This Game is amazing because its very fun! The story its compelling, very interesting, the characters equally, the missions and gameplay its very, very fun, And a game serves for that; for fun, for entertainment. Its a excelent exclusive that came very earlier. 80/100 is unfair, but life is like that, unfortunately!

Good points : the graphics are really good, we have many kinds of "power" to choose, the game is good in general and it uses the new features on the PS4 controller.
Bad points : It felt a little repetitive, I think I enjoyed the previous Infamous more and I also preferred FarCry4 and Wolfenstein a little more.
    My score : 7.5

czech Krásně vypadající hra, hratelnost je dobrá, vedlejší úkoly jsou úplně na jedno brdo a bez nápadu. Story není žádná sláva, ale určitě nic hrozného, lepší průměr. Na jedno zahrání super hra.

This game is amazing. It's quite a surprise since inFamous 2 really sucked. No point in talking about the graphics, which has been the symbol of the whole series. The rest of the game is actually very good this time, which is for the first time in this series. The story is definitely among the best video games. It even beats most of the X-Men movies, which have a similar setting. GameplayThis game is amazing. It's quite a surprise since inFamous 2 really sucked. The story is definitely among the best video games. It even beats most of the X-Men movies, which have a similar setting. Gameplay is much much better. Each of the 4 super powers provides a somewhat unique experience. Enemies are smart and tricky but still no match of the great protagonist. It really finds the delicate balance, so that the protagonist is powerful but not invincible. Side missions are well designed but lack variety. But they come with the right amount. You run out of side missions before you get bored, unlike these UBI sandbox games. Stencil art, skills, playstyle and the story of the other karma are enough reason for a second playthrough. And by the time you've finished your second playthrough you are minutes away from your platinum trophy. Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Pure awesomeness this game manages to significantly change the Infamous formula and not for the bad. The upgrade to next gen has truly showed with the most realistic looking cut scenes known in video games, but the game relies less on cartoon style cut scenes but don't worry they are still there. The game is far more fast paced than its predecessors, and the cover system is no longer implemented and now is replaced with a dashing system which makes Delsin fly to roof tops to recover health, but the majority of enemies have powers of their own, and they will follow you. In this game there is 4 different powers smoke, neon, Video and Concrete all having their own specialised characteristics depending on your alignment, so a good character with neon could focus and slow down time and aim for weak spots to subdue them, or with evil alignment have increased speed and conjure up a deadly stasis bubble. Instead of Ionic powers in infamous 2 you have karmic streaks that are similar but are used differently and there is a different 1 for each power, they are area of effect and take out pretty much all enemies and are earned by gaining karma in small bits. There is now 5 karma levels on each side and are easier to go though. Infamous second son is a must buy for around $50 Expand

This game was so good that I played through it three times on various difficulties so that I could get all the trophies, and I don't usually go for the platinum. Controls are intuitive, the powers that you get are just incredible, and I liked that there were moral choices to make as well. Definitely get this game.

If you're a fan of the infamous games you will injoy this one. New playerss will find it more difficult but after a while you should get a hang of it.
Graphic and the open world part of the game are it's strongest parts. One of the best looking games on tne PS4. Seattle looks amazing and grim at time. The sun and light effects are stunning. Game is a great looker.

Story isn't anything new but it's good enough. I liked the more goofy stuf that the first infamous did. Second son is more serious. The moral/karma aspect of the game is ok. Would like some more choice or choicr that makes more impact.
Combat is fast and responsive with a good mix of powers and upgrades. As always you have karma specific powers and appearance like in previous infamous games. There could have been a little more powers for my taste. Fights are interesting and bull rushing isn't the best way.
Overall inFamous:Second Son is a good game with stunning graphics, responsive combat and a good story. If you liked the earlier games it's a 8 out of 10. If you're new to the series pick it up and try ;)

The game looks stunning and obviously a lot of time was spent creating a big and lovely environment. I wish a little more time was spent on the story. Im not saying all games have to be serious but for this game in particular i personally wish they took it a little more seriously, instead of the slap stick/ not very funny

My other negative is the Paragon and Renegade options. This isnt a game which allows you to choose both. You have to follow one or the other. While this does gain more replayablity, in the grand scheme of things he renegade option never seem to make any sense.

