    If you liked Life is Strange, the Walking Dead and Heavy Rain, you've probably already bought this game and know as well as I do that anything less than a 10/10 is an insult to this masterpiece. This is an instant classic that will be mentioned on all lists of the best story-driven games ever produced, the quality of animations, dialogues, presentation and world-building is phenomenal,If you liked Life is Strange, the Walking Dead and Heavy Rain, you've probably already bought this game and know as well as I do that anything less than a 10/10 is an insult to this masterpiece.     Oh God, actually I am native Russian speaker, and to write this comment I push myself to learn English. Guys, its amazing game and it’s highly weird that no awards were given to such masterpiece. My opinion that part of game budget just was not shared with critics giving the game an average score.
    In a nutshell, just buy it, play it, enjoy it!     dont listen to the bad reviews they are just haters who dont understand what a classy game his.
    this is by far better then heavy rain and looks goregous.
    if you like games like that you should buy it and play it if not just dont buy it.

If you didn't like Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls, you may buy a different game because this is similar but better in all the possible ways. Graphics are stunning (probably as good as graphics in Uncharted 4 or even better). The plot is good and keeps you interested in the characters and makesWhat can I say about this game? I just have wished and ending with more scenes or things but it's still a great game. I think it shouldn't deserve less than a 9. This game is short, it took me no more than 12 hours but this kind of games can't be much longer than this. I don't know, there are moments that you have to choose between difficult choises and you get attached to the characters. I lost some characters just before the end and although I think you can repeat some parts of the story I think I'll just replay this game in some days or months. Just read some other reviews and decide if this game is meant for you. Personally, I just wish there were more games like this one.… Expand

When the reviews came out, a day before launch, it didnt get the amazing scores God Of War or Horizon Zero Dawn got, it was around an 80 on metacritic. So I just expected game to be good, not great or amazing, but I was wrong. This game deserves higher scores. The graphics are beatiful, the story is well written and the characters actuallyI never expected this game to be that amazing. They also added more gameplay elements, which i loved, specially the detective gameplay. The game features 3 main characters, i got favorite chapters from all 3 of them. The only thing that i wouldve liked is an optikn to turn off motion blur and film grain.… Expand

    This videogame is unique that manages to give emotions from the first moments of play. The technical sector is exceptional, a bit subdued in some moments but the narration is unique.     Detroit: Become Human's plot is not the most unique, but it tells it in such an interesting way that it is hard not to become invested. If you are looking for a game with amazing gameplay, this is not it. You do not play this game for the gameplay, you play it for the story and the characters. Some of the games greatest strengths are how well it fleshes out the story of its world, Detroit, and how it presents the city. The presentation of this game is on another level. The cinematography, the graphics and facial detail on all the character models are some of the best in gaming. Where the game really shines though is in its choices and branching storylines. The game has an enormous range of choices and outcomes, meaning you will most likely have a very different experience from other players. There are multiple endings, you can save all the characters, let them all die, or any combination in between. Its greatest weakness is in some of its endings. Odds are if you get one of the bad endings, you will not be satisfied with it. But thats okay, because the game is designed for you to replay it and make different choices to see how things could have played out differently. If you achieve one of the good endings, the story is much more rewarding and satisfying. In the end, if you come into the game expecting an immersive character driven story with fantastic presentation and player choice, you will be blown away.… Expand

    The game’s story was a roller coaster. The choices in this game were very intense that they make you question your morality to shape the future of you and the characters that can lead to any sort of ending depending on your choices. Also the pacing of the story is so perfect that it never has a dull moment because the Quantic Dream has managed to pull of on of the most gripping stories IThe game’s story was a roller coaster. Once you start playing this video game you will never get your hands off the controller as you want to see more and more off what’s going to happen in the story and how will your choices affect other characters. The game has one of the best story telling ever this year, it may even surpass god of war in terms of story. David Cage has managed to pull one of if not one of the best interactive story games ever. The best part of the story for me was the building up the relationship between Kara and Alice who ran away from their owner (Todd) who abused them and tried to kill them. The reason it was the best part for me because the bonding between Kara and Alice brought me into tears and it was very heart wrenching as the story progresses you tend to care more about their lives because their bonding becomes more important as the story progresses. The more you progress the game the more emotional you will feel as you feel sorry for Kara and Alice to face the world alone just to be free from discrimination and giving the best life possible for Alice. For Kara nothing else matters but to protect Alice and be her mother figure.

