As it stands, this is a good example of how to do a DLC package.

Driving and customising the buggy is a lot of fun, but not at the expense of tight parkour.

If it's judged only on its atmosphere, weapons, and the amount of killing it portrays from behind the wheel, this expansion hits the bullseye. If Techland can fill in all the bits missing in between, its next project could be something special indeed. [April 2016, p.114]

Plagued by technical issues and a linear, short story The Following can be recommended only to die-hard fans of the original game.

Considering Dead Island 2 may never come out, this is just what I needed to curb my hunger for a great zombie killing game. Probably one of the best expansions ever for a game. I think as of late, most developers have forgotten how to do DLC right, and Techland isProbably one of the best expansions ever for a game. I think as of late, most developers have forgotten how to do DLC right, and Techland is one of the few who understand that DLC is not just bits and pieces that a player doesn't give a c**p about. The Following is huge (maybe the size of Kyrat minus the extensive vertical exploration). The change in setting and map design makes this feel completely different from the main game's maps. The following offers an interesting story with lot of content, and with Main story+free roam+side content, you are looking at about 20-30 hrs of game play. Great value for the money. Full Review »
