    One of the best games I've ever played. It is even better then P5R, because the story makes more sense in the original and it isn't overloaded with to much content. 95h is long enough.

    This is it, the best videogame I have ever played. Where do I even start? How much it impacted me throughout my teenage years and helped me with my struggles? How it expanded my horizons and introduced me to JRPGs, some of my favorite games, Anime and Japanese Culture?... The characters I met in this game, they felt real and very relatable in many ways, they gave me a place to stay and IThis is it, the best videogame I have ever played. Where do I even start? How much it impacted me throughout my teenage years and helped me with my struggles? How it expanded my horizons and introduced me to JRPGs, some of my favorite games, Anime and Japanese Culture?... The characters I met in this game, they felt real and very relatable in many ways, they gave me a place to stay and I felt like I belonged somewhere. The things they all go through really hit me right in the feels, I cheered for them and their motivation to keep going forward and I wanted them to succeed because I was a part of them. Now, for the story, the game touches some very serious and dark themes such as abusing the weak, depression & insecurities, greed for power, anthropology and how humans think & act, carving your own path in society, making your dreams come true by achieving them and not giving up, which in my eyes is one of the most compelling & deep stories I've ever experienced. Personally this game really helped me with my social anxiety and gave me the motivation to escape from it, as someone who just became an adult, I finally have a goal in my life. Enough for the story, let's talk about the flawless combat system, which in my opinion is the most advanced turn based game I've ever experienced, from the very satisfying and fast paced combat mechanics to the masterfully crafted animations, this is a very enjoyable game even for those who aren't into turn based games. As for the social simulator aspect, it's my favorite part of the game, bonding with the characters and experiencing their stories, helping them with their problems, gaining new abilities that enhance the combat mechanics, you can definitely see the effort that was put into the game. I also want to talk about the super stylish animations which are very charming & exciting to look at, the art style is the best I've ever seen period, no other game has such style as this one, from the Showtimes, All-Out Attacks, and special abilities to the menus, everything looks absolutely stunning, and even the in-game animations share this "comic book" art style that fits perfectly into the game, aswell as for the music, which is easily the best soundtrack I've ever heard, not a single song that I don't like, I literally listen to the game's music everyday, it became a part of my life. I think this is everything I wanted to say about this masterpiece of a videogame, it's a very long, emotional & unforgettable journey.… Expand

    Such an amazing game. I started playing the game with no prior knowledge about the game. I had not played any of the previous Persona games, and honestly I started playing because they were going to add Joker in Smash. This game is pure magic from beginning to end. I played through the game twice to get the platinum, and afterwards I played through it a third time just because it is suchSuch an amazing game.     Provavelmente meu jogo favorito dessa geração (e outras mais). História, jogabilidade, trilha sonora.. totalmente impecaveis. Para o povo brasileiro tem o "problema" da falta de localização, mas se você entende de inglês / japonês, não tem o que pensar.

    Life changing game. In my whole life I just cried with a handful of games, and this was one of them. Not because some character died, or something sad happened on the story, but because it ended. Up to this day, a year later from purchasing the game, I'm still in love with it, and its music. Personal fabourite video game soundtrack.

    Firstly, I've never played a Persona or SMT game before so this doesn't come from any pre-existing bias to the series.

    This is genuinely the best PS4 game I've played to date and one of my favourite games of all time. The story is truly remarkable. The characters are well written and the way you develop your confidant relationships with them will really show by the end of the game. The music is 10/10 and has one of the best soundtracks for a game that I've ever heard. It has a wide range of different moods in the songs, all of which are great to listen to during your day. The plot is also outstanding. Although the game may be +120 hours, you will enjoy the story if you stick to it. Battle mechanics are also very easy to get used to and incredibly fun.

