First reaction to the game is .... nice finally a story !
A few hours in the game .... shouldn't this have been in destiny 1
few more hours into the game .... they ruined everything that was good in destiny 1 but kept the crappy stuff
few more hours ... go to the store and get a refund :)

This is DLC now a new game ...

New shader system is awful. It was awesome and working just fine in Destiny 1 why did you have to change it? Because you want more money of course. So much damn potential wasted.
This is just Destiny 1 Cabal DLC re-purposed to be Destiny 2, so they could fulfill there contractual obligations. Nothing new was added to this game it's just Destiny 1 .
Still no story. No expanded character creator. Enemies lack brain capacity to even shot their guns, let alone use some freaking tactics. Exotic gear is so plentiful why the hell do you

Still no story. No expanded character creator. Enemies lack brain capacity to even shot their guns, let alone use some freaking tactics. Exotic gear is so plentiful why the hell do you even call it exotic. The epic music plays at the weird most dull moments where nothing is happening. **** that was free in Destiny 1 now cost money to get. Bosses are still massive bullet sponges. Shooting is still smooth. So if you want a mindless shooter to kill some time and chill with buds, I'd get Call of Duty WW2.

Honestly after playing the Taken King I thought they got it together, but boy did they seriously dropped the ball again. If you loved Destiny 1, this is the game for you because it's just a Destiny 1 expansion, minus any expansion on the story about the darkness and light cause **** plot.

I really wanna understand how Bungie made Halo and fell so far in terms of innovation, creativity, story/character development and just went and died. Here is a tip if you are unsure about this game, wait until the game comes out at 40$ with all the dlc included.

This game, at it's core is good. It's just every thing else is just mediocre. I do have to give a hand to bungie though they did fix a bunch of core flaws of the first game such as grenades. If you didn't like the first one I wouldn't recommend this at all but if you spent countless hours on the first destiny and aren't burned out, this is a solid installment in the destiny franchise

I am a fan of Destiny but I cannot in no shape or form recommend this game.. No Excuses, It is essentially the another DLC 'the Cabal' and not a complete game... More Storyline but more questions unanswered.. I am not waiting or paying for DLC to come, that should be included already... Long story short this is Destiny 1 "Reloaded"

Und der mute / und probably / hero mit einem nidrigem level von inteligence ? Wahrum ist in der Spiel keine wirklich interesante Person ? Wozu das alles ? Einzige Antwort : Geld, mehr und mehr . After 2 weeks with the game, I'm rather disappointed. On the surface everything has been adjusted. On the surface everything has been adjusted. The reboot and losing your Light/Subclasses was rather pointless when you can re-obtain them within a few hours. There is no real struggle in this game. The subclass storyline quests were quick and rather dull, unlike when they released the new 3 Subclasses in the original game. Lore is hidden even more now. Without the Grimoire to reference, there's really nothing here except a few paragraphs of nonsense regarding certain armor. Considering to get the most out of the game, many players will level up 3 characters (one of each class). There should have been alternate confrontations for each class to make the storyline a little more compelling, but once again your character is just another mute protagonist getting told what to do via Radio. The Vanguard characters were teased to have a bigger role in the story did absolutely nothing. I was expecting for them to fight beside them in this so-called struggle for Humanity, yet they only showed up for small scripted cameos.

The Enemies are exactly the same. AI hasn't changed and while there are a couple of new abilities and types of enemies, they all deal with you the exact same way. The only "challenge" is the Nightfall strike and it's Prestige version and the only difference is that the enemies non-stop shoot at you, have more health and you take more damage. The Modifiers are interesting, but just add only a few new mechanics that don't really offer to much of a challenge.

Public Events are quite often and easy to access, however there is no change to the encounters (with the exception of triggering the Heroic modifier). Strikes are fun, however not worth the time in terms of rewards. There are no strike exclusive gear to obtain. The amount of Duplicate Legendaries and Exotic gear is unheard of. While some of the gear will help you level up your power, you're completely stuck at times when that engram isn't the desired slot you wanted.

Crucible is a mixed bag. If you enjoy team shooting, then this might be for you, but it gets old real quick. Trials of the Nine Matchmatching is a joke. Being paired against players who went Flawless already should not happen. There should be brackets. There is no competition when an Amateur goes against a Professional in any Sport/competition, so why allow it here? Bungie pushing towards ESports is an utter joke. This game will never be taken seriously in any competitive community.

