    I've been playing FIFA since '98. And back to it from fifa11.
    So... this is the worst one. No gameplay improvements from the previous iteration, same mechanics of the last 8 years. Same "glitches" since fifa17, GKs are crap from close, gods from distance. AI cheats as when playing vs Computer the program controls    Not a crybaby: three times top200 weekend league and Div 1 Rivals player.

    AI cheats as when playing vs Computer the program controls more players at the same time but there is no way for the player to control more than 3 at the same time.

    I believe NO ONE at EA ever watched a football game because pressing for them is just running forward, uncontrolled players will ignore the ball even if it's in front of them while your opponent(if AI controlled) will have 4 different players rushing to the ball.

    It's the same old trick from EA: adding a couple of features and changing values of the players.
    Until someone gets hurt, or worse, EA will probably keep going this way for years... people go mental for much less than what this game does (especially as there are prizes, tournaments and a few hundred thousands pounds every months in tournament prizes out there)... sooner or later someone will be triggered by something and someone will pay the price because of Fifa    … Expand

    I have played fifa12, 13 , 14 , 15, 16 i noticed some weird changes at 17 i stopped and i came to check the game at 21 and honestly what a piece of garbage. Worst game i have bought in my life. I want refund for my wallet and time fk the developers and **** EA and **** this **** ass game

    The game has no logic and physics don't exist in this game. I quit foot because it's just a fruit machine. I tried pro clubs but the AI are disabled in the head, your own character has complications does not follow instructions.     Just got this game today and it doesn’t take long to see that EA blew another one. Insanely scripted and buggy game. Between Madden and fifa just about everyone at ea needs to be fired. Just embarrassing at this point there is no realism in these games anymore.

Early games online have them ending like 5-6, 6-8, 7-5. Everyone is just trying to outscore each other. After some practice in defending, you can keep the score down but it's really not realistic as the games are still like ping pong games and you just want to defend and counter all the time.

    Against the CPU, on World Class, games are ending 8-0 or 9-0. You just have to exploit the through balls, and contain the CPU.

    It's not even a good simulation of the beautiful game now. It's a ping pong game of high scores.

    I don't even want to talk about micro transactions.

    Ful of bugs, momentum, servers are broken despite EA lying on ping values... The meta is to run straight as quickly as you can... Since this fifa is basically a slightly modified fifa 20 it is a total scandal that more bugs have been introduced and that the gameplay gets worse. Yet people will give tons of money to EA for this disastrous game

    There are a lot of reasons why I think the game is bad, but I don't think I have enough space here to say them all, so, I'm gonna tell you only a few of them.

The real big change is only the training system, which might become quite annoying after some time because you literally have to simulate it every time, why couldn't it play automatically? I mean I don't want to stop every other day just to simulate it.

    Another reason, might be the biggest, is Ultimate Team. I know is just a game mode and I don't have to play it, but it's the main mode and it should be good, right? Well, in EA's opinion, not really, it's enough to make money. Well, us, the player would really like to be able to enjoy it, it would be rally nice, I mean, if EA were capable to create a great game in the past, why couldn't they now? Because they don't want to, because they know people would buy it anyway. So, they don't really care if the gameplay is not enjoyable. The main reason why the gameplay is **** is the script, which we don't have a proof it exists, but we all know it does, and of there are 2 reasons it exists. First of all, they want this game to be played a lot, just like Overwatch, League of Legends, Counter Strike and all those kind of games, so they want you to have a reason to play again, that's why they make you lose, to have a reason to keep playing, to win and to grind, that's why a lot of players have a record which is about 50-50 because that's what they want, mediocre players to keep playing, and with that, you might be stuck in a division, just like me, today I'm in division 7, tomorrow 6, and in a couple days 7 again, because I win 5, and I don't just win, I destroy guys with much better teams, and then, tomorrow I get beaten like 5-0 with 70% possession and against a gold non-rare team, and that's extremely frustrating. The other reason why if you change the team you might be playing good for a few matches, is because they want you to lose after a while, so you will think the team is the problem and you will buy packs, because this game is **** PAY TO WIN. And, unfortunately, I think the problem is only about 60% percent EA's fault, and I regret to say it, but the community is a problem too, I mean, if you wanna change something, don't play the game they want you to play, they just want you to play only those OP players and be sweaty AF, even in friendlies, I mean why the **** would you include skill base matchmaking in friendlies ffs, and a match limit, in FRIENDLIES, which is supposed to be the game mode which should note be sweaty, it should be friendly, but luckily, not all friendlies have a match limit, so why couldn't you, the player, help the others in those matches? Instead of being sweaty and wanting to win no matter what, do the golden goal rule, or at least just let them score the goals, and after that you could play it the way you want. And the other problem is the guys that are buying FIFA points, they break the game, please, if you ever said that the game is **** because it's pay to win but you bought FIFA points, then you are part pf the problem, because even you probably didn't buy a big amount and you say it didn't matter because it was just like 20$, that's what other million people say just like you, and if a million people gave 20$ thinking that is not a really big amount and it wouldn't change anything, well let me tell you that it did, because that's a lot of money. And I get that you say that the streamers are the ones that breaks the game because they spend thousand of dollars on FIFA points, and I agree, but still, we, the community, might make a difference. So, if you lose, at least try to not get frustrated, because it might not actually be your fault.