    Marcus was an android who later became the leader of Jericho and wanted to free his people from slaver to become the masters. He was similar to the likes of Martin Luther king jr, if you chose the pacifist path and you have the option to chose the violent path but will endanger people around and will destroy public’s opinion.

    Connor was an android send by Cyber life who wanted to investigate why did the deviants start emulating human emotional as he progress the investigation here may question his morality than does he want to betray his creators by joining the side of the deviants or destroy the deviants it depends on your choices.

    The story in my opinion is the best this year because you can change the future depending on your actions and can change the opinions of the public and the deviants in Jericho all which can lead them to be saved or sacrificed for the greater good of freedom for the androids who were suppressed by the humanity by treating them like slaves rather than living beings. To me it’s considered to be Quantic dreams finest work yet and so the game deserves a 10+ for me.    … Expand

    This is an thinking persons game, and obvisouly isn’t for the average high school dropout who sits around 12 hours a day playing trash like COD and Destiny, abuising the f**k out of each other and call that gaming.

    if you liked heavy rain you will love detroit ignore negative reviews Detroit BH is one of the best games you can experience on ps4, both it's narrative and graphics are magnificent. it's so exciting and emotional it's not flawless but it totally worths playing

    I rounded up the 9.5/10 I would have given it. Just a fantastic experience, and whilst I may not get my usual preference of £1 per hour ratio those 12 hours or so I've had were some of the best of any of my gaming experiences.

    Its still a David Cage game, so if you don't like them, just avoid it. For us who like them, we get the best yet.

    Detroit is not a game, at least in terms we are familiar with, which we are used to discuss about games. This is a real director's masterpiece, it feels like some cool HBO series, but with the only difference is that YOU decide what will happen next, which of the heroes will die and who will leave on the bus to the tearful happy end.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Quantic Dream is mainly known for Heavy Rain which is mostly loved. An impressive achievement for the game that is incomplete because of cut content and thus integral parts of the story missing as well as the plotholes and red herings in the game itself.
    Detroit, however, does not come close to feeling as incomplete as HR. I loved Beyond Two Souls a lot and three years ago when I watched the trailer of Detroit I immediately thought "wow, THIS could be even more liked by me than Beyond" which really means something because I totally love Beyond.
    Now here's the thing: Having played it Day 1 I immediately rushed through the story in one session. And I definitely love it and enjoyed it. I just can hardly dislike a story about AI. The problem is Detroit feels very, very much like, even though it is complete, it has so much missed potential. It is like some warmed-up food or the same kind of food that you cook always the same or even if you change the recipe you barely change it at all. Really giving this same topic a new spin by spicing things up could have added a lot more to the effect, the narrative and the entertainment.
    To be honest, I do not appreciate that the game has to be some sort of Heavy Rain or Fahrenheit clone. I do not need x characters that switch back and forth between chapters. It breaks the immersion for one specific character for me. This is where I think Beyond scored. Also Detroit has even more of a clone-like feeling when you just have to play another room cleaning simulator or have at least one more police man character or something similiar just to once more bring in investigation and action scenes. And of course the predictable "insane guy with an insane cellar". We had that in the previous games already. I would have appreciated more diversity. Especially when it comes to the narration - first of all I think it would have been better to just have one character and make the other two important characters that your character interacts with and they influence each other during the story. Take Kara and make Markus and Connor important NPCs would be my recommendation (which obviously will not be a thing as the game is finished already but that is what I would have done for the immersion and for not always disrupting the narrative flow and growing attached to a certain character). Sure, when you play the other two you might feel you know them better than having them as NPCs but more me this hardly works because I rather have one where the focus is not lost. And Kara seemed perfect for that. The narration itself leads to a really sweet, dramatic and tragic story but that is what was talking about earlier: It is nice but there could have been so much more. A much more epic story. I was missing something like not a machine that just did his job but a deviant that even as a deviant was ALWAYS in the story going to bother you. Or Kara who as mentioned should have just had more contact with the other characters. Of course as she was one specific android who was just minding her own business she was not part of the revolution but I think they could have easily met earlier and even with minding her own business she could have influence the others with her way of thinking and care for Alice. I will not bother mentioning narration problems/plotholes now because those are not all that bad. What I really think of as sad is, while the score is good, I think that is where Detroit really falls short. You really were able to feel the intensity of Norman Corbeil's (RIP) and Hans Zimmer's work i the previous games. This game however has pretty much only 2 tracks for me that I think of as really good and the others are just like "running in the background".
    Now when it comes to the story itself - what can I say? I am a person that still can be gotten with goodm old cliché stories like the parent-child story so of course I absolutely adored the story of Kara and Alice. Alice is totally adorable and it was pretty much from the get-go clear that Kara was my favourite character in the game. The way they interact and then later Luther together with them is just something that I always enjoy, no matter in which story it is - so that is one of the themes in stories where not much has to be changed for me - even though the plottwist really was no plottwist. You saw it coming from a mile away. There is actually some weird character problem with Kara when it comes to that "twist" because the byproduct message seems weird in a game like this but I guess I can live with it because the main message is the really important thing.

