    Bad gameplay favours people who just sit back and hit on counter if you play a high press contain game with skills like previous fifas you're just asking to get clapped on the counter attack by a mediocre player who can't pass can't do anything bar field 10 men in their box Ai blocking is ridiculous needs to be more manual cbs literally don't need to be used half of the time ai does all the work

    Played fifa 20 and have been playing fifa 21 for 2 months and have to say that i would have more fun going to the casino and playing slots and betting my life away because that is just like playing fifa these days, ea have made one of the worst games known to consumers, just for their greedy company , if i could i would give this game a minus 10

    Por fin cambió la jugabilidad en el Volta, después del añadido del año pasado, que era como jugar a fútbol 11 pero con 5 jugadores, este año cambió la jugabilidad, ahora se nota más dinámico que en otros modos, sobre todo el tiro a trallón, muy chulos esos detallitos añadidos.
    Otra cosa positiva, el añadido del modo carrera, aunque podrían haberlo pulido algo más, espero que sea de transición y que para el año lo vuelvan a mejorar, porque varios años así, se va a hacer pésimo, falta mucho detalle importante, pero bueno, se agradecen los añadidos, aunque es lo mínimo.
    Me parece asqueroso que no puedas tener tu propio estilo de juego jugando online, hay que hacer la dinámica que funciona, y si no, estás perdido, eso me aborrece, de verdad.
    El juego está demasiado lleno de bugs, pero mucho, fatal fatal hecho, con el añadido de mecánicas rotas por todos lados, lo dicho, lo que funciona es lo que funciona, y si no sabes, o no quieres hacerlo porque tienes otro estilo, estás fuera.
    También, me parece absurdo las cartas en Ultimate Team, no tiene sentido, se lo cargaron muy pronto, jodido de disfrutar si no tienes el juego directamente desde el principio, aburrido, un modo pésimo a mi manera de ver, o estás 24/7 metido en él, o no tienes oportunidad, y eso, no mola.
    No quiero añadir que hasta los trofeos estuvieron bugueados durante un buen tiempo, de verdad, un juego muerto para mí.    … Expand

    The worst FIFA I have ever played in my life. Ultimate team is not too bad if you want to play squad battles and constantly smack your opponents 5-0 every game over and over again. However, career mode is a different story, one minute you’re winning too easily on legendary 6-0 then the opponents score 6 goals in 10 minutes because goalkeepers can’t save shots which are millimeters next toThe worst FIFA I have ever played in my life. Think again! The penalty taker places the ball on the exact right spot to hit the post and fire into the back of the net and cause you to be now drawing a game which should realistically be won. You’re honestly better off simulating each game or even better, find a game which properly replicates a real life football game and not a 13 goal thriller between Liverpool and Sheffield Utd where the score line ends with you only just beating your opponent 7-6 in the last few seconds. FIFA 21 is by far the most unrealistic, lazy, tragic and scripted FIFA that has ever been made. EA only care about money which is as obvious as a blonde’s fake tan.… Expand

    I won the first game vs my brother, then the second game he miraculously scores 5 goals by Jota and my defender jus running with him, its like he is part of the opposing team , overall this game is just a **** with their scripting and handicapped gameplay.

    I bought this used, for 10 euros, and I'm going to sell it on again after only +-10 hours of playing, because:

    I bought this used, for 10 euros, and I'm going to sell it on again after only +-10 hours of playing, because:
    - Keepers are still completely clueless, parrying shots central, diving with their head towards the goal instead of reaching to make a save, sometimes even just coming out just to do nothing and give the opponent a free goal...
    - The game changes my formation mid-game to the 'default' team formation, this happens in roughly 2 out of 3 season games I play.
    - Players make the most unnatural movements, there's still a lot of 50/50 tackles and defenders still lock onto the ball instead of it's trajectory when a long ball is played in.
    - Game still seems to fail to recognize tackles & draw cards accordingly
    - Scripting / Dynamic difficulty, or simply bugged gamestate if you don't like the previous 2 words, is still very much a thing,
    - Do I even have to mention the cover art?

