    InFamous Second Son is a very fun game, it has an amazing combat system and great levels with an engaging fun story. The levels always take place in the awesome looking open world and it’s very easy to get lost of how amazing the open world is. The enemies and bosses you encounter are excellent, however the game can get repetitive with some aspects and the skill tree is very messy. The combat is very well made to, you have a variety of powers to use and you get new ones as you go in the story. Speaking of the story it’s very fun it’s not complex it’s just a superhero movie it’s awesome, and the soundtrack supports both the gameplay and story truly an amazing score. InFamous Second Son is a really unique game, it has so much to it from story to gameplay, the game always gives you a lot of ways to explore and battle your way through enemies and bosses, I just wish if they made the skill tree a bit more fixing, overall a really damn impressive game.     Infamous Second Son was one of the first game being released on PS4. Now, in 2020, I can safely say that the game didn't aged really well. So, when I started the game, my first impression was a bit negative. However, after a few hours, I found the game fun and creative. I liked the fact that Delsin has many different powers and you have a lot of freedom in the way you use them.

    This is    Infamous Second Son was one of the first game being released on PS4. Now, in 2020, I can safely say that the game didn't aged really well. So, when I started the game, my first impression was a bit negative. However, after a few hours, I found the game fun and creative. I liked the fact that Delsin has many different powers and you have a lot of freedom in the way you use them.

    This is also an open world sandbox game which was quite new in 2014. I didn't completed all of the optional quests as I found repetitive to always fight DUP agents. For the main story, you can expect a game that will last around 10 hours.

    This game, for me, was not really memorable and the story didn't hooked me at all...I acknowledge this is a good game overall but I was looking forward to just finish it and go to the next game

    The inFamous series is just a fantastic story. The idea of being a conduit is absolutely fun. Second Son is a great game from start to finish. Highly recommend, hopefully a new installment comes sometime in the near future.

    Beautiful graphics, great characters and love the less serious tone the game has. Its also cool that Delsin has more than one power which gives the gameplay a bit more variety. The game also has a very cool art style which is my favorite in the franchise. Unfortunately The length of the story is the same as a call of duty campaign and the story itself isn't great. This contrast mode they've put in turned out terrible, IMO, even if I set it on low and raise brightness the most I can, the game still weirdly dark. like really dark, I can't see a thing most of the time.     Anyways, it's not terrible, but I was happy it didn't took long to finish it, and I'm not going back any time soon.    … Expand

Yes the ending is predictable from the beginning of the game, at the end of the story on the player fall just whole crowds of enemies, which is very annoying. But after the game you enjoy what you have done, it is a pity that there is nothing to do in the world except the main plot. The additional assignments are so one-of-a-kind that they are remembered by the 2007 Assassins Creed.… Expand

    The story was really good, but what pulled this game off was all the hugely new variety of powers. Switching between smoke, and light, and sound. That was unique and a lot of fun. The story was still good, and interesting. But the combat and game play was the main working point for this game. It was just fun racing through the city, or flying above.     Ich Spiel das Spiel jetzt zum 2 Mal durch und fand es damals schon gut. Kla die Story ist nicht sonderlich gut aber auch nicht schlecht und grafisch ist es heute immer noch top und kann mit anderen spielen locker mit halten

    La historia es buena a secas, pero es demasiado corta, con pocos jefes y una batalla final algo decepcionante.
    No obstante las misiones extras son muy divertidas y le agregan mucha durabilidad al juego: destruir los puntos de control, destruir las cámaras de seguridad, encontrar y destruir las cámaras ocultas, encontrar y destruir los drones, encontrar a los espías encubiertos, liberar todo un distrito del DUP, atrapar a las bandas criminales, liberar a los sospechosos de las jaulas del DUP y, por supuesto, dejar nuestra marca en forma de grafitis.

    Todo lo anterior con un aprovechamiento asombroso de todas las funcionalidades del Dualshock4: six-axis, botón táctil, panel táctil, luz del control.

    GRÁFICOS:
    Visualmente el juego es bueno. Las cinemáticas son buenas, pero las expresiones faciales de los personajes no están bien logradas por lo que un par de cinemáticas que deberían ser bastante tristes no logran profundizar en el jugador.

