    For £60 at release, I can't help but feel ripped off. The main improvement the re release offers is a slight improvement to graphics but nothing major. Many character skins look untouched and very dated, some sky boxes have been improved (luna ME1) and yet some look far worse (Illium ME2), some of the voice work needed reworking but left in and glitches/errors in gameplay ARE STILLFor £60 at release, I can't help but feel ripped off. Mass Effect was the (good) Star Wars for video games. It created a universe full of interesting characters, stories, history, conflicts, alien species, politics, technology, ideologies and cultures. Mass Effect was the (good) Star Wars for video games. It created a universe full of interesting characters, stories, history, conflicts, alien species, politics, technology, ideologies and cultures. The lore was so good that I had many good discussions with friends and read many articles in the Mass Effect Wiki. You have also a codex in each game where you can look up things for more details. Then they had a unique idea for the Mass Effect games. You can import your decisions into the next games. This was as interesting as impactful. Many of us had again so good discussions and arguments what the best course of action was or which outcome the decisions will have. There were a lot of mayor and some minor decisions that gave you different results in the follow up games. Then came the conclusion for the trilogy that shatter everything. I mentioned in my reviews for the individual games that I wanted to replay all of them to get my favourite (and satisfying) outcomes. Now this is not enjoyable. Again to be fair the journey was beautiful and well worth my time while the end undoes nearly everything. Technical they overhauled the games and it hits more than it misses. I shorten it with you get what you expect. Overall I still feel a strong disappointment for the ending as this could be the best trilogy in gaming. I give a 5/10 and say that I loved the games.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I played all the games back in 2007-2012 and even named my daughter that was born 2011 Tali. That is how much I loved Mass Effect after having spent hundred of hours in ME and ME2. Then came ME3 and it sucked so hard that I did not touch the games at all again until now with the legendary edition.

    So how different do I think the game(s) feel now almost ten years later? Well, ME and ME2 are still good games and even still great from a story perspective but ME3 is still there to ruin the entire experience. Yes, there is a huge numbers of DLC included and they are supposed to make the last entry of this series more palatable than it was when I finished it back in 2012. But ME3 is still the retarded sibling to the great ME and the perhaps even greater ME2.

    ME3 lacks dialog choices and I feel like I am watching a movie with some exciting moments in it but my Shepard is more or less railroaded and does not feel like my Shepard at all in ME3, it feels like he just became a shadow or and imposter of my Shepard that I played through ME and ME2. This makes the game very disappointing despite the improvements to the combat mechanic that now with the Legendary edition is actually ok even in the first ME.

    The story that started out as a space opera that was all about hope and victory against impossible odds, not unlike the original Star Wars trilogy, sadly turns into an artsy fartsy attempt at being edgy in the last installment. ME3 is a very beautiful shell but a shell nonetheless and a very empty shell once opened at that. The ending of the different story lines is deeply unsatisfactory and the ending(s) of the ME3 and the entire saga is just as bad now as it was almost ten years ago, I would dare say it is even worse now as it feels so bad despite me being older and not as emotional as I was when I was younger.

    So my recommendation to all players that love the ME-universe is this, play the first two installments and consider Shepard’s and his crew and love interest story finished after ME2. By killing sovereign and destroying the collector base you made the reaper invasion impossible and you stopped the cycle and Shepard and his friends can take a well deserved vacation and Shepard and his love interest can live happily ever after. Because what is so wrong with a happy ending? There is too much sadness and doom and gloom in the world right now and even back in 2012 and I still feel that Shepard and the players that loves or loved this franchise deserved to be able to get a happy ending to the epic story but instead we got the equivalent to Luke Skywalker committing suicide by flinging himself down the reactor pit instead of fighting the impossible odds and defeating the Empire.

    I know that games and stories where the main protagonists ends up winning is not “modern” but I still really believe that one of the colored endings should have given just that.

    ME1 10 points and ME2 10 points but the disappointment that is ME3 really sours the entire dish as the landing of the entire trilogy actually matters a lot, it is not all about the journey because the destination is also important. And this journey felt like flying first class just to crash land in taliban controlled parts of Afghanistan. So I cannot in good conscience give this package more than 5 because of the terrible last installment and the even worse ending to what could have been the best sci fi and space opera experience of the **** century.    … Expand

