Considering Dead Island 2 may never come out, this is just what I needed to curb my hunger for a great zombie killing game. Dying Light was super underrated and this DLC is a fantastic addition. Hats off to Techland - I really hope Dying Light 2 is in the near future!

Probably one of the best expansions ever for a game. I think as of late, most developers have forgotten how to do DLC right, and Techland is one of the few who understand that DLC is not just bits and pieces that a player doesn't give a c**p about. I liked the original Dying Light a lot, but wow… this expansion is basically better and way way way more fun than the original game! The buggy, the night-only hive raids, the story, the huge map. It's just so extremely satisfying!
And raiding fields full of zombies on your buggy is just totally sick! Great game, even better expansion. Wish there was more, but there probably won't be…

ONE thing I didn't like as much is driving around the map. The way it is built it kinda gets annoying to drive from one side of the map to another (mountains getting in the way, or roadblocks…). But really, as annoying as it is, that's one issue I totally wish to forgive because the rest of the game is so damn good.

Probably one of the best games I've played in a long time. Everything about the game is intriguing; from the graphics, to the zombies, to the story and plot, Techland did an amazing job with this one.

Dying Light is by far the best zombie game I have EVER played. It's decently long content and intriguing storyline it never ceases to fail. The Following was just as action packed and as fun as the rest of the game. Although the content wasn't as long as I wanted it to be, it's probably one of the most worthwhile DLC's and altogether games for a long time.

This game makes watching paint dry an exciting drama. I played it in coop in max team of 4. All quests come down to "go to point A to B" and kill or collect something. There is virtually nothing interesting or fun to do. Apart from using the environment, there is very few ways to attack a zombie. I can't believe this "game" has such high score. It's such a disappointment -,- Expand

PS4 version. So game has really great sandbox and I like co-op. Crafting system is great, day-night mechanism is great. Character progression is nice developed. melee weapons crafting is also interesting.
What is wrong - story is terrible and make no sense ( it jumps from state of world where zombie last few weeks to many years). Make completely no sense. Plot is also really poor. Last

Last point is game performance. Average in single player ( good on foot, poor in car when you will face many zombies), terrible in co-op(if you put co-op in game please make it working smooth by reducing graphic, currently it drops below 20 fps quite often).

Dying Light The Following Enhanced Edition

Dying Light The Following Continues the story of Kyle Crane
Not only is this expansion a direct sequel to Dying Light, it’s the conclusion of Kyle Cranes Story
    and there are multiple endings.
The Following does feel like an expansion, but delivered differently and this could have been a full-fledged game…
There is easily over 10 hours of content here.
This expansion takes place in the country side, the map is huge, quests can be thousands of kilometers apart
luckily for you the following introduces a buggy to the game
The buggy has its own skill tree and its own craftable parts…
You get parts and fuel from gas stations and broken down cars…
You get xp by running over zombies and driving fast…
The buggy is a great edition to dying light and makes traversing the country side a blast..
At least while things are close by…
because ultimately the level design makes the buggy gameplay not so fun…
There’s a trophy called “I don’t approve of mindless fun” in the game, and this is apparent with how the world seems like it was designed specifically to slow you down, waste your time, and hinder fun…
You can’t go far until you make it to a bridge clogged with cars, mountains or rivers you can’t drive over or through…
They give you an awesome tool to have fun with then take it away with all of the roadblocks, turning this back into what dying light was... a chore…
The story here is a little weird and based on some sun religion, you’re investigating because they’ve been able to stop infected from turning into zombies, so you want this cure, but to get close to the inner circle you have to help out the children of the sun, aka everyone that lives in the countryside
Side quests are mandatory here, but not all of them.. you get to pick and choose…
This is a little disappointing because some of the side quests I did are tied to characters I cared about and feel like these quests can too easily be missed by non completionists, and that they won’t really get to the meat of the story…
I would have much rather seen a story with no side quests..scrapping the liberating and clearing volatile nests, and just deliver a branching story… which they could have done.. they have all of the quests here to do that…
Had they delivered this way, the following would have ultimately felt like a $60 game rather than just a giant map with some stuff you can check out if you want…
This expansion was so close to matching the level of Dying light for 1/3 of the price
Dying Light The Following can be fun at times,
but techland are against that sort of thing,
I give Dying The Following Enhanced Edition
    a 7.5/10

