    FIFA 21 is great. The small refinements make the biggest impressions this year, and I’m excited to see how the next-gen versions pan out. It’s finally good to be a Career Mode player again, and I just hope that over the coming years we see a bigger focus on Volta and less on pushing players into paying for FUT coins.

    The online games feel fresh. But the gameplay changes are only in the details, since years the FIFA series is based on the same formulas. FIFA 21 clearly lacks innovation.

    While FIFA 21 plays a lot smoother than its predecessor and offers even more content for the fans of career and VOLTA mode, it once again feels like an evolution not a revolution. EA Sports really need to breathe new life into their football simulation. But maybe that will only happen, as soon as the franchise arrives on next gen consoles.

    Without losing all of its qualities, FIFA is once again struggling to correct its gameplay flaws and will have to wait at least for a substantial update, or more likely a new opus to hope to convince us on this point.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The spoiler is that you’ll be playing the same game. I installed this beginning of the month with EA Play and uninstalled it before even using my 10 hours. It’s the same game as always, defending is up to crap again, fast players just push through, slow defenders will just cause fouls. Player switching sucks so I always use manual which seems to be a bit clunky and slow - all round just a frustrating experience once again. Look at PES, at least they tell you that 2021 is an update to the previous year and comes at a reduced price...*cough cough EA*. 1 star simply because they went through the effort to rebrand the game by updating everything that said 20, to 21.… Expand

Referees' decisions are just ridiculously awful; the game never feels like it's on your control, defending is nearly impossible, crosses are overpowered. It is god awful , never in my life have I seen a football match where every time someone touches the ball the do skills and drags from no reason what so ever. I thought to myself that maybe it just the big teams as I was playing with Liverpool and city. I started with port vale vs barrow and it was just the same, everyone doing pointless skills. This is by far the worst fifa I have ever played !!!!! I plays like the the new wwe battlegrounds game but football. In short this game is for people who know nothing about how football should be played and is aimed at kids who like to dribbles round a pitch on their own. Stay away and let’s hope EA shoot the developers!!!!… Expand
