    I play franchise 98% with the occasional online game... this game is no different than madden 16. A few minor tweaks to the gameplay that’s about it. Same menu, same intro, same layout in franchise, same interactions. Just over it

    you cant keep turning out the same game every year and expect people to keep paying for it. FIX FRANCHISE MODE. Nobody plays MUT, I know EA wants to force people to spend money on micro transactions but they have ran this game into the ground. I'd rather Play madden 08

    Madden 21 has been a major disappointment for me, especially because EA actually responded to criticism about franchise mode and acted as if they were going to fix it. Instead it’s exactly the same. The relocation teams have actually been the same for the last 5 Maddens and that’s something literally everyone complains about but EA just doesn’t care. They added nothing new to the drafts or the off-season process. they didn’t fix trading and free agency. The career mode still doesn’t compare at all to 2k’s and is extremely boring and easy. The Franchise mode overall is still way worse than NCAA 14’s, that was released 7 years before this game. There are a few new animations but still none of them actually feel natural. They add 3 new tackle animations every year and after two weeks of playing you basically know what it’s going to look like when your guy gets tackled. Same thing for catches, broken tackles, sacks, jukes, stiff arms, hit sticks, etc.The game has boiled down to being able to control way less than you’re actually just watching when you play Madden. And it’s because it’s all built on the frostbite engine which is specifically made to produce first person shooters and not football games. however because it’s cheaper than designing your own engine, EA uses Frostbite. NFL 2K5 and All Pro Football 2K8 designed engines specifically for simulation football games and they both look and feel way better/smoother. I was initially excited for the yard because I thought EA was finally going to replicate NBA 2K’s extremely popular Park mode. Instead it’s another arcade mini game very similar to the superstar mode. You can fully upgrade your character in a week and then at that point you catch every ball with one hand no matter how covered you are. The only reason I even gave them 1/10 is because i’m grateful they’ve finally made a game so bad that the NFL is going to have to drop EA and we’ll finally get what we want, a real simulation football game that doesn’t spend all their effort on finding ways to add micro transactions.… Expand

In some cinematic scenes, my player would appear with different cleats in both of his feet. The “Face of the Franchise” mode itself is kinda boring with a poor built story.     Not realistic at all, franchise mode has been the same forever, literally copy and paste the same game. Yes, there are some gameplay upgrades but that's it. It does feel better but so many glitches come with it.

Whatever 5 year old you hired to edit New jerseys onto players needs to be fired and the game actually needs to see improvement. What it will most likely come down to is you guys will have to take a year off like you did with NBA Live to actually improve the game.… Expand

    This game is literally a roster update sold to you for 60-100 bucks. If you are excited about the yard just wait for 2ks game. Madden is just cut and paste with a roster update and micro-transactions out the ass.

Madden NFL 21s franchise mode is and has felt like a copy and paste for the past 4 years adding little things here and there. A good NFL football simulation game should actually feel like I'm experiencing what I watch on football Sundays. There is NO changes to franchise other than rosters and jersey's in this years franchise mode compared to last. The superbowl celebration hasn't changed since Madden 17 or 18. Face of the Franchise is and always has been a cheesy, lazy, addition and I have no idea why it exists. It's better than the previous two iterations only because I like being able to start my career in high school and you can skip the cutscenes more often so you're not locked in a terrible screenplay written by someone who's never seen a good football movie or show or know really anything about what a players journey is like to the nfl. Ultimate Team is the filthiest cash grab I have ever experienced and is so pay to win I can't help but ask, "what innovation does this bring to a football game?". If you want to remotely compete you have to put in way too many hours on solo challenges and games that it will get boring very fast unless your pockets run very deep and you can buy as many packs as you please. Sadly, this is the only mode that gets continuous content throughout the year which is fun but is immediately demotivating when playing someone who has too much money and all the latest and greatest cards. The Yard is actually a pretty fun mode and I'm glad EA put something worth playing in this years madden game, because without it, I wouldn't have spent 15$ on EA Play to play it. A company with as many resources as it has shouldn't be allowed to put out what feels like AN UPDATE and slap a 60$ price tag and call it new. Yeah, they will have updates, but you can't put a bow on dog sh** and suddenly it isn't dogsh**. Sorry. #NFLdropEa… Expand