    I can't recommend this game enough.The sheer amount of content in this game is really what games should aim for. This is truly a game that is worth every penny because it was made with passion.    … Expand

    Perfeição. Comecei a gostar de jogos em turno graças a Persona 5,que é pra mim não só o Goty do ano que lançou, mas muito provavelmente de toda geração. Difícil um jogo com campanha me manter preso por 120 horas completamente viciado. The Witcher 3 mesmo pra mim se tornou secante depois das 30horas

If you say this game is bad, that's mean you're just suck and have never played the Megami Tensei series. P5's story is kinda good and many side stories and stuffs based on the dark side of Japan.     An overall amazing game! The colour contrasts, the fun and enjoyable charactes, the story, the gameplay- which is the best idea of Japanese RPG- and the personas wrap all together and create a amazing yet almost campy game that can be enjoyed by anyone who likes RPGs.

    Just to clarify, I have never played any long JRPG or RPGs in general. The only game that can even be considered these 2 genres is Pokemon. After the game won the best RPG in 2017 and even a nomination for game of the year, I was pretty interested but didn't own a PS4 at the time. After then buying a PS4, I remembered the game when the main character was added to Super Smash Bros Ultimate,Just to clarify, I have never played any long JRPG or RPGs in general. After then buying a PS4, I remembered the game when the main character was added to Super Smash Bros Ultimate, a game I had been anticipating since March. After playing the game to its completion, and crying my eyes out about 3/4 of the way through, I've realized how amazing this game is. From the shining colors to the music that's too amazing I can't stop listening. Then there's the UI. The UI should be put in a museum its that stylized. And if you're concerned about the story, it has twists and turns, with certain scenes that really have a lasting impression on you, and let you connect with the characters. The combat is also very interesting since it's half of the game. Being a slice of life/visual novel some days and the infiltration JRPG battles in the other. Personally, I find that the music, the subtle sound effects whenever you go into menus, and the flashy attacks make the JRPG formula of standing around and hitting people from a few feet away, make it a lot more satisfying. But one of my favorite parts of the game is how you manage your time. Maybe one day you hang out with a friend called a confidant, which gives you the upper hand in battle, like instantly escaping a battle if you so please or letting you start the battle with a barrage of bullets. This makes the visual novel aspect play into the dungeon-crawling JRPG aspect. If you love JRPGS, a riveting story, fun combat, and a beautiful presentation, you need to play this game.… Expand

    As someone who is a huge JRPG fan, I've always been interested in Persona 5 but hadn't played it until we were in a game store and I decided to give it a shot. Now this is my first Persona game, and holy crap it was amazing. The style of this game is wonderful, the Personas are all very unique and interesting along with all of the party member from the phantom thieves. Now this is my first Persona game, and holy crap it was amazing. The voice acting in this game is wonderful (Both Japanese and English). The characters are all charming and love able, especially Ryuji. I found myself wanting to spend the most time with Ryuji and building up the confidant ranking between me and him. Speaking of spending time in this game, there is so much freaking stuff to do within the real world when not at school or inside a palace. You do have to carefully decide how you will be spending your time during the day though since there is only so much time in a day, and later on depending on confidant rankings you can unlock ways to have more time in a day to do certain things, and when your not in the real world you'll be invading the palaces in the game, which are a persons distorted heart and desires and they are absolutely wonderful and very creative, from invading a castle, to a bank, a Egyptian tomb and more. You can also spend your time in a world called mementos which is the everyone in the city of Shibuya's distorted hearts and desires which is comprised of randomly generated levels that are a very good way to grind to level up your party members. Overall this game rules and i easily found myself invested in it the moment i picked up the game, if you've been on the fence about Persona I'd say absolutely go for it and give it a try!… Expand

    An amazing JPRG that is solid. A pity its a ps4 exclusive, but it's a very enjoyable one. For those who havent got it yet, just hold purchase until the Persona5 Royal gets released, it will be a far more complete game.

    The story is very interesting and detailed, characters are unique and fit perfectly within their roles as each of them have their own personas alongside their personalities which relate to them. Never played a turn-based JRPG before, but this really is worth a play. Recommended from my friend prqdgy

    Only gripe is the pacing but this is a hybrid sort of dating sim with dungeon crawling so story and character development is vital. I take it like an anime where a character is introduced, then that person's back story then their current predicament.     Battle system and music were great. But they should realize they have to change the generic battle music after 100 hours into the game which is a common JRPG criticism.