Lastly, the Raid. The one thing that Destiny has in terms of PVE content over other shooters and unfortunately, the Leviathan does not deliver. As a flagship Raid for the sequel, I find the Raid rather disappointing. Only one Boss encounter really bothered me and those who I raid with. I have completed the Raid 7 times since release and never feel satisfied. While the confrontations cycle per week is refreshing, the gear rewards are sub-par and I'm experiencing multiple duplicates already (4 hunter cloaks, 4 Assault Rifles, 2 Sniper Rifles, 3 SMG). The Underbelly of the Leviathan is interesting at first, but then you realize that it is a timesink just to open chests that you earned throughout the Raid. Not to mention you only receive more tokens and a chance for an Exotic (that you probably already have).

This is an expensive Expansion, not a true sequel. The Honeymoon is over and now there's really nothing to do other than Nightfalls and weekly "Milestones" which are the exactly same quests just in different areas. Quality of life has improved, yet there are many steps backwards. The Vault is a mess and mods are implemented poorly. There should have been an in game tutorial regarding Legendary mods and how they boost power level to your gear. If they focused on 60 FPS on consoles, then I'd consider this a sequel, but this is more of the same. Polished, yet soulless.

If you're wondering, I am a 303 Warlock, 304 Hunter, 303 Titan. Destiny 1 Alpha player from Day 1, beat all Challenge mode Raids in D1, Flawless in Trials of Osiris multiple times. Fan of the game, but not sure I'm going to jump through the hoops again hoping the game will improve. If there is 6-7 more years of this, I'm probably going to tap out after the Season pass of D2 ends. This is ultimately not worth your time hoping that the Universe was going to be an MMO. I ask those who rated this high after the first few hours they put into game: Does the game still give you that excitement after just 2 weeks? Yes, there are some hidden secrets probably not found yet, but overall, this game has fall flat already.

Calling it Destiny 2 is a bit of a head scratcher. The story mission aren't plentiful enough to even get you to max level, you have to do other missions or public events at certain points in the game as you will not meet the level requirements to proceed with the super limited story. There are the same old patrol missions as Destiny 1, and now they have the adventure missions, which are essentially just patrol missions that involve killing X, collecting X, go to X etc. The strikes aren't any more interesting than the original ones in Destiny 1. The crucible has arguably be lessened by the 4 v 4play type with smaller maps. No new character classes have been made in the 3 years since the original. Some of the new planets are very small and have no real reason to go to once the story missions are completed. Also, why the hell aren't there quick change weapon load outs? What about using one of the D-pad buttons to change to an alternate loadout so you dont have to go into the menu and do it in the middle of a boss fight? I suppose that would take away one of the emote buttons, but what an awesome thing that would be.

Sure there is quick travel now, but why the hell wasn't there in the first game? It's nothing to celebrate something that has been industry standard for years and years. It's not a plus, it's just not a minus now. Weapon types are essentially the same but now your weapons dont level up with use, again something i dont really like and feels like it detracts from the rpg level up elements. They still don't have proper in game group finding for raids or nightfalls, you can now tag along with a guild group who is looking for another player to fill their ranks.

Overall calling this game a sequel is a pretty tough pill to swallow. It doesn't bring anything new to the table and feels very half assed. If you haven't played the original Destiny then pick that up on the cheap and enjoy the game.

I enjoy it. But in some ways it's like being kicked in ya meatballs. I want to spend eight hours working on my game and I like it when I'm grinding in a game or on a confused grad student.

I wish the enemies didn't sponge quite so much, though it's better than before. And I also wish my dam neighbor would TURN DOWN the dam hip hop. It's crap music and always will be.

    Hello microtransaction.

If a game ask player to pay money to skip playing the game and get that thing naturally, it means the developer believe that their game is not good enough for player to actually play for enjoyment and give player option to skip it.

The money spent on this game is better spent at a strip club.

Lesser of a game than the first one. Features gone and its a glorified, overpriced DLC; they went backwards. The same people that would buy this and give it a good review are probably the same people that would pay $1000 for the new iPhone, sheep and fanboys.

The clan integration makes the online aspect much more engaging if you don't have people you know playing online. The gun play has always been, and still is amazing, as is expected from a Bungie title. If you liked aspects of Destiny, than you will love this game. Graphics are improved, there is an actual story now, and there is always something to do. With Destiny 1 it was a sit and wait game on planets, now you can teleport around to get to activities faster. The nightfall strikes are much more entertaining with timers that force you finish them quickly or be ejected to orbit to start over. It is more of the same, but what sequel, or expansion, isn't. The amount of quality of life improvements is enough to keep you coming back for more.

