I've been playing this game since release and while it is a cool hero based shooter game with loads of fun if you're playing with friends, the game is a snore-fest because of it's lack of content (only get's new content with seasonal events, and a new hero once every 4 months or so), slow ranking system (you only rank up fast if you're playing with friends, RIP solo players) and incrediblyI've been playing this game since release and while it is a cool hero based shooter game with loads of fun if you're playing with friends, the game is a snore-fest because of it's lack of content (only get's new content with seasonal events, and a new hero once every 4 months or so), slow ranking system (you only rank up fast if you're playing with friends, RIP solo players) and incredibly salty competitive mode. If you're new to the hero shooter games I could recommend this game, but if you've played your load of FPS games like Call of Duty or Battlefield, be prepared for a let down because while it may be fun in the beginning of the game, it gets boring real, real quick. I came from Team Fortress 2, expecting the exact same fun as in the game, and I certainly found it. Overwatch has three main roles, Tanks, who protect their teammates, Damage, the only role 70% of the player-base uses and Support, who I mainly play. I just want to say that playing as every hero feels unique, and extremely fun. But one of the core flaws I found with the game was how much the tanks slowed down the combat. If the other team has three tanks, it's absolutely painstaking to break through their defenses sometimes. Its combat is fast, which I really enjoy about it. Then, there are the Ultimate abilities, and most of them are pretty good. But I find that the ultimate economy destroys the main part of Overwatch, which is being able to switch quickly to a different hero to counter another one, as you lose all your Ult. Charge, and so are at a massive disadvantage. I heard a statement that I really related to, 'When it's fun, it's extremely fun. When it's bad, it is terrible.' I play this game only casually, and I hate having to have a coin flip if I'll like the match or not. I only really have fun with Control and Payload maps, which are much faster and give every Hero a decent opportunity. But you can't choose what maps you want to play, resulting in another coin-flip. Then there are the heroes, and while I think it's slightly important to make each one of your characters have distinct personalities, Blizzard took it to the next level. For a game with no campaign, it certainly tries to make you love every character, and get invested in the incredibly stereotypical Sci-Fi story. The game looks very nice, I won't lie about that at all, everything well-textured and very smooth. The soundtrack is pretty enjoyable, every map having its own special style of music, but nothing, except the excellent, uplifting main theme, really sticks out as amazing. So overall, as a world, Overwatch is pretty solid. But this is a game, and when the gameplay isn't all too enjoyable, the world means nothing. I don't hate Overwatch, in fact, I think it's pretty likeable, but it has key flaws like the Ult. economy, broken hero launches, the reliance on people switching, even though no-one wants to and the lack of a campaign. Buy only during a sale, honestly. Expand

Every character is unique in personality and design and very easy to differentiate them in game. The game is gorgeous and has a really cool unique style. The in game lore is very interesting and is shown through voice lines, character interactions, cosmetics, and Easter eggs in the maps. This is aided by great customization options such as skins and sprays that add more flare to the game. The maps are all very simple but effective in design. They're big and offer many different ways to approach your enemy's. You can really see the effort that went in to make sure each character is viable on every map. The objectives also offer intense and engaging moments to the match and every game something new seems to happen. Most of the heroes are super fun to play and are very unique and diverse. They're fun and mostly balanced with a few exceptions. Also some heroes just aren't as fun to play as others. Some of the main problems i have with this game is that the progression is very slow and the loot box system feels kinda cheap with how long it takes to obtain them. The game released pretty bare bones but after the first couple months the game modes, new heroes, maps, and other content helped improve the game. Overall a really great game and one of the best shooters in a long time with a few problems but overall very good. Expand

Balance is one of the things the game does excellently. While the game does have some minor balancing issues, it’s remarkable how excellent the balancing is throughout the many heroes despite how incredibly different each character plays. No other shooter had such minimal balancing issues yet so much character variety.
I also commend the game for avoiding any significant IAP’s or other unnecessary monetizations.

Segundo, es un juego puramente online, y estoy seguro que hay muchos FTP ahí fuera que hacen el mismo labor que este juego.

