    To me Resident Evil 3 was just a step up from RE2 it was a lot more fun/action packed. Definitely a little scarier, especially when that big ass nemesis comes charging at you. Highly recommend this game if you played RE2.

    I'd rate this game a solid 8 or 9, it's massively underrated though, so I'll give it a 10. Nice story and locations, great graphics, a very good graphics plus a great gameplay. I'd highly recommend for any survival horrors fan.

    First ever resident evil game I’ve played and WOW I was hooked from the get go, great atmosphere, great graphics and gutted now I’ve completed it, but been out and brought number 2 remake and village can’t wait to play them

    I can agree that the game is too short, I can agree that it's a pity that they cut iconic locations from the game, but I can't agree when someone writes that it's a bad game... it's far from such a rating! I even think that some elements (like the story) have even been improved. Feel that escape from the city now. This is that LAST ESCAPE from the original. I also think that the interaction between the characters is better here than in RE2R. Jill Valentine is just amazing. And the music faithful to the original is simply top notch. I should have given it a 9 but I had too much fun with this game so I'm giving it a 10 anyway!

    Btw. Capcom behaved badly by not releasing DLC ​​expanding the story. Every game has something like this. Just not RE3R, and it didn't sell all that badly..    … Expand

    Yes, it's short, yes, removal of puzzles is disappointing, and, yes, it's different than RE2 remake (but original RE3 was different from original RE2 as well and in a similar manner). But it's a highly addictive fast paced action game in a good way. And yes, I want more of it!

    Like many of you, I have played the original game, and I have been a long time fan of the franchise and though it is true I would have LOVED to see more content like a Mercenaries mode after you finish or more unlockable content, but let's be real...this is a great game. Jill is as awesome and well acted as ever and her design is top notch. The Nemesis encounters always vary as he is constantly evolving throughout the game and learns from each time you manage to defeat him. The character of Carlos is much better and a lot more complex and likeable as well than it was in the 1999 game.
    So I understand that some old-school fans wanted more puzzles and a longer campaign with less action but this is 2020, games are a lot faster paced these days and linear acton titles are more cinematic than ever with the spectacular visuals. And the game sales prove they were right as this remake is selling more copies for Capcom than any of ther titles before. Sure the second game's flawless remake has a lot to do with it as well, but if you're a fan of the series and Jill, you should like this game! Maybe wait for a price drop, but you should have a great time!    … Expand

    really great game for what it is ... I get why many people disliked it since it is "short" and misses few places from the original game, but this is a great game for what it is... For me the new features make up for the missing places. It took me 9+ hours to finish the game, which is almost double the average finishing time of 5 hours.

    Finished game in 7h:30m in Hardcore difficulty.

Perhaps a fantasy RPG like FF7 Remake, but then again, a game like that will probably take me months to complete. Yes RE3 has some stages removed from the original but it also has new ones- which I actually think work better in relation to the game's context and narrative. I've seen a bunch of crybaby reviews slamming the game for removing the typical puzzles of 90's video game obscurity. Trust me when I say that those puzzles just do NOT hold up well anymore. We're 2 decades past that. Rehashing those gameplay mechanics just wouldn't work and I always felt in the case of the OG RE3 that it actually stalled and broke up the otherwise superb pacing of A HORROR GAME.

    *Also, for the record, there are no QTE moments in this game. If you see reviews mentioning them in the game, you know it's a fake review-bomb*    … Expand

    The game is great in all aspects. But if you are looking for a clone or exact remake form the 99 version, this is not for you. The duration is about 5 or 6 hours (just like the old Resident Evils)

    It’s RE2r with elements of other RE titles. Plus Resistance is awesome and nowhere near a cash grab like COD or something of that nature

    Edit: That Molag guy is just confused that it’s not a remaster but a remake so yes there are differences but that should be apparent going into this.

    Its a great game with plot changes that make this re3 remake better if compared with original. Jill had been pursued entire story and doesnt makes sense she solves puzzle through the chase...re3 remake is short like original was...