    Overall it is a really great, a fantastic game. However - I wish there would have been a lot more of what I saw this game could be from the mere topic itself. I doubt it can push Beyond or LIS off the throne of cinematic movie games for me but maybe after a while it will share place. Still great game though some questions are unnecessary because of Computer Science and Psychology.    … Expand

    The best work! The best game ever congratulations !! Beautifully. Enjoyed so much that made me played 3 times. Everything is so intense which made me feel in the movie.

    Amazing visuals and a gripping story. By far the best David Cage game yet. If you like a narrative based single player structure where choices actually matter this game is for you. Yes, the quick time is an irritating feature of his games, but you get used to it. For those who like this type of game, HIGHLY recommend.,

If you like a good story, or if imagine how the world will looks like in a few decades, if you are sci-fi fantasy And wonder how artificial intelligence might evolve, there Is no better place to be then in Detroit.     I’m only about 6-8 hours in but this game deserves some praise! Absolutely incredible motion capture and acting. The story is fascinating. I can’t pick a thing wrong with this game if you love a strong story focused adventure. Why it didn’t receive higher scores is beyond me.

    Detroit is very much a video game and while no it is not the type of game you see every day that does not make it bad just... different. Detroit is a game created by the aggressively French David Cage and like all his other games if you are expecting fast paced action or a 40-hour story then you done F-ed up. Cage's games are made so that the player immerses themselves in the world and tries not to break immersion even for mundane task. His previous works include Heavy Rain (Great game with issues) and Beyond Two Souls (terrible game with issues). Detroit is his latest work and is the most technically improved game yet.

    1. Graphics - Starting with the games biggest strong point is its graphics. Everything is stunning from the facial animations to the cityscapes to the thread count on the characters jackets. Things look as close to photo realistic in this game as they could be. My wife not knowing I was playing a game walked by during a cutscene and thought i was watching an episode of greys anatomy cause of Jesse Williams. Visuals cant be beat.

    2. Story. The story is good but not great. This is a good setting and premise but there are alot a political boxes checked off that break immersion because you are slapped in the face by slavery allegories or "hands up dont shoot" references. This game was definitely written for the USA political climate of 2018. I dont know if it will age well but I can say as i was playing the game I enjoyed it. If you try to think to hard about all the real world politics involved THAT is what will make you enjoy the game less. If you sit down and enjoy the story for what it is with all the chases, heist, investigations, and daring escapes then you will have a good time. Remember its a game; have fun.