Overwatch is an online team based shooter that takes from a lot of other games, including MOBAS, arena shooters, and of course, other hero based games.

When it comes to gameplay, you have a choice between multiple characters, each one unique in its own way, and each one with unique abilities to use in order to turn the games in your favor. “Ultimates”, the special moves your characters can use, show the very simplistic and casual nature of the game. Most of the games can be won by the use of an ultimate at just the right time, rendering any amount of skill involved in the minutes prior, at times, completely pointless. Despite this, the casual nature of the game can make it appealing to all kinds of people, especially those who are not well experienced with proper shooting games, or would just like something easy to pick up and play to wind up and relax.

Overwatch issues do not lie in the fact that it tries hard to be something it was never meant to be - that is, a competitive multiplayer experience. Rather, they lie in both its community and its developers.
With such dedicated following of course, it’s crazy to think that toxicity wouldn’t be a thing. The online experience, in fact, can be quite disruptive and disappointing, more so here than in other similiar games, forcing some players to turn off voice communication entirely. Given the “social” nature of the game, this is a big problem. Not much effort has been made from the developers to fight this problem, and on top of that -gameplay wise- the balance between characters gets changed and modified ever so frequently in major and gameplay altering ways, leaving people who haven’t played in a while extremely confused once they finally come back. Character balancing is something that i’m sure most people would love to see more often in their multiplayer shooters, if it wasn’t for the fact that Overwatch developers seem to be ignoring crucial balancing needs and instead going their own way with changes that are, most of the time, unneeded and unnecessary.

The in game lootbox based economy allows you to unlock customization options for each character, either by leveling up and playing the arcade modes, or by getting them with real money. Each customization can be extremely pricey, depending on whether it is a a voice line or an appearance altering skin. Getting to the point where you’re able to finally unlock the item you want can take weeks and weeks, and it doesn’t help that some of the rare skins are locked behind seasonal events, which only grant you the chance to get the desired item for a short period of time, before getting locked again for another year. Luckily, gameplay isn’t affected in any way by skins and such, making players, technically, all at the same level of skill. This matchmaking system, unfortunately, doesn’t seem to work very well. It’s common to see way more experienced players getting matched up against newcomers and viceversa. This issue is amplified by the lessening of the overall player count seen in recent months, and its something newcomers will have to deal with whether they like it or not.

To sum it up, Overwatch is a simplistic and colorful shooter, with an appeal that will surely get the attention of the more casual crowd. It’s easy to fall in love with this game, but even easier to see its very apparent shortcomings. If you can get past the clueless developers and the atrocious community, you’ll find a very casual but enjoyable game, which becomes even better when played with friends.

Now lets talk about the player base 99% of them are idiots or they're in the age group of 6-12 and don't understand strategy. Let me give you a situation I'll be a tank with my whole team with me I initiate the fight low and behold my whole team ran off to hide somewhere with there thumbs up there asses not even close to the point that we need to capture or escort. Or we get people who insta-lock Widowmaker expecting to be a game changer and they completely suck as in 0 kills and 0 assists and 40 deaths.

Now another issue they have is ranked and I shouldn't get to much into this but lets say last season you placed gold. The next season comes around you do your placements and win every single one guess what rank you are oh right your gold! Cause there MMR system for placements are so abysmal that it actually ruins the game the only ranking system that does this. In any game I've ever played.

Kinda sad when a Free2play game (Paladins) has more content than a triple A game made by a billion dollar company.

I also like the design of most of the characters: McCree, Genji, Bastion, Sombra, there is plenty good here when it comes to the design of the characters.

    Then, there's everything else...

Straight to the point, outside of the online mode, there is very little content and almost non-existent single player content. I love single player games and are my favorite games to play. Overwatch has plenty of material to have single player content but nope. Instead it's almost exclusively online and for someone like me, it has very limited replay-ability. If this game had something akin to a single player campaign, I would cut it some slack. Also, no local multiplayer mode. Whoever thought that a game like Overwatch should not have a local multiplayer should be demoted. This game would have been much better if it had local multiplayer.