It seems that all the low reviews are complaining about micro-transactions and calling it pay to win have not played this game. The micro-transaction items are shaders, sparrows, and weapon ornaments. Nothing that you can buy with real money is going to give you an advantage in the game. Anything that can be bought with real money can be earned in the game and again, it's only cosmetic items.

No new enemies, classes, etc. Shorter story campaign than the TTK expansion, less strikes than the TTK expansion. This is not a sequel. it is an expansion. Story and cutscenes are worst I've seen for a AAA game and it's sad that Bungie moved backwards with their IP instead of doing something truly unique and interesting. Still a good shooter, but is a bigger disappointment.

Crucible is fun but areas are also mostly copy-pasted with only a little new stuff. And grinding same type of missions is sometimes frustrating because all you need is luck to get better gear, hardly based on skill at all - except Nightfall's and Raids but luck is also present there.

    1
the campaign sucks, the voice lines suck, and most of all, the way you are presented is so overtuned its laughable, i played this game since its out, and i want to resell it, sadly its already not worth it anymore.

    2
    events and dropps,
loot will at some level no longer be good, 260 as a powerlevel, will become hell for you
you will rott there until you reach 280. it took me 4 days to reach 277, from 260. just saying you reach that point after 2-3 days.

the events suck, are ALWAYS the same events, at the exact same place, with the exact same svoice lines from npcs,
sometimes ppl leave the planet, means out of 6 ppl on the planet, you are alone. nobody joins it. you MUST reload the planet. which takes me

    3
loading times are insane, i had several moments when i was in 5 minute loading screens, finish a mission, go to the quest guy, 1 minute, 2 minutes to finish that, then yu must go somewhere else, which takes you forever, then you leave the city, you are in a loading screen, 1 minute, you need to run there somewhere, and so on. you basicly do nothing for great stretches of time

    4
    rewards
they suck, the only rewards that do not suck, are some exos that you get from missions. so 3-4 are good.
you wont get most of the time, the things you need, you will get TONNS of duplicates from exos from engramms, i talk about getting the exact same exo ( legendary in other games) two to up to endless times,
my record is getting the fking PROMO weapon i got from a code, for FIVE times
i got the item that should NOT drop five fking tmes.

    5
    the missions are a joke,
there are literaly missions that are, go there, stand there for 3-4 minutes, go make yourself some tea
you do not defend, you do not do anything, you stand there and it loads a, scanning meter,
    no enemys, nothing

and every event is the same, its ALWAYS either of 2 things, defend this, or kill this. mostly both in one mission
so, defend this drill, then kill this guy,
defend the loader, then kill this guy,,
defend this circle, kill the guy that spawns,

every planet has this. and its a chore.

multiplayer is okay, some things are rly unfair, but all in all its okay and the ONLY fun part of the game... if you got the loot for it...
well, there are ppl with auto aiming granades, that will instamurder you... but that rarely happnes.

    6 always online
due to the poor mission matchmaking, ... basicly non existent, you play if you dont have real life or pre game friends, nobody to play this game with, so you are solo
... also the planet player despawn and no longer join thing... so you play aloe most of the time then rly...
i cnt play tis offline. its just a negative on its own.

    7
this game makes me angry, once you finished the lame campaign, and all the leveling from before until you reach endgame, you never want to touch that again, so if you want to test out another character, you can do it all over again...
jut so you know, you wont get the car until you finish the campaign... WHAT THE FK... you run for most of the time, if you later do strikes, ( which are basicly story missions in harder and mayby 1 boss, which is a cloned stronger variation of another boss or smaller unit) you kinda realize that you need the fking care desperatly...
8 okay okay next is. some of the kill quests, they require you to do kills with certain methods, like flying with an mp and killing units. do 50. the flying and aiming thing is a chore, it is annoying. or kill with this 1 handgun 10 big enemys on that planet, of that race. and so on. you basicly run from spawn to spawn and kill 1 unit. for 1-2 hours.... nice, afterwards you gotta do more of those... you get nothin directly. 9 some things feel unfinished. edges feel very **** sometimes, if you yetpack SLIGHTLY against them, youfly backwards, and die... sometimes you get knocket up like ****, and you fly away into death, you cannot dodge this, you cannot save yourself from this you are dead. 10 enemys are retardet.... or something you can just punch EVERY enemy to death. bosses will kill you because they just deal to much dmg, but you can do it. you also can just spamm revives into something, and chip the enemys away until you win. 11 lootchests are a joke, vendors too... there is ONE vendor who sells good stuff... thats it. the rest is locked behind the raid, which i cant even play, because i dont have the ppl for it, nor can i play the pvp event stuff from the nein or how they are called, terrible drops from chests are glimmer which doesnt bring you jack **** and tokens which result in sad loot from vendors and npcs... you will get floodet with this dirt. Pros
    - Game is fun and addictive, yes.
    - Gameplay feels great

