    For all those of you complaining about the abundance of bad reviews and how it’s still “a good game”, the 0.3 user rating on Metacritic doesn’t just reflect the garbage product displayed (and the fact that I already own the game in the form of Madden 20), but also the ineptitude among Electronic Arts for more than a decade now. Hope this is a wake up call for EA but it won’t be.     I’m surprised EA hasn’t made playing as your favorite team a micro-transaction yet. Imagine spending 60+ dollars on this “game” only to find out it’s still the same doo doo on a stick it’s been for years, but somehow even worse than that. Then picture spending even more money on micro-transactions on it that’s rendered completely useless in less than a year. Couldn’t be me.

    I was in a franchise game and the QB was lined up on the oline for no reason. The QB was a RB so many glitches.

    People say this game is the same game every year with minor graphic changes and roster changes (which is true), but the GAMEPLAY HAS GOTTEN PROGRESSIVELY WORSE for at least the past 5 editions. You have no control over players... takes a runningback several steps to make a simple cut. So stiff.

My father and I have purchased Madden the first day its released every year, since Barry Sanders graced the cover of Madden 99. This years' game Madden 21, is unapologetically awful. Yes, the graphics still look great. It's 2020, the 6th iteration of this game on this console. It should look great.Very disappointed Madden fan. That's where the game stops being good. Franchise is a continued copy and paste from 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020. EA sports Tiburon doesn't give a crap about the fans and continue to neglect the most played mode. Yet, once again they shove another cash cow mode the yard on us to go along with the already ridiculous Madden ultimate spender. As far as gameplay, it's the same. They tweaked player interaction slightly, with block engagement and tackling. Besides that, they've cluttered the defensive line interface with a bully blue box call rush moves. Then, if you make a big play, i.e. good pass, first down, sack, tackle for loss you have a ridiculous big d-pad esque picture of how you should celebrate. It's intrusive and obnoxious and needs to go away, immediately. That's really it. You're paying $60 dollars for a copy and paste regression of a football game EA Tiburon continues to milk for it's cash cow Madden Ultimate Spender and The Yard. The NFL needs to revaluate or intervene like Disney did for Star Wars Battlefront 2. Because this game is atrocious. #SaveMaddenFrancise. #NFLfireEA. EA has ruined John Madden's name and honor. Oh hey, instead of fixing the glitches and gameplay. They're giving us Colin kraperdick as an 81!... Please wake me from this football nightmare. Do not buy this game!… Expand

Now you can't tell the difference between games year to year. This year takes the cake though.     worst game i ever play. Even Ultimate Team has atrociously laggy menus that make it completely unbearable to endure. Many gameplay and AI flaws from previous titles have continued into this one as well. You can only get so much fun from such broken gameplay. Please do not give EA $60 or more for this piss poor effort. Ea just give the same crap every year on every sports game they made ,worst game i ever play.     I haven't bought a Madden in years. Madden 21 is just as bad as the last Madden I played. They've even removed features. Franchise mode is some how worst. The user interface even lags. Never buying Madden ever again.

    It’s honestly just the same game as last year with a different cost of paint. You can even find old assets from the last game in this newest one like before. It’s not worth 60 dollars nor 50 or 40 and shouldn’t even be sold as a newest entry on its own. Like I mentioned before, same game but with a few new changes.

    I've been buying Madden for the past 5 years but I had enough. It's just the same things year round , too many glitches and the gameplay feels the same from last year's ,they try adding small things like choosing your own TD celebration etc but who cares if the gameplay is trash and the presentation is same. EA just wants to keep making money !

