    Uninteresting characters especially Aloy. Osef and bad story. Boring gameplay after only several hours. Bad combat system (no feeling and always the same thing: rolling arrow r1 r2 no combo). Pretty ? but so what?

    You know this one just wasn't for me. I didn't fall in love with the story or characters it all. Fantastic open world and the combat is super smooth, but it just wasn't for me.

    This is an interest case, being that there are elements of this game I love to death and ones I would like to throw into a pit of fire never to be seen again. This is by no means a bad game, just very confused as to what it would like to be.

    Story - In Horizon you play Alloy young girl thrust into a world giant mechanical creature and primitive tribal people who simply seek to survive.    This is an interest case, being that there are elements of this game I love to death and ones I would like to throw into a pit of fire never to be seen again. This is by no means a bad game, just very confused as to what it would like to be.

    Story - In Horizon you play Alloy young girl thrust into a world giant mechanical creature and primitive tribal people who simply seek to survive. Although concept wise this story and world have a lot going for it Horizon's problem is how lost it becomes in itself. The story, for the most part, feels like something that could be part of a one shot Netflix series that never gets a second season, while the premise and concept of the world are simply amazing. Without getting into any spoilers, the story can basically be boiled down to human nature is pretty **** up/AI's are dangerous. While these ideas on there own aren't horrible jumping off points to build a story off of, Horizons story feels like it was tacked onto the game half way through development when they finally realized Robot dinosaur hunting sim was not going to sell on its own. While its still serviceable, this is a story which doesn't much feel like it has a place in the game it was written for or rather it was jammed in at the last minute due to the behest of a publisher.

    Gameplay - On the other hand, the core gameplay of Horizon is incredibly solid. Being a mix between stealth action, open world, and beat 'em up Horizon falls perfect in the middle of all of these taking the elements of more recognized games and and putting a new spin of them. Towers from Assassins Creed are now walking jump quests to unlock areas of the map, Hacking enemies not only gives you an ally in combat, but also a ride across Horizons Massive world! On top of this the combat is a pure joy to engage in and highly rewarding when you learn how to use exploit mechanics like points and elemental damage. However this feeling of joy all too soon drains away after you take down you enemies and you remember that Horizon is an RPG and you must do RPG things now to progress the story. These moments of hinderance serve only to break up what is arguably the best part of the game which is the gameplay in and of itself. However in the grander scheme of things the gameplay is too sparse to really get to enjoy before you finish it.

    All in all Horizon is a great game for people who don't normally play videogames. Coming at it with low expectation saves you from enduring its more inconsistent parts while also providing you with enough cover to explain why that Netflix series you been trying to get your friend to watch is actually really good and not overrate like some people say. I'm not projecting you are!

    You should play this game. The first 4 hours are boring, but besides that it be omes one of my favorite games I have played on playstation. Definitely play it.

    for me personally this was the most interesting way i have ever experienced a post-apocalyptic world story. especially the way you learn how the apocalypse came to happen.
    also big plus for there being a story mode so that even gamers with mediocre skills like me are able to finish this beautiful looking game and experience the story.

    I don't know many games that deserve a 10/10, but this is one of them for sure. The gameplay is fun and unique, the worldbuilding is outstanding and the game delivers one of them most satisfying stories ever told in video game history. Aloy is an amazing main character with great depth. More games like this one need to be made. A masterpiece.

But something truly seems "off" about the people in the world, and the world even seems "empty", which makes sense as it is a "post apocalyptic" machine ruled world.     Horizon Zero Dawn is and open-world, story-driven adventure that I sunk 60 hours into. Worth all the praise I can give it. The game is cheap as dirt, easy to find, and visually stunning wherever you play it.

    Great Buy! I liked how they handled the story in the beginning, the combat is fairly good (melee is trash), the game is fluid and fairly polished. I encountered no issues which is commendable!

    The game is good, I played again before the release of Horizon Forbidden West. Graphics 10/10, main character 10/10, locations 9/10, story 7/10 in general. Some episodes of the story deserve 10/10.

    Just incredible. The world, the cultures, the discovery of the story, *chef's kiss*

    Also, the machines are so freaking cool - I have played this game through 3 times and I cannot get enough of it!