You have more agency in your approach to dealing with zombies and you are rewarded for skillful gameplay. Some would argue this ruins the horror element, but these games have never been scary to me, so I don't miss not being able to dodge and generally stripped down gameplay. to TheThis game is fantastic. From the puzzle solving, to the resource management system to the third person over the shoulder camera angle (admittedly wasn't a fan of the fixed camera + tank controls), it is a perfect game to me. IOkay so, admittedly, I was never much of a Resident Evil fan before the Resident Evil 2 : Remake. That was my first RE ever, and it easily became on of my favorite games I've ever played. From the puzzle solving, to the resource management system to the third person over the shoulder camera angle (admittedly wasn't a fan of the fixed camera + tank controls), it is a perfect game to me. I was naturally PUMPED for this RE3 Remake, and I'm not disappointed, outside of a few minor things. I really can not talk about cut content and how true it is to the original, never having played it, this game on it's own is great, in my personal opinion. My minor complaints and why it isn't a 9.5-10 has to do with the length and replay-ability. I like RE2 more because of its slower pace, puzzle solving and backtracking but the RE3 Remake is a blast to play and I'd give it a strong 8.5 to 9 out of 10.     Resident Evil 3 2020 remake is a very good game! It's like I become young again! It's another energy and dynamics not like original Resident Evil 3 but it's shouldn't be same game with newer graphics. I love it!

Incredible modern graphics and going with an over the shoulder style instead of the original third-person perspective will make new players feel as if this game was conceived and made for the first time in 2020 and not 1999. The gameplay is buttery smooth and if you have already played the Resident Evil 2 Remake your muscle memory should jump right in and take control without ever missing a beat.

    This is so true that at times during the game you will feel like you are playing a DLC and not a completely different game. The re-use of assets from Resident Evil 2 will also make you feel this.

    When you add a limited five-hour playtime that sense that you just paid Sixty Dollars for a DLC really starts to bark loudly at you.

    Nemesis is constantly Lurking in Resident Evil 3

    To be fair that is the only gripe I have with the Resident Evil 3 remake. I absolutely love everything else about it. The game was able to make this jaded old gamer jump in places and that is no short task.   One of the things that I use to differentiate a good game versus a bad game is how quickly I am drawn into it and how fast time seems to melt away while I play it. Resident Evil 3 had me looking at disbelief at my clock as it took me deep into surviving Raccoon City instantly and made me want to invest a disproportionate amount of time there.

    Like Resident Evil 2 you will spend your time jumping between two protagonists Jill Valentine a member of S.T.A.R.S and Carlos a member of the Umbrella Corps who realizes that he might be working on the wrong side of the outbreak and assists Jill in trying to stop NEMESIS the genetically engineered super Weapon of the Umbrella Corp.

    You have to slug, shoot, and dodge (Dodging in this game is the absolute key to survival. You will find yourself without ammo on a consistent basis if you do not master this skill!) your way out of Raccoon City. While doing so you will be constantly talked by the before mentioned NEMESIS who serves as the game's antagonist and absolute bullet sponge. Be prepared to be incredibly frustrated in any attempt to avoid him.

    Final Thoughts

    Resident Evil 3 is a great game period. It looks amazing and plays amazing and will absolutely draw you in, the only shortcomings are that you are not allowed to stay for too long.

    The game does come bundled with a new asymmetrical multiplayer mode called Resident Evil Resistance which is much like previous asymmetrical horror games I have reviewed like Friday the 13th and my person favorite Dead By Daylight. The multiplayer is beautifully executed by suffers from its own success. Essentially to many people want to play as the antagonists so if you are hoping to run around terrorizing people as nemesis expect a long frustrating wait...at least for the near future.    … Expand

    Just like RE2 remake I couldn’t put this game down. The controls and graphics are quite smooth. The zombies still take a millions bullets to bring down and I wouldn’t want it any other way. Not sure what all the fuss is about but I’ve been enjoying the game so far.

    Continuação direta e pra quem reclama do tempo de campanha é pq não jogou o 3 clássico, eu zerava o clássico em menos de duas horas, gostei bastante, Jill ta incrível e só não do 10 pelo nemesis do fim

    in the span of 15 hours i beat the game about 5 times already, coincidentally it's the same amount that average Jill fan beat his meat to semi-erotic fan arts on re3 community page. Seriously, The time it took to publish realistic looking nude mode can only be rivaled by the re3's campaign length. In any case, my only two complains are: 1 - Nemesis changes into dog like creature on 1/3 of the playthrough and i think it's kinda lame, cause it doesn't really impose the same threat in the new form. 2 - infinite rocket launcher is too easy to obtain which nullifies the difficulty on any level.

    I can accept it as a reimagining as it's great at that but not as a remake of the original due to the few cuts they made and due to those cuts made it shorter than it should've been. But this is more of a reimagining and should be considered as one and for that reason I'm not giving it a negative rating as it's just simply a great game in that regard.