But still, this game is still heaps of fun, a game you can spend hours with, without even knowing it. It also has the best use of the PS4 controller we have so far seen.

I thoroughly enjoyed this game from start to finish. The graphics are stunning and the gameplay controls are tight. I found the story interesting and the pacing was well done. I'm giving this game a 10 despite the fact that I enjoyed the First Light DLC even more (which says a lot), and I also gave The Last of Us a 10 (but it deserves an 11).

I'm hoping they do another DLC like First

This was one of the few PS4 exclusives I was stoked for. Unfortunately it does not live up to expectations.
Repetitive, super powers which aren't so super, story is not compelling. Graphics are pretty but it takes more than that to make a game work.
I tried to like it but haven't even finished it yet as I just can't commit the hours to this. There are MANY other games worth your time.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Definitely a good game, but it also lacks in some departments. First of all, the story is simply too short, and you'll see the ending coming from far, far away. The 4 powers (Smoke, Neon, Video and Concrete) are very cool, when I got Video I was blown away that SuckerPunch managed to somehow turn that into a power. However, Concrete really isn't good enough. Also, the game really lacks in the post-story content. When you've all of it there's nothing to do besides the repeating D.U.P. raids. However, the voice acting is simply brilliant! Troy Baker did an outstanding job as Delsin, just like all other actors and their characters. Graphics are also brilliant for an open world game so early in the generation. Expand

Infamous Second Son is a wonderful game in terms of game play and graphics.
The new control lay out of PS4 offered something new in the game play dynamics and interaction.
However the story is plain and did not offer something new to the franchise. Enemies are very limited and repetitive, you have a hard time to relate or attach to the characters. Positive things: + Next gen

Story is ok enough to keep you interested, but not as strong as it was in previous titles. I also felt that there were less karma choices in this game. But in this title it was nice change of fresh air, that the side missions had more variety, and were not your standard GTA-type missions. Game was well paced this way.

I only encountered one bug on my play through, near the ending of the game, where on action prompt didn't appear when I arrived at mission destination. But killing the character/restarting mission fixed it, and didn't happen again.

The game delivers perfect performance and stunning graphics, very detailed city. Game balance and AI are perfect. I played on hard and it was very funny meanwlile a bit challenging. AI isn't perfect, but not bad actually.

Delsin is very nice hero, other characters either. Broken destinies of super-people such as Fetch, Gamer, Smoke-Guy.

The gameplay is very funny, but there were not so much tips and hits as i'd loved to. Sometimes actually gameplay seems too monotonous. In the whole amount of superpowers they all give almost the same effect with minimal changes in gameplay and practical advantages between each other. I mean I loved that plenty of powers but, you know, the whole game I could complete with only smoke or neon, or video powers.

    It a little disappointed me.

    Story:

The Story of Infamous. Second Son starts pretty funny and Delsin Rowe is a cool and funny protagonist. But at the end it gets very emotional. You can decide if you want to play good or evil, but the good side fits better to Delsin. Moreover, it's always clear which way is the good and which the evil one. If you switch between them, you lose Karma Points (=EP). 8,5/10

This game is excellent. I waited until it came out to grab a Ps4 and it certainly didn't disappoint. The only reason that it's a 9 is the story wasn't as good as the original InFamous and the amount of blast shards and audio logs was rather small. First things first, this game is a blast. It's simply fun in a way that reminds me of how the simplest games twenty-five years ago could lock me in for hours at a time and how death never felt disappointing.

The story, however, isn't fleshed out. It's hard for me to ignore that it feels like they were working with a good story that just didn't get implemented perfectly into the core gameplay.

For what it's worth though, that's pretty much what the first two InFamous games were like. They were both fun, graphically spectacular, but the story was serviceable at best. This is no RPG. It's an action game and the story is a relative weakness, if not a moot point throughout much of the experience. It's a way to have some kind of purpose, however unreasonable or illogical, to get you from action A to action B.

It's the action that locks me in to all of the inFamous games and this one blew me away. The bigger the action, the better the graphics generally have to be. Second Sun shines on the PS4. It's gorgeous. The weather and particle effects show off the power of the PS4 in a way none of my other games do. Often it runs above 30FPS, making climing and exploring the city dolphin smooth.

