    The on-pitch gameplay this year is far improved and I really like it but all that fine work is irrelevant because the career mode is a broken mess. It's absolutely unplayable and for £75 it's an insult. It's now 5 days after release and I still don't have up to date squads. That's the least of my worries though because literally everything is broken. Honestly, nothing works properly or at all and if you do a search you will find the career mode issues megathread at EA answers because there are just too many to list here.     What can you even do on this Fifa? You can’t dribble, can’t defend properly and do not even think about trying to pass... Players constantly over hit passes for absolutely no reason, or pass to the complete wrong player. Oh and the new free kick system is completely laughable!! The game is trash, and it happens every single year. Come on PES, now is your time to shine!

    The gameplay update is good. But the career mode bugs are just bad. This is not normale, it’s unplayable. They just copy paste the bugs of FIFA 18 and 19 en they make them worse. This has to stop EA!

    I was betting on career mode to be better than last year's but ended up being disappointed once again... No effort whatsoever, they focus mainly in FUT. Volta doesn't worth it. Wtf is your problem with pro clubs? Improve the damn mode. Shameful

Fifa fan since 06 but the shocking state of the game in 2015 resorted to me buyingI pes 2016 the gameplay was head and shoulders above fifa, but the overall package was inferior hence I went back to fifa. Here we are 3 years on from then and I will not buy fifa next year. They thick we are jackasses who will keep buying their game. The can well and truly stick it

    Career Mode is completely broken . Transfers have not been updated either I.e Navas is still at Madrid and not at PSG etc . Developer seems to only care about Ultimate team mode and nothing else . If you love to play career mode stay well away from this mess .

    I used to buy FIFA every year, 18, 19 & 20 have been absolute garbage focusing on FUT and "Surprise mechanics". Make real progression with your game. Quit shunning career mode..

    The game is somehow worse than fifa 19, career mode is completely broken and riddled with bugs. the game play is better, but the new penalty system allows the AI to know where you're going on every kick. In short, the game is a waste of $60.

    The game was a huge disappointment I bought the ultimate edition hoping the game will be great especially hearing they worked on career mode yet was left disappointed an I wasted my money. Gameplay is broken especially against AI the hardest difficulty legendary feels really easy... Not just that but the games broken especially career mode it has many issues the game overall is terrible.

    It is fantastic how we pay money every year for just a diferebt picture, for a bit of improvement in the graphics but for the same old piece of crap and for EA's **** that they put in the game.
    The same old better team looses because EA has to create a balance. Same idiotic game. Don't buy!

It's clear for all regular players to see that the only real investment into the game has gone to FUT and online game modes where EA continue to make more and more money.     This game is horrible really, the only positive is the menu and FUT but in terms of gameplay very bad!! The most frustrating is the tactical defending!! It's frustrating that I can not use press when I want. The system wants you to wait but that is not how it is in reallife. I decide if I want to press not the system I m not gonna wait till the children can do tricks and shoot!! EveryThis game is horrible really, the only positive is the menu and FUT but in terms of gameplay very bad!! The most frustrating is the tactical defending!! Could even giv the player base what they wanted pro clubs Volta!

    Over all it's utter trash but it's what we all expected and we still purchased.

    EA will never learn and neither will we.

    Very disappointed. FIFA 20 is probably worse than 18 & 19 & that's saying something. The game play is ridiculously slow, the passing has not been sorted out, to many glitches. The only positive is the soundtracks. Are EA copying Apple? Same **** different number.

Everything to do with player/ball movement is so sub par it is almost laughable. You play PES and the player strike the ball like you would in real life. The ball curls and moves like a modern day ball. In Fifa, it has a tiny curl which just about veers from a perfectly straight line. No ball moves like that in real life. Short lobbed passes on Fifa look so fake compared to pes. The ridiculous way players move when they shoot in fifa? Never seen any player shoot like that. Both feet off the floor with legs swinging akimbo, for a tame trickled shot from 12 yards. So unrealistic. What about playing a ball into a striker and him laying a ball off? In PES they have neat little round the corner passes or realistic side foot passes depending on individual player skill level. In Fifa? Oh you’ve got a 38 year old CF performing trick passes. Like that’s ever gonna happen in the modern game. The pitches all look the same, which wouldn’t be an issue however they do not look authentic or real. Player movement is the same as it was in FIFA 13, I really don’t know what this frostbite stuff is about because it’s not made much difference.