    Cons:
    - Reharsh of Destiny 1, not even a new enemy class...ridiculous.
    - No new character class...and this is not "against the lore" its just laziness.
    - Cant choose Heroic Strikes, cant choose strikes dificult and any playlist.
    - Nightfalls are timed, really annoying.
    - Did not play the Raid though from what i read and saw the community hated, not fun at all.
    - Microtransactions are just for cosmetic stuff (shaders, armor sets that are low level and you will need to insude it, ships, sparrows), but still....there are microtransactions.
    - Graphics are not impressive at all.
    - 30 FPS.
    - History is lame with cringe dialogue up and down, makes you wonder what is the demographic of this game's audience.
    - Just like the 1st one, if you dont get the paid DLC the content will run thin in short time.
    - Again, MANDATORY PAID DLC.
    - Cant choose Crucible modes, its always a random playlist...
    - Speaking of Crucible, now there are only 4v4 modes...no more 6v6...i get that it makes more "tactical" gameplay, but still....we should have this option, certainly they are going go to implement on the next paid DLC to come.
    - Weekly objetives (milestones) that gives you armor and guns that are above your level (if you are high level like 270)...if you are done with this theres is NOTHING you can do (except for Raid) to have a chance to get a powerful gear, you are going tohave to wait a week to restart the process, how great is that.
    - DUPLICATES everywhere...legendary gear, exotic gear...prepare yourself to some heavy frustration (unless they fix this).
    - Maps (planets and moons, whatever) are dull and dont feel "open world" at all.
    - SERVER problems all the time (i have played since launch and im getting an error code at least once per day).

    - And many other things.

If you dont believe my review and choose to believe those reviewers that are giving this game 10 just to "counteract" the mediocre reviews (mind you, theres no way you could be more fanboy than this) go ahead and buy this game...sure, you will definitely have a good time, as i said the gameplay is fun and addictive, but this game is just a "5" in my book.

Awesome game! An improvement in everything compared to d1. Especially the story and content. The world feels alive and the are much more to do. Graphics are really nice (ps4 pro) and the sound is perfect.

EDIT - After the initial hype i have changed my score to a 7. There are so many bad things with this game i don´t even care anymore. Its a good run to power level 265 then nothing.

Destiny 2 is an extremely stellar experience. Despite knowing nothing about the original game’s lore going in I thoroughly enjoyed the story and characters thanks to the extremely funny and smart writing. The gameplay is equally fantastic, and the system to gather loot and new gear is both rewarding and addicting. Lastly, it can’t be emphasized enough how good the art design and music are.Destiny 2 is an extremely stellar experience. If you have a 4K console, this will easily be one of the standout titles on it this year. Whether you’re a franchise newcomer or have been playing since the first installment, Destiny 2 will have you hooked in seconds. Expand

Even if Bungie backtracks on some of these horrendous missteps, there’s evidence that the dev team is either flailing around without a clear idea of the experience they want to present, or even worse, they’re happy to offer the least amount of mediocre content possible until the player base starts pushing back. When free-to-play titles like Warframe and Let it Die seem monumentally more generous and offer vastly more entertainment value than a triple-A sixty dollar release built with a budget large enough to feed whole continents, it’s clear that something has gone horribly wrong.

It’s this sense of streamlined player experience that really defines Destiny 2. Where the first game had you grinding for hours just to experience increasingly diminishing returns, this is a sequel that trims away its processor’s frustrations, firmly putting fun first.

Destiny 2 is tough to compare to other shooters or games, but it is evidently a better title than part 1. The campaign is longer, the progression makes more sense, the structure is more satisfying and the sheen and splendor on the various planets entices even more. Destiny is comparable with its predecessor after the add-on The Taken King, and is therefore a more solid foundation for the coming months of content.
