Well, in terms of the story and characters it's like a typical jrpg. This game doesn't have impressive writing or something. But it's really fun and long game.

This game is pure perfection. Everything is done masterfully. It has the best characters I ever saw on any kind of media, the art style is the best one I saw, the soundtrack is perfect, and the story is divine. It's the best ps4 exclusive, by a mile, and also the best game I played (tying with p5r, p5s, p5d, p3d, p3fes and p4g). Yeah, I really love this franchise.

I can't believe such a great game. I've never thought it was a hassle because it's a fashionable game that eliminates the annoying parts of an RPG game as much as possible. The BGM and the game system are very interesting, and you can gradually improve your status through studying everyday life, relationships and hobbies, you can enjoy the future that changes because you have improved it, and the story is suspenseful but fantasy. It's devilish, spiritual, or fun with settings like those found in funny anime and movies for adults and kids alike. It's like a dream that you can do such a wonderful thing just by buying a PS5. If you haven't played, try it. There seems to be a separate full version, but I was happy with this alone. The full version is what I heard from people who played that new characters appeared and only changed a little. Expand

Story = Decent, just good. Quite a shock to learn Akechi true identity.

Romance = Amazing, they execute it very well and give us player freedom as every girls character in the game are able to be in relationship with us. Futaba all the way, never cheat on her.

    Combat = Great just great

Conclusion = way too many to talk about persona 5 as its just a perfect JRPG although mona tends to get annoying as sometimes I can't do anything for around 3-5 days straight and Mona keep telling me to sleep. But that's it, the downside of Persona 5, the rest is legendary.

Persona 5 is what final fantasy 15 should have been: a character driven, charming game where player agency is felt all troughout the experience.
It is impossible to explain the story of the game without spoilers, it is safe to say that, if you survive the early opening hours that revolve about world-building, by the time you defeat the first major boss you are hooked and invested in the life of the characters.
From a gameplay perspective there are 2 very distinct sections: inside or outside the dungeons.
Dungeons are the typical JRPG thing: you explore, you fight, you deviate from the path to collect rewarding loot.
When a monster (shadow here) is encountered, the battle system is Turn Based, in which the key to success is identifying strength and weaknesses of the opponent.
Despite being turn-based, the combat is fast paced and extremely stylish due to the cool menu design and the catch music.
Outside dungeons your goal is to leave the life of a teenager: making friends, deciding how to spend your time.
Your activities in the "not dungeon" will then increase stats like "intelligence" or "charme".
Icnreasing those stats will allow the player to unlock different interactions or story paths with the other party characters.
On paper, managing the live of a teenager sounds like the most boring thing ever, yet, as the story progresses, the investment is so high, that by the time the credits roll you can't help but wonder at how good the journey was.

    1. Really long stretches of story telling. I like me a game with a good story, but sometimes it feels that the story drives on for - what feels like - an hour before you can do much more than click through the dialogue.
    2. Save spots are either placed too close or too far apart. In the dungeons (called palaces in this game) the user can only save in designated areas. These are just not well spaced. Which would maybe not be a problem if it wasn't for...
    3. The moment your main character is defeated in battle it's Game Over. I feel this is a bad mechanic for any RPG where you control a party and reviving characters is possible. It might not be as big an inconvenience if this wouldn't set you back so much in the game, since the saving areas are so far apart.

There are other things which are demanding and obviously this is not a game for casual playing but while I whole-heartedly can recommend a lot of other games I feel like such a great title should have these things smoothed out.

As for minus side game can get bit repetitive sometimes, it has kinda similar formula through its whole run anyway. Also for me at least game was bit too easy on normal difficulty, I am someone already familiar with persona games so for someone new to games normal might be actually quite ideal difficulty, as hard difficulty on the other hand can be really punishing if you do not know what you are doing so this can be bit of an issue for some people looking for more challenge but not really understanding everything and having social links low level etc. xd as I could see someone getting too many game overs in such case. For me personally hard difficulty did offer really nice challenge though which will affect positively my score as I had much fun beating the game due to this.