    Despite the 10/10, this game isn't perfect. The story really drags around the 5th palace and the characters aren't as deep as the ones in Persona 4. But so much about this game is fantastic to the point where I don't care. The characters are still fantastic, the gameplay is fun, the story is great, music is breathtaking, visuals are gorgeous.

    This game isn’t fun. Isn’t for everyone and might seem boring and too long. But I still love this game. Story isn’t interesting for most of time, but isn’t boring too. Dialogues are so natural (especially when you’re high schooler like me). Gameplay is something you probably have seen in other games like old ffs (gameplay, walking and beating creeps) and pokemon (catching personas). AfterThis game isn’t fun.     Persona 5 is a wild ride. The soundtracks are amazing, the characters are unique and it keeps you busy for as long as well over a 100 hours. Even if you finished the game there's a lot of replay value because of dialogue choices and maxing out certain stats and abilities. Persona 5 is definitely the King of JRPG's!

    -Los textos en inglés, a mí no me importa ya que entiendo inglés pero creo que mucha gente se quedará sin disfrutarlo por eso, por suerte la versión Royal vendrá con subtítulos en español

    -Los trofeos, a algunos esto no les importará pero lo que te piden para el platino es excesivo, require más de 120 horas de juego y completarlo todo, incluído completar 2 partidas, ese punto lo arreglan en el Persona 5 Royal, que tiene un platino muchísimo más asequible    … Expand

    Great Gameplay,Great Characters, Great Story and a Great Soundtrack, when i played this masterpiece,it surprised me a lot about how good this game is, Persona 3 is my Second favorite of the series,3 and 5 just blows out the other games of the series on my honest opinion (sorry for my bad English, I'm Brazilian :/)

    This game is just incredible from start to finish. The gameplay mechanics have taken the turn based JRPG to another level. The music is the best i have ever heard in any game. The graphics, artwork and anime scenes are incredibly done. For me this is the greatest game i have ever played and I cannot wait to jump back into it come March 2020 for Persona 5 Royal.

    I was looking for a new title and saw Persona 5 among the top-rated PS4 titles (with GoW, RDR2, Uncharted 4 etc), and my curiosity got the best of me. JRPG's aren't usually my thing at all, which is probably why I felt like maybe I'd missed something, and I went ahead and bought it.     Pro's: The art style is incredible. The fusion-esque soundtrack creates a great atmosphere. The story! Oh, the story. You really feel like you're getting to know these people, as if you're actually a member of the Phantom Thieves. This game has me wanting to travel to Sangenjaya (the real-life inspiration for the in-game Yongenjaya) more than GTAV ever made me want to go to LA. I feel like I could walk into a coffee shop in Tokyo and have a brew with one of the character's from the game. It's weird.

    More pro's: The turn-based combat is multi-levelled and engrossing, despite me usually shying away from turn-based RPG's. It can be quite fast-paced, which I like (and it looks stunning). In terms of story and writing, it can be quirky, comical, serious, unbelievably dark even - which is what makes it such an artwork in my opinion.

    Con's: The beginning of the game feels quite difficult unless you're familiar with the genre, but I got the hang of it after looking for tips online. Without spoiling anything, the end of the game stretches out for a good bit which isn't necessarily a bad thing but after 100+ hours of playing I sort of got fed up with boss fights.

    Summary: As an individual, I try to keep an open mind but it should be added that I usually prefer 3rd person adventures/action/horror games and the like. I'm glad I tried Persona 5 though, and now it's become one of my most anticipated series to look forward to (Persona 6 when??). So if you're like me and you're looking for something different, you should definitely check out this game. If you're already into japanese RPG's or anime/manga, then it's a no-brainer.     I do not believe any game can truly be perfect enough to attain a 10/10 score, however due to the lack of any scoring system without whole numbers on Metacritic, I feel as though this best represents my thoughts.

    My thoughts on Persona 5 are best summed up with one sentence. I truly do believe this is the best game ever created.     My thoughts on Persona 5 are best summed up with one sentence. I truly do believe this is the best game ever created. This is not just for the RPG genre, but for the wider industry.

