What is with these losers giving this game bad scores? The first Destiny was great, needed work with the story, but they fixed that with some amazing DLC. Bungie has improved this game in EVERY AREA. they obviously listened to the fans and gave us a great story this time. So now people are being cry babies over microtransactions that you don't need to buy

I AM GIVING THIS GAME A 10 IN PROTEST TO THE ZEROS. Want to know another reason I am giving the game a 10? This is personally, the best game I have ever played in my entire life. It is all consuming to my soul in a way no other game has ever been. I have been playing game since the Atari 7200. I have played all the amazing classics when they were NEW and FRESH, not on some emulator years later, but when the music and graphics of those classics were cutting edge and amazing.

This is the best game I have ever played in my life. I am so happy this game exists. It makes my life better.

GO BUY DESTINY 2, BUY IT FOR YOUR FRIENDS WHO CANNOT AFFORD IT AND PLAY IT WITH THEM TOO. START A CLAN, PLAY PLAY PLAY. BEST GAME I HAVE EVER PLAYED IN MY LIFE.

If you liked what The Taken King had to offer then Destiny 2 will fulfill those same exciting feelings. Please overlook the bashing of the second game because the first one didn't live up to expectations at launch, because that's what this game deserves. I've played about 40 hours so far and I highly recommend it.
I'd give this game an 8, but due to the enormous amount of bashing based on consumers expecting Halo and getting Diablo 3 or any end-game MMO but with guns instead, I'll try to fix the user score by giving it 10.

The game mechanics have been developed a lot further and enhanced with a superb user interface and visual design that is a joy to play within. The 3 years of development for the original has informed this new game engine and it is absolutely joyous to explore and lose yourself in this incredible world.

The myriad collection of gameplay styles to tackle is amazing - from planetary patrol missions, to pure environmental exploration, team based strikes & raids, secret weapon quests and lore based adventures to all out multiplayer warfare there's something for whatever mood you're in and you are always earning or upgrading something on your character.

Bungie's exceptional talent for creating amazing environments simply gets better every year. This is simply the best online shooter on console and essential for every gamer to try. Definitely my Game of the Year and I can't wait to jump into the future expansions.

Bravo Bungie you knocked it out of the stratosphere!

Destiny 2 is a fresh take on the "Destiny" universe. They improved everything from last game. Better story, better progression, better gameplay. Plus they took out the really annoying parts and made things more convenient. Like expected, there are a few things that will need to be tweaked in the upcoming weeks, but it's clear that Bungie has been working really hard and listening to their fans.

It's addictive and I love it... but the single use shaders is kind of a pain. Micro transactions feel pretty much non existent and are really easy to ignore but yeah... the single use shaders is a little annoying and hinders player customization until late in the game when you get high level gear.
Also, the raid is pretty brutal in my opinion. It's heavily mechanics based and although the recommended power level is 260 that's way off. If you check bungie.net and try to find random people to raid with then most won't take you unless you're in the 290's, equipped with the right and gear and know what you're doing. It's really not a friendly or inviting game mode and generates a lot of frustration because you can't carry players. Everyone has a key role to play at all times.
Despite my quibbles I still give it a 10 because it's so much fun and i've put more time into it than any other game this year.

Crucible is fun but areas are also mostly copy-pasted with only a little new stuff. And grinding same type of missions is sometimes frustrating because all you need is luck to get better gear, hardly based on skill at all - except Nightfall's and Raids but luck is also present there.

My rating is based on Destiny 2 itself but with comparing it to Destiny one, I would give it a 6 or 7 out of 10.

Destiny 2 is everything that Destiny 1 did well, FROM THE START and with NEW STORY.

There are numerous ways to gear your character upon reaching level 20. You can do the slow grind killing monsters for loot, or perform activities that provide rewards to be used for upgrading gear.

In time, raids will be added, until then, the focus is to accrue as much currency as possible and the best gear you possibly can.