    Es un juego con historia que trata de ser sentimental pero simplemente no lo logra, los movimientos de cuerpo a cuerpo son poco pulidos y el combate a distancia deja mucho que desear, este es el juego mas genérico que ha sacado Sony, las cinematicas están bien pero las interacciones con los personajes se ven muy acartonadas. lo unico bueno que tiene el juego son los gráficos

Everything from the setting, environment, story the fantastic voice acting and player mechanics is just so good!     Comprei o meu ps4 em 2017 por causa desse jogo.
    Sem dúvida, um dos melhores jogos que já joguei. A estória é sensacional e original, a trilha sonora muito boa e os gráficos são muito bonitos.
    A jogabilidade no combate corpo a corpo deixou a desejar, mas nada que atrapalhe o quão incrível o jogo é.

For what it is, it's a decent game with a good scifi lore out of the conventional, sadly the story is just bad with tribes that nobody cares.

    Jugué este juego debido a que venia gratis con mi ps4, decidí darle una oportunidad no muy convencida de si la temática de este me gustaría o no, al final terminó siendo uno de los mejores juegos que he jugado, la historia es totalmente atrapante y te dan ganas de seguir descubriendo mas y mas cosas sobre todo lo que pasó.     Sem dúvidas meu game favorito dessa geração. Entrega imersão, entretenimento e muita reflexão sobre a sociedade. Gráficos excelentes, mesmo nós depois do lançamento, o jogo não envelheceu. Único apontamento é a fisionomia dos rostos dos NPC's.... Mas nada problemático... Alloy é a personagem mais completa, ao MEU ver! Parabéns Guerrilla

    Ótimo jogo, história envolvendo, personagens marcantes (principalmente a aloy). O combate é viciante, excelentes lutas contra máquinas dos mais diversos tipos, missões principais e secundárias que te deixam com vontade de querer mais. Gostei bastante da DLC também.

    The story was very intriguing, especially the Frozen Wilds. But the dullness of the environment and emotionless Aloy left this game feel like such chore to even listen to the characters talk.

    Une belle prouesse technique mais le jeu dans sa globalité ne fait avancer le jeu vidéo dans aucun domaine, et même l'écriture et la narration qui ont apparemment occupé le plus gros temps des développeurs restent rn dessous de se qui se fait le mieux. Je n'ai pas réussi à aller au bout de l'aventure tellement je me suis ennuyé.

    This game is great, from the combat, story, and especially the enemies you fight. But, I would have liked the side quests to be more unique instead of being repetitive and I would have like melee combat to be more relevant as it was useless throughout the entire game.

    Terrible open world game, the meele combat is also horrible, although the bow/range combat is pretty good. The machines are cool too. But in general the game is massively boring, and i had a terrible bug that i had to reload my save and lost hours of game...

    Great story. Fantastic graphics. Enjoyable gameplay. It really is a complete, big and beautiful game. It has many eye-catching environments. It can keep us entertained for hours. The only problem with the game is that the dialogues are boring. Overall it is a unique experience.

    This was the first game I ever felt truly addicted to when I played it for the first time. It was exciting, new, and the graphics and UI still stand up as being so brilliant. It kicked off a whole new generation of greatness for Playstation, truly.     This is my favorite game of all time the first game i bought It has the best graphics of any game I know about or play, story is very good and much better than I anticipated, machine are innovative(sometimes basic machines like watcher are fun to kill when one-shot-ted in the eye) and collectibles are personally liked by me. It has some problem though like climbing isn't fluid.

    Muy bueno en todos sus apartados, gráficamente espectacular para tratarse de un juego de 2017 (lo he jugado ahora en 2022) y un Gameplay muy divertido. Una buena historia y una dificultad muy ajustada redondean un juego excelente.

    I'm gonna be honest here, this game didn't grab me first time round, mainly because I got it from a ps4 bundle. Dropped the game for a few months, then came back to have my mind blown. One of my all time favorites. Must play just for the gameplay and intruige.

    One of my favorite games in the past years. The unique setting, the way the plot unfolds and the great combat are some of the best that gaming has to offer. The only minor flaws are weak characterization for side characters and not so great world-building.

    First open world game I played after many many years without a console, and it blew my mind. Loved the story, and really cared about the characters. The world is also really cool and epic.

    I couldn’t get enough of it. Horizon and Witcher 3 are the only open world games I feel I really completed.

    Finally dredged this out of my backlog, and glad I did. Well-crafted world, excellent enemies, good story. The combat got repetitive enough after about 10 hours that I sped through the rest of the game just to complete the story. Hopefully Forbidden West improves upon what it built here, especially with more combat options, melee especially.

