    I just can't describe how great this game is for me.
    About half a year ago I've put about 120+ hrs in it, did everything for the platinum trophy and I don't regret any minute spent with this game.
    If you have PS4 or PS5, then Persona 5 Royal is absolutely must-play for you. Storyline is great, music is incredibly good (ATLUS PLEASE ADD ROYAL OST TO SPOTIFY), combat system and art style,    I just can't describe how great this game is for me.

    If you have PS4 or PS5, then Persona 5 Royal is absolutely must-play for you.
    Storyline is great, music is incredibly good (ATLUS PLEASE ADD ROYAL OST TO SPOTIFY), combat system and art style, lastly the multi-dimensional characters (alongside with great English voice cast).
    This game is worth every penny.
    I've decided to play Persona 5 Royal for the second time after watching Persona 5 Animation (with the intention of obtaining another Platinum Trophy; P5R has multiple platinum lists for each region) and its even better!

    I made an account just review this game, it's honestly astonishing the level of care and personality that has been woven into this game in every aspect. Its a game that constantly surpasses my expectations and has hours upon hours of content to get sucked into. the story, characters and settings are fantastic. It's such an amazingly chill but eye opening game it's very multidimensional!     Disadvantages: Okumura arc still sucks as well as his palace, This should be sold as a DLC for the Persona 5 especially for those who already got the original game, because of the new game and combat mechanics this    Good old Persona 5 that was enhanced in every way possible.

    Directamente, obra maestra de los JRPG. Sistema de combate y de los personas divertido, historia que mezcla temas serios con otros de cachondeo, la parte que se convierte en una visual novel, musica fuera de la escala.
    Tiene cosas negativas, tal vez una duracion demasiado exagerada, dialogos repetitivos, la dificultad en mi opinion, mal calibrada. Pero el resto de cosas lo convierten en    Directamente, obra maestra de los JRPG. Sistema de combate y de los personas divertido, historia que mezcla temas serios con otros de cachondeo, la parte que se convierte en una visual novel, musica fuera de la escala.

    It has nice graphics, an engaging story, good gameplay and a memorbale combat system. the characters genuinely interest you and you care about them, the game in parts takes you by the hand but really anything you do feels like an achievement the musical section is simply captivating and beautiful, several songs    the game is simply perfect you could call it perfecting the perfect.

    Although the game is very long since I had to play 170 hours of play, those 170 hours are too entertaining and you do not feel that it has been wasted time, you are left wanting more since the game manages to make you be inside the game

    It doesn't matter if you don't know anything about a person or you've never played their games, the game will still make you enjoy it.

    This version is totally definitive since apart from more content it implements more things and the new character is quite endearing, and thank heavens it added the Spanish language which is the language that I speak so it was quite pleasing on the part of the developers already that this was something that was criticized in Latin America and Spain.

    One of my favorite games of all time- plot, characters, character development, gameplay, music, especially music, are all top-notch. Also just like the rest of the Persona games, really enjoy bonding and building relationships with all of the characters.

    This is just persona 5 but better in every way possible. I really liked the additions to the less fun parts of the original making them improved by a lot which is greatly appreciated if you played persona 5 before playing royal.

    Jesus Christ. In a world where it seems like every game is the same, the persona series came through the game swinging. with persona 5 royal being my first game in the series I did not know what to expect. But persona 5 showed me an experience that I don’t think that I could ever forget.

When he was announced my friend who is big into jrpgs was really exited, so I asked him if it was good and that’s what leads me to this point where I have played through the whole game twice. The game is truly magnificent, The only gripe that I had with the game was that it seemed a little grindy/confusing when it comes to leveling up or getting new personas, although it’s probably my inexperience with rpg systems. Other than that the game is literally flawless, once I did a little research I figured out how the system truly worked and now I’m playing persona 4 golden on vita!    … Expand

    You find times where after class a character suggests actions like go fight or hang out and you don't want to dismiss them, you very well choose a path you want.

    And now to the other side of the game the dungeons, with cool puzzles and hard enemies you will spend hours finding paths managing heath and sp while figuring out if you ant to progress or explore for items.