I've played the whole series before and the controls for the first one were weird or feel off and that was improved in this version but it still feels off but not as much as before. Dlc is missing but it's not one that'll you'll miss. A certain part was changed and made me go back and load it up again on my PC and made me think "really? You guys don't have the budget to add a better ending or put the missing dlc but you can censor or change the camera angle because of the times?" And it went a little downhill from there. I know the next Mass effect will be less spicy to "protect" themselves from fake backlash. The game is not much of a improvement but it's good enough until you realize they'll change things. I won't support changing to shield yourself from problems but FF7 remake I'll accept due to not failing me before. Time will tell if future mass effects will be anywhere close to 1-3 or be a huge mess and almost ending the series hype and faith. Overall just play this on PC the original and run on the highest settings with a few mods to improve it and you'll get the same thing or better. I know I'm being harsh but I was expecting the original just upped and with a tiny hope of a different ending or add on like Persona 4 golden but guess I'll move on. If you truly want it buy it if not read more reviews and make up your mind from those. The times change but the way games stories are made shouldn't.… Expand

Hello, I found my copy of Mass Effect for the 360 (Platinum Hits) in a Wal-Mart and at $17, I had already bought ME2 and I wanted to experience the full package the first time and I loved it. Then I played ME2 and my expectations were high for the third game and they almost got true.
    The Legendary Edition brought back massive memories of the locations and various characters but it reminded me of the story faults: in ME1 (which is were 90% of the work went into) qe get to choose who to save on Virmire (Ashley or Kaidan) but in ME2 there is still only one cameo scene with them and a letter if they were your Love Interest only to have a bullrushed development in ME3 without much player feedback afterwards. Bioware didn't even bothered to list the death of Emily Wong and hence you'll have to explore Twitter for why she wasn't in ME3, Corporal Tombs MIA, a big number of bugs both bew and from the original releases are in the game and Bioware hasn't bothered to keep up woth maintenance, they might be reading our comments requesting official support but there hasn't even been a social media post by Bioware if thwy are tracking the situation or they will be moving to the next game completly and another thing, in the original ME2 players could pursue a Romantic relationship and earn the Paramour Trophy after the Collectors Base assault but now all it happens is that the screen turns to black:

The fact that I paid $70 on release for them to simply update graphics, and have them not even take the time to fix known bugs is shame-worthy and a bit of a disgrace, as well as a nail in the coffin, of what that wasBig Mass Effect fan.     All three entries are more buggy than the originals. Hopefully they make a patch to fix this. But knowing EA's history with the Mass Effect franchise, I doubt it.

    Why the hell are you forced to run EA's crappy Origin to play Single Player games on steam? Bad Move EA no micro-transactions for you.

    For ME1 there have been barely any improvements in regards to the quality of the product I can't even say that its a Remaster to be honest. The entire game is as always very janky and the Mako is still incredibly awful when you control it over terrain, combat is also the same broken mess as the previous version.

    For ME2 Visually it looks great and the missions handle very well for the most part. My only issue is with the Camera angles which are worse than the original ME2 which I did not know it could be possible, characters phase or become fully invisible in some parts of the conversations.

    For ME3 I cant say that there are improvements on it visually and it looks like the original version.I keep experiencing camera issues when having conversations with the characters which I think never showed up on the original game.

    Overall it's fine if you want the entire collection + DLC on your steam Library but I can't say that there is anything really ''REMASTERED'' as they claim. I would suggest buying this on sale ( around 50%-60% off).    … Expand

    I was looking forward to an easy platinum but I found myself running around talking to npc’s for the first few hours.

    Very frustrating you need to manually guess where to go next using the journal and that the game doesn’t indicate where to go to next on these mazes of space ships. Did they pay for good ratings on this game ? It is no way near an 86 !!!! I gave up and am returning    I was looking forward to an easy platinum but I found myself running around talking to npc’s for the first few hours.

    Too much hype, very overrated. Maybe I was expecting too much for an admittedly old game, but I found it absolutely unattractive, and I do not mean the graphics and the gameplay mechanics.
    I really wonder why people find the story interesting. For me it was a complete mess and I simply did not "get" it.
    Perhaps my IQ is too limited...

    This is a Mass Effect fan’s dream. I played through the original trilogy years ago, so I wanted to play through it all again.
    The improvements made to ME1 are night and day, made what was an already enjoyable experience even better. Itching to play ME2 once I platinum ME1!

    There is no normal language selection option! Add the ability to separately select voiceovers and subtitles. For example, English voice + Russian subtitles.
    In Russian localization HORRIBLE voice acting !!! Why add voiceovers to one game without giving it all? This is stupid.

Look at Reddit for info but TL;DR the front speaker sound is in the back speakers. Don't have surround sound? Even worse, now you cannot hear half the game.