    That’s before we even get started on career mode. If you’re reading reviews and seeing it being slated and thinking ‘it can’t be that bad’. Yes, it can, and it is. It’s like it’s been completely forgotten about. Which is probably true seeing as EA are only bothered about money makers like FUT. I think it’s so glaringly obvious now because they have ‘tried’ to make changes. But because it’s been so heavily neglected it looks shoddy, half hearted and not what you’d expect from the game. In previous years it has stuck to the tried and tested methods that worked almost seamlessly. Whereas now they have new menus and features that are half a job and it tells. Edit player is shocking. It might not be important for some players, but for me it is (especially when the game is released with half the transfers not updated and players in last years boots) You click on ‘edit real player’ and you are taken to the ‘create a player’ menu to select male or female, then it takes you the ‘new’ edit player screen. Confusing?
    It automatically starts with the Austrian league, rather than previously with your selected favourite team. Then you have to scroll across to find your teams nation, league and team name, this gets further confusing because teams are not in alphabetical (or any sort of) order. So once you’ve finally found your team and scrolled to your player. You edit him/her, then select to confirm changes. And poof! You’re taken back to the main menu to repeat this whole process again. This might seem petty and irrelevant to some, but I have mentioned it to show just how much they have neglected the basics. It is stuff that should be checked before release, right? I could understand if i was playing a beta. Back on the Beta reference, It is full of bugs and glitches. On career mode with man united, I accepted a bid for Phil Jones (because let’s face it, why wouldn’t you?). Went to the main career mode screen and there he is. Phil Jones top to bottom on the right hand side of the screen on top of every single menu. Scroll right, still there. Scroll left. Still there. Go in to training menu, still there. Went back in to squad hub, scrolled down the team list and everyone just merging with Phil Jones body. Except they would go when I moved off their name. But no, Phil was there to stay. Eventually the last one I left it on was Fred, went back to the main CM screen. And there he is! Phil Jones, except now he was joined by Fred’s Head morphed on to his chest.

    In all honestly, I wouldn’t spend the money on it. Even if they fix all the patches and glitches. If you wanting it to play FUT then yeah, go for it because EA will still give a toss about you. If you’re wanting career mode or authentic gameplay don’t bother. PES is so much better for that. Yeah PES has its flaws, you kinda come to expect that with PES, you kinda accept you’re buying the next best thing or the poorer relation. But that’s just it. You don’t expect that with FIFA. But that is exactly what you have got. It is half hearted and unfinished. Much the same as it has been for years now. However this year it is glaringly obvious and EA don’t even seem that bothered. As long as the FUT juggernaut keeps wheeling the micro transactions in, nothing will change. As the first line says, FIFA 20 is FIFA 19 with a brand new hat on it.    … Expand

Loads of players missing from the the Celtic FC roster after initially being up to date, game play is super sluggish, no update to the generic stadiums for years now, career mode is a disaster, commentary is terrible, the stadium announcer is far too loud (could the owner of the blue car etc etc) just absolute garbage butBeen a FIFA fan since 09 and this is the biggest let down by far.     Career Mode is unplayable. They know that CM is broken and these guys know what is wrong, but they never intended for a fix. Why? Because they want you to move to FUT! Not even an apology. All they do is closing forums who address the problems. Ever heard of the Barbra Streisand effect? But they do care for new Fortnite    I'm a life long FIFA player but i'm done with the game.

    Career mode is absolutely broken with no realism. Marketed bug fixes are not implemented in the final game, this is FALSE ADVERTISING. Absolute disgrace.