Overwatch's focus on strictly online really hurts the game by the lot. What if you don't have PS+, Xbox Live Gold or a good internet connection? And if you do get into a game, the online community isn't very helpful or encouraging as it has been quite notorious how bad or even cruel they can be. The game had to make up for people who do not want to play the game online but it doesn't and for people who are interested in the lore, they have to leave the game to get it's tidbits of lore. Leaving the game to understand it's lore and enrich it's universe is not good design.

This is a really disappointing game and it baffles me how people can consider this to be 2016's Game of the Year or even one of the best games of all time when there are much better games out there deserving of both those titles.

In the world of first-person-shooters, it’s very difficult to find original titles with individuality, variety, and overall creative ideas. But when the game studio, Blizzard, took it upon themselves to create their own FPS title, they manufactured a gaming Giant. While Overwatch is very similar to other games in the class-based FPS genre such as Valve’s Team Fortress 2 and Gearbox’s Battleborn, It manages to stand out in its own way with its creativity, visuals, and overall addictive nature. Sadly, while the game doesn't have an actual campaign, Overwatch’s story is explained in the very beginning when the player first boots up the game. As told by the intelligent ape scientist, Winston, in the distant future, mankind became careless, and the machines they built rose up and raged war against them for dominance. So in a last attempt of desperation to reestablish peace, Overwatch was assembled. An elite team made up of the best soldiers, fighters, minds, and prodigies in the world. The attempt was a success. Overwatch helped settle the war and establish world Peace. However, because of that, Overwatch was disbanded due to the fact that they weren't needed anymore. But after horrible tragedy kept occurring many years later, Winston contacts all of the Overwatch members to reunite and fight for what's right once again. In terms of the game’s visuals, Overwatch boasts an expansive, dazzling color palette with stunning three-dimensional graphics and resolution that really lends itself to the game's overall appeal. And the roster of playable heroes in Overwatch is probably the best part of the game. Never has there been a class-based FPS title with this much variety. Out of 25 characters with new ones added every year, and the four classes they fit into, no two characters play the same. For instance, Rinehart and Winston are both tanks but do the job differently. If your team needs lasting, straightforward protection then you clearly use Reinhart, but if your team needs to rush the enemy as quickly as possible while still needing protection, then the incredibly mobile Winston would be a better choice. And it's because all of the characters in Overwatch are unique and drastically different in play style and design that makes the game so much fun. 25 ways to play, and you can play anything from an African powerhouse with a giant fist to a robotic munk with levitating orbs around his neck. And they all have varying damage, health, skill ceilings, mobility and situational effectiveness. Combine that with the fact that each character has as powerful move that they can charge up to possibly turn the tides of a game and you have a recipe for a good time. Overwatch gameplay is in general, solid. 6 vs 6 matches are the norm and they’re most of the time fast-paced and chaotic, which makes them lots of fun but sometimes infuriating if the players aren't skilled enough to handle the game’s extremely high skill ceiling. Due to Overwatch being an online- team based game, each of the 25 heroes have to be put in carefully constructed teams that compliment each other's abilities if the players want to win. Luckily, Blizzard nailed online capabilities in Overwatch. Players can team up with their friends in parties and even befriend, communicate with, and start other parties with random players online! Which allows communication between team members which in turn allows for strategy to be discussed amongst a team. Even though there’s only 15 maps in Overwatch as of now which is especially weak compared to TF2’s monster selection of over 100, they are very expensive and have a lot of possible routes and paths, and it's a lot of fun to discover new secret areas to abuse the game. And with there being a handful of modes to the maps such as capturing a point, pushing a payload or doing both, there’s a lot of possibilities to each scenario. Overwatch truly delivers in side content, there is an always expanding plethora of modes to play outside of the normal quick play and competitive, and the player can even make their own modes in the custom game mode, and post them online with the literally millions of other modes made by other players. Another area where Overwatch shines though, is the dozens and dozens and dozens of collectibles that each character can have. All of which are interchangeable to each hero and aesthetically makes the player’s character their own. And each event that comes out over the years adds even more voice lines, sprays, highlight intros, emotes and costumes for all the characters. In the end, Overwatch nails just about every aspect that needs to be addressed for an FPS to be good, and it excels in those aspects to the endth degree to create a must-play experience for any kind of gamer. It’s well worth it's 2016 Game-of-the-year title. 10/10, Masterpiece. Expand

While I can't speak for any other platforms that the game is on since there are different people playing on different platforms, the game is very well done as of right now. However, the community is one of the worst I have ever seen.