    Normally post-apocalyptic games do not resonate well with me, but Horizon handles the journey in such a beautiful way you're often filled with a feeling of curiosity and hope above all else. A vibrant world filled with strange machines, a curious mystery of how it all came to be, and a lovable main character alongside you to experience the journey. The gameplay is equally addictive as youNormally post-apocalyptic games do not resonate well with me, but Horizon handles the journey in such a beautiful way you're often filled with a feeling of curiosity and hope above all else. A vibrant world filled with strange machines, a curious mystery of how it all came to be, and a lovable main character alongside you to experience the journey. The gameplay is equally addictive as you hunt giant machines in a more fun and complex way than Monster Hunter or other similar titles, strategizing and equipping yourself as you see fit to take on these monstrosities and feeling really good as you take them down. This game rewards nearly every action you make from hunting, gathering, and doing the side quests that reward you with both good rewards and story value content. With such a fantastic formula and gameplay loop you can spend as much or as little time as you want playing, and it always feels good no matter which you choose.
    A lot of love went into this game and it really shows at every twist and turn. It's clear the developers wanted their players to enjoy playing it as much as they loved making it, and it nearly hits the mark of perfection as a result. I am glad I played it right before the release of the sequel due to the semi-cliffhanger ending, and I find myself legitimately excited to play the sequel in only a couple of weeks. If you haven't played this game yet do not let it slip your mind as this is a game any Playstation 4 or 5 owner should definitely experience. Aloy has earned her spot as one of Playstation's mascots, because if any game should define a beautiful game that only Playstation Studios can make, it's Horizon Zero Dawn.    … Expand

It makes me very stressful that I need to take it down to Easy difficulty to be able to progress smoothly. Well it will be easy if you have the right weapon for each machine but its like the game offer you all the machines after leaving the Nora land where you don't have all weapons to deal with some machines which will make the experience s4cks.

    Platforming is good, Aloy has some cool movement sort of like parkour thing when climbing or vault over.

    Side Quest is the reason I cannot give this game a great score. Its lengthy like it can take at least 10 minutes (IF) you fully focused to finish the side quest. Its like the side quest consist of several sub side quests that makes you keep wondering around trying to finish the quest. This is the reason that I stop playing the game for a while because its become way too boring.

    Exploration is bad. You don't know where to climb or to go to certain destination due to a tall wall or debris in your way. Sometimes its the reason that makes me wondering around for almost 1 hour trying to find a way to reach to my waypoint. Besides that, Its a rich open world full of machines, wild animals, etc. But, there's very few theme for the area which makes me feel the world kind of bland.

    Overall its a great open world game but with some major issues like difficulty spike which way too soon for me, exploration, side quests that make it too boring and tedious and resource management is kind of frustrating as well.    … Expand

Strategies for different enemies kept it interesting. Similar varied combat strategies to a Witcher 3. Although I love Witcher 3, I would say Horizon Zero Dawn has better controls! No need to adjust sensitivity or button layout. Menu and quick controls make it easy to adjust during combat. The menu and controls is where this game shines! Although I have not played the additional DLC and have already completed the game, I am going back to play it through again from the beginning to check it out and also get prepared for the new Horizon forbidden west. I have seen other reviews that say this game does nothing new and although I somewhat agree, it takes what works in some of the great games we all loved and slaps them into a new beautiful world with robot dinosaurs and an interesting story with great controls! Is that bad? Let’s face it, all games use targeting from Zelda that came out back with the N64! If it works, and it feels right… then it is good! If u like big open world games, great graphics, straightforward crafting, great controls and 30plus hours of gameplay than pick it up! I did and it has been an exclusive that keeps me owning a PlayStation! There are certain Must have Exclusive PlayStation games, Horizon Zero Dawn should be in there with Last of Us, and Uncharted

    The unfortunate fact of Horizon is that most of what it does well, other games have done better, and they did it with a compelling who and where. This is the game you play after you’ve finished The Witcher 3, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, and Far Cry: Primal. It is the greatest hits compilation of open-world games. Yeah, sure, you might want to own it, but the real connoisseur has the original albums.

    Horizon Zero Dawn has an unforgettable protagonist, world, story, visuals, soundtrack and gameplay. Due to minor issues with inventory management and quest selection, I cannot call it perfect but I can say it is absolutely worth your time.
