    Absolutely dire. Career mode scripted to the point that you have no input into where you finish in the league. It's the same old scripting that has been evident for years and years. 45th minute goals , 90th minute goals , beating the top teams easily while losing to small teams, slow sluggish players that can't pass,tackle or shoot when it's the AI's turn to win , roles reversed when it'sAbsolutely dire.     I have Experience in FIFA across all consoles and generations. Being a fairly good to quality player.

    As for FIFA 21 in particular. I seriously have very little idea what is going on for the most part. Its genuine carnage. If i wanted to play destruction derby 2 id play destruction derby 2.
    Likewise if i wanted to play a rugby game id play a rugby game. If you dont want to try play the beautiful game but yet u want to win matches on fifa i suggest passing the ball one player at a time to the wide position then run for a try just like rugby. Seems to be the best bet.

    Why is there no safe side to pass the ball too?

    You cant build an attack up theres zero way of moving the teams around the pitch using creativity it just doesnt work.. the reward u get for being clever in this game is punishment ..

    For example... Passing the ball around and its all compact and tight with very little room for manoeuvre,

    Ur opponent gets caught out From a lovely little move in the pitch now there is room to exploit finally you play the simple pass for it to be cut out somehow? 1 pass from what looked like aimless clearance
    To the furthest forward player that none of ur 11 men want to step in front of and mop up simply like they would in football for some reason The all new collision system kicks in turns it into some sort of winner takes all tussle (the rest of the team sit and watch they do not consider any sort of danger)

    defending is painful, tackles don't work, players run past the ball, let the ball leave the field because their first touch is horrible, gameplay is just passing to pacey forwards and running on the goal as if it was rugby because defenders can't do much against it, winning this way isn't fun

    on top of that, players fall over after minuscule contacts, no fouls are given, physics are ridiculous, ball flies through solid objects, pass targeting is way worse than in previous FIFAs (i turned "tutor" back on to make sure i direct L3 properly because I couldn't believe the passes game was coming up with)

    Same game from last year, but WORSE. Defending is none existent. The AI for defensive midfielders, is awful soon as the ball goes past them they stop working. Menus are sluggish and laggy, and that sharpness system is a joke.

I thought that they might have learned from FIFA 20, the game went the entire run without 2 main mechanics ever working, heading and timed finishing. Last year stamina was a joke, people used team press and constant pressure to win games, the main issue being that for some reason those tactics effected the opponent's team and AI , misplaced passes from 2 yards, AI teammates running away from play and to make it worse there was no effect of the users stamina, it's the same this year. The free flowing and fun football experience is destroyed by every single player using the same completely unrealistic tactic. The worst thing is that when EA do fix it the same players start to complain because they don't know how to play the game without an exploited tactic and then EA change it back and call it "more balanced". FIFA 21 is another lazy, badly designed and maintained game that we have come to expect from a money grabbing company like EA. Will I play it, of course, it's FIFA and I will complain about the broken mechanics and refuse to use exploited tactics each time. Hopefully PES use this year off to bring a big challenge to Fifa. They have already showed how easily a major patch could do everything that FIFA does with its yearly title release.… Expand

    You would think a game that came out every year could eventually get it right. Fifa has basically become a copy and paste from previous years, with minor changes. I'm not sure what game the professional reviewers are writing about, or is they have to say its good because it is very far from it.     You would think a game that came out every year could eventually get it right. Fifa has basically become a copy and paste from previous years, with minor changes. I'm not sure what game the professional reviewers are writing about, or is they have to say its good because it is very far from it.

    First up, the defence in this game is just...non-existent. They introduced more attacking "improvements" and once again have done nothing to make the defence any better. Often your players will just stand there and watch as the opposing players run past them, either with or without the ball. If you are playing with CM's then be prepared to have to control them ALL the time, otherwise the same above will happen, they will just stand there and rotate (not turn) as players walk past them. I cant even tell you how many times the ball has rolled only a few inches past them and they have done nothing, or had to watch as i control my cb to track a strikers run whilst my CM stands completely still as players walk past them.

    The game in an attacking sense is all about pace as well. Quicker players = better players. With the extremely over powered through ball combined with this pace and the inability to defend, it is next to impossible to defend, just sit back and hope for the best really. In about 95% of games i have played there has been over 5 goals in total. It becomes a game where literally every attack can lead to a goal.

    Goalkeepers may as well not be on the pitch, they are useless. Often they just fall under shots, and very rarely will actually save anything, let alone hold onto it. Most corners are punched out straight back to the opponent. If the ball goes back to a keeper from , say, an oppo bad through ball rather than being able to control the keeper they will normally slice the ball away for a throw in.