I was hesitant to buy the game until it was on sale for $20. Now I'd pay full price for it. The inFamous series has always felt like one of the most under-exposed game franchises ever. I don't know but one person who has played any of them. If you enjoyed any of the other inFamous games, Second Son is a no brainer. It's a must-have for anyone who enjoyed the other games enough to complete them. It's intuitive, glitch-free (for me, absolutely), beautiful, exciting, and best of all, fun.

The story takes place 7 years after the events of the second game. Things are worse now and a new organization called the DUP lead by villain Brook Augustine capture and imprison all individuals with super powers called conduits labelled as bioterrorist and do experiments on them.

After a truck carrying 3 conduits crashes, two of them escape while the third comes into contact with Delson Rowe, the main character of the game who is a graffiti artist and a Native American. Delson learns that he is also a conduit that can absorb power from other conduits.

His main mission, with the help of his brother who is a police officer is to go to Seattle, to the main headquarters and absorb Augustine’s powers to save the tribe from dying after she used her powers on them.

The world of infamous: Second Son is visually impressive. This time, you will be exploring with new powers. Unlike before, you will get the powers by absorbing what is closest to you. This new system adds to the diversity in the gameplay as you will have to adapt quickly to the changes while battling. Smoke power is gained by absorbing chimneys and flaming fire. Neon Powers from neon signs and video from television. Each power can be upgraded by collecting shards scattered around the map creating even bigger powers which is a lot of fun. The city of Seattle has a lot of small nice details; however, the enemies aren’t varied and sadly, there weren’t enough boss battles.

The main campaign is around 12-13 hours and the side missions get repetitive after a while with little to no difference in the difficulty. The mortality system is back and very straight forward. You can be either good or bad and nothing in between. Even though the morality system plays well with the story, the choices this time around have no real impact. The game would have had a more meaning full connection with the player if the obvious red and blue color were removed and more options were added to create some tensions while choosing, leading to surprises instead of it being clear what you will play as from the very beginning.

I found the characters in this game to be enjoyable especially the main villain, Brooke Augustine who plays brilliantly adding to the overall suspense. Infamous: Second Son is a good game but it could have been better, let’s hope a sequel can fix some issues and let the game reach its true potential. The story wasn’t memorable and the morality system was weak; however, the action and fun gameplay make up for this and creates an overall enjoyable game.

This inFamous game shows off the pro's and the con's of all video games. It wasn't as good as I expected it to be but still held on the the fun ride that the earlier games started.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've finally got myself a PS4 and inFamous Second Son is obviously my first game on the new console, as I'm a fan of the series since the first installment. Since I'm a bit late for the party, I'll keep it to the point, in the pros-cons style.
    Strengths:
    - Graphics. They're awesome, the console generation leap is noticeable here.
    - Brothers. The only well-written aspect of the plot, Delsin and Reggie are kinda relatable and I could empathize with them.
    - Powers. They're original (really, there's no other game where you can control neon, or video, or concrete) and deadly and mostly useful, although lack of a simple grenade is a bit disappointing.
    Weaknesses:
    - Plot. The characters are mostly poorly written with little development. (For instance, you fight Fetch in one mission, BAM you're best friends in the next one, and BAM you bang her in the third one. Well, that was fast.) I hated Eugene in particular, he's a super-stereotyped nerd whom I hated and his boss fight was the worst designed one, all those angels and **** ugh.
    - Pacing. The storyline is very short and Seattle isn't very big, it took me around 16 hours to complete the game with ALL of the side missions, 100%. Besides, the last power, concrete, is given to you only in the last story mission, so you can't really use it anywhere but in clearing out the few remaining districts.
    - Karma. As before, here you don't get to choose between good and evil during your playthrough, but BEFORE it, as opposite karma-based missions are actually locked out this time. So even though I, whilst playing hero, was really mad at Augustine, I just couldn't choose the option to kill her. I'll do an infamous playthrough for that, of course, but still.
    - Continuation. Or the lack of it. I mean, there is little to no connection to the events of the first two parts, except for some lame paid DLC, this is ridiculous. As a fan of the series, I'm disappointed.
To sum up, SS mostly keeps up with its predecessors, the gameplay and graphics are stellar, but the plot and pacing have their issues. Not a system-seller, but definitely should be on your list when you've got the PS4.