    They cut down budget on almost everything, except for FUT features, because that's where the money is. All other features get neglected, including gameplay.

    These are only a handful of things that I came across during a few hours of playing, while only testing seasons. To the people that say the career mode's been improved, has it really though? Remember FIFA 20's simply wasn't playable, so the bar isn't set very high.

    As a developer myself, it blows my mind, how a game that is a live product continues to release in a broken state and have the company get away with it, year after year.
    If it was a one-hit release game, I'd give it a 6 maybe, but since it's a continuous game service, this state is simply inexcusable and shouldn't be accepted by it's consumer base.    … Expand

    Most buggy football game ever. Very little improvemenets in career mode, but i must admit that i liked all 2 new changes, for example simulation and possibility to change position of a player). Cooperation seasons are so buggy that we cant play (why there is no option 2 vs 2???). Really very disapointment, Dont boy this now, its not worth it

These guys need to be sued for fraudulent behavior and be made to refund all the money that any user has paid into it. It’s basically illegal.     I can’t play this game. I play career mode normally but I just can’t play this year. I don’t know how they’ve managed it but all your AI players are completely useless and just stand around watching the opposition attack. Midfielders will not come back and just stand there doing nothing. Defenders seem to back away from the strikers. This coupled with how hard it is to tackle makes theI can’t play this game.     I see a lot of people complaining that it's the same game as every year, it's not. It's much worse. This is the least balanced FIFA there has been for close to 20 years. Bottom line is, it's not even fun to play. It feels like a game that's been tuned specifically for esports competitions and it's not longer a game designed for people to enjoy.

    Scripted BS - its not even subtle anymore, half time/full time goals, rebounds, blocks, defenders being actually (moved/slid) scripted out of position to leave huge areas for attackers to run into - whats the point....

    Gameplay absolutely horrendous! It is an absolute joke compared to FIFA 20 (which wasn't the best). Passing is absolutely stupid (a ball goes the whole lenght of the field like a hot knife through butter). Defending is terrible, and even if you used te be an absolute wall in FIFA 20, it doesn't matter. Overall a trash game!!

    I’ve played fifa for a long time, this is by far the worst version I’ve played. The game play is shocking. Granted career mode has a couple of nice changes, but not enough to be mentionable. I find that I have to sim the games as if I play on my normal level (legendary or above) the game play is too awful. Midfielders don’t track back, goalkeepers always concede near post, the team don’tI’ve played fifa for a long time, this is by far the worst version I’ve played. The game play is shocking. Granted career mode has a couple of nice changes, but not enough to be mentionable. The slightest of contact inside the box will be given as a penalty, whereas outside of the box nearly no fouls are given. I honestly can’t believe how EA have been able to mess up the refereeing so much, it’s always been something that has been fairly solid but this years game has had the worst decisions I have ever seen (for and against me). In conclusion, I wouldn’t recommend buying this game. Fifa has been in decline over the years anyway but this game is by far the worst.… Expand

    Skripting pay to win especially weekend league where your players play like they are stupid and you cant win matches and rank up if you don't buy fifa coins. It all about the money if you don't mean to buy fifa points don't play this game. Community is also really bad even in april lot of people still using same meta players and you will face same teams over and over again

    I can only compare this game to expectations rather than previous games, as I've avoided it for years. However I can confirm that it's dire. Career mode is clunky and a bit lazy. But Ultimate Team is where the bad really is. Setting aside how it's encouraging people into loot box gambling, and how it rewards people who are willing to pay for packs (because for most people, success is depending on having the best players), the gameplay is glitchy and flawed, and while on the one hand claims to be sim-like with its inconsistent and biased refereeing, encourages the use of skill moves and button bashing (or right stick twiddling in FIFA) to bypass any skill requirement - when you see Ian Wright doing fancy skill moves you'll understand how dumb it is. It rewards players who can't be bothered to learn to defend by making AI defending overstrong (and actually punishing people who like to control the defending themselves). Then you have issues like gifting some favoured people special and icon cards to use in public competitions against paying public; that if you aren't willing to spend all day trading or buying points then you'll always be second class and will never see the top players; the often terrible servers (although these have been improved in the last month or so, only taken 6 months).