Visually it's beautiful, but the flow of the camera and detail in the corners really make the environments amazing. It has a great progression that actually encourages you slow down and enjoy the activity, quests, and exploration. Often we find ourselves rushing through a game to get to the end, but not so much here. I spent 90 minutes just doing three mission and two session of competitive play and took a break feeling fulfilled and excited to go back later. Most importantly Destiny 2 has lots of things to do that don't get boring or repetitive. Clan features are not yet active but I expect the integration will be tight and make it easy for clan members to integrate and (and most importantly) allow non-clan members to hook up and meet clans that can guide them through the end-game content. I'm super please and eager to get back into the world of Destiny at the end of my workday. Try it out, you'll like it! Expand

Piece of advice to those slapping on zeros, nobody is going to realistically take your review seriously.

This game is solid. Real score from me is a 7.8/10. First off, I hated the original. It made me angry beyond all belief. However this sequel has a coherent story, great coop play, and is over all a pretty full package as compared to it's predecessor. The beginning of this game really gives you a reason to fight and personally made me very interested in Gaul and his motivations. I hear raids and other game elements are on the way so no body panic. The campaign will definitely keep me busy playing it over again a couple times especially with friends! There isn't much else to say except it's a fun and large improvement over the first.

Overall if anything coming out of my gob has peaked your interest in the slightest, I would recommend you at the very least give the game a shot, maybe during a sale or trial. Thanks for tolerating my incoherent ramblings.

Anyway overall it's an improved version of Destiny, not revolutionary by any means, but an amazing refinement of what Destiny is. The story is pretty good, not great or amazing by any means, the gameplay is just as fun, music is at times jaw dropping, sounds are somehow even better than the first. What they most improved are the worlds; at times I would want to do a story mission, but then get sidetracked several times over just because of how alive the worlds are.
There are some negatives, the characters could be more fleshed out, some dialogue is cheesy, shaders are now a consumable, you dont get a sparrow for a while and they have increased the relevance of micro transactions.
However these are mostly overshadowed by the positives, which equates to a surprisingly fun and really enjoyable experience that I presume will carry on for a long time.

Incredibly well done -- You can tell that this is the game Bungie originally wanted to make.

The campaign is short but extremely polished and clearly directed at helping set the stage for the rest of the content and also help teach first time guardians the ropes of the game.

Environments draw you into a sense of wonder at the scale of buildings, ships, and vistas stretching into the distance. I often found myself forgetting the task at hand as I wandered into a new area, mesmerized by the landscape.

The end-game content is what has sold me on Destiny deserving high marks. Adventures, post campaign quests, even patrols and public events, continue to build out the story and immerse you in a world full of creativity and intrigue. Each piece of content uses familiar mechanics with just enough subtle variations on the gameplay approach to make things feel fresh and exciting. Nothing was particularly difficult, but I did find myself dying here and there in various encounters, forcing me to adjust my approach and adapt to the AI's playstyle.

Complaints swirl around "microtrasactions" but I did not find them to be anything close to a "pay to win" scenario. The things you can buy are almost exclusively cosmetic and, through leveling up or getting bright engram drops, can be acquired freely by playing the game, making the microtransactions a nonissue. Additionally, if you do happen to get armor pieces from the engrams, they drop at minimal light with no mods, so you'll still need to get light level appropriate fodder and strong modifications to apply to it; to me, this was a more than fair way to include an income stream for the game without breaking the balance of the core design of the leveling system.

As for the almost universal concern about shaders, I was similarly put off by the new consumable nature rather than the tried and true hot swap system of D1. But after experiencing the new system over the past few days, I found something I didn't expect: I started to take pride in collecting stashes shaders that I liked and cared about. In Destiny 1, shaders were a dime a dozen and I really only ended up caring about 1 or 2 of them, then forgot about it for the rest of the few hundred hours I put into the game. With D2, finding where a particular shader would drop gave me an instant jolt of excitement as I knew where I'd invest my time to build up a good stockpile of a shader I'd want to apply to my gear. It promotes continued participation in content rather than the 1-and-done style of the old system. I am a converted fan and I recommend guardians give it a chance.

With Destiny 2, Bungie has proven their dedication to making incredible game experiences.