I'll start off saying I haven't beaten the game and am likely nowhere near done. So far, Persona 5 has a fun story and really great mechanics.

I'm bored to death of the high school student story trope in anime/JRPGs, but somehow this one just completely sucked me in. Maybe it's because I too hung out in the "back alleys" of my high school with the less popular folks, I don't know.

Anyway, the story is good and dives into interesting commentary while providing a nice, crisp anime aesthetic.

The mechanics shine through the most and is the main reason for my high rating. Some gamers swore that a turn-based RPG just couldn't be engaging in 2017 and yet Persona 5 exists, advancing turn-based mechanics in meaningful ways while all others adhere to fake "action" combat.
Besides that mechanic is the whole social-link aspect, which really makes the game feel like you're living the life of a student by day and a master thief by night, balancing relationships and activities which will help your alter-ego/team in combat.

TL:DR Persona 5 is probably one of the best jRPG's since Ni No Kuni and possibly the best game I played in a while (with the exception of Witcher 3, which is a masterpiece). This is the type of a game that comes once, maybe twice in a console generation and a must have for any jRPG's lover. I won't give it a 10, but it's very damn near. 9.5/10 for sure.

    Pros:
    - Phenomenal music. This has got to be at the top of this list. The OST is simply amazing. It's one of those things that I'll remember for a long, long time. Just listen to the "Persona 5 OST - Price" on YouTube and feel the vibe.
    - Great story and memorable characters (mostly). I wouldn't call the writing superb, but when the game is as long as Persona 5 (100+ hours for one playthrough), the story has to be good to keep you entertained. The characters are mostly interesting with some minor exceptions.
    - Entertaining confidance system through which you strenghten the bonds with you fellow teammates and other characters that are important to the story. Every person has a backstory, which makes them even more interesting.
    - Great battle system. It looks a bit like Pokemon and plays a little like Pokemon, and... that's just fine! Gathering new Personas is both fun and challenging, especially if you're looking to get that final trophy for catching them all.
    - Around 100 hours of great content, although...

    Cons:
    - I feel like the game could have been a little shorter. I think 80 hours for one playthrough would have been just right. It would have been enough to explore the game in-depth, and at the same time the ending seems like a little bit of a drag.

    Go get it, guys!

Then there's has New game + which i feel is encouraged as i don't think you can max everything on one play-through unless you follow a guide, there's so much to do each day from building Social links with other characters and your party, grinding your social attributes and smaller tasks like training to build up HP or crafting tools for dungeons.

There are so many personas too, i love finding a new one and capturing it or fusing personas i already have to get a new one. Each of the party members/other characters are interesting (personally some more than others feel fleshed out or likeable). I love the themes that come up in this game in each story arc, they're pretty twisted like the first dungeon being a Teacher who thinks the school is his own castle and thinks of the female students as his playthings.

At first i thought the time restrictions was annoying as it holds your hand quite a bit at least until after the first dungeon or palace as they're called in game but once it passed this point i had this "need to just get to the next day" because i could rank up a character social link or a twist in the story happened like that "one more episode" feeling when you watch a TV series and before i realised it was 3am....

P5 is easily worth its price for the time it will take to complete if you're into J-RPGs i feel i could play through it at least a 2nd time upon my first completion but possibly even a 3rd with everything maxed out as it is just so addictive.

On the surface alone, the game's fantastic visual design, fun characters, and satisfying progression make it fantastic. However, there is more to Persona 5 than that. The story alone is amazing, and the way the game-play progresses and pushes that story shows how the added interaction of a game compared to a movie or tv show can really make characters and choices come to life. The game-play loop is simple: You spend days out with friends to level up social links, giving them better abilities whenever you decide to go to the palace. The game actively encourages you to spend time with friends, rewarding you with new skills and upgrades. When you spend time with them, their stories will play out, you learn a bit about them, and help them with a problem in their life. And through helping their problems, they help you back by having some useful abilities. The various ways the game-play of this game is directly tied to its story is truly an achievement for the video-game industry. The only negatives that lead me to take away any points from this masterpiece are: There are times when the graphics in the background get really bad, one short point in the story that I really didn't care for, and the fact that I am still not 100% a fan of turn-based combat and random-chance. But other than that, the outstanding visuals, amazing writing, and one of the greatest vocal soundtracks ever truly have this game earning a 9/10 Expand