This year the face of the franchise is supposed to be a big selling point. You go in with a lame storyline that is predetermined no matter what you do. I threw nine touchdowns coming off a super bowl win. My player is 27 years old with a 95 overall rating yet I’m fighting for my starting job with a quarterback who’s six years older and has a 75 overall rating. It still glitches worse than ever. My player will be running and trip his own self up. The commentary is awful. The same prerecorded garbage over and over for year. If you break a record it’s not even acknowledged. This game is pure crap and ea could not care less. They have a monopoly on the nfl so they know fans are just gonna keep buying it hoping it’s gonna get better. Every since they added mut it’s went down hill because they only care about the micro transactions. This game will not get better until the monopoly is over. It needs competition.… Expand

    Atrocious game. The Madden series has not seen the innovation since Madden 18. Every year they wheel out the same product with literally just a roster update and new uniforms. It's incredibly frustrating that lack of innovation or effort that is now being put into the Madden series

Everyone needs to chill, do something they like to do and take your mind off the daily stresses. For me I was looking for to madden 21 to help me with that. Just a little and I found myself so mad I broke my game disc in half. I have never seen so many glitches in a video game in my life. Especially a game I have been playing since 94.     This game is a complete mess of bugs and reused graphics from old NFL games that are just plain embarrassing. There was no quality control, which is a shame on EA Sports. And even if it was controlled, it would be even more shameful. Bad work EA.

    Game is glitchy and has too many unrealistic animations! Kick meter is intermittent and hesitant which makes kicking almost totally avoided. Dbs can intercept ANY pass in their vicinity. Qb release is slow or inaccurate with the pass. And a big nemesis for years: dropped passes! I could continue but a monopolistic company like EA just doesn't care!     Madden 21 is BAD. I've never wanted a refund so bad as i do now. EA needs to give us a refund!! The game is buggy and I've personally had times where the field art is not even there thus it looks like a FIFA field. I knew when the NFL signed an exclusive deal with EA we as the fans would suffer and each year they keep pushing out the same recycled crap. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!!

    Madden 08 and 09 were two of my favorites, and I just remember having the classic NFL themed music playing in the background as I customized my own stadium and created my own football team. I used to be able to do a Lambeau Leap into fans that didn't look like cardboard cutouts after scoring a game-winning touchdown. I used to see tailgates outside of the stadiums. Back in the day, there used to be epic team introductions where players like Ray Lewis would do their famous pregame dances.

    In Madden 21, the parking lots are empty, the sidelines and crowds look like a morgue, the pregame intros are uninspiring to say the least, and the referees can't even be found on the field. The gameplay is bugged and scripted. I play offline Franchise mode and I can't even kick extra points because the kicking meter glitches as if I plugged my PS4 into a potato. Madden 21 treats you like a mindless sack of water and carbon that can't make decisions for itself; everything in Franchise mode is served to you on a to-do list basis, with absolutely no authenticity or innovation when it comes to managing a professional sports team. Even something like including a given team's Offensive, Defensive, and Special Teams coordinator would significantly enhance this game's immersion... Oh, and in between load screens, I'm constantly peppered with advertisements/promos for MUT and The Yard as if I'm on a "bad" website without having Ad Blocker enabled...

    This is the last Madden I will purchase until significant changes are made. Here's to hoping EA rights the ship with what was formerly known as one of the best sporting game franchises of all time. NFL 2K simulated football can't get here soon enough!    … Expand

Their use of the ultimate team game mode is PURLEY just to squeeze every last bit of currency they have out of the player and unfortunately this year is no different. Same stuff every year.

    Another egregious cash grab that has gone on too long. Same game as Madden 2015, with more bugs and literally the exact same models and animations. The only new feature adds very little and really serves only to provide microtransactions and charge $18 per jersey color (on top of the $60 you paid for the same game you already own). NFL should drop them.

    This game has been mediocre for years, but this is the edition that broke the camels back. The gameplay is scripted and completely animation driven so you don't feel like you're making any difference to the outcome. The commentary is dry and old, same with visual presentation. Franchise mode has received any significant updates in years. I played Madden 18 recently, it's the same.

    Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.

    For NFL diehards, there remains hundreds of gaming hours at your disposal in Madden 21. These same diehards – much like players of EA’s NHL and Sony’s The Show – will be left with the impression they’ve played this game before, however.