What is more is that you can roll up to three toons, so that's like 120+ hours of gameplay easily. There are raids, pvp, and other features that are there to do weekly so you'll keep coming back like a lot of MMOs. Overall, the story is great, front to back , and very interesting. The game itself has all of its lore baked into the game now unlike D1. This is a shooter, so keep this is in mind, not an MMO. Some people want RPG, this isn't totally an RPG. This is a SHARED WORLD SHOOTER WITH MMO ELEMENTS. If you are looking for an MMORPG, please, look to WoW or something else. The controls are great, and the game looks very impressive at 4K with 30FPS. I know "PC Master Race" and the "Church of unlimited frames" people will balk, but overall, for a console game this is literally eye-popping visuals and looks. Most PC players won't even crack 4K with 30FPS unless they have spent $3,000 on their PC. The PS4 Pro is $399 and a 4K TV is $600, or so. I'm thoroughly satisfied, and about to start up my Titan, and I'm a hunter main. I intend on a Warlock play through at some point, but overall I'm impressed with this title. It will be the only game I play for months, and for $60 you cannot beat that. I bought the digital deluxe edition and pre-ordered, and watch it closely since it was announced. The thing about Destiny is a lot of people were burned by the first game. The first game was indeed average, but it does not mean this one is as well. Give it a chance, and come to your own conclusion.

I play a lot of games, and honestly, Destiny 2 is one of those rare games that I think about when I am not playing. The trolls describe this as a dlc, but if you think back to Taken King, you got around 4 main missions and a few extras, such as a new raid, and a few other items. This game is a full blown, completed experience. 4 brand new planets, great campaign, strikes, raids, crucible, adventures, lost sectors, high value targets, patrols...you would never get all that in a dlc. ever. Unless you are CD Project Red.

Campaign is great. Opening mission is phenomenal, including your rise to power again after the fall. The final few missions are also unbelievable. The middle parts of the campaign are great too but don't quite reach the heights of those bookmarks.

Oh and the soundtrack. Listen to 'Journey' on Youtube and tell me thats not epic.

Go home trolls. You lose this time. Buy the game.

Despite all the hate it is getting I believe that bungie is growing to make destiny better. the game is not perfect, but it offers way more than destiny 1 did. 30 fps kinda sucks and the story is easy as hell and I will promise not to buy destiny 3 if they don't change this. I love the crucible and the new raid and trials it is a fair and awesome experience for new and old players. I am giving it a 10 out of ten because I believe this game deserves more than a 5.9 user score it should probably be rated around 8.0 to be honest. Cant wait for the next dlc my wallet is begging for mercy. Peace out bungle Expand

Graphics are improved, there is an actual story now, and there is always something to do. The addition of maps to the planets and markers showing exactly where activities are or where things can be found make you want to stay on the planet and explore. With Destiny 1 it was a sit and wait game on planets, now you can teleport around to get to activities faster. The nightfall strikes are much more entertaining with timers that force you finish them quickly or be ejected to orbit to start over. It is more of the same, but what sequel, or expansion, isn't. The amount of quality of life improvements is enough to keep you coming back for more.

It seems that all the low reviews are complaining about micro-transactions and calling it pay to win have not played this game. The micro-transaction items are shaders, sparrows, and weapon ornaments. Nothing that you can buy with real money is going to give you an advantage in the game. Anything that can be bought with real money can be earned in the game and again, it's only cosmetic items.

I'm surprised to read comments about D2 not being a finished game, its not and was never intended to be. I think people forget that D1 started with a few maps, weapons, and missions, but after a few years we had a large game that you could spend hours playing. A big part of destiny is the journey and this is where it starts.

I have played destiny for over 2000 hrs and since the beta was released, destiny 2 in my opinion was what bungie intended on releasing with the original destiny. Destiny 2 fails to have as much of a solid end game the original destiny held. I hope in the future they start catering to a more grind focused game because the best moments i held in the original destiny came from grinding, in the new game there is no point to play the raid because you can get just as good loot from the nightfall and flashpoints. AN IN-CRE-DI-BLE GA-ME !