The game is brilliant. Graphics are great, gameplay is great and the story is pretty good. Gameplay is really fun. Its a nice break from traditional generic FPS game, although I do like those. My only gripe was that it wasn't long enough. I could just keep playing and playing and playing. It may have been 10 times longer than say a CoD campaign, but it was so good that I just wanted more.

Better to start with the fact that I was never a fan and generally the man who would go through any part of a series of inFamous. I played the demo for the ps3, and the game never managed to catch me. When I decided to still go through the Second Son for the next generation, I was initially quite skeptical tuned to the game. But what? Another InFamous but on ps4. Oh how I was wrong, and I'm glad I decided to test myself on this wrong. Firstly, the open world of the game is made of course not perfect, but very good. Run / jump and fly over it really brings aesthetic pleasure. A sort of a mixture of GTA, Prototype, past InFamous games and something else, which together made the city great. Secondly, it is the main character. How I got tired of images "bald" Rambo in each game. Huge, with big muscles, a kind of carbon paper with different hairstyles in all games. Delsin Rowe - this is absolutely the first protagonist in games of this genre, which is awesome. It's actually a young man, I believe the developers that he is really a man who surprised that he can do some strange things! Well, finally, thirdly, the ending of this game is completely chopped me to pieces in the best sense of the word. I realized what influenced my choice "to be a hero" and what would be if I chose to be a "goat." I realized by design, and when we went to "titles" under the cover of Nirvana I was just 2-3 minutes without moving. Bottom line: the best of all InFamous definitely one of the best open world games, great ending. Of the minuses I note the lack of desire to play in the "Free-Roam", well, the logical end of the game there are enough already. And minus for me was the fact that at certain moments of the game, in some chapters, I briefly start dropping off, total the game has little trouble keeping the audience in suspense. Great action, do not pass by. Ranked # 8 of 10. Expand

Expand

CONS: First off, the man character is corny and lame. He comes off as too giddy and fearless. The character development sucks. The storyline was so incredibly shallow, it was surprising. It was easy to see from a mile away that the Policeman brother will die. The powers were all cookie cutter. Each power had a rapid fire mode, an ammo-based power attack, and a super blast charge-up power. Also, the storyline was predictable and repetitive.

    Some spoilers within.
Ok, so this isn't really a "review" exactly, more like "good news, bad news"

First the good. Graphics are, of course, amazing. Especially Neon powers. Absolutely gorgeous.
I've heard complaints about the story, characters, and plot. Honestly, yes it's not perfect, but no game is. I really connected with Delsin and got into his head.
The powers.... oh man the powers are, to use Delsin's words, The powers are awesome! Love them.
And the destruction is fantastic. I love going around and tearing down what the D.U.P. has put up.
The city... again I've heard complaints that it didn't feel alive. I can't understand that though, I love how the city interacts with you. How the citizens will stop and take pictures of out of the ordinary things. How they'll run away when things happen. And other such things. Felt really alive to me.

    Ok, the downsides....
First... too damn short. More a nitpick than a complaint, but it really was too short.
The powers.... while they were really awesome, seriously awesome. I was/am disappointed that you couldn't switch powers on the fly. I also would've liked a bit more variability in the powers.
    and the biggest "complaint"
The last power you get, concrete, isn't fully fleshed out. I know it's basically a post game power, but they still should've filled in the last slots anyway.

