El combate tanto a pie como en coche es muy bueno y dinámico, pero es lo único bueno que tiene.
Todo lo demás es malísimo, espera mas ya que el primero fue muy bueno y aun así es mejor que su secuela.

All weapons and special abilities are collected via side missions, which are also boring, meaning that I completed the game without all of the powers and with only half of the weapons - you don't really need them. The only saving grace is the combat which is good, as it was made by ID Software who made Doom. Worth a quick run-through as the campaign isn't that long if you focus on the main missions only, but I would not recommend buying this - play it for free on PS Plus or your equivalent subscription service. It is now 3 years after launch. It's safe to say it's not getting fixed. It ruined the whole game for me. It's not bad if you ignore the completely broken main quest. Otherwise the game lacked any kind of pacing or cinematic quality. Gameplay fundamentals were good but main weapons and abilities were locked behind vaults spread out over the entire massive map. So by the time you get everything you want, it's about time for the game to be over. Which is another way to say you spend most of the game without the coolest stuff. A next gen patch and a bug overhaul would go a long way for this game. Expand

It seems like a lot of gamers expected something that this game is not: a story-driven game. This game is just dumb fun, and I think that's what most iD games are. Like John Carmack (founder of iD) said: “Story in a game is like story in a p*rn movie. It's expected to be there, but it's not important.”

I never really write reviews for games, but I just don't understand the negative

I never really write reviews for games, but I just don't understand the negative critics here. I gave it a 10 to compensate, but it's really more of an 9/10.

The shooting mechanics feel incredibly tight, the vehicles are fun to drive, the graphics are quite good for an open world game, the art direction is beautiful, and most of all - it's fun! I haven't had this fun in a game since Doom (2016) and Zelda - Breath of the wild.

the open world part, on the other hand, is an Avalanche Software's (of Just Cause and Mad Max fame) doing, and it's Just Boring (pun intended). a checklist of filler content and chores to do - clear out the outposts, loot the crates, destroy the mutant nests, roadblocks, turrets, etc., rinse and repeat. even the story at some point will mandate doing this side stuff in order to progress further.
the progression system is tied to said side tasks and exploration, so before the combat picks up and becomes crazy fun, you'll have to take your time and find the the weapons and abilities, grind out various currencies to upgrade them.
the story and characters are just there, and that's about it. cutscenes remind of, say, Far Cry and Borderlands, but lack the charm and are so few, they get forgotten pretty fast. there are, like, 6 missions excluding the prologue and final boss, so if you want to skip on "filler content", you're left with short and bare-bones campaign.
the performance on base PS4 does dip quite a bit, more powerful machines capable of better frame rate are a much better option. loading times aren't too long. bugs are mostly gone (with patch 1.09), no glitched trophies in my experience (they pop up with some delay). stats menu still can glitch out though.
in conclusion, RAGE 2 could've been an amazing game but suffers from bad open world design, lack of meaningful content, and absence of co-op/multiplayer. pick it up only for cheap and keep your expectations in check.

It's definitely lost something from the original Rage. The FPS gameplay isn't as tight, and the settings aren't as eerily beautiful and apocalyptic. Everything from encounter design to the characters and the story are fairly generic. The game engine is slow and clunky, especially the character menu. It sometimes takes 5-7 seconds to switch between your menu tabs. It almost feels like it's timing out. There's still fun to be had here.

Rage 1 was an interesting tech demo back in the day (well that is how I saw it). This is the final product a concept fully realised? Yeah it has some fun gun play/abilities sprinkled in between lots of empty open world jank driving and very dull open world story elements.

This is supposed to be an Earth in Future from the NPC references local to USA? Games like Division and Fallout take cultural and political critical pot shots as Rage 2, but it is an equal opportunity bullet to the face unlike Rage 2.

Visually the game looks over bright, but not in a fun whacky Borderlands 1/2 way. Characters look gross and weird. Story, dialogue and characters written by some who still writes with color wax crayons probably? Yeah it's that basic and dumb. What is with the SJW hair cut in this game lol?

When stuff is going at speed and/or a lot is going on the screen performance dips to point this game was not optimised for the PS4. The in game menus also freeze so no smooth transition swapping menu screens. This is almost on par with the poor performance of Borderlands 3 gameplay/menu slowdowns.

A missed opportunity for sure. Gun play/abilities 7/10, open world 5/10, driving 3/10, writing 1/10, escapism 0/10, performance 4/10. Rage 2 the game is comparable to the current failings of many Hollywood movies. Flashy, mindless, full of cringe writing and over staying it’s welcome.

Horribly laggy on PS4. I cannot say it enough. If you cannot make your game work properly on a PS4, don’t release it! The frame rate is of only 30fps in theory, but it can drop to way lower number as soon as you engage in combat.

It’s also not a very interesting story. Nor is the gameplay anything very engaging. Overall I was very disappointed with this game. It might look and play nice

Rage 2’s nonsensical story is unbearable, and the unskippable exploration parts are mostly irritating and boring.
