So far I accepted that fifa is an arcade **** game, for almost every year is the same **** But this year I really liked the game for two weeks, because it was enjoyable simulator game and when I played the game it was almost like I am watching the matches trough live tv broadcast. But now the second update come out, which turned out this game never going to change. It is going to be the same arcade **** every year. But come on EA why? Why?     Disgrace that the game was released in this condition. Pes has always had the better gameplay but fifa had the better career mode. Career mode is completely broken at the moment. Only point i gave is for volta mode though this quickly becomes boring once the novelty wears off.

No chance of a 0-0 game at all defending is all over shop attacking is all over shop. 50/50s always won by player on ball. Keepers don't no what to do in one on ones. Overall fifa has gone back 5 years but they don't care and won't change as they still making loads of money of streamers and kids who's daddy's don't mind paying for there teams. Once again on ea it's a matter of how deep are your pockets not how good you are shocking wouldn't want to be named as a part of the production team as that would be embarrassing re make the game and bring out when it's actually finished absolutely embarrassing aswell realise… Expand

    Volta is the only slight upside/improvement that's at least kinda original though in my opinion the first FIFA street, though more Arcady, was more fun. Whoever is managing EA should be ashamed of themselves. They've managed to continuously lower the quality of almost all of their game-franchises. It seems like there is a pure focus on profits, stock-value and shareholders. If they don't improve things quickly sales will hopefully drop. And fellow gamers, please stop spending money on FUT-packs and other micro transaction nonsense. Since EA won't, if gamers can't, I hope governments will step in and outlaw all of these gambling-mechanics in games, at the very least for all games without an age restriction.     I'll try to give it a fair score, given the great amount things that can be observed. First, VOLTA, as their major improvement is very fun, especially if you play with friends in home. It is not very technical, and god save those who play this for competition, but it fails in one critical issue, it decalibrates your game for nomal mode: tackling is different, movement is different andI'll try to give it a fair score, given the great amount things that can be observed. It is not very technical, and god save those who play this for competition, but it fails in one critical issue, it decalibrates your game for nomal mode: tackling is different, movement is different and every diribbling is different, so if you go play VOLTA for a while, you'll fail in every tackle if go back to FUT later.

    Despite of improvements in many ways about movement, they have done almost nothing about AI passing. Succesful passes are based on timing (who press pass vs tackle first) and not direction (you can give another direction and pass will still be successful), and AI keeps deciding for you which players is the reciever based on computed "pass intention" This was the most important issue about 19, because automatic passes ensures that not so skilled players can win. In adition, pace is back again as the most important stat, and every player is doing the SAME goal: run to the end and then try to pass to the box (thanks to auto pass-reciever dynamic).
    In real football it is important to have timing, but timing without intention is nothing, and intention in Fifa 20 is computed by AI not by you. Ball positioning is 80% given by AI and your marign of failure depends on how much your opponent guess your direction, but as timing is the most important thing, pass correction is 100% almost all the time. All this auto pass positioning makes that players always aims for blind spots, because the slightly mismatch in 'direction battle', and attacking player makes a perfect trough pass, oftenly not even thought by the opponent, even i have done this several times and gives me a pass that i never thought to be so perfect. I have played many several matches that the opponent simply never dribbles and just aim for blind spots.
    Let's put an example with possesion. If your defense line have the ball, and my CB points to LB to pass the ball horizontally but not like a normal pass (0°) but a through pass, CB will pass with advantage but way more ahead in the pitch that i want, like 45° instead of 10° which is what i need, how precise is the pass depends on how good is the player, not your direction. This is crucial, because even if i have available space to position the ball, maybe i don't want to give it so in advance.
    I remeber when passing was a challenge and enjoyied when i got a real nice pass just as i tought. I checked this with Ronaldinho, trying to give surprising through passes, which is impossible because AI chooses for you to which player will recieve based in a computed intention and locking the pass on a player.

    You can check this dynamic in Squad battles, in maximum difficulty. If you don't give enough input information to AI, Ai simply fails.
    All the game is a battle of directions and 'intentions' 80% of the time, but it does give you some manual moments, like when you have no opponent near or in dribbling movements. Succesful players are those who are quickier with the buttons rather than better football thinkers.

    Altough it is obvious that game's core is from 19', Fifa 20 has a lot of new player movements relative to ball control and touch areas, and i don't know if it is a new "equalization" of ball physics or really have new dynamics, but the one thing that is inmediately noticed is that the ball do small bounces which seems a little bit more realistic, and have consequences in your ball control. I have to say that this big nerf to AI defending is good, because you really have to tackle to win the ball, although this always had to be this way, and they didn't in '19 beacuase every play had turned undefendable last year (due to auto passing), anyway defenders are too slow when trying to follow one-two passes and i hope that when they patch this, don't give any "balance" to auto AI defense.

    Finally, i think that EA keeps asking for too much time from players. Besides squad battles, rivals and fut champions, you have to do almost every SBC to get a decent team, otherwise, it is impossible (unless you buy fifa points), plus, every daily and (new) season objectives that you have to get and if not you are left behind. Personally i think that ladder rank it not exciting (in a football game) and they have to get new tournaments, or leagues, or modes that are more related to the real game.
    I think that EA wanting to have a game for all kinds of players, will finally undermine their already bad reputation. Trying to please every player in their probably big Persona book, has hugely increased their community but raised hatred as well. Anyways, they have won enough money to cover 664 times the Camp Nou with a dollar-made sheet (US$4.6B, yes i did the math) so i don't think they worry too much about complaints, and there are plenty of players very happy with this flat skill competition.    … Expand

The ignored a rule changed which allows kickoffs to be inside the 20 yard box... some how they are still license by fifa.     I'm a career player, have been since I can remember. But the career mode has been neglected, it used to be the one of the main core game modes of fifa but it's a shrill contrast to what it used to be.
    I remember the days you could buy a house etc with your earnings, but hey they scrapped that years ago.
    Career is broken, just look online and you'll find countless examples of big teams losing all the time, selling key players, buying the wrong players etc... Don't buy this for the singleplayer experience.

