    When I came here and saw reviews with high scores of 8 to 10 where people are stating that it was the best gaming experience of the year and praise the game I feel like I'm missing something. Or maybe they were talking about another game, I don't know. This game is basically a templated mess that took all the ideas from other games: I'm sure that the boss with a tail that attacks you while spinning was taken from Dauntless, the scanning mechanic was taken from a Minecraft mod that I have forgot the name of, etc etc. But let's just leave this, I don't really blame them, I can be wrong about the sources of inspiration after all. The game is not fun in the slightest.. All these 'cute' creatures, quests, scanning, listening to unending speeches of that nasty girl voice narrating the game, stupid satire that never made me smile. It's a boring experience that you ask to end faster, not to continue. I've finished the game and I cannot tell that I liked something at all. This is not a unique experience, the game for sure doesn't cost its price.… Expand

    Got it in ps+. A funny game at the beginning but it loses charm very fast. Unbalanced gameplay, there's too much or too little. Either it lacks a map, a freecam system and a way to teleport to base. Or a less punishing death and unlimited consumables, or simply a save. In this state it's a chore to experiment with jumps or items, since it involves heavy backtracking in case of failure

    Journey to the Savage Planet is a frustrating game. Not because it’s that hard (it’s not, at least not intentionally), and not because it’s broken (at least not too much). No, it’s frustrating because it’s so close to being a good game, and you can see the tweaks that would have made it a good game…but absent those tweaks, it all just feels like a giant missed opportunity.

    While it starts exceptionally strong, towards the end the game gets boring and the finale seems as creative as something I myself could have written in ten minutes. [04/2020, p.52]

    Its a wild, crazy, weird world out there. And you and a fellow victi…friend will be able to explore it. If you have been looking for an actually fun and enjoyable survivor exploration game then look no further. Even with a few hiccups, it can still be a nice adventure.