    La narrativa y el estilo visual de Cómic de las mismas son estupendas.

    Lo que sí es horroroso es la iluminación. Es pésima, no importa si es de día o de noche, siempre hay algo demasiado iluminado en la pantalla que arruina la experiencia de juego. Morí varias veces porque no podía ver dónde estaba ni qué estaba haciendo.

    SONIDO:
    Nada especial, es probablemente el apartado más débil del juego.

    INNOVACIÓN:
    La balanza entre el bien y el mal es buena, no solo por las decisiones que puedes tomar a lo largo del juego (que son muy pocas) sino porque el simple hecho de lastimar a un civil por error afecta a esa balanza. Yo lo jugué como Héroe y me divertí mucho, pero pienso jugarlo como Villano para ver las diferencias en la trama.

    Very fun game. Much better than inFamous 1. The story is nothing special but what do you expect? It is supposed to be a comic-book superhero game. inFamous is all about using your powers and causing chaos. The game has nice destructible environments and I hope we will see more destructible environments in games in the future. It's not on the level I want to see like you can destroy anVery fun game. It's not on the level I want to see like you can destroy an enemy outpost and blow up cars but if you attack at a mirror in a building or a door then nothing happens but hopefully this changes soon and we will get games with fully destructible environments but I highly appreciate the efforts made by this game.

    My biggest complaint is that though the game allows you to be either Good or Evil, both the playthroughs feel largely the same and the story remains unaltered. It makes a second run pointless. Normally this wouldn't be a problem but this is also a very short game even on the hardest difficulty it is very easy and will not take more than 10 hours unless you are spending a lot of time on the side activities which are kinda dull like finding a camera or killing some target.

    One thing I noticed on my second (Evil) playthrough is that the game also has a side mission called The Paper Trail or something like that and it requires you to connect to the internet once. I was not able to play this mission on my first (Good) playthrough. Maybe it was there and I didn't notice so I'm not sure if this is only exclusive to Evil karma. But anyways, I first thought that it was gonna be interesting since it was about a conduit made of Paper. (He/She leaves paper behind every where they go.) But it just went on and on and on where you have to follow the trail over and over again and click pictures and it just became a chore. The side content is really not worth looking into. But you still have a nice 10 hour worth of solid story and gameplay. I wouldn't recommend this at $60 but it is definitely worth at least $30 or so. I should also mention that the graphics look really nice and I was able to see pores on the characters faces and the soundtrack is awesome too.    … Expand

    I was really excited for this game. I really enjoyed the first two on PS3 - but something about this one just didnt click with me. The graphics and setting were great - and I actually liked the main character despite that being one of the biggest issues critics had with the game. Traversal was fun - and I liked exploring.     inFAMOUS Second Son is a phenomenal game. It is such a fun game to play, thanks to Delsin's superhuman abilities, the outstanding triple A graphics and a quite interesting story line. The game's only flaw is that it can be repetitive at times, and the ambient soundtrack is not that great.

    I played for 2 hours. It started good but it's too difficult for me even in easy mode, so I quited. It's a pity 'cause although it seems quite different from the earlier Infamous, I found it too repetitive and difficult in only 2 hours. I don't know why there are so many bad games for ps4 if I compare it with ps3 and ps2.

    The writing is alright, the characters are somewhat charismatic, but its graphics, its soundtrack, its "choose-your-own-path" system, and its nice interaction with the Dualshock 4 are what make this game a must play for any PS4 owner.

    inFamous Second Son is a beautiful showcase of what the original PS4 is capable of.

    Infamous may be fun and interesting on the first hours of gameplay, but the rest of the game makes you feel empty and bored. My biggest issue with this game is the poor story and repetitive gameplay . In my opinion, the gameplay is ok, but lacks of something to make it fun and enjoyable. Delsin (main character) is not a good protagonist as Cole (Infamous 1 and 2). In general, is a mediocre game.