    The AI is also either as stupid as in the original or worse (it somehow feels worse    ME1+2 is like a corpse with make-up. And unfortunatly there been alot of tampering here. Idealy have this trilogy get 1X enhancement would have been better.Unfortunatly we got a bare minimum upgrade that seems like an excuse for a quick buck and to tamper with theAs a huge fan of the origional trilogy and preservation at great games seeing a studio that didnt create the content tamper with the content can be problematic.     MA 1 was an RPG, now is a generic shooter. I played all 3 game right before this remaster was released and just limethe Sillent Hill HD collection, changes have been made that effect , mood, context, even some conversations have been messed with.    … Expand

    There is no subtitle in Portuguese, so for me it deserves this low grade. And in the middle of 2021 this is unacceptable! Brazil is one of the biggest consumers of games and we deserve respect!

    Its a shame nowdays to not give players a possibility to select VO and subtitles separately. In my case only ME1 has russian VO. This VO is disgusting! And I don't have an option to change it to english VO and leave russian subs!

    It is impossible to highly appreciate a game in which there is no elementary function of a separate choice of voice acting language and interface language. BioWare, add this to the game, stop bullying players in Russia. accidentally wrote this review under the version for x-box, but that's okay, the guys have the same problem there)

    абы что, начал с третьей части играть, моих нервов хватило и на 10 минут. Не стоит время тратить на это, а тем более деньги. В своё время прошел все 3 части, было круто. С тех пор пошло не мало времени, игра сильно устарела, думал это издание хоть как то изменит графику под современный уровень. Я ошибся, разработчики решили чисто денег срубить ничего не сделав по сути. Лучше бы над новойабы что, начал с третьей части играть, моих нервов хватило и на 10 минут. Не стоит время тратить на это, а тем более деньги. В своё время прошел все 3 части, было круто. С тех пор пошло не мало времени, игра сильно устарела, думал это издание хоть как то изменит графику под современный уровень. Я ошибся, разработчики решили чисто денег срубить ничего не сделав по сути. Лучше бы над новой частью бы трудились, а то всё в пустую, не себе не людям.     I just played the ME1 through in a ps4 legendary edition and went to me2.

    Limited ammo. Freaking limited ammo, in the world that invented a mass effect technology, which made limited ammo literally obsolete. It's like shooting flintlock riffle after an automatic. And when the gun is out of ammo("heatsinks")? Yo guess it it stops shooting.

    Thank you for making the game unplayable for Russian and Polish gamers. Either patch-in the option to change voicover language without affecting subs or don't bother even selling it in our countries.

    Official Russian voice acting is a shame.
    It is impossible to play with Russian voice acting. Please add Russian subtitles with English voice acting. Otherwise, this is not a playable version.

    É um bom jogo, porém é decepcionante o descaso das empresas, em não colocar legendas em português do Brasil e de Portugal, e agora tbm cometendo erros na dublagem russa.

    Esperei tanto para rejogar esse jogo, mas em pleno 2021 e não ter legenda PT-BR é muita falta de visão de mercado. Até entendo um pouco de inglês, mas por não ser nativo dificulta muito a compreensão do enredo. Já que o jogo tem muitos diálogos, fica cansativo ler tanto em outro idioma.

    He didn't have the care and affection we expect from a game called legendary. Lacking subtitles in Portuguese, I don't even need dubbing. plus the subtitles in my native language could increase sales in Brazil and generate a whole legion of fans. The game contains several bugs! Translate to Portuguese!

The cinematic lighting of mass effect 1 has been butchered by them adding a floodlight into most scenes and in some scenes they have even removed the original lighting. not only does this ruin the original feel of the game, it results in cardinal sins suchWARNING. O Brasil é o 12 maior mercado de jogos do mundo (de acordo com pesquisas recentes) se isto não é o suficiente, pra eles se esforçarem minimamente pelos fãs brasileiros, não comprarei este jogo. Eu digo NÃO a desvalorização do mercado nacional de games.

    Mass Effect: Legendary Edition offers the comprehensive experience that the whole trilogy rightfully deserves. Thanks to this, you can easily forgive it all sorts of small ailments associated with the age of individual parts and you drown dozens of unforgettable hours in the game without blinking an eye. Yes, even after such a long time.

    The Mass Effect Trilogy is incredible. The overarching story and its characters are excellent, and each one was better than the last. I wasn’t sure if these games would hold up in the current environment, but they absolutely do. They’re still worth playing, I recommend them, and to anyone about to jump in — play at a slower pace. Do not rush through. Explore everything they have to offer and relish in their richness.