Helping, or killing citizens, be good or be bad, that's what i love about the InFamous games, and this one takes it up the next level. The story's pretty decent, nothing special by any means. What i love second most about this game is the character portraits. Delsin Rowe is 10 times more likable than Cole ever was in the previous games. He's funny, and absolutely LOVES having superpowers and that's what's so cool about him, and i don't blame him when playing the game. All of the characters from his brother Reggie and the three conduits: Hank, Fetch and Eugene. You genuinely care for them, because they're so round and unique. Even Augustine the main villain, is one my favorite video game villains of all time. There's just something about her, that makes you feel she could really be some government evil military super **** like in the movies. The voice acting and her appearance all the way from her face and hair to the trench coat and boots, she's really believable and i think SuckerPunch really made an effort with her and all of the characters not to make them forgettable like most others from the previous titles. The boss battles are also super cool, especially the last one is epic. The only downside to this game is how short it is. You're definitely gonna see the end credits roll sooner than you'd like. There's not much to do outside of the main story either. There's only five side quests in total in each of the districts and that includes the district showdowns. There are a lot of drones and people to interact with to get your karma meter filling but it's too easy and too soon you've unlocked all of your powers and districts. Even if you play the game twice as both evil and good, it's just not enough to justify the length. I really hope that Delsin Rowe will return in the sequel, i really dig him. And it would just feel too boring and degrading to just have only one superpower again when you can have four in this one. Also in the next one, there's got to be more to do both the main missions and the side ones and more to do in the world and it should be a larger map. Expand

The visuals are beautiful and the acting of protagonist Delsin Rowe, starred by Troy Baker is great! I played through the game first time, as a goody two shoes and the story was great. The second play though I played as a bad *** and the story was definitely better and more fun as an evil character. The acting, to the powers was just way more entertaining. The only downfall of the game is, it feels very short and I was begging for more. The length of the game is still worthy of a 10. Expand

Previous main character Cole Macgrath is gone however if, like me you got the limited edition you can a small dlc which is meant to be the bridge for the two games and when you complete it you get his jacket to wear.
Gameplay is a little bit downgraded from infamous 1 and 2 and plays more like FoB. Delsin Rowe unlike Cole can fly around the city and run straight up walls, however this comes later in the game as in this new Infamous game we get 4 powers to play with. Sadly they all feel the same mostly, ya there are differences between them but for the most part they are the same. Oh and the last power concrete you get for the final boss and post-story so you are left with a new toy and nothing to do with it.
Graphically this game is amazing. There are incredible particle effects for each power and the draw distance is great. Honestly Infamous Second Son is probably the best looking game on ps4 as of writing.
And the story is pretty good but a bit predictable, I can't guarantee you will like it but I sure did. And really I think all the people who say the characters are bland and 1 dimensional just glanced at them. They all have good backstories and the facial expressions a great.
But I have one big complaint and that is that the moral choice has next to no effect. It doesn't affect the story much and all you get for maxing out one way is a new jacket to wear. The only thing it determines is a few different missions and what ending you get. And that ending may sound good but it happends on what you pick at the start of the game, so no the morals in this game aren't very good.

Trophies are fun to achieve but the overall meta is pretty simple.

Definitely recommend this game for anyone looking for a few weeks to a month of game play - can do at least two play throughs to see the story from both good and evil side - especially if the price drops.

I do expect this game to be the first triple A game to be released via PSN but not for atleast a year.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Infamous: Second Son has been heavily hyped as the reason to buy a PS4. This is in no small part due to the fact that it is a sequel to a popular Playstation series, has a unique set of gameplay altering abilities and (probably its most important hype grabber) is absolutely beautiful. So, is Second Son the essential purchase that everyone has made it out to be? In short, yes. In long, here's why.

First and foremost, the story is utterly gripping. The first two games had an alright protagonist in the form of Cole. He was likeable enough and began to get better in the sequel, but most of the time he had the personality of a wet sponge. Delsin Rowe is easily better, yet this isn't highly apparent as you begin the game. He seems to be a bit of a hipster and the way he talks to himself and drops one-liners reminded me of Jason from Far Cry 3- he was the only thing I didn't like about that game. However you will soon warm to him, as he begins to understand how serious his situation really is. This is helped by Troy Baker's excellent voice acting (he seems to be in everything these days). Delsin is part of a Native American tribe and his adventure begins when he absorbs the powers of an escaped Conduit. With his tribe members sickened by evil DUP leader Brooke Augustine, Delsin needs tto travel to Seattle and absorb more powers if he is going to have any hope of defeating Augustine and her loyal band of soldiers. The story is more relatable than the original games' whole Beast "thing" and Travis Willingham does a fine job alongside Baker as Delsin's kind- hearted brother, Reggie Rowe. The story only gets better as you get deeper, meeting more conduits and absorbing more powers (of which there are four). This is a nice sep up for the series.

