a few buildings and alleys to explore for some goodies. Other than that, it’s a straight shot to each destination, which is somewhat disappointing. It doesn’t at all break my experience, because this game is far more hectic and action-packed than the second remake, but it would have been so nice to explore a sprawling Raccoon City again! 3. The puzzles are traded out for “Turn on four _______” missions. RE2make also had a severe lack of puzzles, but it had a lot more than RE3make, which has close to none. Maybe puzzles in a game as action-packed as RE3make would have ruined the pacing, but I would have liked a few more than are present. That’s it! Those are all the negative things I have to say about this game and I can’t wait to play it again and again, as I’ve done every other entry!… Expand

    I love the new remake of resident evil 3 when I first played this it take me 8 hours to beat no matter if the game is long or short it’s still a awesome experience in the new RE Engine and I can’t wait for a resident evil 4 remake or a code Veronica remake overall it’s a Great remake S.T.A.R.S

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. As a longtime RE fan. I loved the RE2make last year and dumped a lot of time into it. I was super excited and not surprised given the success of RE2 that Capcom would release a remake of RE3. And it does not disappoint at all. 1.) Length and Replay Value- Do not listen to all the salty “fans” on these other reviews saying the campaign is too short to justify a $60 price tag, in my opinion that’s wrong. I spent 8 1/2 hours playing through my first run on hardcore which is a solid length for an RE game. My first play through of RE2 remake took me 7 hours for Part A and 2 1/2 hours for part B. So it’s just barely longer than RE3. With the inclusion of unlockable content including an in game shop that sells game altering items and costumes. As well as a new difficulty called Nightmare that shuffles enemy placement and item placement the replay value is high in the RE3 remake.

    2.) Nemesis- I keep hearing Nemesis is completely scripted now. He was in the original too so I don’t understand that complaint. Nemesis is way more intimidating this time around compared to the original. He will cut you off, sprint after you, and pull you to him Scorpion style. Mr. X was intimidating at first in RE2 remake but once you knew his limited move set and how easily avoidable he was he became more of a nuisance. Becoming a road block keeping you from doing the next objective (looking at you RPD Library). Nemesis on the other hand becomes the objective when he is on screen. Down him and you will be rewarded handsomely. Nemesis encounters are set pieces to drive the story forward rather than a road block that was intimidating at first but quickly wore down its welcome like Mr. X. Capcom made the right choice keeping Nemesis scripted. Having Nemesis constantly stalk you at certain times like Mr. X would have been annoying.

    3.) Main Characters - Jill is a badass protagonist in RE3 remake and way more fleshed out due to her having PTSD from the Mansion incident in RE1. I liked her voice actress too. She had some funny one liners as well as some serious weighty moments with Carlos and with Nikolai. One scene in particular that stands out to me is when Jill first meets Nikolai and Nikolai promptly shoots and kills a comrade whom he believes is in infected. Jills voice actress and the the motion capture on this scene had me totally invested.

    Carlos character is the biggest departure from original RE3. His character and look was dorky in OG RE3 but has been replaced with a suave, smooth talker in the RE3 remake.

    Jill and Carlos chemistry is on point and I loved all of their interactions in the cut scenes and walkie talkie conversations.

    4.)Gameplay - Gunplay is tight and responsive. Jill and Carlos feel agile and more fluid than Leon or Claire with the included addition of the dodge mechanic you feel better prepared to take on the zombie hordes roaming Raccoon City.

    5.)Graphics/Animation- Jill and Carlos hold and aim their weapons in a professional manner. Which might not mean a whole lot to most players but I love accurate representation of tactics and movements, these characters are elite and they should look and feel the part. Where to start with graphics? The RE engine is a powerhouse, the facial expressions are amazingly realistic, giving you the feeling that these characters are real and you want them to survive.

    The lighting is superb especially on the streets of RC and in the hospital. Some textures and decals look a little blurry but that’s just a small gripe. The cutscenes are well made, movements are realistic and lip movement is perfectly in sync. Feels like you’re watching a movie. I Didn’t think it was possible but RE3 really does look better than RE2 and I thought RE2 looked fantastic.