    Pros.

    + Graphics are improved over it's predecessor which is impressive and shows how amazing the RE engine.

    + Sound effects are great and you can hear every detail.

    + Soundtrack has more of a focus than it's predecessor and it really shows with some nice tones and some dread inducing ones at the right moments.

    + Atmosphere is amazing and shows why the Resident Evil series is one of the best at it.

    +Jill Valentine is fantastic and her design is done very well.

    +Nemisis is still terrifying as ever.

    Negatives.

    - The detail in the gore and dismemberment of enemies has been toned down, while it doesn't effect the experience much it is noticeable.

    - A bit short, while it's more of a reimagining, another hour or two of content would've been much better because when you have gameplay that is this fast it can feel like you're progressing quicker than you actually are.

    -Some enemies have been cut.

    Verdict.

Artisticamente y graficamente es una pasada, de lo mejorcito del año, quizas un paso por detras de doom eterna, final fantasy vii remake y persona 5 royale

It is a really intense presentation and for me one of the best in terms of action horror.

    The tech engine is good, I had no fps downs, no bugs, no bluescreen on my PS5. Loading times, saves, area changes are flawless and it deserves a 10 for this. The sound design is perfect and also contributes greatly to surround systems.

    Now for the let downs: Considering they used many assets from RE2:R and the poor game length the game deserves a downgrade in the score. I waited until the recent sale drop because I knew about this but for people not knowing about it, this is a big greed catcher. I played very defensive, got all areas cleaned, did it slow, tried to save ressources and it took me 6hrs on standard difficulty. If I knew I had so much ammo probably I could ve done it easily in 5hrs or less.

    Summary: RE3:R is a great game with perfect presentation in terms of visuals and sound design.The atmosphere is outstanding. Considering the game length, price, re-used assets and to an extinct the cut content it can be recommended but ONLY for at least a price drop of 50-60%. Everything else I would considera rip-off. Besides that it is an amazing experience and absolutely worth it.    … Expand

    Overall fun to play, but Capcom should have not rushed this and spent more time to include those cut areas from the original, and to fine-tune it more. A must have for any die-hard RE fan like myself, but wait until game is $30 or less to buy, especially if you don’t care about the multiplayer add-on.    … Expand

In RE3 both issues have bin fixed! And on more thing – quite short game duration could be either advantage or disadvantage. As for me it's a benefit as I don't have much time to play. Ностальгическая ценность как по мне поменьше, чем у прошлогодней двойки, но старичкам выросшим на оригинале, все это бесценно приятно. Такое нельзя оценивать цифрами, это единичные продукты. Not as much puzzles as the previous RE2 but there are a lot of going back and forth looking for keys, it took me 12 hours to beat the game on hardcore difficulty which I found ok..     I am 35 years old. I have playing Resident Evil (RE) games since Resident Evil (PC) in 1997. I prefer the RE Survival Horror games. And this RE3 presents a perfect balance between Survival Horror and Action. Every single second of action has been justified by the plot of the game.

    I did my first play-through on Hardcore. My score was 10 hours and 33 minutes. I played relaxed, in the dark with headphones, exploring the scenario, looking for collectibles (I found the 20 Mr. Charlie, the 56 files, the 10 weapons and its upgrades), and enjoying the survival horror experience. I have been truly amazed by this game, and if you know how to play and, specially, how to enjoy this games, you will have the same feeling.

    Certainly, the game is short. But all RE survival horror games are short. And this game has the average length of a RE survival horror game. I would even say that this RE3 is slightly longer than Resident Evil 3 Nemesis. A game that was planned to be a spin-off of RE2, Code: Veronica was going to be the third game, and only has one campaign.

    And this is important. When people are saying that RE and RE2 are longer, we must remember that booth campaings in RE, Jill and Chris, are exactly the same with a few changes like Rebecca and Barry as secondary character. Besides that, nothing different.

    The same with RE2, besides Sherry and Ada, the game is the same for booth characters. So when we are talking about longer games, we must be fair and see that booth campaigns are 95% identical. So at the end, we are playing in the same scenarios and facing the same enemies and final bosses over and over.

    Once this said, I will start with the review:

    Graphically is stunning. Improved from RE7 and RE2. Probably, the best face animations in video games. Certainly, the gore has been downgraded probably due more assets on screen However this game looks stunning i all aspects

    The sound is PERFECT. Great atmosphere combined with a refined remastered selection from the best pieces of the original game. The sound effects are realistic and the voice acting is accurate.