    Corners can be okay, but if the other team manages to win the ball it's very easy to score on the counter.

    In FUT (if you play that) the variety is gone. I remember the old fifas when this was about mixing teams up etc, now i rarely see a team i haven't played several times before (back 4 of mendy, varane, dijk walker).

    The matchmaking system is broken. It does not take into account the level of your team, only your skill rating, why not just combine the two? There is no point me with my average team constantly playing against people with in form ronaldo and other legends making up their team just because they have the same skill rating. The gap in sides you face negates the evenly matched skill rating. It also means there is no real point building any bronze/silver teams.

    And my final point, the broken mechanics of the game. A huge glaring one is kick off goals. For some reason after scoring, its very easy for the other team to simply run through your whole team and score a goal. Especially with the kick up "glitch", not necessarily a glitch but a player juggling a ball can travel from the halfway line through to the goal with relative ease. Its broken things like this that still have not been fixed, and ea probably wont bother until Fifa 22 comes out to do it.

    Before writing this i have played over 100 games, thinking that was a fair amount to give an honest and unbiased review of the game. It's completely broken. Defence as mentioned is pointless, the cpu off the ball do nothing to help anymore, instead just standing there and watching. Your best bet is basically to go for the all out attack. It isn't uncommon at all that i've found myself 3-0 down from 3 attacks in 20 minutes, only to win the game 8-3 in the end.

Laws of physics dont apply to the players. It's what you deserve after ignoring your fanbase for so many years and having the audacity to charge full price. You could've been undefeated fit the next 20 years of you just did a bit of actual work and were innovative. RIP FIFA

In fifa the rewards which they now tell you are below 1% is to use a player for some matches before they bring out the next fifa and make hit redundant.why is this? I really dont know. its not like the payout will effect fifa in anyway or cost them money. The item they give us can only be there for a duration of the game because some poor sole has gambled god knows how much to get them. Yes in money and packs cost alot of money, 1 lightning round pack can cost nearly £30.

    Gambling is known to be addictive mature and sensible adults get hooked on it and can't stop its why there is an age rating yet fifa is able to get away with having a game that pushes it in your face and aim it as anyone above 3 that plays it.

    Obviously a 3 year isn't going to gamble. But what about a 12 year old or above? I have been playing fifa since I was 12 going back to fifa 09. When gambling was implemented into fifa I was starting secondary school, I couldn't afford packs and my parents wouldn't put their cards into consoles as they didn't trust them. Luckily.

    My team every fifa was about 50k in total after a year back in fifa 12 to 15 there was no weekend league or squad battles ect... there was seasons with bad rewards. Packs go through fifa points no one ever really spent coins. It was bad because you had to buy contract for players with match earnings and every so often you could afford a player. But it didn't matter even with my team of 2000 coin players. The game was fun and I could still win. Compare that to today's fifa. If you want to try a 50k team in fifa 21 in division 10 good luck to you. lucky to score 1 goal.

    I say this because even with that I dreamed to try players like Messi and Ronaldo but I couldn't get packs but if I could of done as a kid I would of without hesitation. Compare that to today's. A different world in a way. Most have bank cards on consoles. Kids have easier access to packs. This game does something that makes the gambling so bad I would genuinely say its a crime.

    Team of the season this is a big event in fifa one of thier schemes to try encourage you to gamble. They bring out a team of player that can beat any other player in the game with maxed out stats. They put them in packs and tell you the chance of pulling 1 is below 1% but they won't tell you how below it is. They then implement lightning rounds every hour there are packs with a still low but slightly higher chance of getting one these packs usually costs around 30 pound each. They run out after an hour so you have a limited time to get them obviously making you think you need them.

    For me on this game as it was impossible for me get good players and grind the game I had college and work so not alot of time for games so basically ultimate team was unplayable online. It wasnt fifa 12 you won't win with a bad team and everyone was grinding weekly tournaments I didn't have the time to gamble. So I put in the money and after 20 minutes nothing back. Just lots of 83 rated cards worth nothing. That's when I learned just how bad the gambling was.

    The gameplay this fifa is the worst it has ever been. And its for a reason to explain this fifa I have had time to grind because of covid. I only played online I had 556 wins to 432 losses. I don't feel like I win when I win and I dont feel like lose when I lose. Defending ai makes space for attackers and attackers sometimes are really out of place.

