    I truly hope after years of EA’s copy and paste $60 roster update of a “football game” that we are now much closer to the reality that the nfl will finally drop them and end the monopoly ea has had over the football video game genre. Do not buy this game. Go buy yourself a nice pair of shoes or grocery shopping.

    Madden 21 is a carbon copy of Madden 20 and the years before it in a number of ways. The gameplay continues to be influenced by cheesy superstar and x-factor abilities. The fans continue to be astonishingly low resolution, all wearing a jersey that sports the number 0. Franchise mode was completely untouched, outside of background changes, font changes, and simple card design changes.Madden 21 is a carbon copy of Madden 20 and the years before it in a number of ways. Patrick Mahomes famously signed a 10 year extension to his contract, keeping him in Kansas City for the next 12 years. When I opened Madden on release day and entered Franchise mode, Mahomes had a 7 year contract. It's shocking that something so big and iconic in the NFL was implemented incorrectly, being a change that takes such a minimal amount of coding and time commitment. EA continues to ignore customers and create new game modes that the community doesn't ask for, this year coming in the form of "The Yard". New modes such as The Yard are developed with the goal of higher profits from micro transactions, rather than producing a quality game for consumers. If you are someone who has an extreme passion for the NFL that plays online connected franchise with friends and feels a serious need for new rosters with accurate face scans, buying the game wouldn't be a bad idea. If you are 99% of the Madden community, you should not feel as if you are missing out by not purchasing the game. I have seen updates to free games that are more productive than the release of Madden 21, and they didn't cost $60.… Expand

    This game is terrible. It’s essentially Madden 20 2.0. No changes to franchise mode. Madden is money hungry by adding the yard and charging people for helmets and gear.

    The game has been a copy and paste. I’m franchise mode nothing changed but the color scheme. They didn’t even change when you won the Super Bowl in franchise and it still had madden 20. Players ratings are inaccurate. They only change game modes that make them money but some people buy to play franchise simulation football. YOU SHOULD NOT BUY THIS UNFINISHED PRODUCT

    After years of playing CMF and seeing its decline i just wanted to know......can MUT replace my needs and the answer is....no. The gameplay and scripting is as bad as in CMF even though ‘user’ skill should be rewarding. This game needs an overhaul and if EA is up to the task...i still would give them a chance but they really should take action..now...

    I purchased this game because I saw that they were going to try and "listen to the players" about everything we have been complaining about for years. I am a franchise fan. I bought the game for that specific mode expecting the revamped version they promised. Nothing really changed. It still is the same boring franchise mode that lacks any true depth in it.     Gameplay is BROKEN, quality of a free mobile game. There’s no improvement at all, I would rather play madden 12 is insanely better than this. This should tell you a lot that if a game almost a decade older is better than the current one. Too bad EA puts no effort into the game at all.     Absolutely zero has been done to improve franchise mode. Nearly every aspect is broken, dated or both. Custom coaches use the same preset Appearance options that have been in the game for 5 years. Scouting is a joke and player progression has next to mother to do with on field performance.

I wanted to do this for the past few years but when EA is the only company allowed to make NFL simulation football games it forces you into buying it for a roster update. Not anymore though. If franchise mode doesn't get updated this year I'll wait for next year. In the meantime though I'll pay maxfootball 2020This is the first Madden game in my entire life that I past on and didn't buy.     What really makes me sad are all the kids growing up now who don't understand what everyone is so angry about. The kids who have never gotten to experience a good NFL game that features their favorite players and teams. They've had nothing but the same tired Madden experience but don't know enough to think that it could be better.

EA is making literally billions of dollars off this game every year they can afford to hire developers who would actually be able to achieve this. The frostbite engine is not build for football simulation and is out-preformed by game engines from 15 years ago. The only people happy with this gameplay are people who never played older football games or the "pro" players who just cheese the flaws in the game until it doesn't even resemble football anymore.

    No attention has been paid to making the franchise mode actually fun to play or a realistic sim. This has been completely broken since at least Madden 13. I've seen games played with dice and look-up tables that had more realism. MUT is a complete waste of time and/or money. The yard might be fun if it wasn't just another excuse to push micro-transactions.

    EA is such a shady, horrible company. Do they have no pride at all in the product they put their name on? Do they have no moral qualms about pushing gambling and micro-transactions on children? No wonder they can't get any developers with actual talent to come work for them and the ones that do try to get out of there as soon as they can.    … Expand

    Recycled animations, gameplay and modes. EA continues to make poor games and refuses to listen to the fans. They didn't update faces of some of the most famous stars in the NFL. The game is buggy and scripted. It really is just updated rosters and uniforms for a handful of teams. I hadn't bought Madden in 10 years before this year. This will likely be my last EA Madden purchase.

    Thinking about buying this game? Don’t. Do you own most or all of the Madden games like a majority of players? Then you already have 5+ versions of this game. As a replacement, withdrawal $64 and take it to your fireplace and light it on fire. Watch as the ash from your money falls into the fire with real physics. Speak aloud and comment on what you’re seeing as it’ll be more accurate.

