    You would seriously have to wonder has anyone in the EA development team watched a game of football before? A truly horrific experience. You only need to play against the AI to see the game has many exploits and broken mechanics. Defending is non existent and if anyone at EA reads this, not every foul is a yellow card. Playing games on legendary difficulty will just result in a game where the AI will abuse impossible dribbling techniques and pass the ball around the back for the whole game. Let's not even mention the shielding technique which makes it impossible to get to the ball. Honestly EA, just have done untold damage to your reputation these last few years and it won't ever come back. The worst game I have ever played, a player rating of 0.8 is too generous… Expand

    I've never been a fifa fan but I enjoyed playing fifa 19 and 20. Unfortunatelly fifa 21 is much worse than older versions. A plenty of bugs, poor mechanic, terrible goalkeepers, overpowered shots. Those who said the game is the same as previous fifa are wrong. This one is much much worse!!     Same ol bad Fifa. No effort from EA to improve. Still bad passing, pin ball football with random shooting, slow animations and AI is still on all time low. The graphics do NOT save it for me.If you hate the 19 and 20 version , skip this one - it is pretty much the same bad game.

    The game is totally awful ! Everywhere full of bug ! Goalkeeper can’t take a simple ball ! Defenders are just potatoes ! Some top players are extraordinary uncontrollable ! Stadiums are the same ! Fans are the same ! Celebrations are sucks ! I recommend not to waste you money on this !

    I bought this game 2 days ago and I already regret the purchase. EA what on earth are you doing?     14 was    I bought this game 2 days ago and I already regret the purchase. EA what on earth are you doing?     14 was essentially the same but players couldn't turn quick enough and headers were somewhat OP, so i kept playing 13, 15 was okay too but this was where it started that the game wouldn't let me play how I wanted, it was like I was actively playing against the game itself. Didn't play 16 & 17, 18 was okay but nowhere near as good as 13-15, but i still enjoyed 18 quite a bit, 19 was horrible (time finesse nonsense), skipped 20, and now we have 21.

    But this 21, EA what is this, is this even football? This is not football!! as much as i hated 19, it was still football, i could attack, defend, players could actually turn and move and etc... But this 21, what is even happening in this game?

    Defenders just stand there and let attackers pass them.
    Standing tackles don't work (tactical defending has been ruined).
    Defenders are so slow I just don't understand.
    Players (especially defenders) turn too slowly.
    Player switching is erratic, the right stick switching is more reliable.
    Attacking AI runs are better, but i think this is just because the defense is horrible.
    A lot of times when you successfully tackle, you get stuck to the opponent and he still gets the ball back.
    When I get tackled, my player refuses to recover for a good second, they get stuck in this weird passive animation, i just don't understand.
    A lot of times, players just dont react to loose balls as if they're not concerned.
    Passes a lot of times go to the wrong person, like i was aiming at the other guy, what's happening?
    Interceptions are just weird and inconsistent.
    Feints are ultra OP.

    EA has even managed to automate everything, the game basically plays itself.
    In the controls we have;
    Auto shoot
    Auto block
    Auto dribble

    What's left for me to do if i enable all these? And one cant disable the auto block because all your opponents are using it, if you disable it you'll never win anything.

    Also we have keeper assisted saves, mine is on semi and I the difference is glaring when playing against others, there keepers are just saving everything, now i have to put mine on assisted too.

    Even when i play bad passes the game autocorrects the trajectory and makes it a good pass by force. What's all this?

    Now playing against others is just a horrible experience, i can tell these guys are bad players and I still lose anyways, now why is this?

    1. All they do is run with fast players and do feints, now my defense just cant handle feints for some reason.
    2. Stats are everything in this game, I play online seasons with atletico madrid and everyone else uses Real Madrid, Barca, Liverpool, PSG or Bayern, that's it almost always these teams. It's so hard playing against these big clubs because the difference in stats is just too much. Eventually i switched to Man City, played against a guy using Athletico, and after 2-0 by 10 minutes he quit the game, I had to message him to not bother using atletico.
    3. Most use constant pressure and well they just wont lemme breathe throughout the match. Sometimes I can swear people are using legacy defending.

    EA, your game does not work, why can't we just have a good game at launch, why? All these mechanics worked when i played FIFA 13, i never complained about passing, defending or player switching, how is it that you're just making the game worse every year, how?

    At this point I'll just settle for a FIFA 13 remaster or something.

    El peor fifa de la historia. Todos Los n jugadores pisan la pelota como si fueran Neymar. Los arqueros son los peores, se quedan parados, prácticamente un mano a mano es gol, sacarlos para achicar es un suicidio. La defensa totalmente descompensada y desbalanceada con respecto al ataque.     The ONLY GOOD thing is THE LICENSES, which would be too good for PES; FIFA is a game created reluctantly that you reach the goal with just 3 passes, completely boring, meaningless to the most loved sport in the world. NOTHING RECOMMENDED.