    Another problem with the community are the toxic players. Some of the celebrations are so **** annoying, especially when Mbappé scores, because 90% of the times, the goal was not scored because your opponent is good, but because Mbappé is **** OP.

    Another reasons are the other game modes, and the problem is that EA don't **** care about them. Seasons used to be so much fun back in the game, and now are playing maximum 1000 players, it's **** dead. Pro clubs might be the only mode I had fun playing, but guess what, EA doesn't care about it, so it's **** hidden in the online section, which no one cares about, and it haven't been improved in YEARS. It might be the best game mode, if more people played it, or if constant updates were brought. I mean look at 2K, their main NBA game mode is MyPlayer, which is basically 2K's pro clubs mode, but it's actually made good, or at least better than pro clubs, which has so much potential.

    This is not football, this is arcade sport and I don't know name... I play fifa from '94 and they only think about money. After patch game is for kids. Ultimate team is game without defence, only run and pass. Attack whit two or three players. This is not a game, this is a shame.

    Remember when people talked about how AI was going to take over the world? Rest assured, FIFA21's AI isn't that smart. Even the IQ of my toaster is greater than that.

    You can make the game much better by only considering the successful points made in FIFA19 and PES2013 and the mods made by the mod communities. I'm afraid PES2022 will be better than FIFA22.

    The gameplay started to be nice, but later on, there comes a lot of patches, making it harder to get along within the game. Just a watch a couple of videos and depending on the latest patches, you will see some laws of physics bending bugs like balls-through-bodies or having your defenders running away from a ball, they most definitely would have intercepted. Whats my point ? It’s not a football / Fussball / Soccer simulation if I am not in control of the action. Will this improve over time ? Probably , but I really wonder if the developers want you to pay a lot or if they want to deliver an impressive simulation. Time will tell.

    There are some things though, that I like about the game and it is the amount of content and special cards I could get in the first three moth of playing. But I beg you , if you love football simulations as much as I do, don’t spend to much money. I had the best season ever without spending cash extra, and it made the experience much easier for me to know that I can proceed in the game without paying. But until Fifa decides , that this game is about skills rather then it being a rail-simulation, we just gotta wait and see. Or maybe we take a glance on a famous Japanese company who came up with a cool simulation a couple of years ago.    … Expand

Passing is nonexistent, defending is awful, everyone does the same thing and if you don’t as well you have zero success.     Am a pes guy , and I recently tried fifa 20.The game play of 21 for me has improved from 20. Still needs to reduce some unrealistic movements in the game and needs more weight like pes. Asides that it's a better overall experience for me.

    Anything that goes in the air is almost impossible to defend. The bots are extremely slow and you can't play like that. DEFENDING IS JUST IMPOSSIBLE. you have to score 5 goals a match in order to properly win a game

    I play a lot of career mode on world class dif, built up a club from Eng div 2 and all the way up to premier league, won some cups, and even beat liverpool and other big teams and won champions league/europa league, however there is a BIG issue with pre-determined performance or scripting as some call it. Some games my players would miss every shot (even if i checked the replay and saw i aimed right), so I'd restart the game and my shots would go in. Other types of games are when the opposition is super high pressing, or games where every almost pass is missplaced. So those kinds of pre-determinded games happened sometimes and when they did i restarted to fix it.
    Once I got to premier league I had just won the Super Cup against Juventus 3-1, challenging match but we outplayed them. I then meet Fullham and Everton in the first matches of the premier league, and I get completely destroyed, when i tell my players to sprint they jog, every bounce goes to opposing player and my players are suddenly playing extremely poorly, against Fullham. So there seems to be some kind of factors affecting my players since it's a (premier) league game even if it's against (much) worse opposition than what I'd normally face. This was very, very, disappointing since i finally got in to the premier league and 5 games in I didn't see any point continuing and removed the 200+ match save that I'd been playing on for a long time. The scripting makes this game unplayable, at least against AI. I wish it was a setting I could turn off so that my players play like they can and my opposition is better instead of that my players are suddenly awful.    … Expand

    This is a true review instead of just trying to bash the game. EA are really trying to promote Volta as the mode to play this year and although it is fun for a few hours, it does not have enough to hold a players interest.