The only reason this game doesn't get a 10 from me is that it didn't do *enough* to move away from the Persona 4 formula, and improve on it in *every* way. It is evident that those who played 3 and 4, while still getting really into the game, will realize it isn't 100% over the previous, and it is likely because it is a different game, however, if up to today I still feel like 4 pulled me in stronger than 5- it means this is better as an entry for new players than for old players.

There is still no denying the game is amazing. Story-wise the game doesn't shy from some serious commentary, and gameplay-wise it's simple yet has layers (like its story and themes! Wow, almost like it's an excellently designed game).

In short, buy, play, and try this game out.

The positve point is that the story is very interesting, and is quite cool since it is between past and present, so everytime you continue you wander what happened before you get in that moment of the future.

Gameplay is amazing, very interesting and battles have a awesome difficult level, it really makes very strategic the game.

In Persona 5, the protagonist and his friends are high school students who become The Phantom Thieves of Hearts, noble burglars if you will. In continuity with this "noble burglars" theme, there is even reference to Arsène Lupin, the fictional gentleman thief and master of disguise created in 1905 by French writer Maurice Leblanc (the game's protagonist also lives in the attic of a coffee shop named after Leblanc).

As a japanese teenager you have to socialise with others and upgrade your social stats which affect your party. As The Phantom Thieves Of Hearts you have to save the world by entering another reality and fighting monsters. Unlike other JRPGs though, you can't play this game leisurely, because your actions cause in-game time to pass, and you often have a set amount of in-game days to complete dungeons, or it's game over. Thankfully though the time limits are generous.

Combat plays out in turn-based battles. Outside main story missions, there is a randomly generated series of dungeons, to farm XP and money, or even complete side quests. The boss fights have mini puzzles to figure out, or these can be hinted at by the game.

The combination of a social simulator and a dungeon crawler makes for a super addictive formula. Seriously, Persona 5 is so immersive that I couldn't stop playing till late at night.

The game is simply beautiful and stylish. The OST is great, there are even a few good songs you can listen to. You can choose from the japanese and english voice over.

My only complaint is that, no matter how great a game Persona 5 is, its structure hasn't changed since Persona 4. Also, I have grown tired of the "teenagers save the world while the stupid adults can do nothing" theme. Can we have a Persona game starring 20-years-old university students instead of high school teenagers? In my opinion it would fit better with the overall theme of the series.

Overall, Persona 5 is easily the best JRPG in this generation.

Atlus brings us another installment in the Persona series, this being my first time playing in the history of the franchise, should this prevail justice or should it have just stayed in Momentos? let's find out.

In Persona 5 you play as a high school boy who has just been transferred to Shujin Academy in Tokyo, forced to leave his home after being put on probation for being framed for assault of which he did not commit. Your character stays with a guardian by the name of Sojiro, and upon arriving there you realize there is a strange looking eye app on your phone and you delete it and unfortunately, it keeps popping up on your phone. When you arrive at Shujin Academy you are pretty much the most hated student there because of your criminal past, it isn't until the second or third day you meet Ryuji and Morgana; you are on your way to school and somehow the eye app on your phone activates itself taking you to another world where people who need a change of heart are showing their distorted desires and showing what they think is rightfully theirs, in this case, a palace so your job is to go through the palaces and steal their treasures to change their hearts. After the first occurrence, Morgana explains to you how you are a phantom thief, someone who can go to another world and change the hearts of others, but it is a little more complicated than that in this case, you have to find your next target whether it be a big time crime boss, politician, teacher or hacker; find out where their palace is, invade it, find the treasure, send the calling card, fight this person in order to steal their treasure and this will change their heart. As you progress through the game you will find more companions to go through the palaces with you, Seven others if I am not mistaken.