Good expansion of this great game . You can make very long for the subject of going from side to side , but good for that they put the bugys .
Whether I liked more than the game, because at least this is a fitting end with a boss battle .
Recommended if you like Dyin Light .

The Following is great piece of DLC for people who enjoyed the base game. It add's a brand new map, enemies, weapons and a buggy which you can upgrade along with other things. The story in the base game was good for a zombie but wasn't something I would sell to people about the game. The story in The Following is much better and I personally enjoyed it much more. The Following is a good DLC to a game that we've all been waiting to have a big add-on ever since last year. This is a developer that spoils the customers with awesome content and support. This expansion is a full 10 out of 10 for me. When it came out, I would have marked the game as a 7 out of 10, but with the new enhanced edition it raised to a solid 9/10.

An excellent compliment to the original game. The following trades in city parkour focused gameplay for fast driving and open fields. The buggy itself is fun to customize and is fully upgradeable it is also very destroyable which makes it challenging and much more rewarding.

You know the game Americas Army wich was made for training reasons? I have a feeling that Dying Light was developed to prepare and train us for Zombie Apocalypse! Anyone can explain why so many zombies? They want us to prepare for everything;)

An average game with a good ending but driving gets boring fast. The car gets tedious and boring fast and the main point of the game was the parkour and fluid movement without it you're left with just another tedious zombie game, will probably never touch this again

The Following doesn't use the strengths of the game's base and structure to accomplish its goals. Rather it tries to do a new concept and in doing so hurts what little originality it has. Credit where it's due though the driving in the expansion is enjoyable and can be entertaining when playing with friends, but the issues also crop up with the buggies themselves. Credit where it's due though the driving in the expansion is enjoyable and can be entertaining when playing with friends, but the issues also crop up with the buggies themselves. Much like weapons, cars have to be maintained and repaired as you trek through the expansions open areas. While this can be seen as a more immersive quality that tries to be realistic, it inadvertently creates more frustrations and taxes the players patience then they would like.

The story of the base game was flawed a great deal, having the cliche checklist for its characters, plot, writing and pacing, so having an expansion is a great second chance to make the story better. Unfortunately, the story is terrible. It builds a fairly interesting premise as you become more useful to the cults and groups you help but that slaps the player with a choice that ultimately undermines the entire game's plot in the end. Now I'm aware people are more interested on killing zombies and collecting things, but The Following struggles greatly on making its environment work to its full potential. The vast fields compared to the over abundance of buildings and houses in Harran makes it feel hollow. The update for your vehicle and legendary stats are welcoming, but this far in on a taxing game already that it feels more of a chore than fun to get better abilities by grinding the areas.

The Following is a decent expansion overall with friends and mediocre by yourself. It's just a shame that it sits in the realm of mediocrity because it could've been a huge wake up call for the game's base and seeing this as a follow up honestly puts me off by it then I would like. If you are a huge zombie extremist in this day and age than you will enjoy this regardless. For everyone else, it's price isn't worth following through with.

A truly fun well made zombie game. Gameplay is very responsive and rewarding especially when you're fully upgraded. Co-Op is implemented seamlessly and the more in your game the more fun it is. I've played this game to it's completion twice and every part of it never failed to entertain me. DLC is also a hoot too.

If it's judged only on its atmosphere, weapons, and the amount of killing it portrays from behind the wheel, this expansion hits the bullseye. If Techland can fill in all the bits missing in between, its next project could be something special indeed. [April 2016, p.114]