    FUT is the big seller and EA know this, they have added a co-op mode to this which is a nice touch but this is as far as compliments can go about this game. My favourite mode of fifa is pro clubs with my friends and this is the same that has been for the last 4 years, there’s a bug that doesn’t show the right kit that existed in fifa 20 and guess what... it’s still here, how lazy can you get. Career mode has no personality and seems to be bottom of EA’s priorities, with the game having features return and claim to be new additions. Game scanned faces are the same ones from years ago, with only champions league clubs seeming to be the ones that ever get any attention. This game may as well be a patch update from Fifa 20, EA will never change unless someone comes to disrupt the market and with how licensing works I don’t think that will ever change.    … Expand

    This game has never been improoved by EA. Same **** every year. The physics are terrible, the gameplay is scripted,the p2w system is hilarious in a game that cost you at least 70 euros in its base version. This is the last time i brought a Fifa in my life. Next year it s time to go on PES.

But when playing FUT during the WEEKEND LEAGUE, it just feels like my guys are not as fluid or fast as the other players, I'm not sure how a player with a 99 pace get caught from someone with 72?     I bought this game to play fut, to play online but this game is umplayable unless you haver a server near you. The lag is horrible. I would avoid at all cost if you are planing on playing online and do not have a server near you.

    Since Fifa 2019 it's just going backwards, teammates getting stupider every year. Goal keeper is somewhere lost in space.
    Ball drops next to the player ant he just looks at it while the oponent takes it. Every shot gets blocked, goal keeper is out, one player is on the line and my one is shooting direct to the oponent player.. .

    This has to be the all time worst fifa, and personally the worst game I have ever played. The mechanics the way fifa used to be played doesn’t exist anymore. The game isn’t about football anymore, position and timing don’t matter anymore. Everyone plays the same because the game only favors one type of play style. Absolutely terrible, really regret spending my money of it.

    This isnt a football game every match referee giving at least one stupid penalty defending is impossible your defenders giving chance the shoot lag problem is very very annoying you are pressing the button but the player not giving thev reacting he has to be all you can sense iş rage when you are playing this game

    I am a career mode player and I personnaly appreciated this Fifa 21. Having the possibility to jump in/out in a simulated game is gold. The option to change player position is nicely done. Managing sharpness is a little bit too time consuming in the beginning but after a while you can simulate almost every session. New player development is a mixed bag. I am delighted I don't have to play repetitive mini games to improve every attribute but it is way too easy to improve skill moves, wrong foot & work rate. These huge improvements should be limited (only 1 star to choose for each player) and come at a price. Atm, every young midfielders & forward can become 5 stars geniuses with high working rate in less than 6 months.

    Gameplay wise, the game is almost the same as fifa 20 imo, only faster but you have the option to slow it down so it looks less inhuman. I almost never used the new ability to control the direction of my teammates runs but the option is there for the gifted players. As usual, defending is too hard. Defensive midfield abandon you and full backs deliberately leave huge spaces in their back. Playing the offside is very difficult and goalkeepers have not improved.

    On legendary or Ultimate difficulty, you will suffer the classic Fifa scripts. If you lead 1-0, prepare yourself to see your best forward hit the post from a position he usually always scores while on the other side of the pitch your 90 rated defender controlled by the AI suddenly lose all defensive awareness and freeze so your opponent finally equalize at the last min of the game.     Needs far more balance in the game. Stop making it about speed every year - There should be benefits by playing with a slower but stronger squad (ie. Long ball benefits).     Split FIFA from Ultimate team - EA make hundreds of millions on that format alone and UT is all they'll invest in.     Game for fans who either need to work online at FUT every day, or instead want to try a modified career mode, which is starting to really look like Football Manager. Otherwise, it's a decent update for the full price. [Issue#307]

    The FIFA series desperately needs a fresh start. Right now, it relies mainly on the Ultimate Team mode and marketing, while going around in circles. Instead of leaping into the future, FIFA 21 takes half a step forward and two steps sideways in an attempt to differentiate itself from its predecessor well enough to rationalize spending money. If you already own FIFA 20 and are not addicted to Ultimate Team, you can sit this one out. [12/2020, p.44]