To begin with, the game's developers are not ever going to release paid DLC for maps or characters or anything of the sort. Those are all going to be included in patches. Blizzard is also continuously trying their best to balance the game according to pick rate and people's feedback. However, I will agree that sometimes their changes do feel unjustified. Changes such as these make the character feel very weird in terms of balancing, and it can remain a problem for a long time.

The game's balancing issues aside, it has spectacular graphics, fluid gameplay, and good music (that is when there IS music). Very responsive controls, and has a very advanced Options menu to adjust the experience to your liking. The game also runs at a steady 60 fps on console (aside from the rare frame rate drop when a lot of ultimates are used before the first checkpoint in Dorado), which many games fail to achieve. Just have a stable internet connection in order to play well on it. Keep in mind that this game is online only.

The game's community, however, makes the game a chore to play sometimes. It's difficult to play on certain days, just because of the people playing it. If you want to go casual, you might try Quick Play. However, many people will just pick Offense characters and not make it easy for you to play the character you want to play. And that's fine, people can play what they wish to play in Quick Play. Say you would like a more serious game mode, you could try Competitive Play. However, if you get someone that is using a microphone in that mode, I wish you luck because I guarantee someone will start screaming at another member of the team to step their game up because they have "gold medals in everything and everyone sucks". I recommend you play with friends in order to keep any of the above from happening. This game is a CHORE to play by yourself.

So, what to get from this:

    -Fluid gameplay and responsive controls
    -Steady frame rate
    -Good, but rare music
    -Weird balancing situation
    -Horrible community

True, When I first tried this game, I was truly sceptical of it (specially about spending 60 bucks) and I was against playing a game with no campaign mode as well, but it won me over. Yes, it took all its inspiration from Team Fortress, Blizzard says it all the time, but they created so many different characters and refined so many mechanics just trying to provide the best fun and gameplay possible. They have been constantly updating for free new characters, maps and modes.
Playing online with other people, was something hard for me until I played this game; we all know how competitive things can get on this platform, but you can pick up certain characters with certain skills and still do a good job adjusting to your abilities and play style. Give it a shot, there´s a character for everyone.
In case you are fully new to Overwatch, it focuses on Team vs Team, only (except for special events where is 1vs6, or PVE), with few but very fun modes (defending points as king of the hill and escorting a payload, or even hybrid) in a variety of maps, which I must say, were really thought trough and are well designed so any character can shine and none are in full disadvantage or advantage). Blizzard truly did an amazing job risking it and betting on this IP. Give it a try on those free weekends, or when it´s $30. It is fun no doubt in short bursts or if you want to invest yourself in the competitive scene.
It´s FUN, and hasn´t lost momentum. I find this type of shooter, like Team Fortress, more fun than having the typical resolution of match based on deathmatches and head count.

My critical analysis of Blizzard’s ‘Overwatch’ is based on my own time playing Overwatch, clocking up to around 8 months now; giving it a fresher, more up to date review of the FPS.
Having garnered over 500 hours on Overwatch’s competitive mode alone, I can securely say the balancing previously mentioned in other reviews as ‘clearly unbalanced’ is no longer the case and Blizzard have tweaked every Hero in order for a change in gameplay or generalised balance that makes the game fairer and more viable for everyone’s playstyle.
Despite the surprisingly limited number of game modes and maps, I still find every game of Overwatch fun as I’m always matched with new people who have different play styles, keeping me on edge to play good in every game. I will give an explanation of each of the three main categories of the game are; Quick Play, Arcade and Competitive:
Quick Play – A ‘normal’ game of Overwatch with no specific skill ranking, only level based match making which essentially means nothing, only how many hours you’ve spent on any of the three categories. Extremely useful during the start of me playing overwatch as I was not punished, via rank, for being so bad. Giving me a place to learn new characters and also alongside other newbies so I wasn’t completely decimated by obviously more skilful players. However as the ranks go up, particularly in my experience around the ‘first star’ (level 100) the players you match with who are of similar level become less and less interested and determined to win as before, more frequent mid-game dropouts, people who are testing a new hero out and other minor things that essentially put me off playing quick play solo. In contrast however, playing quick play with friends is a lot more fun as you are also matched with people in teams, making it a lot more enjoyable personally. Overall, quick play is a great learning curve that diminishes it’s playability the higher level you progress.