    I have been playing this game for my entire life and unfortunately I can honestly say that I have been playing the exact same buggy, glitchy, and non functional game for my entire life. I got an interception while playing and instead of the game giving my a 1st and 10 (like in regular football), I was put in a situation where it was 2nd and -4 (yes, negative four).     This is sad. Madden used to be one of my favorite games and now they rehash the same game year after year. Where is the customization? Where is is upgraded game engine and physics? Where is the authenticity on the field? Until we stop buying this crap they won’t change.. also someone take the license from EA and bring back NFL Street... sincerely everyone

    There's a reason why its the worst rated game of ALL TIME. Truly baffling that after 15+ years, Madden takes substantial steps back. I believe NFL will terminate its contract with EA after this horrendous release. Not even remotely excited about Next Gen release. Thanks to EA for sucking the passion out of ever touching another Madden title.

I know how a good football game should feel. That is why i am confident in saying this is the WORST football game i have every played. While franchise mode is given bugs and glitches that make it infuriating to attempt to play. face of the franchise gets my hopes up every year as i hope EA can finally capture what it would feel like to go through the process of being a young player in the NFL. Instead it is an uninspired, extremely boring, and rushed experience in which nothing is accomplished plot wise and the user has little to no control over any decisions other than how much of an idiot your guy looks like and maybe your number (if your lucky). I still don’t know why they can’t give you a name that the announcers can say, a voice option that doesn’t sound like the voice actor got paid $5 for a day of work, and an actual user decision past draft day. All of the game modes and extra stuff aside the gameplay itself relies solely on animations. You maybe thinking, “all sports video games rely on animations.” To which i would respond to an extent. Just because there are animations doesn’t mean that the players can’t respect each others’ individual bodies. Meaning i shouldn’t be able to run through someone’s leg, another guys shoulder, and a third guys foot just so the guy in front of me can perform a tackle animation. If you watch football you know that often more than one player makes a tackle, however EA simply can not make that happen because tackles are scripted for one player at a time. I will admit that more animations may need to be made to fix this problem rather than taking them out all together. However, if that is the case then why hasn't EA added more animations over the past few years? I have played each new madden for 4 years straight and i swear there have been maybe 2-3 new animations for tackling or ball carrying respectively. There are many more gameplay problems but, the animations issue I feel is the most pertinent. Clearly, EA has gotten far too comfortable with having the licensing deal with the NFL and have decided to suck the money from their few remaining fans, rather than listening to those that have loved football, video games, and dare I say Madden for years! I love madden but i now believe it is time for the #NFLdropEA… Expand

    No new notable features. Franchise is the same as 2017. Decals on jerseys and in stadiums from 2019 are present. Buggy as hell. No real effort in improving anything other than MUT which is a slap in the face to all Madden and Football fans. We want change. You wont get that with Madden.

The mode the Yard is actually very fun, when it actually works! I get disconnected or my opponent does more than I can actually play. Franchise mode is again untouched which is unacceptable.     Horrible game. Literally copy and paste from previous years with very little change. Not worth the $60, it should be $9.99 DLC/patch update. Very disappointed and now I can’t even return the game. I will be disputing the charges for false work and marketing.

    Same bugs as last year with plenty of new bugs such as paint lines not displaying. So I play on a solid green field. My players giving high fives to noone on cutscenes, random white squares displaying on field. The game is basically just a cash grab by EA at this point as there is no other option for gamers who want to play football.

    Fix the franchise mode! It is slow and buggy. It still has old glitches. Literally the exact same as last year, and very similar to previous years. The “new” game mode the yard has customization but it is full of micro transactions. Why did ea get a contract extension? They need competition to make the game better.

    The game is terrible and it doesn’t make any sense how the gameplay and features in the game are still even allowed, tolerated, and approved to be released in the year 2020. Something needs to be done. Not just little small updates and patches here a there but a whole new engine, whole new team of developers and test, and even a whole new culture surrounding the making of the game.

    Again madden disappoints... Actual gameplay Physics, Player Technique and Scheme are all inconsistent with the actual game of football. Lack of competition due to EA’s Monopoly on its NFL License , combined with its leaderships Blatant disregard for having pride in their work has let to an unplayable and from this point on un-buyable game!

    Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.