    There is stuff to like, the online modes are slick, the menus fine. But there is so much to not like that I definitely won't be buying it again next year or for some time. And unless you like games that drive you to absolute rage, I recommend you avoid it.    … Expand

A striker might be better at center back than Van Dijk if he has high pace. Neuer will do the exact same job in net as a 64 rated player. Let me go get 24 icon swaps to get mid inzaghi.     Fifa has tried to get around the scripting issues which were more blatant before by making player switching more unreliable so that you switch to the wrong player at key moments. Passes will also go astray or be stupidly slow and defenders will not move towards the ball to make space for attackers to have a clear pathway to goal. It plays exactly the same as 17,18,19,20 did without any changes anywhere (offline,online), they don’t even bother to change the tile menu they use since fifa 14 and they just resell the same game every year with updated rosters on full price.     Woeful. Played the franchise since FIFA 95. The past 5 years has gone from bad to worse. I generally play Ultimate team. The changes this year have made the game not only unrealistic to the point of ridiculous but also completely killed the gameplay. Defending is a joke, you can take someone out who is 1 on 1 and not even receive a yellow card however an attacker trips over his own feet inWoeful. Played the franchise since FIFA 95. The create your own stadia is a mess, pink lines, snowmen and birthday cake footballs shouldn’t be in the game. The whole mode is a complete cash cow. Players get nerfed after a period of time so you’re forced to upgrade and spend money on coins. To get the best players you either have to play at least 60 games per week so that’s a minimum of 15 hours just to be in with a chance to get some decent ‘pack’ pulls or you have to spend real money to buy packs which for icon players have about a 1% chance pull rate and for normal 88+ rated players it’s about 5% depending on packs. EA trying to clamp down on players buying coins from the black market so they are closing accounts at the slightest suspicion (hasn’t happened to me but I know plenty) so if you buy a player for more than they are worth by accident EA bans you from the transfer market. Players are constantly being hacked and coins gone and players sold etc. You contact EA and they assign a games specialist to investigate, 2 month later they look into it and claim that nothings wrong and you lose your coins etc and EA don’t operate an appeals procedure nor do they have any kind of complaints procedure so you cannot escalate anything. They are not bothered about the customer it’s only about the money. The servers are terrible, they always have been but you would think the popularity of the game that they would invest in this area. No not EA, you play a game with constant lag and often kicks you out for connectivity reasons even though your internet and your opponents internet are high with a low ping. The games broken. More about the cash cow rather than the gaming for EA. Very poor showing. I will not invest again next year. This is the last which is a shame… Expand

    Utter **** scripting is worse than it’s ever been, there is no such thing as smart A.I. and the play is clunky, Sunday league mistake after mistake. I thought they would have tried with some of the new rebranding but like EA this is hot garbage covering in the frustrations of nearly any player who has touched the game.

    Game for fans who either need to work online at FUT every day, or instead want to try a modified career mode, which is starting to really look like Football Manager. Otherwise, it's a decent update for the full price. [Issue#307]

    The FIFA series desperately needs a fresh start. Right now, it relies mainly on the Ultimate Team mode and marketing, while going around in circles. Instead of leaping into the future, FIFA 21 takes half a step forward and two steps sideways in an attempt to differentiate itself from its predecessor well enough to rationalize spending money. If you already own FIFA 20 and are not addicted to Ultimate Team, you can sit this one out. [12/2020, p.44]