    Very fun. I'd played the first Infamous and it was a good experience but not like with this game. The map is big but not enormous, so you can go from side to side really fast. The spells make you feel really powerful. The difficulty curve is really good but not perfect. Recommended.

    I played it for 30 minutes and then I deleted it.So boring. I heard that now with the release on PS4 is better and I wonder how bad game it was without the improvements?
    Anyway for the records the game came to my library because i am a psn plus member and it was a free game. Lucky me, i did not pay it.

    At first,. I didn’t enjoy the game. I hated having the smoke ability (its my least favorite of the 4) but then you meet Fetch and you obtain the Neon ability. What I liked about that is I could aim and actually gain good karma by shooting their legs.

    Now the Karma is something I should explain, almost every action you make you choose between good and bad karma. Bad Karma is probably easier to go with, you obtain better abilities with Bad Karma but you’re a super hero in this game so being a selfish dick that I couldn’t relate to so I chose to go for Good Karma.

    Are there any similar games?

    I haven’t played anything that I could say its similar to. I’m sure its similar to the other Infamous games but I haven’t played any of them.

    Favorite Character?

    I liked the main Characters (Delsin) brother Reggie. Reggie was a stereotypical older brother who was a police officer. Overly protective and there wasn’t a lot of character development but I at least find him to be one of the more relatable characters in the game.

    Would you play it again?

    No, I enjoyed the game but nothing really stood out about this game that makes me want to play this again or even another infamous game.

Personally i could sit down for hours just exploring the city of Seattle and fighting off the D.U.P to liberate each district , slowly but surely loosing their clutch. Which brings me into the story of this game. To put it blunt, it could be better. Its not bad, not in the slightest. But it could be a little longer and more interesting. Maybe its just about how "InFAMOUS 2" had such a high staked and emotional story that kinda gave a sense of disappointment for some players when it comes to the story of "InFAMOUS: Second Son".     Generic openworld game, it doesn't shine in any aspect but also it doesn't fail in anyone. Once you start it you won't stop until you have cleaned all the city from enemies. Using delsin powers is really fun btw. 8/10.

Infamous Second Son: A PlayStation exclusive that was the first game to show off the power of the PS4 (yay) and all the things the new controller can do (Not as much yay.) A soft reboot of the original Infamous series you play as Delsin Rowe who lives on a Native American reservation north of Seattle. One day a prison transport carrying conduits (basically X-men) crashes and you accidentally absorb the powers of one. Now you have to go to Seattle with your sheriff brother to get a special power to save the nice Native Americans and defeat the evil government forces who have the city under martial law.

    The game has you take down districts in a standard open-world fashion. Each takedown ends with a large battle which is usually quite well down. There are also four distinct boss battles related to gaining powers that are a little less successful. They are not as bad as say Deus Ex: Human Revolution but they have the annoying habit of ignoring your progress and skills for a cheap arena battle.

    The Good: The game is downright beautiful. The action is often fun and chaotic. You eventually get three powers (smoke, neon, and video) with a fourth power (Concrete) available post game. The powers are different enough to be enjoyable and you will find your favorite. You are restricted to only one power at a time which unfortunately restrict the mix and match on the fly a bit.

    The game’s main character voiced by Troy Baker is not nearly as irritating as the promo materials would lead you to believe. His relationship with his brother is actually kind of touching. He does have that annoying Niko Bellic habit of not being able to see a plot twist in neon orange with a well lit blinking arrow pointed to it.

    You main action loops of fighting the super-powered mooks and destroying their bases are quite fun with a decent mix of strategy and action.

    The Bad: Unfortunately to clear the districts there are side activities such as graffiti tagging (complete with annoying motion controls) and Where’s Waldo (find the undercover agent.) These start out meh and becoming draining by the third district or so. There is simply no variety.

    While your actions on the city of Seattle are permanent (destroyed guard towers stay destroyed), there is never any reason to visit a district once you cleared it. It is a lot of work for no payoff outside of progression.

    Sometimes the game will decide it is night and it will continue to be night until you do a mission to advance the game and change the time of day. Side missions, in particular, are often a bear at night (or even dusk another popular choice) so one finds themselves advancing the game through main missions trying to get decent lighting so they can mop up the side missions. This takes one out of the narrative a tad.

