Oct 7, 2017Underwhelming in every way. Bought the game back in 2014. Played it once, put it on top of my shelf and left it there for several months and forgot about its existence. Vanilla Destiny was like that girl who looked cute, but then you see how uninteresting and tiresome her personality really is, and you regret that you ever had anything to do with her to begin with...

May 3, 2022This game is just really boring and tedious. Story is forgettable and gunplay is average. Did not have fun with this disappointment of a video game.

Sep 9, 2014repetitive and uninspiring. I played the beta and was on the fence with this game but decided to buy it anyway hoping perhaps it would improve on release. It really fails to live up to its hype, I can't see this FPS lasting.

Dec 17, 2014This is the biggest gaming disappointment I have ever experienced. I purchased a PS4 to play this game, I pre-ordered the digital guardian edition with the season pass so I could play it as soon as it came out.
And all I got was this stupid grind. -
Mar 15, 2015BLUF: "I don't have time to explain" is a quote from the game during a so-called story moment in a cut-scene. My low opinion: There is no actual storytelling in the game, so the excellent visuals and good gun-play mechanics mean nothing as you cannot emotionally invest yourself in a world which doesn't care to ever explain.... ANYTHING.

Sep 9, 2014Fun at first for maybe a few minutes but everything about this game is repetitive. The scenery and graphics are the only positive for me and even those aspects don't break any new ground.

Sep 14, 2014it's always full to look at the profiles of people scoring this 10/10, most of them seem to have a singular review, for this game in particular - nothing suspect about that. Destiny is the prime example of what happens when business men try to play pretend as creatives, spending more on marketing than actual product and think that terrible one-liners equals good gameplay.

Sep 23, 2014It's a sign of BAD decisions ruled by marketing and hype arround videogames. Everything from bullshots, gameplayless teasers, downgraded graphics, DLC and lack of polish is included, Is this the evolution of gaming?

Sep 11, 2014Not sure where all the money was spent, maybe marketing? but the next big thing aaa game its definitely not. Borderlands ugly sister is what it is, a boring shooter that will easily be forgotten very quickly. Back to bf4 then i suppose. sigh.

Sep 10, 2014Another great marketing work, and like Watch Dogs, another mediocre game sold like a masterpiece.
Gameplay is ok, but its repetivenss and shot of varieties sentenced this game from the start. -
Sep 9, 2014Talk about OVERHYPED!! to say this game was a disappointment is an understatement.....terrible Borderlands clone that isnt anywhere near as good or fun as Borderlands.......the game is just simply not fun & overal very boring......still in disbelief i wasted £55 quid on this game

Sep 12, 2014Good graphics, easy controls (work nicely for non FPS regulars).
Shallow story, limited game mechanics, no environment interaction, repetitive gameplay, no split-screen multiplayer.
Only excuse to play this game is that there aren't any other good sci-fi shooters on PS4 currently. -

Sep 9, 2014very short campaign for an MMO, Borderlands does not compare to the halo, too bad to play on a joystick, game I put a lot of expectations on this game expecting a new halo was no more anything.

Nov 25, 2014Although Destiny isn't the brilliant start to a franchise that many had hoped for, it's a great game for those who can push through its flaws and enjoy the ride.

Edge MagazineNov 5, 2014What is most amazing of all is that despite its litany of weird little problems, Destiny is fantastic, its combat up there with the very best, the thrilling rhythm of its battles still not fading the 30th time through, and it has no single systemic problem that is not fixable. Pelit (Finland)Oct 25, 2014Destiny is a flawed but still extremely fun first person shooter. While the Destiny universe itself seems intriguing, the storyline is told in such an incoherent manner that it's hard not to be turned off by all the technobabble. Fortunately the co-op shooter mechanics are absolutely perfect. The loot system can be maddening, but in a way it adds to the game's addictiveness. [Oct 2014]