    Without a doubt, the worst fifa I have ever played and I have played fifa since 1994. I did not think they could make the game any worse than fifa 20 but they proved me wrong. It is so scripted and pay 2 win to the point, they don't even try to hide it anymore. Save your £60 and don't buy this crappy game

    The game sucks!!! I play fifa since 2006/2007 every year I expect the new gameplay and new techniques but this year the game is disgusting !! Liverpool is the team you cant defeat ! You can score goals from hilarious places! There are some players with insane abilities I give it 2 from 10 Fifa 20 was 10 from 10 for me it was great game and lovely to play for an hours

    This game is just not fun. The passing is off, pace is the only thing that matters and the goalies are useless. I play an online game with 14 ping and I feel like my players are running through quicksand. I can't tell you the last time I got scored on by a player that had 90+ pace and 70 finishing. my 87 rated keeper doesn't even try to make saves. I just wasted $60.

    When you run the legs of the players pass through each other. The animations are totally buggy when you shoot, we can see the pulling leg pass through the other leg but also through the ball .....

    Pace is still the only useful tactic, AI don't act like footballers (once the ball passes them they are essentially out of the game) and pass assist seems even worse than ever. And of course "micro-transactions" (gambling for kids) is back

    La misma basura de siempre. Juego sin terminar y lleno de errores, con una jugabilidad obligatoria si quieres poder competir en la cual es mas efectivo hacer regates am aire que tratar de descomponer la defensa con buen movimiento de balon. Considero que este juego no se parece en nada al futbol. En el FUT existe un meta muy cerrado si quieres poder competi, en el cual si te sales de losLa misma basura de siempre. Juego sin terminar y lleno de errores, con una jugabilidad obligatoria si quieres poder competir en la cual es mas efectivo hacer regates am aire que tratar de descomponer la defensa con buen movimiento de balon. Considero que este juego no se parece en nada al futbol. En el FUT existe un meta muy cerrado si quieres poder competi, en el cual si te sales de los jugadores met, por muy bueno que sea realmente en atributos y en el futbol real ese jugador, no vas a poder hacer nada. Ejemplo de esto el caso de lo frustrante que llega a ser enfrentar a diego carlos o joe gomez, jugadores de 83 de media, y lo facil que mis rivales corriendo recto se vuelven inparables con jugadores tales como chiellini o koulibaly, con 88 y 87 de media. Ademas cabe resaltar los voraces micropagos, lo cual hace que los jugadores mas fuertes del meta, independientemente de su media, esten a unos precios prohibitivos para jugadores que nos negamos a los micropagos que afectan al juego como es el caso. Y pasando a hablar de los defectos en jugabilidad, defensas inutiles dependientes por completo de jugar repliegue y auto block de los tiros, puesto que los porteros no paran ni un taxi. El pase suda por completo, es decir, es mas eficiente un mediocampo basado en velocidad con de jong, marcos llorente y valverde, que uno basado en lo que realmente importaria, media, pase y equilibrio defensivo. Como ejemplo a esto, llorente roba el doble de balones que casemiro, simplemente por el hecho de correr mas. Ademas añadir lo frustrante que llega a ser el hecho de que independientemente del atributo pase de tu jugador, el balon ira a donde le salga de las pilotas a EA. Este juego llega a ser una experiencia frustrante, aburrida y repetitiva, que incrementa mas con la toxicidad de una comunidad que solo piensa en ganar aunque tenga que vender a su abuela para lograrlo.
    Fuera de eso, en otros modos de juego no han cambiado nada de nada, clubes pro con una jugabilidad lamentable, como el año anterior, modo carrera acaba siendo aburrido y repetitivo por no hablar del "magnifico" ( notese el sarcasmo ) volta. Llevo jugando fifa desde el 2005, y es imparable la decadencia de la saga, que cada vez piensa mas en un modo sin futuro como estan haciendolo y es FUT y sinceramente pienso que este año el juego vive de los micropagos de algunos que prefieren meterle 1000 euros al mes al juego, que dejar el juego morir y que EA se de cuebta que asi no puede seguir. Para el año no comprare FIFA ni sin querer, ya normalmente no llego a jugar mas de 3 meses pero este me canso en 2 semanas. Gran acierto de PES el no vender como nuevo lo mismo sino una actu.
    EA deberia abrir los ojos de una vez y darse cuenta que si sigue teniendo jugadores es porque por ahora no hay real competencia, pero a este ritmo alguien lo aprovechara y matar la saga.
    Y me gustaría añadir para los que dicen que si te quejas de la defensa aprende a defender, que puede decir que defiendo bastante bien, y que si me maracan porque dembele es 8 veces mas fuertw que chiellini o koulibaly pues no es mi culpa. Y tñpara los listos que hablan de si te quejas de clmo es el juego es porque no has tocado un balón en tu vida, he jugado al futbol, lo veo aub a dia de hoy y sebque si yo tengo que defender aun tio dandome vueltas delante como una peonza, le parto la pierna y se acabo, no me mete gol ni giro a su alrededor como un tontopolla.    … Expand