    6.) Audio- Although I was a little disappointed that the RE3 original soundtrack wasn’t included like the RE2 OST was with the deluxe edition of RE2. I was still kept on edge by the ambient noise. Tension is the name of the game here and this game deserves to be played with a nice pair of surround sound headphones or 7.1 surround sound system. You can hear zombies moan in the distance, water dripping, winds blowing outside. Gun shots sound heavy and feel like they have real weight behind them, especially the Glock 18. The star of the soundtrack is the little things and it’s all incredibly subtle, I played with a pair of Audio Technica 7.1 surround headphones and I was completely immersed in the survival horror.

    Bottom Line : RE3 remake is a worthy successor to the RE2 remake. I dare say that I liked this remake just a little bit more than the RE2 remake which is bound to be an unpopular opinion. True RE fans will love diving back into Raccoon City. The graphics were better, the antagonist more intimidating, the gameplay more refined, and the protagonists more believable and likable. Jill’s my girl!

    Anyone who loved RE2make needs to play this game. The quality is extremely high (one of the best opening first hours in a game, ever) and there is a ton of replay value/things to unlock.

    Quality >>>> Quantity always. People who only play long, bloated games need to take a look at how they value their time.

    It's honestly a lot better than most people think or say it is. It is pretty small(~6 hours) and many assets originate from the RE2 remake, but is is still a very good game on its own right, with some good story telling and the best graphics I've pretty much ever seen. Also nemesis is terrifying, Jill and Carlos are awesome!

    Os haters estão dando 0 pra um jogo muito bom, simplesmente pq não é igual ao que jogaram a 20 anos atrás, e que só é realmente bom na memória deles. Obviamente o jogo não é perfeito, e se eu fosse dar alguma nota real, daria 8.5 ou 9, devido a curta duração do game, mas para compensar os chorões, vou dar 10.

    Es una REIMAGINACION no un remake.

    Jill está hermosa y me encantó la nueva apariencia de los personajes

    I loved the game from start to finish! A great re-telling of the PSX classic. I really don't have a bad thing to say about the game's game play or story. The level of overall polish on this game is flat out, fantastic. I never experienced any type of frame drops, glitches or bugs and I played on a regular PS4. I loved trying to survive the new Racoon City, never feeling like I had enoughI loved the game from start to finish! A great re-telling of the PSX classic. Not knowing what was around the next corner. I thoroughly enjoyed my first play through, as you can never get that back. All the character have reasons for doing the things they do, when they do them. Although I wish they expanded a hair more on Nikolai's back story, but oh well. Some of my favorite moments were, the opening, the re-envisioned Racoon City, seeing the precursory events to how things came to be in RE2R and the Nemesis fights, specifically forms 1 and 2. The final fight is very gratifying also!!!

    I know there are self entitled gamers out there hating on "cut" content and campaign length and in my opinion, it's BS. This is a RE-IMAGINING, a RE-TELLING, not a 1 for 1 remake of the original. In my opinion, this version of RE3 surpasses what RE2R did since we aren't left with any canon questions at the campaign's conclusion. Yes, I'm big on canon as a series veteran dating pack to 1996 with the OG RE for PSX. This series has always been one of my favorites since I was 12 years old. This game brings back a lot of nostalgia, in the type of feeling I got playing those classics and again with RE2R and RE3R. I can't stress enough how much I LOVED every second of this game.

    I feel sorry for the people who can't enjoy it because, some area settings are gone, or some enemies didn't make it into the game. They are too petty to enjoy the NEW stuff we got, the new enemies, the new areas, the new story beats.

    All in all, this was a great game, I give it a 9.7 out of 10 (metacritic won't let me give it a 9.7 so I had to round up) because to me it's as close to a perfect game as you can get. Graphically, I think RE2R was better since when you dismember zombie limbs, they hang and fall off. in this game, they kind of explode and disappear. There were some other parts, I thought were the difficulty spikes unnecessarily, then returns back to normal. NOT talking about boss fights though, I though they were very evenly matched once you figure out the correct strategy.