Arcade – Seasonal events all year round that are fun and new for players to have a different kind of game. Overall, the arcade offers mediocre alternative supplements for a bored player however is used for player testing of new maps, after being tested first on the PTS on PC, which is a lot of fun to experience a completely new map; a rarity in Overwatch due to the seriously stalled map releases throughout the years. I feel as though the whole Arcade mode is deserving of being on the main screen however seriously lacking in creativeness throughout most of the year, take Rocket League for example, their ‘Rocket Labs’ can be linked to Overwatch’s Arcade mode as new things are tested by the public and based on feedback released. The only major difference being game modes in Overwatch’s Arcade are almost never seen again once they leave, maybe having a saved game mode list where players can play any pre-released game mode on a privately hosted lobby would be a better alternative.

Competitive – A much more serious game mode for the more in tune players who want a very different game style as in quick play because everyone wants to win! Overwatch’s competitive ranking system drives you to keep playing as a team and win to gain level and increase your ranking, however still punishing you if your team loses. Despite what many biased, too personal, reviews say about the ranking system completely destroying your hard earned rank by 1 or more people in your team leaving prematurely, lagging out, or ‘throwing’, the way the ranking system works is based on your own personal player skill in every game. However it is gruellingly annoying when a player clearly has not tried in a game and resulted in a loss as you more commonly lose more SR from losses than gaining it from winning.
Conclusively, I rate Overwatch a metacritic score of 8/10 and personal score of 82/100. Based off extensive personal play time across a long period of time, allowing me to experience different ‘waves’ of the Overwatch game itself and its community within it. I highly rate the competitive aspect of the game although it is heavily team dependant which can cause a lot of losses, doesn’t feel that great. Would defiantly recommend this game to anyone who finds it fun to learn and develop a range of different characters to perfection, playing either competitively or just for fun in arcade mode. Excellent game that does not deserve a lot of the negative reviews online, by users, and especially outdated reviews that comment on already addressed bugs or things that have been fixed.

At this point in the development of Overwatch, which I really enjoyed a few months cause its a fun game. but they are currently not focused on balancing character but instead on over-buffing the absolute hell out of all the characters. don't get me wrong here like I said before the game is a blast, but it is super hard to play for the long term cause gameplay gets bland and repetitive. For people looking for a nice "sit down and relax with my friend's" game then this is a great option.

    +great smooth gameplay
+allot of hero's to pick from that are all unique and different
+constant developer attention to community and feedback
-very few modes for the abundance of maps the game provides
-gameplay gets kind of bland and predictable after a few days of playing

Overall: the game is a well made game in every right and its a fun game for casual play, but unless you are going to get super into, it its not a game that most would play for long term periods.

Its more fun than i have had in a video game in a long time. Overwatch is basically the accumulation of all the best features from fps games in the past 20 years.

Overwatch is the most fun I’ve had with a shooter since Splatoon came out. It’s true when they say no two matches are alike, because you never know what characters you’ll be up against, what the objective will be, or how your team will play.

Only wish they included a button to report ps4 players. People a while back were using a glitch to win matches, but they patched it. Would have been nice to be able to report the people who were ruining the game. Hasn't been a issue since like last fall.

For me the part I like is trying to improve in competitive. the only reason for me that I didn't give a 10/10 score is because the community is fairly toxic to the point I don't even bother with team chat anymore, I think Blizzard should be doing a better job of finding these people.