When I played Destiny 1 years ago I said at the time that it was an Excelent Multiplayer. Now, this is like the first 1 but improved noticeably. So, both game are very good. When I played Destiny 1 years ago I said at the time that it was an Excelent Multiplayer. Now, this is like the first 1 but improved noticeably. So, both game are very good. Now, when I played the first one I remember I struggled because I didn't play many shooters back then. And the guides on GameFAQs though very extensive thay dealed mostly with the game like how to progress through levels, but it didn't actually teach or give clues on how to play a shooter. So, if you are a bit like me having not much experience with shooters well I can help, but just a tiny little bit. I've written a FAQ on GameFAQs not on Destiny but on Call of Duty Black Ops 4. So, if you look there for a Blackout guide you find it under this same username. On the Weapons section I give very little comments on each weapon type. Though very little it's better than nothing especially for someone completely in the dark.

Now, that's it. I really enjoyed the game and I may update this text in the future as I plan to play the expansions including Forsaken. I'm really looking forward to it, it looks promising and I've heard that it's great indeed. So, this just covers the base game. And if you read my guide on GameFAQs please don't forget to click the "YES" button if you enjoyed it :-)

And regarding the guide that's something interesting. I love GameFAQs, but for those in need of a tutorial on how to play shooters, or any genre, like racers or RPGs you don't have that in GFAQs. So, Ihave to refer a guide for a specific game to cover the basics. I think it would be interesting if GFAQs included a section on "General FAQs". Not guides for specific games but rather guides on how to play specific game genres like a mentioned shooters, racers, RPGs, MMOs and on. I'm not sure GFAQs has that and I'm not implying I'd write those guides. It's just that when I played NFS Rivals the same happened, I needed to look elsewhere to learn how to play racing games, because I don't even have a Driver License, so I needed to look elsewhere but I still wished I never needed to go outside of GFAQs S2

Well, that's it for now. Maybe will update when finishing Forsaken but not sure if I'll play it right now. Thanks for reading and enjoy youtr Destiny as a Gamer!

Update: I have notplayed through the expansions yet, but I did the assaults and played a bit of the Leviathan Raid. I said I said that Destini 1 was an Excelent Multiplayer, and this is indeed no different. Especially the Raid where you team up with other players with Voip and are required a lot of coordination and teamwork, the likes that I've seen only in MMOs. It's definitely real fun. I'd like to applaud Bungie's take on Matchmaking, for the Raid, they designed it knowing what would it require, so definitely know what they're doing on this issue. I'm glad I finally played a game from the legendary Devs of Marathon and Halo :-) Still not sure if I'll play Forsaken right now but may further update this when I do.

Amazing game, ignore the hate from angry people who were let down after pre-ordering Destiny 1. Plays like a combination of Halo: Reach and Borderlands. Worth every penny.

O melhor RPG que já joguei em toda a minha vida simplesmente porque é FPS, sério, a Bungie é a criadora das melhores ideias, realmente amei esse jogo tão melhor quanto o primeiro, e já faz anos que estou jogando, viciei por completo.

Even if Bungie backtracks on some of these horrendous missteps, there’s evidence that the dev team is either flailing around without a clear idea of the experience they want to present, or even worse, they’re happy to offer the least amount of mediocre content possible until the player base starts pushing back. When free-to-play titles like Warframe and Let it Die seem monumentally more generous and offer vastly more entertainment value than a triple-A sixty dollar release built with a budget large enough to feed whole continents, it’s clear that something has gone horribly wrong.

It’s this sense of streamlined player experience that really defines Destiny 2. Where the first game had you grinding for hours just to experience increasingly diminishing returns, this is a sequel that trims away its processor’s frustrations, firmly putting fun first.

Destiny 2 is tough to compare to other shooters or games, but it is evidently a better title than part 1. The campaign is longer, the progression makes more sense, the structure is more satisfying and the sheen and splendor on the various planets entices even more. Destiny is comparable with its predecessor after the add-on The Taken King, and is therefore a more solid foundation for the coming months of content.