    The controls are the same from RE7 and RE2. Fun, intuitive and grounded with the addition of the dodge movement. Once this is controlled, a huge need in higher difficulties, the comfort is just maximum.

    Several things have been improved from the original. Better narrative, with a deeper detail on story, characters and its relation among them. The pacing has been increased with remarkable results.

    Probably, from the nostalgic point of view, this game has 2 sins. The first one is Nemesis. The redesign and the new character is better. But certainly has been severely under used. Probably, to avoid the stress and the frustration of those who are playing on easy and super easy difficulties.

    In the other hand, a few locations and enemies have been cut off from the original. Despite the graveyard and the park, where we were less than 5 minutes, I think that the Saint Michael Tower (Clock Tower) and the Grave Digger would be included. Besides the nostalgic factor, would add a few minutes more of gaming experience.

    Nevertheless, new areas have been included and others have been severely expanded. The new NEST 2 and the Hospital are good examples. This also affected to the characters and the story. We have new ones, the existing ones are deeper and allows the player to know better some aspects from Jill, Carlos, Tyrrell, Marvin and Nicholai. This one has been emerged as the new main villain of this new edition of Resident Evil 3.

    In conclusion, Resident Evil 3 is an excellent game that will make happy booth, new and old fans. However, the old fans must have in mind that this is not just a remake, it is a re-imagination. A completely new experience.

    My advice, in special for those who think RE3 is easy and short:

    1. Play the original game before
    2. Play on Hardcore
    3. Relax and enjoy the experience exploring and discovering the secrets.

    Despite the shorter length, I really enjoyed my time with Resident Evil 3 Remake. It's so awesome being able to see more of Racoon City compared to RE2 Remake, and Nemesis is such a cool antagonist that's super impressive to not only see but constantly be running from. Capcom corrected the excess light in the fire that was in Re2, the dodge is really cool to make, the characters are more interesting, the game is the right size, the cyrscenes are incredible , the battles against Nemesus are great, it's a great action game. I still prefer Re7's atmosphere of terror. I am 41 years old and I played Re3 inResident Evil 3 is better than Resident Evil 2.     This game is fun, always engaging no downtime I was never bored. (for example resident evil 3 had sections which are fun only on the first play through, however on repeat play through a they were annoying at best). But re3 i think is very well designed for repeat playthroughs

    This game is fun while it lasts. Playing on Hardcore and exploring every single area of the map took me 7 hours to beat it.

    Now should you get this game? It depends on how you value your fun. I bought the game and I got 7 hours of fun + multiplayer that I haven't tested yet. Last summer I spent 30$ for using a jet ski for 15minutes. Now I spent 60$ for 7 hours of fun. Make the choice.

    Its biggest drawback being its length and the tacked on multiplayer I really could not care less about

I did notice that Nemesis appeared less than in the original 1999 release but this didnt bother me at all because I felt that when he did appear it was way more impactful and tense. The game maintins in its majority the survival horror feel from the last game but it is at the same time much more full of action especially during the Carlos segments. I was really surprised when I finished the game and went online to see all the negative reviews I seriously thought the game would get way more praise than its getting. Another thing to mention is that after beating the campaign there is a unlock system that incites you to replay the story again to unlock new weapons, outfits and items, a feature that was missing in the previous game but at the same time this game replaces the mercenaries mode with the online multiplayer known as resistance. This was the only thing I really would say I disliked about the game but REsistance serves as a standalone part of the game and doesnt even have to be downloaded with the main game. I can't wait what more plans Capcom has in store to add to this game in the same vein that they did in Resident Evil 2 with free extra modes (Hopefully we get Mercenaries in the near future) and some cool paid outfit dlc's such as in REmake2.… Expand

While it has one or two flaws such as short length and a couple of missing locations its still a fun game to play. Some of the reviews saying jill is a feminist wahmen is mega cringe. Wouldnt be suprised if they hated the original. Fantastic characterization for the characters. Nicholai, Carlos, Jill and Tyrell get superb upgrades in character development. Carlos had the best lines in the game. Amazing gameplay with some good gunplay. A good arsenal of weaponry and the dodge mechanic is better this time around. Nemesis is more meaner and vicseral, his boss fights are way more fun. Would have liked to see more of him but what we got was enough. Ignore some of the reviews on here, this is a very good game. If you are a fan of the series i'd buy it now but if you are new then id wait til theres a price drop because this is a short game just like the original… Expand