For me there are a few points that make it lose some score in my opinion. In terms of gameplay, the game feels great, you have 20+ heroes, each one feels very different, they all have 3-5 different skills, there’s a game style for everyone here. I also think they’ve managed to balance the heroes quite well, that doesn’t mean you can kill any hero with any hero; it means each hero is strong against some heroes and weak against some others, balance within a specific game is completely dependent on people making the right choice. As long as people think a bit when choosing, rather than going “Genji is my main no matter what”, it is easy to have a combination of heroes that is balanced, being “combination” the key word here. Said that the gameplay wildly varies between heroes, you have very fast pacing heroes that have to move a lot (e.g. Genji/Tracer), bulky slow kind of heroes (e.g Mei, Reindhardt), healers, etc. etc. Graphically speaking, the game is good, not awesome but I think it stands out by its art style rather that the raw quality of the graphics, music and sound are all right, nothing out of the ordinary but they work all right. Story wise, this being a multiplayer online game, you won’t find a lot of story elements in the game itself, but Blizzard has made an awesome job at giving you context via comics and short movies that you can access online for free. That is quite cool, although I still miss a campaign mode, seeing the universe they’ve created, the main story and the charisma of the characters I think it would be relatively easy to make an awesome campaign. Finally, for those trying to think about how playing this feels I think it’s fair to say that this is a mixture between a multiplayer FPS and a MOBA (e.g. league of legends), so if you played some of those, just expect something that falls in the middle, at least it feels like this to me.

Now, bad stuff, the first thing is the lack of proper modes. There are 3 main modes that you can either play on quick play or competitive. Two of them are very similar. These modes feel great, the games are kind of short 5-10 mins (in quick play) so, they’re great fun. Most of the people play to these. There are a few other additional modes, I’m calling these additional for two reasons, first, not as many people play them and second they don’t have maps specifically designed for them (which is awful) and you’ll notice that while playing. These additional modes are things like “deathmatch” 1v1, 3v3 and capture the flag. Capture the flag specifically angers me a bit, it is a very old mode in FPS games and for me it’s great, it’s my favourite usually in this kind of game. Here it feels “additional” because they reuse maps from the “main modes” for it; so basically Blizzard has put almost zero effort on the mode and you can feel that when playing. Now, on top of the lack of proper modes, there is the lack of maps for these modes. So the main modes have specific maps but not many, this is 3 and 4 maps for each of the “capture the zone” mode and 7 for the “escort the payload”. For escort the payload the number of maps is all right, but for example for one of the “capture the zone” modes only 3 maps is very very little.

Finally, and maybe the worst for me is the matchmaking system. First of all, I want to clarify that I’m not complying about this after playing a couple of hours. As of today, I’ve played more than 850 games with 112 hours of playtime so I think I’m in a fairly good position to review this. Anyway, people say the match making is designed to try and put together people of the same skill so we have fair games. Some people say the game does this looking at your victory percentage. In principle, this is fine with me, fair games area funnier and I can definitely feel the invisible hand of the system “forcing” me to stay in the victory percentage that correlates with my skill. That again, in principle is fine with me, sounds fair. The game pairs me with better players if I go above my % and I start losing and vice versa. The problem with this is the way the system is keeping my percentage at X value. I’d say that roughly 50 to 60% of my games are games in which my team is immensely superior to the other team and we win very easy or the other way around. The other 40-50% are fair enough games that I might win or not. Anyway, the fact that 50-60% of my games are quite unfair is frustrating, I don’t mind loosing, but I don’t like losing overwhelmingly because it’s just not funny. Same way crush winning the other team is not fun either and that’s why I’m getting to a point where the game is frustrating me a bit.

Summarising, there is quite a lot to enjoy in this game so If you like this kind of game go for it, but be ready for some frustration.

At this point, however, it becomes quite clear that you'll get an advantage by playing with friends and utilise characters and their powers combined. Playing solo ain't always easy, but it's just as fun.
A downside for me is that the game lacks campaign, this is pure online FPS, although Blizzard does update with seasonal events which have included campaign-like content. A huge plus-side though is that all the updates, whether it'd be new characters or new levels or other content, is 100% free of charge. You buy the game, and thats it. No DLC-buy:s needed. It's a great way to keep a community on par with each other and it's a great nod from Blizzard too, acknowledging that they understand the morale of when to charge for something and when not to. Overwatch is a great game to play, it's a joy to come back to again and again, alone or with friends.