    If you are a fan of the series or not, I definitely recommend playing this game.    … Expand

    Super fun and high replayability. People feel it’s too short or has too much action but it’s comparable in length to the RE2 campaign (minus playing through basically the same campaign multiple times with a different character with only minor differences) and OG Nemesis was more action oriented too. This game is a perfect bridge between RE2 and RE4.

    Amazing game! Don’t listen to the haters, this is coming from a massive RE3 fan, Capcom struck a perfect balance between remaking a game but giving us so much nostalgia of the original. Plus this game also comes with the surprisingly fun and addicting Resident Evil Resistance that many critics seem to just completely ignore. Must buy! Thank you Capcom! ❤️

    Very beautiful main character.The original game has the same time period. It doesn't have a clock tower, but they have more new things, Raccon park has mixed parts like metro, construction zones, sewers, and more. The game doesn't deserve this.

    I'm in love with this game!
    Its so well done and its story is so amazing only downside is that its not a long game you can complete it in 2 hours if you speedrun it.
    I completed it in 5.5 hours and I missed some things.

It also takes what is an already linear game (RE3 Nemesis lacked significant backtracking, instead opting for flourishes like item & enemy variation & live decisions) and presents it in a way that is better suited to the story being told.

    What might mark a series first are serviceable and well paced cutscenes that don't impede the visceral interaction of the genre thanks to their direction, writing, acting and brevity. More than any Resident Evil before it they help realise the intended progression, which is to say one long unrelenting chase sequence and one spectacular climax replete with uncomfortably entertaining '80's action heroine quips', fun fleeting character dynamics and a simple, accessible plot i.e destroy the creature.

    Whilst 2's remake was in many ways a tribute, 3's makes a genuine attempt to raise the spectacle and continuity of it's legacy. The original from a gameplay perspective is in fact a great game, despite lacking in coherency and not really fitting into place other than to make a few major contributions to lore. As a sequel, as an end to a trilogy it arguably lacked the necessary framework. The developers very deliberately made an effort to fix this through their unapologetic vision, predictably to the outcome of nostalgic outcries.

    There might be division but make no mistake this is an incredible game and as good as the previous remake, even after multiple playthroughs I'm still looking forward to a lot. It is however built on different choices, with a variety of increasing highly altered difficulties and an in game shop that's respective currency is tied to achievements earned via campaign mastery.

    As of this review, I'm hoping it gets some DLC akin to the previous add ons for Re7 and Re2R but for what it's worth I do believe the main game stands on it's own as a tight, finely tuned romp.    … Expand

    It is a good survival-horror game , with incredible controlls and chessy lines and spectacular graphics. I would definetley recomand this to somone who hasn't played it yet , and loves a good "Poop your pants" adventure.

    Resident Evil 2 Remake was a hit in last year, but here I was also not disappointed this game. Fantastic remake survival horror with cult monster - Nemesis, which he can scare us. Capcom did a great graphics this remake, but on RE Engine looks great. I wish that there are so many cuts with comparison in classic. I was enjoying this game great and I always remember this game.

    I think people are underestimating RE3 remake. It is telling its own story and its own point of view about the Umbrella incident back in 1998 and gives the opportunity to new players to experience the events in a more modern and more realistic story and walkthrough. Does it fail as remake? Sure. But can it stand as an reimagining? Absolutely. Since it is on sale, I recommend it to anyoneI think people are underestimating RE3 remake. It is telling its own story and its own point of view about the Umbrella incident back in 1998 and gives the opportunity to new players to experience the events in a more modern and more realistic story and walkthrough. Does it fail as remake? Sure. But can it stand as an reimagining? Absolutely.     Even though it is a very successful game, you will feel a little disappointed. Compared to the remake of the second game, this one often loses its pace and it is impossible to get rid of the impression that there could and should have been more to this game. [Issue#303]

    After a stellar remake of an arguably the best Resident Evil game ever made, Capcom has let down our expectations by giving us a more scripted, more linear survival horror action game that will probably be forgotten like so many sequels that have gone the path of less resistance when it comes to game design. RE3 make feels more like a DLC than a full-blown game.