The Gameplay in Persona 5 is nothing like I have ever seen before when you are in the palaces you use stealth a lot to ambush your enemies, once you get into a battle it is turn based. This Persona is a bit different from what I have heard you can not grind in 5 as much as you could in others which is unfortunate especially when you want to level up; not only do you level up but your companions do as well and your personas. When you are not out changing the hearts of authority figures you are living your life like a normal high schooler, studying, hanging out with friends, holding down a job, having relationships, taking school tests and exam, and so much more. As you progress through the game you will see your relationships increase with your friends and others which give your perks in and out of the castles.

Persona 5 was one of those games if I was not playing it I was thinking about it or talking about it, a great game that really brought me into the love of the JRPG world.

    Persona 5: 9.5/10

I gave the game a closer look and this rarely ever happens with me but I was a little off beat. The talking cat lady thingy sold me and the story isn't trash. So now I give this game a 8 or a 9. Some where around there. It's a good one. The replay value is worth your money and the crazy art direction makes it stand out. It's worth your money : )

Like I said though. I'm not a big fan of these types of games but you know what? You got to give credit where it's due... I'm not a big fan of basket ball for example but Tim Duncan is a pretty good player.

Also... This company doesn't have a reputation of screwing over it's franchise and fanbase. I did some research and Atlus is not EA, Microsoft, Activision, or Ubisoft. They don't suck nearly as much balls as those companies do. Atlus even helped get games like Demon souls to Americans. I support these guys in the gaming industry 100% even if it seems like they are really into Japanese anime to the point where they probably snort sushi like crack cocaine.

Persona 5 does an excellent job of taking old school gameplay and making it feel new. It improves on Persona 4 in almost every way. Probably the biggest flaw ofPersona 5 does an excellent job of taking old school gameplay and making it feel new. It improves on Persona 4 in almost every way. Anyone who likes turn based story driven JRPGs will most likely love this game. Persona 4 was the first game in the series that I played and while I liked it a lot there were several areas that I thought the game was very weak. Probably the biggest flaw of Persona 4 was that the dungeons were crap. In that regard Persona 5 is a dramatic improvement and it doesn't stop there. Atlus should be commended for staying true to the core gameplay that makes Persona what it is while also evolving. It is a great example of how consistent iteration is often better than changing the formula entirely.

In terms of gameplay Persona 5 offers a lot more than 4 did. The combat is pretty similar but this time there are more options. Adding guns and hold ups in combat really helps to make each encounter feel more interesting and breaks up the monotony of grinding. Another thing I really like is that as your relationships with team members improve you get more options with them in battle, such as the ability to pass the baton after a knock down. It would have been nice to have the ability to perform combos with team mates but hopefully they will include something like that in the next game. Outside of combat, dungeon crawling is much better, there is now a stealth element to every dungeon and there are also puzzles to solve. Some of the puzzles were mediocre but each palace offers different ones so at least it stays fresh. Activities in the overworld are also pretty diverse this time. I would have liked to see more interactive game elements but for a story driven game it isn't the priority. While combat is pretty good I did find that it got repetitive in certain areas, the Momentos sections in particular were quite boring. Another weak point is that decision making in conversation has very little affect on the story itself. The blend of combat, dungeon crawling and social sim were really well balanced though and I rarely found myself bored. For a 150 hour game that's an accomplishment.

The Story was really what made Persona 4 great for me and Persona 5 has a story that is even better. This time there are far more villains and each one offers subplots that eventually tie together into a much bigger conspiracy. The game does an excellent job of gradually ramping up the stakes and revealing new twists as your group delves progressively deeper into the mystery of the metaverse. Each boss and party member offers a compelling story but what makes this game so great is how all of the stories tie together and make sense. While the story is very anime and certainly doesn't take itself seriously all the time, it knows how to be serious when it needs to be and almost nothing that happens in the story feels random. One problem I did have with the story though is that some of the arcs were far less impressive than others. Of course I don't expect all of the story lines to be equal but I thought the Kamoshida story line was far better than most of the others . That story line felt personal, the characters were all connected to him and had interactions with him that made you feel the rage that the characters felt. After his palace the next two felt very lack luster.