Content wise, you can get around 25 hours out of the game, with both sides taking around 12.5 hours to 100%. The campaign consists of 20 missions and after that you must clear out all of the 13 Seattle districts from DUP control. The activities required to do this are repeated and the side mission structure of the previous games is pretty well gone. However, I didn't mind the new approach. The control centres are hard to beat and the collectibles are all marked out. The various secret agent and camera activities test your reactions and the graffiti minigames are surprisingly fun and are a good showcase of the controller's new abilities. In fact, the controller gets a bit of a showcase, with the touchpad used for draining and switching powers, the triggers used for shooting and the back light used for the representation of the morality you have chosen.

The open world itself isn't massive, but it is dense, realistic and very, very beautiful. The particle effects are absolutely stunning and while the game rarely takes you into interiors, sometimes you can even see into certain buildings. This gives a sense of a three dimensional space and is more effective than the 2D fronts or the empty lighted windows. Seattle probably isn't the most exceptional open world of all time, but it is technically stunning.

Gameplay wise, the game is fine tuned and an absolute blast to play. Delsin's power is to take other powers (kind of like Rogue but without all the comas and sickness). You get four powersets across the course of the game, with smoke being the first one. It's similar to Cole's electricity and is like the assault rifle/ shotgun combo of Delsin's powers. It's good enough, but it is neon where things get really good. It plays out like the sniper class and while it may not have the best Karmic streak attack (these are clearout moves and smoke is the best btw), it is a beautiful power and when fully upgraded, will enable you to get around in no time due to the Quicksilver like super running. Video is still the best power though, due to its SMG qualities. The summoning of angels and demons is crazy, but cool and the quick move option is enjoyable. As for the rocket attack- it's deadly and instead of grenades, you get to turn invisible. The final power is given when you defeat the final boss. Concrete is a rehash of the previous powers and is fairly disappointing. The traversal isn't as smooth as what we had with Cole, but the quick move options with the powers make up for this and the melee is finally sorted out, making you feel like a Conduit Kratos.

Many feel that the game has a dated morality system. After the Witcher's "grey' style this is a little true, but being good is still a stragically fun experience as you try to avoid casualties and being bad is a blast! As for the choices- they're pretty harrowing and will certainly make you feel sorry for Delsin when h only has too options. The new karmic opportunities are also cool and the powers slightly change depending on your allegiance.

Second Son isn't groundbreaking, but it is a beautiful, enjoyable adventure that provides a cool protagonist, a great story and amazing gameplay. Now I eagerly await the fourth game.

The graphics of inFAMOUS Second Son are the best graphics of all of console history. Combine that with a mostly solid 60 frames per second and you will get a game that will be very pleasing to the human eye.

Now, on to the gameplay. Even though the story is pretty short, it kept me intrigued through the whole game. It was not too serious of a story like the last two inFAMOUS games, which I kinda liked since it was set in a modern city in which the civilians in it weren't too drastically in danger than the other games. The character development was also very well done with each different character in the game feeling widely different in terms of skill and personality. The combat in Second Son is the best I have seen in a video game. It is just so fast paced and smooth, and if you can master a power good enough, you can see yourself wiping away through enemies with a grin on your face. All 4 powers in the game varies very differently, changing up your combat procedures frequently. Was using smoke to take out a bunch of enemies but ran out of juice? Drain some neon and take a more tactical and slow approach to wipe out your enemies. The karma system in the game did not offer as much as I expected it too in terms of power, but the story did change a lot from good to evil.

When you beat the rather short but very fun story in Second Son, you are left with the open world of Seattle to roam around and finish all the side quests. The side quests of the game are very repetitive and aren't actually quests, but rather small mini games like finding the hidden enemy in a crowd of civilians or spray painting a good/evil image on a wall. These can be done fast and when the whole open world is completed of objectives, you don't really have anything to do, sadly. There is the free "Paper Trail" DLC that allows you to do some really cool detective work on a computer and hunt down the criminals in game, which I found very hard (a good thing) but a cool idea at its own pace.

This game is one of the most enjoyable of next-gen so far and all PlayStation 4 owners must own the game! I give this game a 9/10.