    Resident evil 3 isn’t a perfect game but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t happy with the final product. I loved the blend of both horror & action. I feel like capcom finally understand why fans love the resident evil.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I appreciate the effort made by the developer to tread the very difficult line of staying true to the original story and a new experience. Obviously, the RE:2 Remake was always going to be better. It was a remake of a more popular game. It was a new 3rd person experience that took everybody by surprise. RE:3 stays tru to the formula and takes some risks, some paid off some didn't. Compared to RE:2 its underwhelming but again, in a vacuum this is still a good game and I enjoyed it. So far I have beaten it 3 times, One blind on standard, one speedrun on easy and one 100 percent collection. Now that I have a good foundation, I am excited to try the harder difficulties.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's Absolute a good game in 2020. RE2 is bad remake game no doubt, there is no different between 1st & 2nd game. But RE3? Definitely good remake game!!! So many part remake great. Especially Carlos part. i'm very enjoy the hospital, the environment almost freaking me out!!. The most players said the story is really too short, but the original have the same period of time. in the end I have to say, Thanks Capcom give me this great & classic zombie game!!… Expand

    What plays more as a companion piece to the instant classic that was Resident Evil 2 remake, Resident Evil 3 does it's job in delivering a more action-oriented survival horror experience to the player. While the Nemesis set pieces disappoint, the story and pacing of the game do not. I left Resident Evil 3 a bit perplexed at the poor reviews it was receiving. More importantly, the gameplay is fantastic, with plenty of replayability on multiple playthroughs as Resident Evil games are intended to have. While it falls short of the masterpiece value that RE2 possesses, there is no reason NOT to be excited about adding this one to your collection.… Expand

    While I wish we had been able to explore the clock tower and have another city hub section for nemesis to chase us in to give us more time with his humanoid form I enjoyed the game immensely. It fits very well as a companion piece to RE2R and it’s reimagined setting and scenarios. I also liked that they took creative liberties with this, instead of giving us a remake with a 1:1 recreation.While I wish we had been able to explore the clock tower and have another city hub section for nemesis to chase us in to give us more time with his humanoid form I enjoyed the game immensely.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It's a solid game. Don't listen to the people giving it a rating of 0-6. Could it be better? Yes. Is it faithful to the original? No. But it's still a great game. There are plenty of complaints I have but there's also plenty of praises I have to give this game. It's too short and the Carlos portions of the game are pointless unlike the original RE3 where his hospital visit to save Jill was amazing! Here, not so much. The boss battles are gimmicky and almost battle arena like. The only boss fight that's good is the construction site fight. Also, Nemesis 2nd and 3rd form are terrible. The original did it much better. I love Jill and Carlos. Mikhail and Nicholson, too. All great acting from those characters. Overall, it's an 8.5/10 for me. I rounded it up because this game brings back nostalgia for me.… Expand

    Not sure what a lot of the whining is about. Having just as much fun with this as I did the RE2 remake. I played both original PS1 games btw so...anyway, awesome game.

    This game is more focused on telling the story in game than giving you files and ways to get lost, so there's less backtracking, almost 0 puzzles, and the dialogues happens very often. The entire game i had a feeling that I didn't have in RESIDENT EVIL 2, the feeling of true progression. Under 2 hours of game i was in so many    RESIDENT EVIL 3 it's no masterpiece, not even its predecessor.

The game is engagin on it's combat, characters, ambients and story enough for me to get pulled to that world. The quick time events are fine, just 2/3 of them may seen a bit "meh"
    I thought i was gonna get a pretty "Ok" game bc of the reviews but instead i got, again not a masterpiece, but a very great game in a loved franchise by me. RESIDENT EVIL 3 is a must play.    … Expand

    A lot of content was cut from the original, but this does not prevent the game from being great. Worse than RE2 Remake, but still came out great

    A ton of fun, builds on what 2 did but this is way more intense. A lot of replay value and resident evil resistance is just a bonus to mess around with if you get bored. Overall a great game with good pacing and fun scares!

    Even though it is a very successful game, you will feel a little disappointed. Compared to the remake of the second game, this one often loses its pace and it is impossible to get rid of the impression that there could and should have been more to this game. [Issue#303]

    After a stellar remake of an arguably the best Resident Evil game ever made, Capcom has let down our expectations by giving us a more scripted, more linear survival horror action game that will probably be forgotten like so many sequels that have gone the path of less resistance when it comes to game design. RE3 make feels more like a DLC than a full-blown game.