The competitive is the heart of this game, while other game modes such as the arcade are not very well made, but that doesn't really matter since one will typically be playing either competitive or quick play. The other major issue for this game is character balancing. Blizzard has done a poor job at keeping characters balanced and not over powered, characters such as Bastion and Mei can usually be game ruiners if they are not on your team since they take little difficulty to play and are too strong when compared to more fair characters. Overall though, this is hands down the next big shooter on consoles and PCs because of its different ideas and characters. Expand

Overwatch is not a stupid clone of Team Fortress 2 as many thought. Overwatch is much more interesting, more colorful, it is much nicer to play. In Overwatch a large number of characters that will only grow. Each character not similar to each other both appearance and gameplay. Fun to play for each character. Don't focus on one, try different characters for different gameplay (even the doctors are different). Yes, the game has gameplay similar to Team Fortress 2 (even some characters), but still it is distinctive. Overwatch can be called mobay, especially all the characters have their own special ultimate. Timely filed ultimate can change the course of the match (I will not say. that's good). You can even combine ultimate between characters of the team.

The maps where we play as different. The design of the game is good, and the game itself looks great. Let some say that cartoony is the style of the game very well. Some cards, I think. there is a certain imbalance: some are easier to win for the defense, and the other for the defense.

Overwatch refers to the type of games easy to play but hard to master. In this game, just need to have a full team. You are alone in this game will not do anything, how skilled you wouldn't be. This game decides the interaction between the team. Even if you'll play well, because teams still lose. For playing Overwatch you need to have a good team. Yeah, playing with random players is also possible, but will be less fun at times.

So how long will be interesting to play this game? I played Overwatch in a little less than 200 hours and is tired of playing games. She no longer brings me joy. The problem with Overwatch is annoying (although I won't speak for everyone). In this game there is no plot, Yes, there is lore and wonderful videos on YouTube, but that doesn't count. Overwatch is a wonderful multiplayer game, the interest of which is purely individual - someone she will hold for long, some don't. I fell in love with these characters, but the gameplay is boring, and it is very annoying that this is purely a team game - sometimes because of his bad team, you just can't do anything and only have to suffer until the end of the round. In Overwatch a lot of random moments that I just hate. I played Overwatch in a little less than 200 hours, and she gave me so many emotions, and what you want.

(WHICH IS A FABULOUS IDEA) HOWEVER, Overwatch's seriously lacks in gameplay variety outside of the many characters you can choose from. That doesn't mean the game ISN'T FUN, it's quite the opposite!

Yet, my qualm comes from its oversimplicity. Playing the game never seemed to be as challenging and I found myself getting 1 and 2 places, almost every match going against over HUMAN players. (Not gloating, just stating facts.) For that reason, I didn't like and decided to return it.

And to add insult to injury, it uses RNG loot boxes rather than letting buy what you want. And At $40 minimum, it becomes apparent that this is less a game and more like a mechanism to vacuum more filthy lucre from anyone foolish enough to play.

Not helping matters is how the actual gameplay itself has the depth of a dixie cup, and some characters are unforgivably broken i.e. Bastion, who's minigun spam shames even Legion from Titanfall 2. Spawn camping is a major issue, as the defending team can park themselves outside the attackers' front door for a savage ROFL stomping.

The feel of the game is alright I guess, but half the controller is under-utilized. The whole game just gets boring so fast; it's slow and quiet, and the weapons and attacks lack any impact or feedback. None of the heroes are satisfying to play, exacerbated by the stupidly long respawns and long walks back to the objective (god help you if you're playing one of the slower, tank-y characters). The fact that almost none of the attacks are hitscan is nice, but again, have all the impact of a nerf gun.

As for the characters themselves, while the artwork is very good, none of the characters move beyond broad stereotype. With no villains or villainous factions, can you really call these people heroes?