Characters are another strong point for Persona and I think Persona 5 once again improves on 4. For example Morgana is a much more complex character than Teddie was. There are a lot of characters and nearly all of them are well developed. My only major complaint is that while the characters are developed they aren't nuanced, they wear their personalities on the outside. There is very little of the subtle emotions that real people have. It is too bad because early in the game there were hints of that. The first interactions with Anne were great unfortunately her character becomes more one tone as the story progresses. Still the sheer number of characters and the fact that they all have decent stories makes this game stand well above the majority. Though it isn't quite on the level of something like the Witcher 3.

Visually this game is full of style and has a super clean look. It doesn't have nearly the level of detail as something like Horizon Zero Dawn but everything looks appealing and is thought out. Each dungeon is unique and full of thoughtful choices. Some of the bosses are very creative. Some areas like Momentos were a bit bland though.

Sound design is mostly great. All of the voice acting seemed on point. Even when the voices were a bit weird it usually seemed to fit the character. The sound track is good but there were times that it would grate on me. In Momentos the soundtrack is awful and can be infuriating after hours of play. The boss music is great though and the soundtrack is overall really unique.

It is really rare that a game gets me this invested in its story, world and characters.

    I give it 89%

The story of the game is centered around defeating the corruption caused by the adults that run society as well as finding freedom from the chains of society, whereas Persona 3's main theme was death and Persona 4's main theme was identity and truth, and the story presented here is absolutely stellar, featuring twists and turns that actually made me jump up and down with excitement or had me gripping my controller so hard it threatened to snap in half. It's probably the most cathartic story Atlus has made for Persona, and by the credits I was filled with such a good feeling, one I rarely feel when I finish a game. 90 hours of this game and it definitely had its impact on me.

The game breaks off a bit from Personas 3 and 4, and though it shares its combat system, the style and flair of it all has been bumped up to 11. The stylized graphics look amazing and the lights and sounds of battle feel so cool. Additional elements brought back from even before Persona 3 like nuclear and psionic skills make a comeback, and guns are brought back from the first game as an extra method of attack. In battle, new mechanics are added, such as the ability to corner enemies when you down them with their weaknesses, allowing you to negotiate with them for money, items, or even have them join your cause as a new Persona. Or you could skip that and initiate the normal all-out attack, cutting to a red background silhouette of you and your party tearing the enemy to shreds before finishing it off with a stylish cut-in. No doubt, the game has style points in spades.

The day-to-day living aspect is standard Persona fare. You choose how you use your time, improving your social statistics by studying or seeing a scary movie, or hanging out with friends to increase their social links. The social link system is now called the Confidant system, though it's the same thing. However, there is more incentive to seek out these people and grow your bonds with them, as special bonuses can be attained through this method, such as the ability to give your extra turn after downing an enemy to them to follow up with their own element focusing on a different enemy to bring them down as well, or even giving you unique abilities such as the ability to instantly win battles through ambush on lower level enemies, or the ability to start out a battle after an ambush with a flurry of gunfire. As standard, the characters are very human, each with their own struggles and personality quirks that makes them fun to hang around, and they grow in character the same way you do.

One thing changed is the fusion system, which is basically the same, but you're now able to choose which skills you inherit, taking out the frustration of having to deal with a random system that often doesn't give you what you want, which was borrowed from Persona 4 Golden. Borrowed from Persona 3 Portable is the skill card system, letting you acquire certain skills and grant them to any Persona you want. It feels more in-depth than in the old PS2 titles, and really lets you take hands-on control of the Personas you create.