    Main characters are the games strong suits. I loved Kara and her maternal instincts, Marcus was alittle stiff but I attribute that more to Jesse Williams than to the writing (Sorry Jesse). My favorite character was Brian Decharts Connor. He and Clancy Brown made an awesome duo.

    3. Mechanics. The mechanics were not that of an average video game. This is not an action game so I wish people would stop criticizing it for not being. What it is and an amalgam for and old point and click adventure and quick time events mixed with story driven choose your own adventure dialogue. In other words its very David Cage. The mechanics were alot smoother than in his previous games and while I do wish the characters could sprint sometimes when going from point A to B i am not complaining because the whole game has been carefully crafted for presentation.

    Conclusion: 10/10 when I appreciate it for what it is. Must Buy

    PS: After every chapter log out to the main menu to interact with Chloe. It is a big part of the experience that you can miss if you are not careful.    … Expand

    For ppl who only care about crazy gameplay like God of War or Nier Automata, this game is prolly not for you. This game isn't about its gameplay, it's about everything else. The writing (which could be autistic at some points but mostly on point), the visuals and soundtrack and most importantly the story.

    when I got Detroit: Become Human, I was afraid that with the 3 characters and all of the different branching paths that they appeared to be making, I thought that the game would be crushed by It's own weight perhaps by being to confusing with to many plot points and not doing anything interesting.

    The "critics" that have rated this as negative does not have the cognitive ability to make the right decisions in-game. How could anyone bash such a masterpiece? It's appalling. I would recommend this to gamers who have a strong sense of intuition and logic.

I love the soundtrack to this game. It is amazing. With having the multiple choices you can explore the different sides of the story.
    I have been playing this game since it came out and it has captured my attention and my heart. The game is wonderfully designed and has brought all different emotions out in me.     This game is a masterpiece. Yes QTEs are annoying and a lot of people seem strangely triggered and melting their snowflakes about the story being a bit too "SJW" to their tastes while they grasp at straws trying to make parallels to current day events about whatever their fears are. As far as I'm concerned, it's their problem and their loss.

    It sports a thought provoking story worthy of Asimov's legacy. If you think this is about current day whatever in your persecution of SJW fantasies and hallucinations, you seriously have issues and need to take LOTS of steps back from current day politics. You drank WAY TOO MUCH KOOL-AID and need to sober up and calm the heck down.

    The story has nothing to do with current day events, it's GREAT anticipation sci-fi about AIs, Robots and how we're going to treat our creations when the time comes and they might develop more than what we thought they would, transcending their programming.

    A well deserved 10, I'll be recommending this one warmly for years to come to my fellow gamer friends.

    Wow this game was incredible. I'm a big fan of Heavy Rain and this one blew it out of the water completely (especially in the voice acting part of it). Detroit also has the best graphics you've ever seen. There were absolutely no frame rate issues. The gameplay and action events were perfect, not too easy but also busy enough to keep you on your toes. The story was very compelling and IWow this game was incredible. But all my worries gone after a couple of hours playing this masterpiece. The emotions this game gives you are unforgettable and i really don’t understand why it’s score is so low.     Incredibly interesting and completely breathtaking game, I just finished one of the endings today and I can't wait to get on to another playthrough where I'll have a chance to explore other parts of the game by taking a different route, which this game allows for one to do.

    I don't know what's going on with David Cage and all the negative reviews about him, but I'm having a great time with Detroit. Granted; this is my first time playing a game like this. I feel Detroit is close to a 9, but decided to 10 to counter balance against all the auto negative reviews on here.

    Truly one of the most beautiful games I have laid my hands on. The stories are so engaging you wont want to put the controller down, the visuals are almost near perfect and the score is unbelievably amazing to listen to. We need more writers like David Cage. This is truly a fantastic game.

    Another great exclusive Playstation game that is deeply moving and meaningful. It's a very immersive story. The sound and the graphics are amazing. You can feel the love the Devs had for this game. I cannot wait to see what else this studio has in store for us in the future. This game is a work of art.