    Second Son continues the Infamous tradition of two paths one good and one evil. You get different attacks and a different ending depending on which you choose. There is no nuance in the process and it seems to have no effect on any story beats outside of the conclusion. Compared to even Bioware or Fable's attempts at the same it is a crude underutilized tool that never really satisfies and sometimes doesn’t make sense.

    In Conclusion: Infamous Second Son is a beautiful game with solid mechanics. It is also like playing Saints Row 4 with all the fun bits removed. Everyone is going to take the same path with the same character. There is little creativity outside of some at the moment strategy while taking out bases. The city is sealed tight, sure, but it is probably safer than real Seattle. Give it a year and after "freeing" a zone I bet there are double the number of dealers and mafias. The normal policeman in-game are as tough as wet cardboard.
    If the player chooses to be good . . . He is doing good. If Delsin could be a part of the DUP everyone would love them and be more cooperative. They would just need to be more nice to people and people would kiss the ground where they walk for healing sick people and crushing crime.
    And, if the player chooses to act evil, it just shows WHY the DUP was there to begin with - showing that they should have been even tougher. It shows why people should support the DUP and enlist to to stop those mass murder loonies.
    Graphics are nice, music is Ok, combat is nice, but the story is so dumb and bad written that the game makes me feel like fighting WITH the DUP than AGAINST the DUP. Also, **** Reggie. He is a ****    … Expand

    If you haven't played this game yet give it a try you wont regret it.

I finished it in a couple days but they were a really fun couple of days I loved the mechanics the idea of taking other powers it was awesome, but I have two problem with it. It’s short, the death in the game is unsatisfactory and leaves so much to be desired even if the ending was very sweet, and the evil mode.

    Boy, if this game was just the evil mode my score would drop down easy, but the evil route, oh boy.

    Yes I know evil route is supposed to be easier but that’s the keyword EASIER not so easy I beat the game in literally a Under 5 HOURS

    Wow, the evil routes story, absolute RUBBISH, nothing changes drastically from the good route other than the ending, a couple of missions change but only a couple and what I really hate is nothing changes towards the end, I thought maybe you’d kill your brother or kill the other characters but no the worst thing that evil delsin does is bang a girl who is obviously in no state to know what she’s doing and kill Betty and assumingly all of the people of the tribe which is only in the ENDING of the evil route.

    Ending- LAUGHABLE, LITERALLY, I LAUGHED

    Game-Reggie doesn’t even try to stop delsin he’s just like “ah cool killing street performers again whatever”

    I play this game since i first bought ps4 last year, i rented this game from my friend for 5 bucks a month, i stunned on how good this game is. Defining next gen and ps4 launch title. Last month i got this game for free on ps plus igc, im happy to replay this game again, the seattle is so good in this game. Worth buying, and next year im definitly get ghost of tsusima, day one

The story is quite simple,but fine, the gameplay about 7/10, but the atmosphere and all this heroic Sh*t is absolutely incredible! Power changes are really interesting (the neon one is delicious), graphics also incredible, this lightning,oh man, gameGood one. One of them was overpowered main protagonist. InFamous is a carbon copy. We also have overpowered main protagonist and a bit silly narrative.You can be good or you can be bad, the choice is yours. In fact, this prolongs gameplay after you finish main story. It has no difference if you use your power for good or for bad. All superpowers are basically the same: quick and deadly. No matter which power you set active , it will always kill your enemies in most spectacular way. Technically, this is a PlayStation 4 showcase game so It's aesthetically pleasing.The attention to detail is amazing and getting around the beautifully rendered Seattle is a real treat for your eyes. The powers in either path could have been more diverse and distinguishable from each other. Main story was also a bit short for my liking. That's about it though.

    I loved the first Infamous, it was my first action game on the PS3. This is my first action game on the PS4 - and Sucker Punch have delivered the goods once again in emphatic style. Excellent game.    … Expand

    Playing this in 2017, this still feels very recent due to its excellent graphics. I had a really good time, mostly by getting to grips with all the different combos and moves Delsin could do. The story itself didn't really bother me, which has most to do with the fact that I couldn't change the speaking language.     P.s The characters are about as cliche as they come and the motives for their actions are so convoluted it's laughable.