The dungeons have been changed as well. Instead of being the randomly generated dull hallways that P3 and P4 have, they are actually fully crafted levels to explore. Puzzles and platforming come into play as you navigate the unique dungeons, with variations of themes and navigation in each one. Jumping over chandeliers in one dungeon and crawling through tunnels in another, solving a complex lock system here and playing dice in the next. Each dungeon is unique in theme and method of solving, and they all are bright and colorful with lots to see and do.

The music, as always, is amazing, with its own style and themes that are awesome to listen to, even outside of gameplay.

The only real problem I have with the game is that it's hands down the most restrictive Persona game I've played. There will be whole weeks where you're forced to go directly home from school and straight to bed without being able to do anything all because "oh, story, though." These segments just feel so annoying and I find myself skipping through them just so I can continue actually doing things. You end up missing out on valuable time you could've been using going through dungeons or hanging out with friends or boosting your social stats and NO, MORGANA, I DON'T WANT TO GO TO F***ING SLEEP, I WANT TO GO OUTSIDE AND DO STUFF! WHADDYA MEAN I CAN'T FEED MY PLANT? WHAT, I'M TOO TIRED TO FEED MY PLANT?! ARGH!!

Persona 5 definitely feels like its own game, recognizing what made the others great and running with that, adding its own unique style and streamlining many clunky aspects of the previous titles. Persona 3 and 4 are amazing games, and Atlus definitely had those in mind when making Persona 5. The game is stellar, and is an easy contender for Game of the Year.

P5 is the most stylish and visually-pleasing game I've ever experienced - the amount of thought and effort that must've gone into every single screen/animation is insane. The characters, story and gameplay are all fantastic too - I don't think I've ever played a 100+ hour long game before that I never got bored with and never felt was dragging on at any point, but P5 changed that.

never heard of them, I just didn't pay attention. Then I saw the
trailer for this game and the stylish, animated segments and I knew I
had to play this and was not disappointed.

    GAMEPLAY:

The game is a combination of a traditional RPG and social simulator.
Half-the time you're fighting monsters and the other half is spending
time with people, working, studying etc.

Doing everyday things doesn't sound fun in theory, but you soon become
immersed in this world. All the characters you meet are interesting and
you can see twelve people's personal stories unfurl. The world is
varied with many things to do and places to visit. All these tasks will
help either get more money, increase your statistics, or unlock new
    fighting abilities.

The big frustration about the real world stuff is you won't have
enough time to do everything. The game is on a strict schedule and you're
expected to complete levels by certain dates. There is a + game that
carries over your weapons, Personas, etc., which make things easier.
However, considering that it almost took me a hundred hours to finish,
you probably wouldn't want to replay anytime soon.

I also find an aspect of the dating option uncomfortable. You're a high
school student, but you can date three adults. Kind of creepy.

The RPG section is fun, but can be a bit aggravating. I like that the
game keeps to old-school turn-based combat. It kind of combines Final
Fantasy and Pokemon. It has some interesting things I haven't seen
before. Instead of merely defeating villains, you can also negotiate
with enemies for the money, items, or for you to join them.

The levels are all unique taking place in different formats, such as a
castle, a museum, a bank, etc. They all offer unique aspects in their
design. It's not just the same corridors.

I commend the game for requiring more strategy than some RPGs. But fighting
can be frustrating. There is a lot of level grinding in this. A lot.
Difficulty can be inconsistent, foes can go from easy to hard at the
drop of a hat. Though once you've leveled enough, things get fairly
easy. The most difficult parts are the first level when you don't have
much a chance of leveling up and the space level where the majority of
villains are immune to physical attacks. (Plus the level is a bit of a
slog in general. Prepare for some frustration.)

    GRAPHICS:

The game looks great. It has an anime style to it as well as a lot of
anime cut-scenes. It has this very stylish look to this. The monsters are all designed after mythological/religious beings and are both bizarre and impressive. The dungeon levels stand out as some of the most unique I've seen. They take place in the subconscious and have this fantastic quality to them. They also throw you in the deep end with this. Needed more in-depth tutorials. SOUND: This game has an acid jazz soundtrack and it sounds pretty cool and high-energy throughout. PLOT: Characters are strong. The theme of the story is them fighting corruption. Things get progressively tense as the threat rises and the plot points seem earned. Though a long game (the final bit really stretches out), they at least make your struggle worth it. (Unlike Ni No Kuni for instance). There a lot of animated cut-scenes and the ending is suitably robust. Persona 5 is a cinematic, immersive experience that I recommend.