    The game has already payed of for the prices, I'm 4-5 hours plus an hour or two in extra content and I'm SLOOOOWLY playing, this is better than heavy rain, cages best writing yet even though still tad short of being great writing. It ticks every box for the genre, adds more to it and then wraps it up in an extremely pretty package.

    It's the first game like this since HR that I've wanted to explore everything, read everything and slowly stroll through the enviroments. It's also the first game to give me agency in a way that I can roleplay.

    Even, Chloe the menu bot which I had a 1 hour staring at her micro expressions and as you can clearly see they designed her to animate like a robot in some places other aspects are more human than anything I've seen in gaming. Oh and the extras in this game are among the best collectibles I've seen in a game.

    I was very iffy on buying into this as these types of games have worn me out but this title has rejuvinated my love for the genre or at least is giving me a boost in the same way Until dawn did, after so many bland tell tale games.

    If you liked until dawn, Indigo prophecy or heavy rain, you'll like this. Even Tell talers or fans of the life is strange will be blown away by this.

    This game will get a lot of hate because it doesn't do "gameplay" in the way people assume gameplay should be, as if it was written in some rule book. But games would be boring if they were all the same. I personally like this genre of gaming, and this is a must play if you're in to story/choice driven click and point games.

If I had to give it a complaint it would simply be I want more, at only 8 hours long it might be a bit short for some, that said there is enormous replay potential, if you want to see all the branchingBest game for a long time :) I'm absolutely blown away by this game.     Simply Breathtaking. This is one of the most impressive storytelling games of all time! I loved every moment of this game and the fact that one wrong turn can destroy basically everything or improve something that you did wrong. It gets so emotional sometimes i actually tried to hold tears in, it's simply amazing. 10/10

    I have been playing it since it came out, and looking forward to it for years. It exceeded my expectations by ten fold (And I had high hopes and expectations). I love this game genre and I could not be prouder of Quantic Dream. This is a masterpiece to me, and I rate it a 10/10.

    Wonderful journey with this game. I personally was fascinated by the empathy and the implication we can have playing this "game". The best Quantic Dream game so far !!!

    Quantic Dream vuelve a hacerlo y se marca un señor juego, con una historia adulta pero muy bien guionizada, una aspecto realista muy cinematográfico, unos personajes muy carismáticos (sobre todo sus secundarios) y en definitiva una obra de arte. Además supone un soplo de aire fresco entre tanto juego clónico.

    I'm absolutely blown away by this game. The graphics are jaw dropping, as is the world building. The story is pretty good and can be exciting a lot of the time. If I had to give it a complaint it would simply be I want more, at only 8 hours long it might be a bit short for some, that said there is enormous replay potential, if you want to see all the branching paths the game will take 30I'm absolutely blown away by this game.     I gotta this first of all, this is the best looking game on the Playstation 4 in terms of realism in graphics, I can't believe even the base PS4 can run this game with these high end graphics and stuff. Story wise I think its more entertaining then their pervious installment such as Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls, If you wanna play a game that can pull you into its world, definitely get this.

    Detroit: Become Human delivers a story with a ton of possible choices, and a lot of questions for a player to bear afterward. If you like it when games make you think about them after you play them, this is the game for you. Stunning visuals and music score, make you forget about some weaker points of the game. But all in all, it is an enjoyable experience you should not miss.

    Detroit: Become Human looks and sounds great, and includes key player choices throughout, though it could have benefited greatly from a tighter script. While it’s commendable that Quantic Dream tried to cover hot-button issues in a big-budget video game, it works better when focused on the personal character moments than the bigger themes that don’t dig deep enough to make a meaningful impact.

    Although the narrative is fairly linear, there are enough branching paths over the course of the game to make it feel like your actions matter. That allows Detroit to still be fun even on multiple playthroughs – and for an interactive movie, that’s a rare praise. [Issue#231, p.68]