    The most striking aspect of Persona 5 can be found in its artstyle and design. It may seem as a somewhat vain form of praise, but the design is truly outstanding. System menus are a joy to navigate just for seeing their designs. The world and character models may be simple, but are viciously effective in their simplicity. The music is perhaps the best the series has ever been blessed with, Shoji Meguro at his absolute best. Character portraits are appealing to look at. Every aspect of this game's art and design is an absolute joy, it is something you must see to truly understand.

    Gameplay feels the strongest that the Persona series has ever experienced. The dungeons in Persona 5 feel far more varied than the TV World or Tartarus in prior games. The only flaw Persona 5 experiences in this regard is in the form of Momentos. This was the one area of the game in which I felt fatigued when exploring, but this mostly due to a desire to return to the game's wonderful story and social aspects.

    Speaking of social aspects, Persona 5 replaces the Social Links of old with the new Confidants. Although, this is more of a renaming phenomenon than a real overhaul in terms of design or mechanics. Regardless, social activities in Persona 5 are just as enjoyable as they have been in previous games. I felt genuinely invested in the issues which certain characters were facing, and felt fulfilled when they reached the end of their arcs. There is not a single Confidant which stood out to me as especially boring or uninteresting. Some Confidants involve characters which are not central to the story, which may reduce the investment some people have in those characters. However, I found all the Confidants I explored in both of my playthroughs to be fun, entertaining and engaging.

    A natural progression from this point would to talk characters. Persona 3 and especially 4 are well known for their colourful casts, and Persona 5 is no exception. I'd argue that this is the series at its best. Through the use of the previously discussed Confidants, characters feel fleshed out, believable and interesting. The dynamic between the main cast of characters feels so natural it is hard to explain through words. It feels as though this is a real group of friends that could exist in the real world, if they could steal hearts and stuff of course. Good character development comes hand in hand with a fantastic storyline. I do not wish to discuss this in detail here as a result of the upcoming changes in Persona 5 The Royal.

    If I could give a more accurate score to Persona 5, it would be 9.8/10. I do not believe it is possible for any game to be perfect. However, I believe Persona 5 is currently the best game you can buy with money right now. This is no exaggeration. I had been a long time Persona fan prior to the release of Persona 5, and to have all of the hype pay off in such a meaningful way was an incredible feeling I have not felt since. I give Persona 5 a 9.8 in the hopes that one day a 9.9 game will best Persona 5. It may not be a Persona or Atlus game that does this, but I believe there is room in the future for an even better game than Persona 5. However, at this time, Persona 5 is my most favourite game of all time.    … Expand

I'm a little late to the game but I am not regretting it at all, so much so that I have replayed it more than once along with trophy hunting, which I only do with games that I greatly enjoy. I took me ~100h to beat this game. Use the charming elements of Cowboy Bebop. It was so easy to make this into a game of only chasing bad guys, but it's story shows a great improvement when we mest Futaba. Having someone with depression forming a castle that turned from needing to hostile att certain points since vet emotions were all over the place. This game offers 100 hours on the story. I played with "Hard" and it made most encounters dangerous since the checkpoint can be far away. Going to do the NG+ in Japanese, but I can say the voice acting was really good..… Expand

    The best the playstation has to offer and honestly one of the greatest games of all time. The gameplay is immersive and has may things to do. The ui and menus are close to perfection and the music is absolutely fantastic. If you are on the fence i would say wait for p5r but i definitely recommend you play this game in any way you can.

    A amazing art style, clean gameplay, the incredible and catchy soundtrack that I listen to on a daily basis since finishing the game and a lot of replay value due to the confidants and content you'll only see if you do a new game plus route. I hope that we see a Persona 3 and    The first game from the Persona series that I (and many others) have played, and I've enjoyed it a lot.

    Persona 5 is an absolutely amazing game that convinces with its art style, music and story. It has anything one could ask for such a game and more. The turn-based battle system offers a wide array of opportunities. While it may not be everyone's cup of tea, it is definitely recommended to give it a go.