This game doesn't deserve even an eighth of the hype it received, and ignore the slavering hordes of fans who will accuse you hating the game for not being Team Fortress 2.

Not all heroes are going to be equally used or even liked, but it does at least give a very nice selection for different players to utilize and experiment with. The gamemodes, while alright initially, do start to show its mediocrity and shows that there is not enough game modes to feel really interesting. There are competitive modes along side with custom game modes, but with the main player base in the general realm of quickmatches, the overall experience will deteriorate by your 50th match. There are many characters to fit whichever playstyle suits you best. It's vibrant, with great maps and the online runs well. Most of the time it puts you into matches of equally skilled opponents, which is the other main point to nail in a competitive game. One thing to note is that having a few friends in a team based game like this to play with on the regular vastly influences how much fun you'll have with this title. The other thing worth mentioning is that although this game will keep you busy for dozens of hours I wouldn't say it quite has the variety from match to match to keep me hooked like some previous blizzard greats, such as diablo 2, warcraft 3 or starcraft 2. I think that it has something to do with a lack of real progression and the loot boxes are sort of "Meh". Also having all of the cinematic content online and not incorporated into the game, feels a bit off. In the end this is an excellent competitive game and an interesting new IP for blizzard, that doesn't quite reach the full on legendary addiction of previous blizzard greats. Expand

Great game! Amazing support from Blizzard constantly adding new free content. No pay to win model. The best FPS today from the best game developer. Thanks Blizzard!

Overwatch is a true multiplayer great. The online is always working and the community is great. The game comes with frequent updates of characters, maps, and modes. The only downfall is when it becomes repetitive, which is rare.

Im hooked and cant get enough OW. Graphically it is breathtaking, one of the best looking MP games I have ever played. Controls are precise and gameplay is amazing, especially with a group of your buddy's. Music adds to the maps and maps themselves are laid out perfectly. Good balance of characters and servers are pretty good. Always looking forward to Holiday events, trying to getIm hooked and cant get enough OW. Would be awesome to have a SP campaign as well, but cant always have everything! Expand

I created an account just to review this game because I was shocked by the low user score.

I had zero hype for this game. I've never even played a Blizzard game before this. I only bought it for my husband because all of his friends were migrating to it at release. I have since gotten myself addicted. While I do enjoy a good campaign, the majority of my time and enjoyment with a FPS

I had zero hype for this game. I've never even played a Blizzard game before this. I only bought it for my husband because all of his friends were migrating to it at release. I have since gotten myself addicted. While I do enjoy a good campaign, the majority of my time and enjoyment with a FPS comes from online multiplayer. To trash this game based on the lack of depth is immature and misguided. This game is being rated poorly by people who are just not a right fit for it. I don't enjoy fighting games one bit, but that doesn't mean I'm going to go give Mortal Kombat or Naruto Shippuden a 2 or 3-point rating.

This game needs to be viewed objectively. The replayability is top-notch. The variance in team chemistry is top-notch. The fact that Blizzard continues to add characters and maps, free of charge, is rare in modern gaming. Blizzard actually listens to its fanbase. The only place I might draw issue with this game (other than a few minor grievances I have in-game) is with the price. This is often compared to TF2 (rightly so). And that is likely why so many people feel Overwatch is really only one piece of a game. But I think if campaign only games can thrive on their own, so can multiplayer-only. Especially considering the latter has much more replayability.

And as a side-note, I think any review should be completely disregarded if they claim this should be a free-to-play game. Entitlement in the consumer community is just as detrimental to video game progression as things like microtransactions and games being released only half-finished..

Overwatch is all around good game that is missing a campaign but once they add that the game would feel perfect the devs interact alot with the community and give us free DLC not that many games do that anymore. its very importnat to interact with the fans!.

Simply the best multiplayer shooter to come along in years. Pure, joyous fun. [July 2016, p.74]

That the game hangs together visually is remarkable; that it should cohere so well in design terms, unfathomable. [Aug 2016, p.104]

Blizzard's addictive and tactical team-based shooter is essential - the character-switching mechanic sweetens the genre. Group up with friends to avoid clueless carnage and enjoy the true game. [Aug 2016, p.82]