Most of the characters are very enjoyable and the plot had me actually feeling emotions, like a real human. The mature storyline and the accuracy of how Baby Boomers and Gen-Xer’s will sacrifice their children’s lives for their own materialistic wealth is incredibly spot on. Combat and exploration have been refined a bit since the last game and add some fun, new, and needed mechanics. The music is really good as well, just like the last game. They took everything about Persona 4, one of the best games on PS2 and made it better. If you missed the last one, get ready for a real treat.

I only have two small gripes with the game. First, it has been ten years since the last Persona game but this feels as though this should have came out about 3-5 years after last one, not a decade. Sure, when compared to other Altus games, this is my favorite, but they don’t live a vacuum, they compete in a market with other game companies. When you start to compare it to the innovations in gameplay of other RPG game designers, Persona 5 feels safe, meaning they didn’t take any risks in the game. We are currently in the beginning of a video game Renaissance and am not sure how my generation will take to the lack of new innovation here. Playing Persona 5 feels as though you are playing Persona 4 with refined gameplay and a different story. They added a couple of new mechanics to the game which makes the series better but doesn’t revolutionize the RPG genre in any real way. I also wish they didn’t guide you so much. After so many my good open world and RPG games over the last decade it is a bit difficult to go back to such a linear game where it feels very little of your choices matter in the end; don’t go in expecting Witcher 3 level freedom. They may really need to change things up a bit if they plan on coming out with a sequel in the future. Still, these small complaints pale in comparison the rest of the game, which is great. This is still one of the best RPG games on PS4 and is the closest you can get to playing an anime. This game is highly recommended for RPG and anime fans, kids from all socio-economic status, and Millennials who don’t want to end up like our parents. EA and BioWare, buy this game so you can learn how to write a story and develop interesting characters that we can become attached to.

Well to be honest the first 10 hours I did not understand why everyone was so hyped about this game, it was OK/good and I had to adjust to the style. After 20-30 hours I started to really like the story and characters. This was a very slow start but after seeing the ending at 103 hours I was sad this journey ended with all these lovable characters. I have to compain though about the length of the game. I think I would have liked the game more of they would have shortened every of those long ass dungeons by maybe one hour each. Traveling down to Mementos was also quite boring. I think they should have fit that game into 60 hours and made all other stuff post game content. I also didn't really like this forced linear time management at first. I think it shoul have been possible to use more time on a single day....that was annoying sometimes. On the other hand the fighting system is very very good and the style together with most of it's OST is also very good. The graphics are just OK to be hones. This game is certainly a niche game and I can understand if a lot of people don't like it but if you are into JRPG or you carry an affinity to japanese stuff this is for you. And it's one of the best PS4 games of you look at it objectively, though personally I liked Nier Automata more (GOTY !!) . Currently I am into Zelda somewhere and that order my change. But right now not.

I initially wanted to give this an 8, but I bumped it up to a 9 because the presentation, aesthetic, and execution is off the charts. Persona 5 is an addictive JRPG that will prove difficult to even put down the controller.

The story follows you, a Tokyo High-Schooler that attends Shujin Academy. You have been accepted there due to you having a criminal record, be it false. The story is a key point in the Persona franchise, usually following this formula, you being a Japanese high schooler with supernatural powers (With exception of Persona 2. The cast are actually adults). The narrative follows you and your other friends, who have Personas, and dubbed yourself the Phantom Thieves of Hearts. You go through palaces, otherworldly settings in the metaverse, where you can summon your powers. You 'steal' hearts from rotten adults, and when you steal the heart/treasure in the metaverse, they'll confess their sins in the real world.