    FUT. Well here is where corporate greed comes in play. I tried it for 1-2 years, but I just dropped it. I am not going to buy a game for 60 euros only to have to buy card packs to get some decent players. You can get some by playing but you'll be outmatched a lot. Maybe if you're a natural you don't need to. But probably 80-90% is not. Not to mention you'll have to sink hours and hours into this to get some good stuff...

    Oh and the good reviews from IGN and other big sites? Either sponsored or in that sites best interest to be positive. Just think about it, Fifa is a major brand. The tournaments, player/team/league sponsorships, world league, ... They are able to control the mainstream media, don't you think otherwise. You can't as a major gaming site give Fifa a 4/10, because millions keep buying it so you only would damage your own credibility. Reviewers have become afraid.

    To summarize: the innovation is at a low point.
    The new VOLTA is just a recycled mode from the fifa street game series. It should be added as an extra mode, not as a selling point. Career is kind of broken but the football gameplay has improved with 10%. If you have a lot of money to spend, yeah you could buy it, but i wouldn't.    … Expand

    Due to the major gameplay gliches, including literally tranparent players, and all the problems with career mode (top teams finishing bottom, press conferenses etc.) the game is literally unplayable. I want a refund.

I’ll start with the positives and there isn’t many, the graphics are decent and the in game physics work well, the passing and crossing is decent but clearly still needs work. The AI players run around like headless chickens not knowing where they’re going, constantly running into each other and making stupid runs offside. On fifa 19 I’d play single player on professional or world class and now I can’t even get a goal on semi pro the shooting is as worse as it’s ever been, 1v1 with the goalkeeper? Try a finesse shot to place it top or bottom corner? No thanks it will go straight to the keepers hands or bounce back off the post!! Try cutting inside from the wing onto the players strong foot? No thanks fifa will just make you take it with the weaker foot and waste a perfectly good chance... don’t even know why I’m wasting my time writing this I’m just going to return fifa and get PES for the first time ever! Know only thing they want it pay to win ' ultimate team' this kind of games are getting worst every single year.. Pls just make a offline fifa for Carrer mode I'm sure still make a lot of money on that

I'm a pot clubs player and I've had to stop playing it, the game play is so sluggish, every pass, shot, sprint etc is misdirected.     Really buggy. For instance, I haven't been able to play any of the training games before a match because the view is of a random part of the training pitch and I can't see the player, let alone what I'm supposed to do. A lot to fix

    Absolute joke of a game. Defending, attacking and AI teammate mechanics in ultimate team are by far the worst I’ve seen in any fifa and I’ve been playing it since fifa 06. EA need to fix this piece of **** game before everyone stops playing it

    This game genuinely feels like a beta. It’s glitchy, sluggish and the UI is ridiculously poor. Not to mention the issues with career mode this year. Couldn’t think of a worse way to spend my money on. I can’t believe people are happy paying for this and then spending more on micro transactions

    Career mode is the only reason I play FIFA. But it's full of buggs. I do like the new updates on gameplay, but without a realistic career mode there is no reason for me to play FIFA.

    Created an account just to show my disappointment in EA. I didn't expect much but stil got let down by EA. The amount of gamebreaking bugs and glitches in career mode are un-excusable, as is the communication and the (lack of) fixes.
    The gameplay is better than ever, but it is sad they lied about and neglected career mode.

    Career Mode is horrendous and beyond repair unless new and realistic additions are made, not just new clothes but some intrinsic value has to be added.
    Not worth wasting my money and time on this game and series anymore. SADLY, fir the first time I have started to think about shifting to PES. What a sad day indeed when a game can disappoint so much after a gamer put so much money and hopes in a game and the developer just stright out ignores everything and is just interested in money and Micro Transactions which will help him pay the marketing team again for the next year.    … Expand

    So many Bugs und Fails, unfortunately you can only use 5000 letters here so i can not get all up but I give a few examples: -In career mode the opponent Plays with the six choice Team (wich leads to the example that the best Teams get relegated) -the old cadres still -Players changes their    Worst FIFA ever.
    The same Gameplay since FIFA17 (which unfortunately everyone expected).
    So many Bugs und Fails, unfortunately you can only use 5000 letters here so i can not get all up but I give a few examples:

    Just as an tip: Buy Fifa19 and safe 30€ or buy PES2020 where you get a much better and much more realistic Gameplay. It's a little bit complicated at the beginning but after a while you willl be completely happy with it. Also EA is under pressure not to lose all the Players and hopefully makes a good game sometime.

    I only play career mode the last couple of years and they didn't do anything cool with it. What they did? They made it buggy and unsatisfying to play to. Hate Volta and FUT. Never ever gonna touch these modern wanna be play modes

    FIFA 20 is a better football simulation in overall compared to FIFA 19, but it’s still lagging behind its main competitor greatly. EA is losing the race to Konami, at least in this generation of consoles, where they used to dominate.