    There is so much more I could go on for but I will leave it here for now and day that you 100% should play this game.    … Expand

The things that were disliked in the original game are made way more enjoyable as well! Royal also adds new features to the game like: more facial animations, new characters, new quests, multiple new endings, a new palace, a new area to the game, and probably the best boss fight in the Persona series so far!     This game was a blast to play. I've been wanting to play this game ever since it came out and when I finally got to play earlier this year, I had fun most of the time I was playing. There was one dungeon in the game that I didn't enjoy in the slightest, but I think the extra dungeon that Royal added at the end of the game made up for it. The characters were mostly enjoyable, the visualsThis game was a blast to play. I've been wanting to play this game ever since it came out and when I finally got to play earlier this year, I had fun most of the time I was playing.     This might be the best game I've ever played. It's stylish, memorable, character rich, unique and most importantly, fun and immersive. Its characters are incredible, from protagonists to antagonists everyone is so compelling and likable. It's stylish, memorable, character rich, unique and most importantly, fun and immersive. Its characters are incredible, from protagonists to antagonists everyone is so compelling and likable. The story is great, and it does something that so many others in the genre neglect, which is making a truly morally grey villain. As someone who loves JRPGs, sometimes the villains are simple and evil, and there's no doubt that taking them down is doing the right thing, but Persona 5 Royal takes that idea and tosses it a massive middle finger. The music is memorable and so incredible, that I've been and will be listening to it years down the line. Its gameplay is absolutely unmatched in the Persona series, and may be the best turn-based combat experience I've ever enjoyed. I absolutely adore everything about this game. It doesn't hold the same special place in my heart as Persona 4, but this is in my opinion by far and away the best game in the amazing Persona franchise. This may be my favourite game of all time.     Game play is very good. I don't have much problem with it other than it being too easy. While it is a turn based game, I dont get bored playing this game like I do with other turn based game. I dont really know why that is, maybe it is because of all the flashy spectacle.

    The music is great and also somehow this game made the UI one of its main selling point. I never seen such a good UI and menu before.

    Original Persona 5 was already my favorite game and this game is that but better. They fixed many problems and added new things compared to Persona 5. Thieves den is my favorite part of the game.

    If you liked Persona 1-4, Persona 5 will be a real treat.

    I’m not really into JRPGs but this game stole my heart from the beginning. It has an amazing story with well written characters and a really fun gameplay with a stylish art style. I highly recommend it.

    First JRPG I played which was a blast in all regards. Story, characters, turn-based gameplay, city and dungeon exploration, diologues, life-management, and hanging out with friends. My favourite game.

    This is by far the best JRPG I have ever played, everything in this game (except for maybe one section) is done perfectly. The base persona 5 was already amazing but royal is even better. this game is a masterpiece.

I liked the revamped baton pass and new area to give your team buffs, but this also lessens the difficulty of the game. The new added things after each confidant are nice. With the rest of the phases being basically interactive cutscenes. They try to almost justify the actions of the new villain, which I didn’t understand. The added story of this upgraded edition simply feels like a cut below the rest of the games. Whereas P4G’s new content answered an unanswered question, and P3F does something similar but also shows the aftermath of the original. P5R tries to ask where the moral line is drawn for the new villain’s actions, while the fact there’s a dungeon by the game’s logic means it’s bad. It just feels like the new story is simply unnecessary and should’ve been shorter than it was. A good pickup if you liked the game originally or haven’t checked it out, but I definitely feel like they could’ve done more.… Expand

    Persona 5 Royal, the re-release of one of the best JRPGs of all time. Does it feel as good as the original? I personally believe it might even be better.

    The story will grab you almost immediately as you are thrust into dealing with problems in your school. Your original team is effected by these issues and so you contend with one of the most vile human beings I remember playing against.

    Immediately interesting and gripping. The story is then taken on a tour of issues facing modern Japanese society and does not let up. Well…

    Ok I hate everything that happens around palace 5. Past the forced conflict and certain characters getting benched for the rest of the game I also dislike the palace itself. Some of the most annoying enemies, an annoying portal puzzle and the worst bossfight designed for this game. Luckily it saves itself by being followed up by arguably the palace in the game with Whims of Fate being the game signaling to the player: The garbage part is over, enjoy the best palace in the game.

    On the topic of the OST, I finished the original P5 two separate times and Royal was my third playthrough of this generation's Persona. The fact that after three playthroughs I still absolutely adore Beneath the Mask serves as a proof of how goated the soundtrack is.