    Sad that the gameplay is actually good this year.
    EA better fix this or many will switch to PES next year

    I’m glad I never actually bought this game and used my trial for 10 hours as this was all I needed to miss out on my first fifa game in a very long time. I usually jump straight into career mode as for me this is the most enjoyable game mode, however this was totally broken and unplayable after a couple of games, it’s disgraceful the state career mode is on release. I also noticed in career mode and seasons that none of the squads bar FUt are updated which again is disgraceful EA have had at least 3 weeks to do something simple that totally breaks immersion. I played fut for the remaining hours of my trial which was just rage inducing the match making putting my full 11 of bronzes vs someone with a 85 rated team is mind blowing terrible connection. The gameplay was fun for the first 5 games or so then that’s when all the typical b.s started, they’ve ruined set pieces again with the new aiming mechanic. The passing is somehow worse than it was in fifa 19 with at least 4/10 passes going no where near where I wanted, the AI that they said they have improved have not they stand there doing nothing not exploiting any space. Overall there is far too many issues with the game at launch, no major improvements to single player since FIFA 14 and terrible arcadey gameplay that gets boring after 5 games.… Expand

Konami does not make as much on their(FUT) My Club. You actually don't have to spend a fortune to get star players. EA is very disappointing they never listen to their core base.     Really buggy. For instance, I haven't been able to play any of the training games before a match because the view is of a random part of the training pitch and I can't see the player, let alone what I'm supposed to do. A lot to fix

    I'm a career player, have been since I can remember. But the career mode has been neglected, it used to be the one of the main core game modes of fifa but it's a shrill contrast to what it used to be.
    I remember the days you could buy a house etc with your earnings, but hey they scrapped that years ago.
    Career is broken, just look online and you'll find countless examples of big teams losing all the time, selling key players, buying the wrong players etc... Don't buy this for the singleplayer experience.

    FUT. Well here is where corporate greed comes in play. I tried it for 1-2 years, but I just dropped it. I am not going to buy a game for 60 euros only to have to buy card packs to get some decent players. You can get some by playing but you'll be outmatched a lot. Maybe if you're a natural you don't need to. But probably 80-90% is not. Not to mention you'll have to sink hours and hours into this to get some good stuff...

    Oh and the good reviews from IGN and other big sites? Either sponsored or in that sites best interest to be positive. Just think about it, Fifa is a major brand. The tournaments, player/team/league sponsorships, world league, ... They are able to control the mainstream media, don't you think otherwise. You can't as a major gaming site give Fifa a 4/10, because millions keep buying it so you only would damage your own credibility. Reviewers have become afraid.

    To summarize: the innovation is at a low point.
    The new VOLTA is just a recycled mode from the fifa street game series. It should be added as an extra mode, not as a selling point. Career is kind of broken but the football gameplay has improved with 10%. If you have a lot of money to spend, yeah you could buy it, but i wouldn't.    … Expand

    Disgrace that the game was released in this condition. Pes has always had the better gameplay but fifa had the better career mode. Career mode is completely broken at the moment. Only point i gave is for volta mode though this quickly becomes boring once the novelty wears off.

So far I accepted that fifa is an arcade **** game, for almost every year is the same **** But this year I really liked the game for two weeks, because it was enjoyable simulator game and when I played the game it was almost like I am watching the matches trough live tv broadcast.     Automatic defending is a joke. Players in perfect positions

    Attacking runs poor, only time they’re good is with the overpowered 1-2 runs

    Literally no room for creativity, just the same boring **** Waste of having a high rated team. Just get tall and fast players and you’re away Oh and so many bugs it’s unbelievable this made a full release

    en mi opinión es mas de lo mismo que se a visto desde el 2015 hasta el 2020, lo único nuevo es volta y ni tiene mucho que dar, ene estética aun pes le lleva una gran ventaja y bueno lo peor es eso de micro-pago y conseguir moneda en mi opinión el juego se vuelve basura.

Minor changes, old graphics and animations, whoever worked on the Career Mode needs to be sacked. Do not buy this game until they patch it, and if you have already bought it on PS orThe past couple of years the FIFA franchise has been going downhill.     FIFA 20 is a better football simulation in overall compared to FIFA 19, but it’s still lagging behind its main competitor greatly. EA is losing the race to Konami, at least in this generation of consoles, where they used to dominate.