In defence the AI allows defenders to stand well and truly out of position. To have centrebacks jogging back from halfway while an opposing winger is streaking down the sideline is atrocious AI. The really fast players, particularly mane, are so fast the look surreal in the way they run. It seems to be impossible to tell if your ayer is going to give a first time pass or take a touch. The games seems to decide if if it wants you to be tackled and takes that extra touch. There is zero skill to scoring from shots. You either get in position for that diagonal shot or you have your shot blocked. If there is a defender anywhere near by your player will take forever to wind up a shot. I'm really hoping they can fix this pile of **** with some updates..… Expand

    The main reason of my 3 times burned butt is the ea logic: for example you have mainstream game mode fut, so you have to do every single part of it that gamers want to play it more and more. But what we have here? They merged weekend champions league with division rivals games. So we have to choose what to do play 30 games of dr and 30 games of wl in 3 days because it is the only option to take all benefits from these mods or choose between these modes which one will use 30 point profit games.     Special cards - is like buff to any current card but it is not an option for defenders, a little bit less for midfielders and in priority for strikers. Why? Because of ea logic again? I've seen people say on here its the same as fifa 20, as far as pro clubs goes thats not the case. Clubs on fifa 21 is only playable if all you do is have a tall striker and wingers who endlessly cross the ball into the box. The ai players who are higher rated are completely useless and theI only play pro clubs mode on fifa as I have done for years, so my review is based solely on that. I can not force myself to play this game anymore. I find no redeeming factors in this game. And did I mention they imported some bugs fromFifa 21 and Fifa 20 are essentially the same game. Defence doesnt exist, every game is goal festival with results 8:6 etc...Volta is pointless, Carrer mode has some new additions but its boring, FUT is there just to make EA money. Basically its pointless to have player with high passing, driblling, stamina etc, only important is PACE. PACE PACE PACE, this game is a joke.

Premier League POTM players for 50k on an SBC is progress. It is no secret this game needs to ditch the packs and the pay-to-win element but I cannot see that happening until EA is forced to do so. Therefore we must embrace little wins. I truly believe PES 2021 Season Update is a better alternative for those who purely want a career mode experience. The games feel more hard-fought, realistic and the whole experience is more rewarding. Konami need to develop their own rival to Pro Clubs and then we may see people shift as Pro Clubs is very neglected and could be the shining light of the FIFA experience. EA will not change until they are forced by government to remove gambling or forced by a fanbase that leaves to pursue a better experience.

    On a plus note, for those that enjoy Ultimate Team - for the time being the changes seem positive. It remains to be seen if they stay that way but I am enjoying the experience currently.    … Expand

    Every year they have issues with the game and every year they don't fix it, just lost a game 6 5 with two of his goals being scored because, while i was tackling him, the game decided to switch my player and let him score AND THEN Emilio Butragueno who is somewhere about 1.75 scores a header over my Alisson (1.91) who was also jumping and using his hands. Skill gap actually isn't exist at all. Before you play fifa 21, you should forget everything you know about soccer and soccer video games. There is no defense or goalkeeper in fifa 21. Scores such 8 x 8 are common.     The worst FIFA ever!! Bad gameplay...100% scripted!!! Crap game from a crap company!! Thnx EA for letting us DOWN once more...you probably won’t care but for me the last FIFA i’ll ever buy!!!!!!!

    Somehow, EA has made the gameplay much worse. Defense is useless and positioning/technique doesn't matter. Goaltending is even worse and goalies will not make simple stops. Offsides and foul calls are clearly missed in every single game.     Shocking game. Tackle the player, bounces back to opposition and repeats until they score. So many other problems. Servers slow and broken. 1.5billion made on ultimate team and can only win if you buy points. Will be buying PES only next year.

    Game for fans who either need to work online at FUT every day, or instead want to try a modified career mode, which is starting to really look like Football Manager. Otherwise, it's a decent update for the full price. [Issue#307]

    The FIFA series desperately needs a fresh start. Right now, it relies mainly on the Ultimate Team mode and marketing, while going around in circles. Instead of leaping into the future, FIFA 21 takes half a step forward and two steps sideways in an attempt to differentiate itself from its predecessor well enough to rationalize spending money. If you already own FIFA 20 and are not addicted to Ultimate Team, you can sit this one out. [12/2020, p.44]