    The newly added part of town offers more opportunities to bond with people and even give your teammates access to Persona skills they would not normally have. The re-release putting emphasis on technical attacks is one of the changes I enjoyed greatly.

    The added social links serve well to add more character to people like Akechi, who I never could respect in the base game. I actually like him after doing his brand new social link and finishing the Third Semester.

    There are many more things to talk about but I will keep it brief. In the day and age of games coming out broken and unfinished Persona 5 came out a beautiful game that even stylized its menus. You have western AAA studios releasing broken trash every year and Persona comes out working, with stylized menus.     I absolutely love the persona franchise, i adore all the characters from persona 5 and loved the new characters they added. I can never get bored of this game, hopefully more comes from it and we see our favourite characters again

    Took everything good about the original and improved everything the story is improved with more background on Akechi and Maruki is a brilliant addition that adds another interesting element to the story. The art the music the story incredible the gameplay may not be there for some it’s very text heavy and story based but for me it’s basically perfect.

And for the price of the game you get a lot of content. Music, story, graphics, style, all of it so far is pretty on point, there are a few little nit-picks I have here and there, but they're so small, they really don't take anything away from the game as a whole.… Expand

    I finally got to play my first Persona game and I'm so glad I got to do it by taking my time with it. This game is fantastic! At this point, there is not much I need say to praise it, since it has been beloved enough ever since its vanilla release, back in 2016, but I'll say a few things.

    This is probably the most stylish game I've ever played. From the menus, to story presentation,    I finally got to play my first Persona game and I'm so glad I got to do it by taking my time with it. This game is fantastic! At this point, there is not much I need say to praise it, since it has been beloved enough ever since its vanilla release, back in 2016, but I'll say a few things.

    This is probably the most stylish game I've ever played. From the menus, to story presentation, characters, personas and the entire combat system - Everything oozes style! It seems complicated at first, but you'll easily fall in love with how the game looks, sounds and plays with ease as you move forward.
    Although this is a traditional turn-based RPG, I just love how it tries its best to make EVERYTHING different! Battles are fast-paced and energetic, bosses are epic, story is heavy but light to absorb, the way you handle traditional mechanics on a JRPG (like HP, MP, items and etc) are completely different here and that's all due to the INCREDIBLE amount of depth that the system has. Fusing and hunting Personas always gives you something new and also a sense of progression that pays off when you battle (or outside of battles too). It's an incredible system that blends very well with the rest of the overall tone.
    Outside from palaces, fights and personas, there's an entire "real life simulation" that works very well. Nothing feels like a chore here and every side or main character tells an interesting story. It all just matters in the end! When the game says "Take your time" during load screens, they actually mean it, because managing it and experiencing the perks you get from it, is more than half of the game.
    Also, the soundtrack is superb. Every single song.
    Haven't felt like that with a soundtrack since Zelda BOTW.

    My complains that prevents this game from getting a perfect 10 lies in how overwhelmingly huge it can be - and unnecessarily so!
    TOO many tutorials, TOO many systems, conversations, mechanics, things to remember, things to do, Personas to acquire, confidants, statuses, items... It's all TOO MUCH! You will NOT experience all you can from only one playthrough, but playing 145 hours of it AGAIN won't come cheap and won't come soon. I love the amount of content and uniqueness in Royal, but it can feel very bloated, at times. Specially with so many missable things going on.
    Despite loving the story and characters, sometimes I felt that the writing and pacing was inconsistent and a tad repetitive. Nothing that broke my immersion from it, but it bothered me a little.
    Bosses were good, but not all of them. There were some great ones, but most felt very gimmicky. And what's up with Futaba?? She's a GREAT character, but seldom useful in fights! Why not just make her a regular character???

    Persona 5 is one of the most special and modern JRPGs ever. It packs an impactful story, with a meaningful and beautiful message, boxed inside a myriad of addictive gameplay mechanics and systems. It feels like a glorified visual novel and RPG hybrid. It works perfectly and it deserves your attention.
    And well, even if you don't have the time to play this behemoth, just give the OST a try, ok?

So let's recap important things that can help you to decide if you should play Persona 5 (Royal) or not.