    Second Son clearly gets better as you gain new powers and improve the abilities, but it requires a bit of patience at the beginning. In fact, I would say the game is better once you have beaten or almost beaten it, since there is more freedom and you can just roam to accomplish the secondary objectives and so on.

    During the storyline, the city is too obscure in my opinion (I even had to increase the bright to be able to see), and it does not surprise as the original game did. The graphics are not brilliant either; they look like PS3 graphics.

    I do appreciate that you can choose between good and bad karma (I prefer bad; it is easier to be evil hehe). The differences are not huge anyway, but at least there are different endings and some minor varieties in powers. Another aspect I really liked is the fact that the game uses some of the options of the controller: microphone, tactile screen, movement... The game had been launched together with the console if I remember well, so it is normal they wanted to integrate those elements.

    The gameplay is so good, the history too. I´m enjoying this game, got on Plus September 2017 and the game is really fun. I do recommend this game, it´s really enjoyable.

Really enjoyed the gameplay mechanics, and the game kept it fresh by introducing new powers as you go along.

    The only downside is the graphics. For 2017, after being mindblown by awesome    I didn't know what to expect from this game as it was my first Infamous game.     After three years of playing it for the first time, this game is still one of my favorite PS4 games, is incredibly fun and the graphics are very good. The only two things why i didn't rate it with a 10 is because the story is not as great as the first two inFAMOUS, and there's not much difference with being good or bad in the game.

    Una vez pasado la segunda vez pierde mucho la gracia, por lo limitado que son las variaciones a la historia segun las desiciones, una vez las hayas elejido todas (siempre te dan 2 a elegir,bien o mal ) lo as visto todo, no hay puntos medios ni scenas extras al combinar diferentes respuestas a lo largo de la partida, solo 2 caminos el BIEN o el MAL, pudo ser mejor en esto.

    La variedad de enemigos se hace poca.

    Pueden llegar a ser excesivamente repetitivas TODAS las misiones secundarias para debilitar al D.U.P.
    al final de todo hay una ciclica que es bastante molesta.

    A pesar de ser rapido, el juego no mantiene 60 fps constantes, menciono esto porque el juego incluye la opcion de desbloequar la tasa de 30 y dejarla libre, Puede ser molesto porque varia constantemente, generalmente el juego corre como a 45 inclusive hay un par de scenas en que aun estando bloqueado a 30 el juego decae por debajo de las 20 imagenes por segundo y mas,cuando hay algun jefe, muchos enemigos o una scena de la historia en especial. Es muy inconsistente esta parte del apartado tecnico.

In all actuality, what this game actually lacks is the depth in the world, as the only thing that's left to do is running around in the city killing or helping people after the main storyline has been finished. Enemy AI is not too simplistic and is done quite well. The graphics are top-notch and never decrease in quality. All the powers when executed look amazing. I guess that's the aesthetic of the whole game; it has that refined and gorgeous appeal to it, being simple yet detailed and well presented. Overall, for what this game has to offer it's absolutely enjoyable and worth the money.… Expand

    Having superpowers in a "normal" world has never been so much fun. But about halfway through the game my interest has waned slightly. The story is not inspired enough to make this an outstanding game.

    Infamous second son is more of a story driven game, with ok narrative, having played other games within this genre I personally think this is the worst out of a small bunch. One of the problems is the fact that you can't utilize more than 1 set of powers, which is very poor. However the main concept and graphics are great

    Infamous was a better experience to me than Horizon Zero Dawn and Uncharted 4 (this game is a little bit boring).
    It's fun to play, have nice skills upgrades and isn't boring to pick up the collectables.

    But for me the city is to boring and nothing to do.

    A good game that can get very repetitive. Doesn't take long to do a full play through, it will capture your attention for a few days until the repetitiveness becomes too much. Not much replay value but still worth a play through if you have a PS4.