    For more experience I play fut champs usually finish elite 3 or gold 1 I hate playing it but given the time we are in I can't find anything better to do. The rewards from this mean my team for the first time ever is cracked.

    yet the gameplay makes everyone feel it isn't enough. You have a winning streak you lose so you sell your team, for some reason ea take a cut of the coins you sell your players for on thier own market and thier own game explain that me. No wait don't. The reason this is rhe game manipulates you in every situation to try and gamble and that is the crime. In every aspect of ultimate team weather its the rewards, transfer market, sbcs. Its all there to make you lose coins so that you eventually take the easy route and buy packs exept it isn't an easy route its a lose all your money for nothing route. To me pay to win is a crime and the game taking out enjoyment to force you towards gambling is even more of a crime. Therefore it should have at least a PEGI rating of 18. In my opinion the pack system how it is implemented right now should be banned.     Didnt think it could be worse than fifa 20, but it is. Passing doesnt work. Defending isnt a thing. Finishing is trash and goalkeepers all feel 40 rated. The game is just lets see who scores the most, no football involved. Do not buy!!!!

    The only positive from this game is Career Mode. Many good changes which makes career mode enjoyable, from training your players separately, Simulating matches which allows you to watch without having to play, official licenses for the Champions League and Europa League. However, I don't think Career Mode is enough to spend a minimum of £60 on the game.

    Overall, don't buy this game. EA do the same every year. They will make one patch in a week or so, make the game even worse, then kill it off by introducing insane microtransactions and promote gambling non stop.    … Expand

    Well what can I say, just a copy and paste of the last game and the one before. Gameplay is possibly worse, as a person who used to enjoy doing season after season on career mode I am again left disappointed by the exact same career mode as the previous few seasons. Especially the player career mode which hasn't even had any minor tweaks by the look of it.

    FIFA 20 durant le mois d'octobre 2019 était vraiment bien calibré entre l'attaque et la défense il y avait un jeu bien réalisé et équilibré dans lequel on pouvait prendre du plaisir.... MAIS!

    Suite aux pleurnichards venant des anglais qui s'en sortaient pas, le jeu a subit une MaJ détruisant tout le gameplay mis en place dans le but de satisfaire les english wales (et ouais c'est l'argent qui drive le gameplay) du coup on a eu un jeu avec une vitesse de jeu augmentée, tellement que le GameEngine ne suit même pas, on peut le constater en regardant les animations des joueurs qui glissent sur le terrain, symptomatique que l'animation est trop longue par rapport à la vitesse du jeu, du coup l'animation est accélérée ou n'a pas le temps d'être jouée.

    Pourquoi tout ce bla-bla, tout simplement parce que FIFA 21 hérite de tout çà, ce n'est plus un jeu de football. Ça fait 3 années que c'est de pire en pire, le dernier jeu vraiment bien étant le 17. Avec cet opus le jeu est méga speed et full arcade (tu tires dos au but, t'inquiète le joueur va faire un 180° en calant une lucarne, ce n'est qu'un exemple parmi tant d'autres...). Le moteur de jeu gérant la physique est le même et commence à être à bout souffle, les joueurs patinent sur le terrain, font des dingueries avec la balle aimantée à leurs pieds... bref ils ont pas sorti de démo, on comprend mieux pourquoi. J'ai très peu d'espoir pour la version next gen, dev un nouveau moteur de jeu prend du temps (minimum 2 ans).
    Testez-le en EA access (c'est 4€ versus 50€), 10h c'est amplement suffisant pour se rendre compte de la nullité de cet opus.

    (perso j'ai annulé ma précommande direct, rdv FIFA 22 en espérant revoir un jeu de foot, l'année 2021 va être longue)    … Expand

    I didn't think it would be possible to surpass the dire standards of Fifa 20 but congratulations EA you did it. A big case of same game different year yet again. I learned my lesson with UT as well, absolute rip off of a mode and can be a toxic environment online. Deleted it and bought PES, which actually plays like a game of football. Won't miss it

    Game for fans who either need to work online at FUT every day, or instead want to try a modified career mode, which is starting to really look like Football Manager. Otherwise, it's a decent update for the full price. [Issue#307]

    The FIFA series desperately needs a fresh start. Right now, it relies mainly on the Ultimate Team mode and marketing, while going around in circles. Instead of leaping into the future, FIFA 21 takes half a step forward and two steps sideways in an attempt to differentiate itself from its predecessor well enough to rationalize spending money. If you already own FIFA 20 and are not addicted to Ultimate Team, you can sit this one out. [12/2020, p.44]