    - First, there are a lots, lots of cut-scenes and dialogues, so if you're the kind of player that generally skip those because you find it boring, the game is not for you
    - You are not free to do whatever you want whenever you want, there is a calendar and schedules to respect, it is not like The Witcher 3 for example
    - Combats are turn based like in old school RPGs
    - It takes place in Japan, and you are playing as a japanese student
    - Game length is pretty long (120 to 150 hours for this Royal edition) with a very slow paced that you can't really rush because of the calendar aspect
    - Personae can reminds Pokemons (in a more complex way), as you can collect them and level up them to unlock new abilities, they also have the system of strenghts and weaknesses to various types of element
    - The game often introduce serious matters like abuse, suicide and more, it is not for children despite it's colorful anime graphic style
    - It is difficult to have an opinion based only on the few first hours as the tutorial is very long and new game mechanics can appears even after 25 hours of gameplay
    - Unlike Shin Megami Tensei and other Persona games, this one is very casual friendly, so you don't need to worry about the difficulty even if you're not used to play turn based RPGs, there are 5 different difficulty settings which should satisfied most of the players
    - To roughly sum it up, Persona 5 is a mix between Pokemon and a visual novel (but don't take that too seriously, because i'm myself not a huge fan of Pokemon or visual novels, however i love Persona)

    If you're cool with everything i just listed above, you should probably give a try to Persona 5, it is a wonderful Jrpg (probably the best one of this generation) that will keep you busy for a long, long time.    … Expand

Only reason it doesn't get a 10/10 because the Atlus had the audacity to put in paid content in a "definite" release for which you have to pay a full price without the ability to upgrade if u own the original version.

The new characters, Dr. Maruki and Kasumi, are great additions to the cast of Persona 5. However, I feel that Kasumi didn't quite live up to her potential as a party member.     And the music, what needs to be said about the music? I could sit here and name tracks and that'd be the end of the discussion, but the compositions and the vocals, along with how well each song fits its designed mood and scene, while also being great songs to listen to outside of the game itself is incredible.

    The story was really entertaining. I wouldn't call it necessarily incredible, while it was fun to watch I honestly can't think of something that was groundbreaking plot-wise, the characters and their interactions with everyone is such a joy to see. The voice-actors (I played with english dub, just for reference) really bring out the characters personalities with the smallest of details. Off the top of my head, Ryuji is probably the greatest example. You can tell so much about his personality, genuinely simply from a few stutters.

    Its a long game. Veerryyy long by casual standards, I beat the main story (while doing a few extra things, like getting all the Mementos stamps) at around 122 hours, and just booted up new game plus immediately. This game has made it into my top 10 of all time. This game is a masterpiece.

Story addition is also great and I like new ending much more than original one. Story addition is also great and I like new ending much more than original one. I'm glad that they added more voice acting this time around but seriously I'm a little bit tired of jRPG not having a full voice acting from beginning till the end.     Descatar el esfuerzo que se ha hecho para hacer un tutorial completo y divertido.
    La historia es mucho mejor que la mayoría de los animes que he visto.
    Tienes una infinidad de dicisiones que tomar pero afecta poco al resultado final.

Loved the additions to this game, the plot changes were interesting and there was enough new content for players who played the original game as well. The only dislikes I had were that Okumura's palace and boss fight still feel like a drag to do and the game still favors to people who are straight so I didn't care about the dating. Still the mona human scenes was insanely funny. Highly recommend this game.… Expand

    El juego es increíble, su historia es excepcional, sistema de combate, música... Casi todo es perfecto en persona 5 Royal, ya que el doblaje español coño, onda vital, a todo gas si deja un mal sabor de boca en algunas partes del juego... En todo lo demás es perfecto

    Persona 5 Royal allows players to experience the story they already love in a new way without losing any of the beauty from the original game. New and old characters get their chance to shine through and steal your heart, even the ones you never expected to. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, and maybe you’ll even feel a sense of justice for the infamous Phantom Thieves in the end. But one thing you won’t feel is regret in picking up Persona 5 Royal, as it’s truly the best Persona title, if not one of the best video games, I’ve ever experienced to date.

    This is not more of the same, this is not an optional add-on to the original game. This, my friends, is the perfect experience, down to the last letter, down to the last minute. Persona 5 Royal is a Japanese crown jewel.

    All of the new additions and content mean that Persona 5 Royal is a clear upgrade to the original. New players should seek this version without hesitation, although vets may find starting the game over from scratch to be too big an ask. Either way, there’s no doubt that Persona 5 Royal sits proudly on the throne of Peak Persona… or at least it will until Atlus decides they can do even more with it.