    The Good: First let me just get this out of the way, this game is BEAUTIFUL, from the stunning weather effects to the top notch facial animations, everything about this game screams next gen. The actual gameplay makes you feel like a comic book hero, you will be running on walls, throwing bombs of smoke, and flying across the landscape. I really loved most of the characters, and also the amazing soundtrack.

    The Bad: As much as I love Troy Baker's performance in this game, I just couldn't like Delsin Rowe, the new protagonist. He seemed annoying and I cringed when he made jokes. The choices are definitely a step down as only the hero story fits the character, being evil feels like some cheap gimmick in an alternate universe, and the AWEFUL ending definitely made all of it worse. The city of Seattle also feels empty and the citizens seem like mindless drones that do nothing but run away when you use your powers. I can say Cole's story was definitely more interesting.

    Verdict: Infamous Second Son is a decent game with great graphics and a fun world to mess around in. But the lackluster story and empty world sadly bring this game down. Infamous Second Son is well deserved 7 out of 10 :)    … Expand

Yet, it is worth wondering how much more interesting Second Son could have been if the developer had taken more creative risks. Beyond some stellar acting and visual niceties, there isn’t much toSuper heroes naturally lend themselves to video games, with their extraordinary plights and powers. This is likely why Infamous: Second Son succeeds at being a fundamentally enjoyable experience. Yet, it is worth wondering how much more interesting Second Son could have been if the developer had taken more creative risks. Beyond some stellar acting and visual niceties, there isn’t much to appreciate. The formula is heavily iterated upon, but still feels middling when compared to competing products.

    A core issue is the loosely structured and insubstantial narrative. Second Son is engaging in moment-to-moment plot events, but lacks overall cohesion. The story could be drastically reordered or slimmed down without consequence. If not for outstanding performances by Troy Baker (Delson), Travis Willingham (Reggie) and Christine Dunford (Augustine), Second Son would be a literal collection of self-contained circumstances without an anchor. Even the moral alignment system (which is typically a highlight of the franchise) is plagued by these issues. None of the ethical decisions players make follow a linear progression, resulting in a forced and undeveloped selection of endings. This is particularly upsetting because previous Infamous titles have significantly offset their own problems with memorable finales.

    Some of these recurring gaffes carry over into Second Son, most notably the repetitive gameplay. Despite featuring polished traversal mechanics and an enormous play space, there is alarmingly little to do. Opportunities to fight enemies or perform heroic deeds appear constantly, but can usually be resolved in seconds. The sole alternative to this mindless scavenger hunt is a sparse quantity of story missions. While these missions are cleverly constructed and take full advantage of Second Son’s foundational strengths, their inherent creativity emphasize the unhealthy ratio of necessary to unnecessary content. It raises the question of whether or not Second Son was unduly rushed to arrive within the Playstation 4 launch window.

    Though if the game was rushed, plenty of resources were still allocated to refining the visuals.The graphical composition of Second Son is easily its most consistent and carefully crafted element. Artistically, it leverages the serene lighting and color palette of the Pacific Northwest to generate a wonderfully unique atmosphere. Combined with impeccable motion captured animations and sharp textures, Second Son is dazzling in motion. Its lone visual caveat is somewhat unstable performance. Even on the beefier Playstation 4 Pro hardware, Second Son cannot run at a locked framerate. Dropped frames mostly result in inconsequential stuttering, but also occasionally slow intense action to a crawl. Had these densely packed areas been further optimized, Second Son would be a definitive technological showcase for the Playstation 4.

    Additional development time could have made Second Son an overall consummate title for the console. Producing more diverse mechanics for the gameplay loop would have substantially benefitted the entertainment factor of Second Son, and allowing the writers more leeway to sculpt a traditional narrative would have mitigated how arbitrary the game feels. Another marked improvement would have been for the engine programmers to establish a 60 frames per second lock, given the focus on precise world navigation and combat. Otherwise, what remains is an arguably standard superhero escapade.    … Expand

    It definitely isn’t one of those games you talk about years after its release, but it showcases PS4’s capabilities well and in contrast to Killzone: Shadow Fall also does something else – guarantees fun from the beginning till the end. [CD-Action 05/2014, p.58]