I can't believe Madden 21 is made by the same company that made that game. If EA wants to make a terrible arcade gambling game for 5-year-olds than don't use up the exclusive sim NFL license. Why not just drop franchise mode and just have MUT and get an exclusive NFL arcade license. The yard is a Walmart version of NBA2K's park which I love. I just don't understand why EA couldn't just add one feature to franchise mode every year instead of taking away one feature of franchise mode each year. The face of the franchise mode is maybe the most cringe storyline I have ever seen. It's like the developers at EA saw how good 2K's mycareer is and said let's see how we can ruin this. The next thing is that I don't understand how people expect the gameplay to be realistic when the engine that Madden runs on isn't even made for a football game. The frostbite engine was made by EA in 2008 for first-person shooters. It was used in a lot of the Battlefield games. In 2017 EA starting acting like this engine was some new technology that was going to fix gameplay in Madden 18. They literally put it on the back of the box. This is why the gameplay in a football game made 16 years ago is better than this. The receivers in 2K5 could actually run a fade to the back of the endzone. The worst thing is as the game get's worse the price goes up. For me to even think about buying this game next year it Franchise mode needs to have a Coaching Carousel with Coaching skill trees, advanced scouting with descriptions for each player, advanced stat-tracking with year to year stats, more accurate simulation, more detailed and customizable relocation options, player morale where they could demand a contract extension or a trade, training camp, position battles, more accurate trade logic, non-op X-Factors, NFL rule changes (like in NBA2K), and modernize outside linebacker and defensive end specifications,. They also would have to fix the gameplay by making an engine specifically for football games. Lastly, make the yard exactly like the park in 2k and make it 3v3 and all online players (not CPU) instead of 6v6. The sad thing about all of this is that the people at EA won't even care about this awful user score because they are too busy making racks off five-year-olds using their mom's credit cards. In response to a low user score EA sports employee, Clint Oldenburg said " well 2 is better than 1". This is why I have no hope for EA to make a good football game ever again. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!     Haven’t bought and enjoyed a single madden since Madden 10. Micro transactions and glitches simulator is what you’re paying for this year. We all love 2k but even they’re starting to fall into the pit of what madden is now. Drop the contract if you want any support in this market.

    Steer clear of this game, several veterans free agents are missing (I.e. Clowney) due to player’s rights agreements, the game is incredibly glitchy and uninspired. Terrible job by EA as has been the case for several years now.

    NFL 2k5, as in 2005, as in FIFTEEN YEARS AGO, with TERREL OWENS on the cover, is leagues better than Madden 2021. That is absurd. Let EA die with this console generation and open the license back up. Give 2k a shot at a football sim again. ITS TIME!

    Don’t pay for this roster update. Franchise is reskinned, gameplay is buggy and animation based. Essentially it’s a Glorified gambling simulation targeted at kids, as it is has been every year on this current console generation.

    Another sad year, Im seriously frustrated this is what we get. I regret that I supported EA's product. I wont make that mistake again. Buying used till they decide to put real effort into making a game. so many bugs, terrible game play, its just plain not fun and EA continues its release of unfinished games.     * More Season/Career stats (like a list of all the previous superbowl games, seeing when a player joined a new team and naming what the team is)

    * Better AI clock management - Why would AI call their final timeout with like 14-20seconds left in the game when in IRL the team would call that final timeout with 3-2 seconds and then make a field goal for the win.

    * Slot receiver stats are overpowered - We keep seeing a bunch of mediocre slot wide receivers outperform the Best recievers in the game like Julio Jones or D-HOP every year

    * AI players who are losing the game still don't run out of bounds when they need to, they don't even attempt to run out of bounds.

    *Better Weather system - In IRL, in games, the weather can change sometimes right? lol, in one quarter of the game its cloudy, then next quarter it starts to rain. We need better Mother Nature in Madden.

    *When Quarterback scramble and get hit, they fumble like 80% of the time even when I change their carrying rating to 99. Fix that

    *Better Superbowl Celebration. You guys have had the same old celebration for the past 4-5 years frame by frame that lasts for like 30seconds. Change something up please.

    If you love Franchise Mode you are better off porting a roster for Madden 20 and playing that this cycle. Not a single new feature this year. The jokes are always, “it’s the same game every year nothing changes.” Well, this year Madden 21 is literally a copy and paste job. The paper is still warm from the photocopier.

    Madden NFL 21 is another blatant recycling of last year’s edition of the „simulation“ of the American football. Sadly, most of the modes remained the same. Gameplay received a few minor tweaks, and in the end it still persists as a cash grab not worth anybody’s time.

    For NFL diehards, there remains hundreds of gaming hours at your disposal in Madden 21. These same diehards – much like players of EA’s NHL and Sony’s The Show – will be left with the impression they’ve played this game before, however.