The RPG section of the game comes in the palaces, and another randomly generated palace of sorts called momentos. However, you also have to balance your everyday life and stay out of trouble, since you're on probation. Perform well in school, increase confidant levels, or social links, and improve your stats and buy/make tools to use in the metaverse. You can also hang out with friends you develop in the game.

Personas belong to arcana, or a group of shadows (enemies in palaces) and personas that share traits. Persona may be grouped in an arcana due to physical appearance, mythology, personality, and/or stats. Hanging out with confidants improves the power level of persona's you can make in the arcana they pride in. This happens in the infamous velvet room, taking form as a jail now.

In Persona 1 and 2, the Velvet room was just a room, with Igor, the boss of it, residing there. In Persona 3 it became an elevator, and in Persona 4, it was a limousine. The velvet room in Persona 5 is my favorite so far, since the fusion is done grimly yet stylishly.

Speaking of style, this game is bringing all of it. It's beautiful, loud, and in your face (But in a good way). The game has hues of red dancing across it, and shades of white and black accompanying it.

Characters in this game are amazing as well. They fall into some anime tropes, but have unique traits that pull them away from them, making it trouble to decide which story you want to learn first. The settings in this game are really realistic to modern day Tokyo, and immerse you into the metaverse, with an uneasy feel in them.

The story this time focusses on freedom and oppression. I won't say anymore, because I made the summary above a little spoiler-y.

Finally, the music is lovely, and it presents a cooler feel, with a calm, jazzy background. Truly, my only complain is the camera in sneak portions of the game, since it can be really gimmicky, and mess you up. All my game overs so far were due to the camera, delivering some frustration to me.

Persona 5 is a Brilliant JRPG that any one remotely interested in should own.

The main gameplay of persona 5 is like the previous ones, except this time it adds a stealth mechanic to the mix. The stealth works fine on it's own, but sometimes it can be frustrating, The actual combat is great, and plays out like a standard persona ARRPEEGEE. You find the ability the enemy is weak to, and then make the rest of the fight a cakewalk, for whenever you encounter that enemy again. There's also a lot of good bosses, and great puzzles. Not too hard for newcomers, and not too easy for veterans. The story is actually pretty interesting, and I got into it once I started meeting all of my companions, which may fall into the typical persona companion chart(As I call it). But they get the job done.

There are only two minor problems with this game though. If you play on easy or below, the combat can get boring pretty quickly, because I mean...IT'S EASY, and the tutorial is awful. The tutorial is pretty much the first dungeon in the whole game, and will annoy you. But I recommend being patient and going through it, because once you get your full party, it just teaches you some minor things, an mostly lets you go wild.

I recommend Persona 5 to any fan, or newcomer to the series. It's not as difficult as the previous games, with the inclusion of Safemode(For newcomers), but if you crank it to Normal or Hard, it'll give you a good challenge.

Also you can make the perfect curry, and coffee in this game. It's beautiful

For the 'first timer' persona this is THE game. Really good graphic, gameplay, interaction, and the story is so dense that all ages can enjoy it. The game is really about classic JRPG with the persona battle and grinding system. its good but at the late game you will find it a little bit boring of grinding. you need to go for the story and develop your character skill beside in the battleFor the 'first timer' persona this is THE game. For me, i need 90+ hours to finish the first gameplay, i want to try play the new game+ but i dont have any motivation because of the looooonnnnngggg story and battle that i have to encounter again.

Overall Persona 5 is a great game, you can enjoy your life as an 'ordinary' human being at day but with persona you can be a high school student with some extraordinary power

Persona 5 is an absolutely amazing game that convinces with its art style, music and story. It has anything one could ask for such a game and more. The turn-based battle system offers a wide array of opportunities. While it may not be everyone's cup of tea, it is definitely recommended to give it a go.

Persona 5 beats every other turn-based RPG in terms of production values, combat, story, symbolics, character design, music, pace and variety. 2017 is a great year for gaming and Persona 5 confirms this with a load of unmatched swagger.
